1  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitminter bitcoin mining pool - Pays TxFees, Merged Mining, Fair PPLNS rewards on: March 11, 2018, 09:28:39 AM
Hi,

longman77, I think it's rented hashes, someone rented SHA256 at nicehash with a 50PH limit for some days ago. Smiley

Warning: (from bitcoind) Warning: Unknown block versions being mined! It's possible unknown rules are in effect.

Version: 16.0,
bitcoincore: 14.2
What to do? :/

No you don't all get the same 10%
People with well optimised good setups, or much higher hashing power, get lower %...
I get your point, and I think that's fair, if you have a better line, setup and hash rate you have a grater chance to find a block, it can't be a huge % diff.., if you get a high % on your node you can use a public node with total higher hash rate instead. Or use a non decentralized pool. Is it worth to spend time on a orphan fix before the empty block problem is solved?, 5 years ago it really didn't was a problem, but today when the tx limit is forced this is really bad for bitcoin. My opinion is it's better to just save the power and stop mining for a few seconds instead of public a empty block. A decc pool is a wonderful thing, but it is what it is.. I have great respect for forrestv

Message written in incorrect english with a touch of swe..
I has spend some time to watch bitcoin-q and p2pool's prompt window.. and summary is:

1. Sometimes, core gets a new block, verify it and then p2pool prompt "new work for workers.. (value13.77btc 1200tx..example)" within a second. No empty block mining. The thing is when core gets the block, it's somtimes about 5-20 seconds old already.

2. Sometimes p2pool prompt, "new work for worker.. (value 12.5btc 0tx) and nothing happens in core for a few seconds.. then the block show up, about 5-20 seconds old, gets verified and within a second p2pool prompt "new work for worker.. (value 13,77btc 1200tx)

I'm a machine programmer that heats my house with miners, not an expert. But I can't see how the empty block mining problem can be solved if not the local bitcoin core gets the block before some other remote p2pool node heard of the block and tells the local nod that there is a new block. I don't think the problem is between p2pool and btc core, is more an internet problem that core needs to have the block faster and before p2pool heard of it. Maybe if p2pool can relay blocks to other nodes, but why should that be faster then core get the block from an other core node?...

And the ophran and doa thing, it's the same amount we inside the pool share, if all involved in this gets about 10% ophran shares, it does not mean that we earn 10% less.. otherwise I had get it all wrong with the share thing and now I'm going to open a beer and paint a ceiling Smiley

Nice block *oR5PGXR3! Almost 2000tx 872kB Smiley

Will the "segwit1+empty_block_fix1" be released in binary .exe? Or do I have to figure out how to setup .python .twisted to update my node?

PS. If someone has broken bitmain APW3 psu's, I am interested to buy..

One way to not mine empty ones, change The min size, but a empy block brings coins...

Block creation options:
-blockminsize=<n>   Set minimum block size in bytes (default: 0)
-blockmaxsize=<n>   Set maximum block size in bytes (default: 750000)
-blockprioritysize=<n>   Set maximum size of high-priority/low-fee transactions in bytes (default: 0)

I'm searching for an pdf or som specs on the U10 chip:
8233BD
1534DFL0DU

I think it is the switchmode controller in the APW3-12-1600-B2 PSU?..  Huh

One of my psu died when the temperature in my mining house dropped to -10c.. is there any drawing of the board and components? The DC bus is ok, the 12v low current supply is working, mosfets and diods seems to be ok..  Undecided

I found my first block!BTC It was my laundry miner who found it, a BitmainS9 as I only had a week. My girlfriend hates it, but it dries the laundry really fast. Grin

Bitminter have a "Pay/Hour at 1 TH/s" column at their Shifts page. So i calculated my pay/h of the latest block (409346). = 0.234mBTC per 1TH/h. (@9Th)
Bitminters last record say 0.19471mBTC, but there are higher and super low values like 0.0000...

The image with the dead horse.. mja I can't see that p2pool is dead...

Hi,

I think the key is to create (more) public nodes with a great user interface, maybe public nodes should run the same or similar interface? And one thing the user want is a graph of your own Hashrate.
At my node I run the "johndoe75 interface" (//213.66.205.194:9332), if it would be possible to klick on your "adress" to se a graph on your Hashrate. Add somewhere to klick for se the old list of all users payout?
Create nodes that run the webpage on port:80 instead of 9332.. ? is it possible? and then use port:9332 for miners.?

I have tested to run p2pool on one server and the bitcoinqt on another, but it did not work? the p2pool does not need much power to run but the qt needs lot of power to generate the blocktemplate quick. now i'm running the node on a core-i7 3,6ghz*8core + intel PCIE SSD and the time to generate the template is ~300ms. to slow.. ?
<--edit, by default in bitcoin core setting "rpcallowip=127.0.0.1" is set, by adding "rpcallowip=213.66.205.194" it is possible to use a remote bitcoin node for several p2pool nodes... but if the btc node is down.. all the p2 nodes is down...

One great thing with public p2pool nodes is the lazy users do not even need to create a user account. And u can mint on different node servers with the same "username" (Payout adress).

Best regards
Magnus
11  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Anyone ever worked out the Electricity Cost alone of Bitcoin Mining??? on: April 17, 2016, 09:59:24 AM
Hi,

I live in Sweden in a house heated by electricity, and that was why I started mining. I have to purchase electricity even if I'm mining or not. In this way, electricity is free for me and I get back bitcoin. The large part of Swedish electricity is from renewable sources.

So I do not think I affect climate. I use electricity to two things at once.  Cheesy
And in the summer, I have solar panels that generate free electricity to all miners. Wink
