Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold...seriously WTF?
|
on: November 01, 2017, 02:35:36 PM

Can anyone claim acess to their Bitcoin gold yet? Seriously...the developers of Bitcoin Gold should be banished from the community.
Bitcoin Cash was such a seamless hard fork.
Has anyone successfully claimed Bitcoin Gold? And how?
This attempt to fork has been very ridicolous so far. They lacked skills, marketing, communication, development. Their website is very basic and they haven't released a wallet yet so far. I'm not really sure there will be a way to claim Bitcoin Gold in the future. Anyway, the important thing is to have control of our private keys, then if in the future there will be a way to obtain this altcoin, well, it will be free money. Otherwise, it won't be a tragedy... this coin will go nowhere anyway...

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to measure the potential of the alt coin
|
on: October 28, 2017, 08:46:48 PM
|
Is there any method to study the potential of a coin? Is it by look at it whitepaper only or do i need to understand the objective of those coin? Because there are too many alt coin with the same capability i.e untraceable transaction etc. Any comment guys?
No, reading only the white paper is not enough. Look for: - Features: Does the coin provide good/innovative features? Does it have a good and stable technology? - Team: Is is an experienced team? Are they good workers and reliable people? - Marketing strategy: Does the coin have a good hype? How is their website (shiny, easy to navigate, etc.)? Do they have social media accounts? - Charts: look at past charts (if it's an old coin), or try to foresee they future if it's a new coin. - Supply: Does the coin have a ridicolous high supply (like ripple, cindicator or dogecoin) or a low one (like Bitcoin, Myserium or Dash)? In general, high supply = inflation and low supply = deflation. There are some exceptions, though...

Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day Trading or HODLING
|
on: October 28, 2017, 08:33:26 PM

When I first started day trading crypto earlier this yeah in low 1k's for BTC and about 80-90 for ETH I started making ridiculous amounts of profit and fast! I was mostly using Kraken, which I wont even get into how shit that platform is but anyways as im sure most are aware the massive correction/dip/crash whatever you want to call it wiped out majority of the profit earned prior.
I was forced to learn the hard way that if I had just held those original investments, no leverage, no day trades I would have made 10x more in the long-term. How many of you have experienced this same thing over the last 8 months???
Interested to see the perspectives, specifically with alts...
Yes, you learned it and you're right in my opinion! Holding your coins you will higher profits and also you won't buy trading fees to exchanges. Just buy and hold and keep learning about cryptocoins. Making money in this world isn't easy (like anywhere else!) but can be extremely fast! No legit investment in the world can make you achieve so high profits in a so short period of time!

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Malta is trying to regulate cryptocurrency??
|
on: October 28, 2017, 08:28:26 PM
|
So Malta has been in the news pretty much for a whole year due to multiple blockchain/cryptocurrency updates. Now, they're trying to come up with a regulation for cryptocurrency investment and I'm wondering if it's one of the first steps to actually get their hands on cryptocurrency or they just want to protect investors from ICO scams and fraud? What does everyone else think? Here's the article link: http://bitemycoin.com/news/malta-proposes-rules-for-cryptocurrency-investmentI think Malta government is trying to protect its banks. Don't forget Malta is one of best known tax havens in Europe and thus Bitcoin can be seen as a rival, because many people already use Bitcoin for tax avoidance and not tax havens like Malta.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin being taxed?
|
on: October 28, 2017, 08:26:09 PM

Well, Bitcoin cannot be taxed by a central agency or government because Bitcoin transactions can be fully anonymous (at least if the user is able to keep his privacy). So Bitcoin is impossible to tax for governments.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be too big to fail?
|
on: October 28, 2017, 08:23:15 PM
|
After spending much time as a guest on this forum learning all I can about Bitcoin, I finally decided to join. Glad to be here and thanks for all the great advice along the way!
Now I have a question I'd like to ask. Is Bitcoin going to get to the point where it is too big to fail? The government bailed out Wall Street to avoid a financial collapse. Can Bitcoin gain the same status as Wall Street? The market cap is steadily increasing making it a big player in the game and I'm looking forward to where it is headed.
Thanks in advance!
Yes and no. Let me be more clear. 1. Anyone and anything can fail. The British Empire, the Roman Empire, Kings and Queen, Dictators, Banks, Governements, Big Companies, no one is safe and any one can fail. 2. But, at the same time, I understand your point of view. Sooner or later, governments and banks will start a war against Bitcoin. But, if rich people like Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg invest in Bitcoin, they have huge power and are able to influence governments, which - to not damage such rich people - will be afraid to fight Bitcoin.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best 50 Coins To Hold 3 Years
|
on: October 28, 2017, 08:18:52 PM

50 coins are definitely too much! In my opinion you need to make 5-10 good investments and you'll become quite rich in 3 years. If you see 3 years ago, you'll realise there were very cheap coins that now are priced very high. So it's better to pick carefully. Quality over quantity is my mantra.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Some exchange bitcoin for Fiat you like?
|
on: October 28, 2017, 08:16:28 PM

It mainly depends on which "fiat" you need to buy/sell/trade for Bitcoin. For example for South Korean users there's a very good exchange called Bithumb but they accept only KRW. The Rock Trading is another good one, but accepts only USD and EUR. Then Bitflyer for Japanese users, etc. Where are based in and which fiat currencies do you need to exchange?

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Mysterium - investment advice
|
on: September 23, 2017, 08:48:21 AM
|
Hey guys,
I'm thinking of investing a bit of money into some relatively new token with low market cap (let's say below $20 mil.), so it would have a big potential to grow. I checked quite a few and I'm thinking of putting the money into Mysterium.
They seem to have a solid project - a decentralized VPN sounds like a good idea to me, since I personally don't really trust the classical centralized ones (they promise not to keep traffic logs, but who knows). The only drawback I see there is a very limited communication with the public, despite of a lot of work being done. This, however, can actually be an advantage since probably "thanks" to this the MYST price has been going down for about three months now. I think it can't really go much lower and the trend already seems to be slowing down and turning, which makes me believe it's probably a good time to jump in. My guess is that the price can skyrocket once the development news are finally properly communicated.
I am however not very experienced in crypto in general, so I'd like to know your opinion and hear any advice you may have. Do you think that it could go at least x10, let's say within a year or so?
Thanks.
Yeah, I invested in Mysterium too because I really like this project. I want it for my own needs, a decentralized VPN, safe and reliable to use. MYST team is working hard, founder Robertas Visinskis is a serious dev and thus I'm pretty confident this will be huge. Anyway, I agree with you. Their marketing strategy is not "shiny" and their website isn't so great as well...let's see what will happen in the next few months...

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]COSS Token Swap ICO is LIVE

Does anyone know what date we will receive our first dividend.
Also does anyone yet clearly understand how to move your coss tokens to myetherwallet but still get paid your dividend to your coss account?
We are still waiting for some news by official COSS team. Are you sure it will be possible to receive dividends even if we move coss tokens away from their exchange? Or dividends will be paid only if we have funds on coss.io?

Yes, it's not easy to find infos on this ICO. Too bad because it seemed quite interesting to me, at a first glance. Also I think the fact they didn't write an official announcement here on bitcointalk will prevent many people to invest money on this project. Definitely a bad marketing strategy!

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Most Undervalued Coin of 2017!

Mysterium is very undervalued right now (less than 1 dollar). Founder Robertas Visinskis is a very serious dev and also has a good team around him. Since there's a huge need of reliable and decentralized VPNs, I think this will be a great project as soon as the alpha version of this VPN will be released.
