Are these cheap coins now?
Get in before the deposits clear in the morning. Won't see sub $400 for a while.

That's what I was afraid of.  I really don't know what to do.  Actually that's not true.  I'm out of fiat for about 10 days so my decision is made for me.  If I did have fiat available I wouldn't know what to do now.

I will continue to check this thread several times a day.  Hope springs eternal Grin

While syncing I maxed out my connection at 30 Mbps down and 5 Mbps up about 20% of the time vs close to 100% (maybe? can't remember clearly) with 0.8.6.6

After syncing the max was 5 Mbps for short periods of time which again seems much less than with 0.8.6.6

I remember discussion quite a while ago in which it was stated that bandwidth would be used up to whatever was available and that it wasn't necessary to do so.  I believe this is where the bandwidth rate limits came from.  Maybe this is where Quicken' question came from.

I haven't looked closely since the 0.9 beta but with 0.8.6.6 it used to max out my bandwidth.  I have a fast connection with no monthly limit.  I am now syncing 0.9 to compare.

Total buy orders on polo under 60 BTC. Looks like everything is down again with BTC's little jump, but I'm kinda thinking we're going under 0.001 here.

When was the last time this happened? (price  below .001, both with or without a BTC/USD reference baseline)

February

Ah cool thanks. I think if it goes below .001 then it will also go below 0.00075. Just set up buy orders accordingly Wink

I think it ain't gettin there.  Then again I know nothing.

After this last week my Monero house is now nicely furnished.

Today I received from my gf a yellow plush Lambchop dog toy about 10" long.  It's very cute. Smiley

True story.

I guess my purchase yesterday @ 331 didn't gum up the works.  Best of luck to everyone.

Pic or it didn't happen.

I will gladly post a pic.  Being that I am old and slow I don't know how to post a pic here Tongue

Off to Thanksgiving dinner in a few minutes, Happy Thanksgiving everyone Smiley

Hi guys,
I'm testing out Monero mining on a Linux machine. I'm using the moneropool.com and minerd.

Something might be wrong in my config, but I get following error: "unknown algorithm"

./minerd -a cryptonight -o stratum+tcp://mine.moneropool.com:3333 -u MYWALLETADDRESS -p x

When I delete -a cryptonight I get another error "JSON-RPC call failed code:1

Any idea what is wrong here?

Thanks!

Where did u get minerd from? For whatever reason I've found that compiling bins to be better.

Well, I just googled cpuminer or so and followed the steps from http://gist.github.com/return1/5309843 - ok, I see now it concerns a bitcoin-cpuminer!! Is that the problem then?  Huh
Use this:
https://github.com/tsiv/ccminer-cryptonight/releases

Isn't that GPU and not CPU?

i think its another fake pump.. they dont actually have the buyers to really do anything .. i wont buy anywhere in this level. this is a big fakeout try get peeps to buy in .. if it isnt then go on up biatches lets go see ... quit being little gay obamafaeries .... and btw my cold storage will still be in cold storage long after obamaturds leaves the wh.

It's possible it's fake but possibilities are all we deal with.  I think the possibility to go below 315 is slim.  I believe the 5% difference between what I paid and and 315 doesn't amount to much especially considering it made no difference in the number of shiny btc obtained, just slightly less fiat which I can't hold onto anyway.

and btw, those coin i have in cold storage. i'm the only person in the world knows the secret key to them.

here is a pic of all of observer thread watching one of the obama fairies pump bitcoin:

3 people have access to all my coins.  When I meet my demise my coins will not have met their's.

I just checked my records and I made a mistake on the purchase I made last week @ $321 and only bought 40% of the coins I thought I did.  I just bought the missing coins @ $331.

Sorry if this causes this small bull run to stop and/or reverse.  @ the world revolves around me Tongue

I have a BTC -> XMR service ready to go. Soon you will not need to use Shapeshift.io. I anticipate the launch to be within the next 2 weeks.

Prepare for Monerizer.

Is this waiting for the 0.9 release?

Sorry for the delay. I started refactoring some things, improving the security. Then I got distracted with another project. Now I expect it to take another week or two. Soon™.

Thanks for the update, looking forward to it.

Thank you for your contributions to this thread.  They are appreciated by many readers.

The insightful and informative ones even more than the funny one I quoted.

Hopefully this post is deemed appropriate and will not be deleted.

Hey guys... so I made my first purchase using poloniex (usually I just use shapeshift) and I just tried to withdraw while using the payment ID and everything.  I've been waiting like 10 minutes now and I still haven't seen it in mymonero or on the block explorer, should I be worried?

I haven't used Polo in a while but as I remember it they send a confirmation email which you have to verify.  I don't believe withdrawals are instant although I remember them being quick.  No need to use a payment ID when sending to yourself, was the Payment ID generated by MyMonero?

Edit: the post I replied to was removed.  I assume the Monero was received.

https://blog.coinbase.com/2015/11/20/introducing-the-shift-card/

Quote
Today, we’re excited to introduce the first US-issued bitcoin debit card, the Shift Card. The Shift Card is a VISA debit card that currently allows Coinbase users in twenty-four states in the U.S. to spend bitcoin online and offline at over 38 million merchants worldwide.

Wow. That really expands the number of stores you can spend Bitcoin at!

I hope they have fairer fees than the other Bitcoin credit cards.

Otherwise it won't affect the usage

And the coins will be easier to spend, so more sell pressure

These are the fees, ofc subject to change Grin

Fee                                          Amount
Plastic Card Issuance Fee           $10.00
Plastic Card Replacement Fee   $10.00
Annual Fee                                   $0.00
Domestic Transactions           $0.00
Domestic ATM                           $2.50
Intl. Transactions                    3%
Intl. ATM                                   $3.50

sorry tried to line up the columns

Sell pressure?  I have bought with btc and yet have more btc than ever before.

//offtopic. I'll delete it if against the rules.

We are raising donations for this campaign. There are already 351$ and 0.0403 BTC in donations for Bojia:
"The 80 years old mother Bojia Bikova was accused of growing hemp by the Bulgarian police, who found a few uprooted sprigs of hemp in her field in the countryside. She was sentenced to pay about $1100 including court taxes. The monthly pension of old mother Bojia is $100. The amount she has to pay is close to the full amount of her pension for the whole year."
You could watch a short video about her case here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqmGkti9uUQ.
I created an XMR address for this campaign. Please support it. If in doubt about the validity of the address, I could ask our admin to add an OpenAlias XMR address to promena.org:
Code:

This may be the first non-governmental organization accepting Monero donations for its campaigns. We added OpenAlias xmr address to promena.org. It seems that the domain registrar is not adding TXT DNS records correctly with their GUI. They are adding "invisible spaces" like the space in the Monero address in bitcointalk (you could see the spaces here - type promena.org and select TXT record: http://manytools.org/network/query-dns-records-online). The result is that you can't add a valid OpenAlias address (or any valid long words TXT record). How many domain registrars are out there which are doing the same?
The domain registrar fixed their bug and the OpenAlias address promena.org is now working for the "Bojia" campaign. My contribution is 20 XMR. I'll make sure the total sum of Monero donations is cited at the end of the campaign and I'm pretty sure a successful campaign will catch some media attention (Bulgarian media are already following the "Bojia" case).

OpenAlias Monero address added to promena.org for the "Bojia" campaign. You could now send XMR to promena.org - there are 107 XMR in donations till now.

Donation of 25 XMR just sent
