1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: Today at 05:59:53 AM

Wow that's pretty cool you saw him play in Taiwan?  Did you see any other former NBA players when you went to watch? We rarely hear about where x-NBA players go to play after the NBA.  I honestly had no idea that he was playing Taiwan.  Every once in a while I hear about an x-NBA player playing overseas and always suprised about it.

I bet he wat still fun to watch no?
Dwight has a lot of memes on twitter about him playing in Taiwan during the last Playoffs since he is the only one that stop Joker during his time on Lakers before while Nuggets dominates Lakers on the last playoff with no one can guard Jokic.

He is having the best time of his career on Taiwan since he dominates the game there. I think is he the only popular NBA player playing in Taiwanand the rest is on China and other lower asia league.

Basically, it was him and McGee who was giving Jokic a hard time defensively. So, there's a little honesty there, but undeniably he's been way out of his prime already during that time.
I guess one of the reason why he's struggling to get a contract from any NBA teams is because of his silly attitude and low basketball IQ. Look at how he played in Taiwan, he has been dominating in every category from the stat sheets, but his team finished last and missed the playoffs. That's because he was not playing the way he should to compliment the role of his teammates. Crazy, how he has been shooting a lot of 3s in Taiwan. He clearly doesn't want his team to win, but he only he cares about his stats and playing basketball purely for fun lol.

2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When Gamblers Fail to Read a Casino's Terms and Conditions on: Today at 12:27:53 AM
I have read a lot of gambling threads both here on the forum and in other forums. This makes me to draw the conclusion that most gamblers are either too lazy to read the Terms and Conditions (T&C,)or they don't just care about it. The results of which leads to misunderstandings and frustrations, often resulting in negative reviews and complaints that may not accurately represent the casino's practices.

I have to admit it, most of the gamblers including me are too lazy to read the whole TOS or T&C as they all usually have some similarities with any other online casinos. The most common thing for an experienced gambler to look for from the TOS is the KYC compliance and country restrictions or whether or not the use of VPN are prohibited, any other terms are usually being skipped. But to be fair, there are some who read the whole context of the TOS, especially those who are constantly critical with their casino reviews.

3. Accuse the casino of not being transparent because they request KYC that they want to steal their personal information.

Some casinos aren't being transparent with KYC verification until you hit a huge winning and the amount of money you have accumulated on your bankroll from the series of winning are extremely high, that's when they are going to ask you to comply for KYC. This has happened many times already.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin on banking systems. on: September 24, 2023, 10:40:04 PM
Does Bitcoin really have challenged the monopoly of your country's traditional banking systems?

What do you guys think?

The fact that our authorities did not impose anything harsh towards bitcoin or any cryptocurrency, means it has not challenged anything including the traditional banking system. In fact, some banks are starting to adopt what bitcoin can offer for their account holders to use. So, the question for me should be, does the traditional banking system includes bitcoin to the monopoly?
IMO, bitcoin doesn't really impose any challenges towards the banking system because they have not seen any significant decrease from their clients. They still took a huge percentages with bank loans, something bitcoin can never offer to anyone.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: September 23, 2023, 11:41:55 AM
Just like what Top Rank's did to Manny and now to Inoue. They have the blue print to make a good fighters to be great and legendary by careful match making. But just imagine if Manny doesn't have the power or the charisma he had in the ring, he wouldn't be that great though.

Inoue was already popular before he joined Top Rank. If I remember correctly, he only joined after he beat Donaire in their first fight. I thought that when he joined Top Rank, he would have more fights outside his country, but he still chose to fight in Japan rather than in the USA. I'm not sure if Inoue is making more money fighting in Japan or in the USA. How can Top Rank maximize the potential income?

He'd still earn good figures in Japan as he has the full support of his countrymen, not to mention he'd also attract tourist to watch him fight live. So, Inoue fighting in Japan could help their tourism businesses as well. However, this won't stay longer especially when boxing fans starts to become disinterested due to the fact that he's not fighting outside Japan.
Inoue needs to explore more of his career in fighting outside his territory, it would help him become even better with where he is right now.
5  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will reach all-time-high before halving. - BitQuant on: September 23, 2023, 09:02:26 AM
(....)
I know some of you people will agree that bitcoin may reach $250000. What about bitcoin to reach all-time-high before halving? As for me, I do not think so and the all-time-high I am predicting is $170000.
I am not really hoping high here or just having hopium.
What I am expecting and I am already happy for Bitcoin is just to create a new all-time high before the Bitcoin block halving.
That is what I am expecting because of the history of Bitcoin block halvings that happened before.

