21  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Ups and Downs ! on: November 25, 2016, 04:04:54 AM
The price fluctuations is one reason we have not seen a mass bitcoin adoption.
Most people see bitcoin as a currency not really for trading purposes, so why buy something whose value is not fixed for one week straight?
22  Other / Archival / Re: New forum for bitcoiners on: November 24, 2016, 12:32:46 PM
My goodness! It's a carbon copy of bitcointalk.org
The interface is nice though, and you will need to do some rigorous advertisements for months to get it started.
Wish you the best, good work.
23  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk Secret Santa ? I have a plan. on: November 24, 2016, 12:24:38 PM

Okay,if you really are going to value the situation in terms of bitcoins earned/lost,the whole Secret Santa thing isn't for ya.It's not about how much you get/give but the motives behind it.It's just like saying I lost half of my money because the gift I gave was much expensive than the gift I received.

You know this forum is all about making money, so people are more interested in increasing their bitcoins than losing it. Grin
24  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BITSANE.COM Cryptocurrency Exchange Platform Is Now Live on: November 24, 2016, 12:22:00 PM
I hope you guys list ICN and all the other good altcoins out there so your website will be good for alt trading Grin
25  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitcoin investment management services on: November 24, 2016, 12:11:09 PM
Investing in ICONOMI is safe but it's similar to the buy-and-hold approach because you won't start seeing huge returns one year from now... maybe two years. Which has the same effect as holding btc for two years Grin
26  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: bitcoin/paypal based auction website on: November 24, 2016, 12:03:31 PM
Yeah, you have to have an escrow system embedded in your website such that btc payments do not get transferred until it has been verified that goods have been delivered.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks gonna do what banks gonna do.... on: November 24, 2016, 12:02:10 PM
Banks have finally found a way to control bitcoin (I've always known they won't want to lose control)
Before you know it, bitcoin will start facing the same problem that fiat is facing now - gross devaluation.
28  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ethtrade..Has anyone heard about them? on: November 24, 2016, 11:35:36 AM
It is much better to learn trading from experience than to have someone do it for you - who might end up running away with your money.
29  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-11-22]iPayYou is Bringing Bitcoin to Amazon on: November 24, 2016, 11:31:44 AM
Amazon added bitcoin because it does not want to be left of the latest trend - it won't be good for business if it's the only major online store yet to accept crypto.
30  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-11-22]Bitcoin Price Surpasses US$1,250 In Nigeria Amid Surging Naira Value on: November 24, 2016, 11:30:19 AM
It will take a long while for the rest of the world to buy bitcoins due to dollar shortage.
The price will reach $1250 not because of USD but due to mass adoption.
31  Local / Other languages/locations / Re: Any Bitcoins Trader's In Nigeria? => Pls Let Talk on: November 19, 2016, 06:40:29 PM
I am also from Nigeria and quite happy to see someone from my country on this forum. Grin
32  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Paypal a scam? on: November 19, 2016, 06:38:26 PM
You are lucky you live in a PayPal supported country. Lots of people do not live in such countries (like me for instance), and that is why bitcoin seems like a very good alternative.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are we in a bubble? on: November 17, 2016, 01:09:36 PM
we are in bitcoin bubble and this is why you see that all the coin are increasing...

I'd say so far so good, bitcoin is about the only coin who's price rises with time. So bitcoin is not a bubble.
34  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to sell bitcoins on an exchange on: November 17, 2016, 01:04:21 PM
Maybe OP does not want to go through the hassles of verifying his ID because asides that, I've never heard of an exchange asking where any coin came from.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Good Altcoins Fail on: November 17, 2016, 01:00:20 PM
But then it is difficult for folks who know nothing about programming and the likes to identify a good coin from a bad one just by reading the white paper, because the paper contains lots of technical terms that are hard to understand. Undecided
36  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you Still believe in Fiat? on: November 17, 2016, 12:58:00 PM
Crypto will definitely replace fiat 20 -30 years from now. I am not saying this because I want to make profit, I've been observing the trends.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: coins for real world average joe utilisation on: November 17, 2016, 12:53:55 PM
i am bored with altcoin bingo. i want real coins.

please name 3 coins and an example for real world utilisation. thank you.

i start with:

1. BTC: payments
2. NLG: payments
3. XMR: payments

Ok for BTC and NLG but XMR payments? Where is XMR accepted in real world?

XMR is accepted in the dark web markets. Drug dealers find its anonymity quite appealing.
38  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Stock Market where the people are the assets on: November 17, 2016, 12:51:16 PM
I see nothing wrong with OP's idea. At least now we have TIT coin - what's the coin for, promoting tits???
- OP's coin will make good sales because companies also pay celebs for product advertisements.
So maybe OP can reach an agreement with the celebs.
39  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How will Bitcoin 1.0 look like? on: November 17, 2016, 12:45:51 PM
Bitcoin 1.0 probably won't happen in our lifetime.

Actually bitcoin 1.0 might happen because as brilliant as the developers are, it's difficult imagining how the blockchain would be like if 5billion people were spending btc.
We just might arrive at btc 1.0 25 years from now.
40  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How cryptocurrency can be killed & people money lost? on: November 17, 2016, 12:41:33 PM
I see no reason why OP can not store bitcoins as a life investment. Worst case scenario if he senses a major shift, he'll quickly convert his coins to fiat with a bitcoin debit card.
