1  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Raspi 3 mini mining rig setup? on: April 08, 2016, 11:27:51 PM
Here is the setup I used to get a raspberry Pi working took about 20 minutes to setup...

If you follow the steps in my order with the instructions I supplied you should be able to get it up in running in no time... then you can tweak the OS to the way you want it for instance host name, static ip etc then you just ssh to the pi from a computer start up the miner or set the pi to start the miner on its own etc

1. Install 2016-03-18-raspbian-jessie-lite   download free @ https://www.raspberrypi.org
2. Resize Flash Partition  Instructions to do this here: http://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/499/how-can-i-resize-my-root-partition
3. Follow these instruction on how to install cgiminer @ http://www.instructables.com/id/Bitcoin-Mining-using-Raspberry-Pi/

Thankyou for the quick reply...

Sorry I have been busy at work .. have not been too worried about the ssh yet because it has been mining.. but I did solve the problem

I found that I can change the IP address from 192.168.1.99 to a ip of my choice my network router uses 192.168.2.1 so I changed the antminer to 192.168.2.100 everything worked but the ssh...  So the other night I changed my router to use the subnet 192.168.1.1  and changed the antminer to 192.168.1.100 ssh started working instantly.. now my only concern is I want to get the thing to use a different port then port 22 because port 22 is not secure... as soon as I change the port now I get connection refused.. change it back and it works... so I am not sure what to do at this point

I guess I will just leave it at port 22 unless anyone knows what the problem is

thanks

Hi All... I know I have been searching for the answer but can not find it as of yet..

I am new to mining and my ASIC Antminer S1 just arrived today.. I had no problems getting it setup and mining with a pool...

I am having problems setting up the SSH for it.. I was getting connection refused but now I am getting this

Michaels-iMac:.ssh michaeldennison$ ssh -v v -p 28 root@192.168.2.100
OpenSSH_6.2p2, OSSLShim 0.9.8r 8 Dec 2011
debug1: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh_config
debug1: /etc/ssh_config line 20: Applying options for *
ssh: Could not resolve hostname v: nodename nor servname provided, or not known

I don't know why the date and time is different then what it says on the web interface either...

if someone could help or point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it..

thanks
 Mike Dennison
