Thanks, I was thinking they represent the same wallet.  Can I delete the old one without affecting the new one?

About the CAPS, I was typing it exactly using the right caps.  No question about it.  I have had password issues about 6 times now since using this wallet.  And I am sure each time that I wrote it down and typed the correct thing.  Something is wrong and if I get one more problem I'm going to switch to a wallet other than Electrum.

Thanks for the help!

I decided to be brave and restored the wallet from seed to a new wallet in my existing version of Electrum (2.6.3).

It went fine.

Now I have two wallets and they both say they have the same amount of coins.

I don't understand that.

Thanks

Hi,

I have Electrum 2.63 installed and some bitcoin in the wallet for some time now.  As you can see from previous posts to this thread by me, I have the seed printed out and the password written down.

While sending coins in the past (see below) I have received "Incorrect Password".

I have exited the application and started back up and the password was then accepted.

Now I am having the same "Incorrect Password" issue when trying to send coins.

Is this common?

I will keep trying to exit and restart the app.

What are my other options?

Do I upgrade to the latest version (2.64)?  And how would I do that without losing my existing coins in my wallet on my mac?  I am afraid that the new version will overwrite the old one and I'll lose something.

I know another option is to restore from seed but normally I think you do that with a fresh install of the wallet.  So would I just drag the current Electrum wallet to the trash on the mac, install the new one, then restore from seed?

I'm really looking for advice on the options including the above or something I don't know of.

I am completely a newbie so please help

Thank you

I read some more on google.  Apparently this is a common message.

One person said they switched servers and that worked for them.

So I closed Electrum, tried again.  This time it accepted my password and it failed with a message "Server did not respond".

I closed Electrum again and tried again and it sent it fine.  So I am all good.

But I have lost some faith in this new wallet!

Hello,

I just installed Electrum on my Mac today and followed all of the recommended options for recording the generation seed and the password to encrypt the wallet.  I have all of that written down.

Now that I transferred some bitcoin into the wallet I see this unlocked padlock at the bottom of the screen.  So I clicked on it.  It tells me "Your wallet keys are not encrypted" and asks me to enter my password twice.  I enter what I have recorded and it says "Incorrect Password".

I'm confused.  During the install I chose to encrypt the wallet keys and recorded the password.  Why would it say that they are not encrypted?

I also tried to send bitcoin and got "Incorrect Password".

Thanks
