Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship?

When you talk about financial freedom, gambling is never and can never be a source for anyone to achieve financial freedom.
Gambling will damage your finances, not create financial freedom. Casinos are not a place to make money, so there will never be financial freedom in the world of gambling, as far as I know it will lead to mountains of debt. Can be sure that family and those closest will be the first to ask for a loan, which is where family relationships and friendships will be damaged because of gambling. That will start making problems with their friends, and family members. Many things will change and arise once you've got caught in addiction, some people will understand it but most people will not. In fact, we can't expect that all the people around us will support our addiction and let us borrow their money, for they don't and can lead to having bad relationships, even your partners will never give you that. More often troubles will arise when there is financial problems occur inside and gambling addiction can be a factor in such thing.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel when you look at your first Bitcoin wallet?
|
on: September 23, 2023, 12:41:55 PM

My journey into Bitcoin was entire due to the need to send payment across borders as there was FX and several other restrictions in my country. So, I joined Bitcoin just to use it for cross-border payment without knowing it could actually be a way of creating wealth in the future.
Just recently, I was tempted to check my first ever Bitcoin wallet to see what I have done in the past. I was so depressed seeing the volume of Bitcoin that have passed through my wallet without me saving a reasonable portion of it.
I have the feeling that many forum users too have similar experience; do kindly share just maybe I can feel a little better knowing that I'm not a lone.
Yes, just like you, I total all the withdrawal transactions that I've made and can't imagine that it reaches this amount XXX and wondering where it goes. We could say that holding is not really on our side as we spend them all but for good reason. I'd just also imagine if we all held Bitcoin, what would happen to the market? I'd realized that Bitcoin is not meant for holding but it was created to spend it like fiat money. We can say that most of us consider this as an investment, well yes, but at the same time, we also use this to buy things which means that there is an exchange of goods and money. We sell them because we buy this and this...

Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Possible measures to stop online gambling addiction.
|
on: September 23, 2023, 12:04:08 PM
|
I gamble with a low frequency and I do not think I am addicted to gambling. However, despite taking every piece of advice, if I had difficulty quitting gambling or reducing the frequency of my gambling, I would seek professional support. Psychologists or psychiatrists can help people with gambling addiction. If people with addiction cannot control themselves, they may experience social, financial and psychological problems. Getting help from professionals can help them get their life back. Remember that nothing is initiate suddenly more serious but initiate stage is normal after which everything get worse. If a person is saying that he is just using little money and gamble for fun then it can be assumed that he will be accurately do this but not all the time because little addiction can be altered into worse addiction after the time flows steadily. If you set into mind that you will quite gambling because it is not a good thing and imagine its bad characteristics then you can forget it easily. But if you are trying again and again in the hope to be successful one day then this thing in my opinion is better in other fields but not in gambling. Parents should keep check on their children's activities and if they find their involvement in such things then from start they have to stop them. Addiction is a big problem psychologically and physically, we don't want it to happen to us. But can be possible when we lose control of our gambling habits especially if we are desperate to win and if we are chasing our losses, it causes trouble in our mind and affects our mental capability to determine whether our action is right or wrong. It needs someone who is professional in that situation to help because this is not a casual situation that is easy to manage on our own. The only way to help ourselves from getting into addiction is to know our limits. I know it was hard because we are in the internet era where it is easy to gain access to online gambling but if we really have to control ourselves earlier, I'd see no problem.

Media makes it looks like a done deal that's why many Warriors and Howards fan that it was a success deal between both parties. But news came out and this is unfortunate events since fans is really hype up for the fact that Warriors will get a legit center now. It seems that Kerr will stick to his small ball line up and this is what Warriors fans worried about since many think that they will be dominated back again by Lakers or Nuggets.
That's why we shouldn't assume anything until there's an actual contract in place. The hype they created led people to invest in the story. They knew that the Warriors are a popular team, and people's reactions showed that they believed Howard would be a great addition to the team. However, this news is truly disappointing.