I have a feeling that bitcoin may not hit another ATH pre-halving. Usually it would fall several months after the halving.
Just like how the last 3 halving have turned out. Everyone were expecting another ATH, and the value were unprecedentedly higher than what was everyone was expecting, well expect for those who were over hyped with their 6 digit predictions.
Bitcoin may still fall below $25k even if we are getting closer to the date of the halving, but I'm pretty sure it'll kinda bounce back stronger a few months after.
6  Economy / Economics / Re: Free Investment tips on: September 22, 2023, 06:44:45 PM
You highlighted key points that is very important in our daily lives and investment wise.
These things are not actually free, but we can dedicate ourselves with these factors that we have in our possession to get something good for ourselves especially Education which is the only investment you can have for free in the internet and forums like this one and social media.
With this, I believe you OP.
While free education is readily available on the internet, I believe that those willing to invest a bit of money in their education take a step forward. Self-learning indeed comes with the advantage of freedom, but it is not necessarily more effective than having a teacher.

Certainly, this is an option, whether to opt for paid education or free education. In my opinion, there's no loss in spending money to enhance the quality of one's mind and self.

Spending money for education doesn't only allow you to gain and enhance your knowledge, but that also comes with a certificate from the school or any other learning facilities you're enrolled, and that certificate could help you grow with your job or business.
That certificate could certainly save you time rather than trying to explain and prove that you are capable of such thing because you have learned it yourself. That certificate is a bypass to something you want to achieve, but of course you will need to materialize that certificate as well.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 22, 2023, 05:27:35 AM
You’re all tripping about Dwight Howard. He was forced out of the league because of his sideline and locker on behavior, not because he stopped being an elite center. He’s getting older sure, but he’s still a top 10 center in the league.

Portland trying to force Damian Lillard to training camp. I’m sure he’ll cooperate, but it’s not a good look. Haven’t heard much about the Harden drama lately.
Nothing new on the Harden front according to the article I read. He still wants to go to the Clippers apparently, but so far that hasn't happened.  There are other teams interested like Miami, but only if they don't get Lillard and people are also complaining he is a hard player to coach. Very unprofessional and getting old.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/philadelphia-76ers-many-around-the-nba-question-james-harden-s-professionalism/ar-AA1h4ezs

I guess it's hard to find  pieces for the other team to trade for a veteran superstar who most likely not going to make any difference if not being surrounded by another star or an excellent role players. Can't deny that Dame is not capable of leading a team to a championship, he'd be a great addition to any team who's already built to compete in the playoffs.
It's just ridiculous to think that some veteran superstars are now desperate to have a ring, bad thing is they'll create a drama to make their way out of their respective organisations lol.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did anyone notice this pattern? on: September 22, 2023, 04:18:39 AM

2012 halving - New ATH reached around 1 year after
2016 halving - New ATH reached around 1.5 years after
2020 halving - New ATH reached around 1.5 years after

I know that there are multiple reasons for Bitcoin reaching a new ATH. I do understand that cannot be based on the law of averages. What do you guys think, Is the law of average work here or I am just speculating it?

This pattern is what everyone in crypto space are looking forward to. Majority of the people here knew it's going to be the post-halving where a new ATH will happen with an unprecedented range. I dont know if the law of averages can be applied in this kind of even, but it's more likely the market sentiments that's making a great impact to create this pattern. Pre-halving until the halving takes place is like an accumulation phase, then moving forward a few months the accumulation continues creating a gradual upward price movements, then a year after is where the bullrun officially starts.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting significant amount on: September 21, 2023, 08:45:13 PM
I'm interested what you usually do if that "last bet" turns up to be a winning one. You would obviously stop if you lose but what if otherwise? I've seen people do the same strategy in different games but they decide to keep going when they get lucky on that final bet unless they really have something else to do or when their wife is already mad hehe.

Well, if it turns out a win I guess you'll get back to your regular betting again, unless you're tired and exhausted of the thrill you had and call it a day, then that's a win situation for you, otherwise you'll gonna risk that capital fron lossing again.
I've done it several times before and yes the OP is correct, most of the time you'll end up emptying your bankroll after that 1 last time huge bet because you have mixed emotions and one of those are frustrations, regardless if you feel thrilled with this one last shot, you still can't deny that frustrations will be present.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: September 21, 2023, 07:22:05 PM
I am definitely against gambling around young people.Gambling is a bad habit and addiction. The longer we protect our young people from this bad habit, the better it will be for them.At least it can make their life better if they get involved at a late age rather than getting involved at an early age.Eventually we know that young people get involved in gambling to make money, but I can say that there is a big difference between starting gambling at 18 and starting at 25.
In the meantime, you have done the best thing. Some slots and gambling games are attractive to children and they are curious.