As I said, today they will be having their sale and this topic is a topic for marketing purposes (because I found another one made less than 24 hours ago). So, for anyone, don't be tempted to buy this token, research more deeply first. Whatever they do, this won't change my mind and that of many others out there to invest blindly in a project that never has a use case. To many scam projects in the market, which is why we should not invest if we are not sure of their legitimacy and at least show some interesting idea that could be considered as our assurance to earn a profit. This is new and we are aware about the fact that most of them just promise good things to happen but in the end, it turns scam. We must learn from the past experience and make it a reason why we should be more careful in choosing a project to invest in.

Well, judging from the current sentiment of the market, I can say that some people think negatively about the future of crypto. I could understand because we are not sure when it comes but the majority are still optimistic about it. Can't hide the feeling that I was excited too, however, I don't expect too much from it like thinking it getting to the moon higher than that previous ATH. Well, if it surpasses that much better but can't assure to just hold and wait for that moment, might I be selling my coins not at their peak?

Mail + airdrop + wallet details= scam
Most of these airdrops are scams so newbies should avoid these airdrops. Scammers especially promote fake airdrops on social media. Gmail is a street where a lot of fake scam airdrop mail can be found.
Scams are almost everywhere, it is really hard to trust someone online, especially strangers. These scammers will never stop finding ways just to see someone fall into their trap. A reason why we should not just be aware of their evil doings but also, know how to avoid them and determine if that is a scam or not. Most of their trick is to offer free money, big bonuses, and rewards while encouraging you to invest more. They are actually nice to you at first but later on, intentions are revealed when you already fall into their traps.

Last bull run was 2021 and after that, altcoins price dumped a lot. In 2022, we noticed a little pump and in this year 2023, altcoins pumped a lot, if compare altcoins price chart after end of bull run. So have you able to gained anything after the end of last bull run? Or last bull run makes you dumped and you are still trying to regain what you have lost?
Sadly, after the bull run the price dropped eventually and made me hold as I had no choice but at least I already sold some to use as my investment capital. However, it gives me no reason to regret it as I see this as another opportunity to buy more and earn more when the bull season comes again. Well, if those days that the price of Bitcoin is below $20k and they sell them at this time, it is a profit already. But I decided to just hold and make a journey for the next Bull Run because that is my plan.

I believe that there is a good time to trade. When using a scalping strategy we must also consider the situation as it works in a time where we can see highly volatile. In fact, 1 minute is quite long when scalping it is probably because there is a problem on your side or the exchange that you are using. Tried to use huge exchanges with high trade volume as I can expect you can make a profit from there but of course, don't make withdrawals right away but rather accumulate more profit and then withdraw just to save the fees.

Phoenix news is reporting that the Dallas Mavericks made a trade offer to the Phoenix Suns for DeAndre Ayton but it apparently was a very bad offer so they declined. I’m actually glad they did and hope they hold onto him. I think Ayton was a big part of their run for the Finals and with a new coach I’m expecting him to have a big year.
They cannot mess up the current roster as they are starting to build great chemistry already. Ayton is not a bad player; he probably just had a problem with the previous coach, so we have to give him the benefit of the doubt and see if he can perform well in the coming season. With Durant as their new leader, I expect to see a dominant team, as Bradley Beal will surely be 100% healthy when the season starts. There will be significant changes in the lineup that could affect their chemistry. Having a versatile center with great perimeter shooting is already a significant advantage over others. I think they should keep him, as there are only a few big men who can do that nowadays. Ayton is still young and healthy, so it's necessary for him to be in the lineup, while Durant, Booker, and Beal should focus on offense.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How did Ripple (XRP) become so popular and blow up in price?
|
on: September 21, 2023, 12:18:18 PM

It was indeed popular because of its long issue against the SEC but despite the situation that the team had faced, they still managed to become strong and retain their users and investors. I don't know what makes it special but still, many people keep holding and waiting for its bullish prices. I'm not sure but for me, I'd never see XRP as a profitable investment because I've tried accumulating some, but unfortunately, never see huge changes on my wallet as it was almost the same at the time I bought it. So I decided to sell them and buy other coins rather than holding XRP.