You've got a good point, for the people who are confused about why we always said to younger generations that gambling is bad and it can ruin their financial life or worst their career in the future, when we ourselves as an adult are doing it and it does look like we're fine with it.
So, the goal here is not to let your children see it's totally fine to get involved in gambling. Mold them to be financially stable and it doesn't matter if they get involved latter in the adulting stage because they will be in their right responsible mind when that time comes.
And yes, slots are way too attractive in the eyes of our children Lol!
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mark Cuban's Metamask was hacked on: September 21, 2023, 04:11:39 AM
How can someone who has over $870,000 worth of crypto across his metamask wallet be moved by a promise of eth, which will be around $8k +? This one is really on him, and he should not blame anyone for his mistake. Who knows, this could just be some cheap hackers who don't even know the amount he had in their wallet before they made their hacking attempts, because if they had known, I believe they could have used a higher amount in order to lure him in to the scam.

Just the fifth, which made him lose access to a fortune, well, I don't even think this will hurt him that much.

He's a businessman there some things they take a risks for which we won't be able to understand, just like how he got moved with that ETH promise lol.
Nevertheless, this won't going to hurt his wealth.
He said it could be the Metamask extension that caused the hacking incident, he even said that he hasn't moved this wallet for months until that specific time and so he suspected that he has been watched all the time. Well, obviously yes! Any person with ridiculous amount of wealth will be a primary target for any financial attacks.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 21, 2023, 02:52:26 AM
Shams is reporting that Buddy Hield and the Pacers weren’t able to come to terms on contract negotiations and will now be discussing trade options. I hope the Lakers can get him somehow. Hield is the shooter that LeBron has been needing. He was never happy on the Pacers so this comes as no surprise. I just wish they’d traded him to the Lakers before the Westbrook disaster.

Well, the Lakers have enough  pieces to make this trade possible. I once thought the Lakers will most likely acquire Buddy in 2022, because the speculations were strong during that time, but it did not happen. He could've been a great addition to the team especially in the playoffs were a lot of occasions the Lakers have been missing a lot of three pointers. However, the Lakers current roster is quite decent for another playoff run, so they might get less interested with Buddy, let's what moves they make this time.

Draymond Green had this to say on Twitter (x) about a report that Dwight Howard has been given the all clear to join the Warriors by the vets and will be working out with Dray and CP3 tomorrow.

https://x.com/money23green/status/1704666006696960078

That sure does make it seem like Dwight Howard is going to get another shot in the NBA with the Warriors. That could cause problems for the rest of the league.

This is going to be his last hurrah and the Warriors may take this chances with him and I'm confident he'll be in a Warrior uniform this season.

Totoo ito, I have been using union bank as my primary bank na after ko ma discover yung fees sa app ng ibang bangko na ginagamit ko like LBP at PNB. Yung instapay ng Union is 10 pesos lang while yung other 2 banks is 20-25 pesos per transaction. So, most probably ganito din sila ka baba mag lagay ng fees kung may crypto exchange na sa kanila mobile app. Looking forward to this kasi sigurado akong magagamit ko to kasi fiat to bitcoin and vice versa without leaving the banking app.

Anu ang mga tingin nyo magiging advantage neto at mga magiging impact sa crypto sa pinas?

For sure positive impact yan bro, kasi dagdag convenience narin ito para sa mga traders at mga account holders na nag babalak bumili ng bitcoin.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Learning from those who have experience on: September 20, 2023, 07:25:07 PM
Yes, the point is that whatever the type of addiction is basically the average addiction always leads us to something worse or even very bad, those who live dependently by utilizing loans will not be able to get progress in their lives and especially for some of those who like to spend money it is very clear that when one day they experience something unexpected and urgent that really needs money then they can't do anything except borrow again. I think saving money is a better thing to minimize the unexpected in the future.

If you believe that you can make money in gambling, then allocate some part of your money and try, but credit money in gambling should be taboo.

If someone believe they can make money in gambling then they should limit their expectations to never think that it would give them a progress in life because it would never give them that, regardless of how huge the winning amount is, when there is always an urge to go back to gambling, all these money you've won will drain down eventually.
I just realized that this is where some of the gambling addictions came from, as some gamblers think they could make a fortune one day when they hit their biggest jackpot. Well, it's sad to say gambling isn't designed to make someone reach other than the owner lol, gambling should always be treated as an entertainment.
15  Economy / Economics / Re: Thailand to start taxing overseas income next year, including from crypto on: September 20, 2023, 03:16:57 AM

I have some Thai acquaintances, the situation in Thailand currently, is not crypto friendly. Is This a crazy policy? They already pay taxes on their income, there is no need to do it twice. What do you think will be the response to this news? I mean, let's say you're a foreigner in Thailand, let's say you have income in America does that upset you?

Yeah it is crazy, but for most cases, taxation law allows the authorities to impose tax on anything that you've earned, that means if you have 2 or more job, they will find a way to get you taxed for each income you have earned for each of those jobs/business.
That's the bitter part of all these taxation stuff, especially to an underdeveloped countries. People are paying high taxes only for the government officials to steal it.