I definitely agree that bitcoin trading gives more opportunities and creates more rewards than simply bitcoin hodling. But let us all know that bitcoin trading has bigger risk and higher chances of losing especially if you rush into trading without sufficient knowledge and honed skills and strategies that will make you win your trades. I believe a lot are doing this and so they end up losing. And realized in the end that there’s bitcoin hodling that will still give them excellent profits as long as they can withstand the high volatility of the market.
I could agree as I've tried it and lost my entire capital. This will tell me that trading couldn't be for everyone because I believe that there are people who really meant for this and I don't see I was fit in trading but just for holding. Also, we can see some people are the opposite, they are pretty good at trading but not good at holding. In means that everyone has differences and passions in life so we can choose the best thing for us. Some people force themselves to become a trader and suffer losses, I don't think it was a smart decision either.

You would really feel the essence of gambling once you experience it with your heart. It's a sign that you are risking a decent amount of money, where you will be so happy if you win and so sad when you lose. As much as possible, I try to control my emotions, as not all the time I win. What if I lose most of the time? It makes me upset and might affect my future endeavors in life.
Maybe gamble with just a small amount of money, just to feel the thrill. But if you decide to go full-time or take gambling seriously, at least learn how to control your emotions, as they are not what's necessary to win; it should be the mind.

Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12
|
on: September 21, 2023, 05:09:23 AM

However, the burden is for Casimero to come up with big wins before he could fight Inoue, or at least Top Rank and his Japanese counterpart will be interested. So with the Oguni fight and the video resurfacing that Casimero is trying hard because he wants to fight Inoue next, it should be interesting on how Casimero will dispatch Oguni in their fight.
On paper, yes, but among the fans, Inoue dodging Casimero will have a negative impact on his legacy. Just like Mayweather, who is undeniably a great fighter and was undefeated when he retired, but people still talk more about Pacman and believe that he had a better career than Mayweather. I think in boxing, it's the fans who should be followed, and since they want to see Inoue fight Casimero, I think the champion should make that happen. It's not good for Inoue, though. He has some baggage left as he moves up in weight. As long as Casimero is still active in boxing, people will continue to link him to Inoue. I also think that if Inoue were to move up, Casimero might follow, especially if his goal is to prove to the world that he can beat Inoue, whom he called a turtle.

Those people who settle into thinking bitcoin as a get rich quick will definitely change their bitcoin outlook once they started their real investment with bitcoin. Instead of expecting fast and consistent profits, they will experience the other way around, and most probably more on losses than gains. With personal experience from bitcoin, I'm quite sure that the thinking about bitcoin as a get rich quick tool will never be entertain again.
It's not anything new to be honest. People invest to get rich and they expect that the volatile nature of Bitcoin would yield them plenty of profits while it's not going to be like that as we expected. There are people thinking that just because celebrities like Musk would mention Bitcoin or a couple of altcoins would give them "EZ PZ" profits. I doubt that the newer generation would see Bitcoin first as a decentralized crypto since money and its value is like an issue these days. That is the result of these social media influencers saying that investing in crypto will make us rich without mentioning that it takes years before it happens. So what is in their mind is that after buying today, they will earn a profit tomorrow, and the next day, they become rich. That is why many people also say that Bitcoin is a scam thing because it fails their expectations. If we fully understand how Bitcoin investment works, it is possible the growth of investors is getting low. More people become worried and doubtful if they know the huge risk behind it because most of us want assurance and are afraid to lose any amount.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The ATISFY Project Is Suspected to Be a ShitCoin

on: September 20, 2023, 12:16:24 PM

The project owner's lack of information about the team, coupled with no one overseeing the wallet linkage for actual usage, or perhaps just for swapping, raises concerns about whether this project is a worthwhile investment of time. With only a website in place and lacking the community engagement channels that other projects typically have, it appears to be quite limited in scope. This is the project's website: https://atisfy.io/Reputation is very important when choosing an investment and in the absence of that feature, it was reasonable enough to reject that project. And this project that you have mentioned OP, it was clear enough to say that it was not just a useless project but it was also a scam project. No way it will win the hearts of investors but certainly, it was ignored. So many projects like this and I'm just wondering why still there are investors that have fallen into this kind which in fact, it was visible enough to see how worthless it was.

Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - Nov 15
|
on: September 20, 2023, 07:59:10 AM
|
But then again, it will have to defend his belt against the former champion Ancajas. Jerwin might have a good chance to win as Takuma is not well known to be a puncher like his brother. And Ancajas might have adjusted to 118 lbs already after his 9 successive wins at 115 lbs and most likely he had a hard time making that weight that's why he has back to back loses.
This is a fight that has fans split 50/50. There isn't a clear superior boxer in this matchup, not even the reigning champion. Jerwin has held the championship before, so he's no stranger to this situation. I'm confident he will give it his all, train diligently, and employ a smart strategy to regain his championship. In the bantamweight division, there aren't many vastly superior champions, so if Jerwin wins, he could find more success here, possibly even in an undisputed bout. We're going to find out once the odds become available, but given that this fight is just under two months away, it's a bit early for betting odds on a match that isn't very well-known. No offense intended, this is a championship fight, but it hasn't gained much popularity, especially since Naoya (the brother of Takuma) left the division. It has gradually lost some of its appeal, and now we're paying closer attention to the super bantamweight division. Although the odds aren't available yet, I've already predicted that Inoue will be the heavy favorite. We can't deny that the thrill of watching fights without Naoya is different, as most boxers in this division possess regular skills, unlike Inoue, who can truly dictate the pace by dominating his opponents. I've even watched some of his fights where his opponents hesitate to engage in the ring, fearing they might get hit and knocked out. So, even in what appears to be a one-sided fight, the excitement builds when Inoue's opponent faces the possibility of a knockout.

Oh wow, you still think you are right. U must be a cupcake fan then. Tell me 1 all nba caliber player that Lillard played with please! LeMarcus Aldridge, lol. Now tell me who Durant played with please! Yeah that’s right! Nonsense at its best. It’s like saying Ben Simmons and Kyrie are the same, hahaha.
Anyway, keep supporting KD, he needs fans like you.
PS: KD joined a stacked Warriors team with multiple Allstars and an all time record 73:9 wins. Lillard want to go to a team that had a 44:38 record, hahaha. 29 losses more than the Warriors. But they are the same apparently.
Looks like you're a big hater of KD. And you have the point but regardless with the teamates KD is way better than Dame let's say on a 1v1. Even in the current situation both not in their prime I still gonna pick KD over Dame. If you disagree with this ama say you're not really watching NBA. KD is way better in all aspect against Dame. Ama all in KD against Dame. It's undeniable that KD has won multiple championships, been a scoring champion, and earned the title of Finals MVP. I'm uncertain if Lillard will be able to achieve at least one of those feats. He may appear exceptional because he's the primary figure on his team, similar to Westbrook's situation when he was traded to another team, where he faced numerous challenges. KD, on the other hand, consistently elevated his teams. This is my personal opinion as well. As fans, we may have biases, but it's essential to consider the achievements.

This fight is just four days away, and I'm quite surprised that 85% of the poll voters here believe that Zhang will once again win via KO. Judging by the odds, it's a close fight, and given that both boxers are KO artists, it's unlikely to go the full 12 rounds. It would be a nice redemption story if Joyce can come through and potentially set up a trilogy, ensuring that his career doesn't falter after a promising start.

I haven't check the odds though, maybe Joyce is still the favorite but it should be very close, unlike the first fight wherein I think Joyce is a huge favorite. So it's redeem time for Joyce or Zhang making it 2-0 and it's not going to be good for Joyce in this division.
It's a very close matchup. On the sportsbook I checked, here are the betting odds for the moneyline: Zhang: 1.84 Joyce: 1.93 It appears to be almost a 50/50 situation, with the bookies factoring in their margin. While Zhang may have the momentum, these odds indicate the respect bookies have for Joyce, suggesting they still consider the first fight a significant upset win for Zhang.