Everybody is upset when we're talking about taxations, I think nobody is happy about it lol.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Free spins are also a demo in disguise? on: September 20, 2023, 01:54:26 AM
Are free slots even real? I have tried few casinos that offers free spins on registering on the platforms and I haven't seen any crazy gains with free spins before, have you? That's not why I am here though, I am just curious.

If we consider that the casino is reputable and reputable (has a good reputation), then I would believe that the free spins are indeed fair.

The intention of casinos in offering free spins is to allow their customers to get to know the games better, get used to the game mechanics and decide whether or not they will be willing to bet real money on it.
Following this logical reasoning, how could casinos attract a player's attention if these rounds were manipulated to give him a bad result?
I believe they are as fair as any other.

This made sense. Free spins are supposed to be fair like how every spin you make when you're betting with your own money. Otherwise, no client are going to stay longer in a casino that's obviously being rigged to take money from their clients.
Now, the OP is confused with the free spins he thought it's the same thing as for the demo account, an account which the money from that account is certainly for demo purposes only, which means it doesn't have real value or it's something withdrawable. Demo accounts have the same purpose with free spins, to have the client experience the casino's UI/UX and get familiar with their games, the only thing that differs, is that free spins are the real ones.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UnionBank to offer Bitcoin trading on mobile app in Octomber on: September 19, 2023, 09:23:00 PM
What is your opinion, do you think that banks are slowly starting to adopt Bitcoin?

Source:
https://cointelegraph.com/news/union-bank-of-the-philippines-launches-bitcoin-and-ethereum-trading

It will be available only for select retail customers. Well, I hope this will become successful, since one of my major bank I'm using is Union bank, so it's gonna be easier soon to buy and sell bitcoin or eth without leaving the actual facility that hold my fiat.
One of the main thing I'm hoping here is a reasonable transaction fees. By doing it everything directly from the bank, we were able to save some fees already because we have eliminated the use of an exchange or trading platform, Union bank should maximize this opportunity.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Experience for new and old gambler? on: September 19, 2023, 02:17:03 PM
As like the other field, the gambling also made the huge difference with the experience. If the website also the old one,the gambler can easily make the correct betting using experience. The gamblers without experience will do the random bet as compared to the experienced gamblers. The experienced gambler will take time to bet, they keep analysis of the full game, they take the correct time to bet.Because the same casino and experience alone enough for the good win by the experienced gamblers. The freshers do random bet all the time should be avoided.Just work for a month using the practical experience in the gambling with a small amount of bet and increase the money in some months will help for big win.
Experienced gambler is high unlikely will become a gambling addict because he was used to gamble a lot and he's still don't have any problem caused by gambling. While new gambler without experience are prone to be a gambling addict. But it doesn't mean experienced gambler has higher probability to win than the new gambler, gambling is full of luck, so it's same.

Well, that purely depends. If the old gambler has only devoted spare time and spare change to feed his gambling needs, then I guess he's far from being addicted as he was able to survive all sorts of gambling without getting broke. While the newer one who only experienced one of two kinds of gambling, may have been frequently visiting the casino or online casino, that makes him become more prone to addiction or the addiction is already in the process.
Therefore, we cannot determine a gambling addict base on the length of experience, but it's the severity and uncontrollable urges.
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if there is no crypto bull run for next 10 years ? on: September 19, 2023, 05:09:27 AM
What if there is no crypto bull run for next 10 years ? Will you give up all your investments and get out of crypto because of this ? Or do you you have even more broader horizon and can wait longer to see the next bull run ?

Purely depends on the market sentiments. As of now, there's no way a bullrun will not happen in the next 10 years, judging alone how hype the people are in crypto on the upcoming bitcoin halving. We've seen a lot of companies and small merchants and service providers who gradually accepts bitcoin, so it is already expected that bitcoin will continue to gain more and more popularity as well as the adoption.
Therefore, we should not be worried about this hypothetical question as it's still far from happening.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 19, 2023, 03:04:46 AM
No team wants him anymore even though he's the top leading assist last season. I wonder why hmmm.  Huh Huh

I don't believe Harden will lose his value in this situation. What's certain for now is that Harden won't be playing for the 76ers anymore. As he struggles, the same fate may befall his team, so there's no clear winner in this situation.
No, it's not certain! James Harden will be forced to play with the Sixers this year in order for him to be eligible to sign with any team in the free agency.
Source:
https://fastphillysports.com/hardens-never-ending-nonsense-career-may-be-over-if-hes-mia-for-sixers-camp/
Harden might be lossing a value if he don't play good this season and if his numbers significantly drop.
So, he's left with no choice here but to play with the Sixers just the way he plays, otherwise he will going to have a hard time signing a good value contract.
