1001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 30, 2023, 12:17:59 PM
The Pacers are hanging tough against the Bucks, end of second half, they are just down 4, 69-73.

What's interesting is that Giannis has almost a triple double this early, with 20 points and 10 rebounds and 9 assists. The Bucks is the overwhelming favorite in this game obviously as there are no Haliburton and Myles in the line up for the Pacers. So let's see in the 2nd half of the game, the initial spread is like -9.5 for the Bucks to win and if the Pacers keeps in competitive, they might not cover it, just saying.

It was Jrue Holiday who bring it with the Bucks as he registered 51 big points in this game. Giannis has his triple double and it was very close till the first half and even at the start of the 3rd quarter.

But as I have said, Holiday and Giannis combine in the 4th and Brook Lopez again having a good game as well. The Pacers really missed it's top scorer in this game and it's just a matter of time before the Bucks find their rhythm and that's what happen to this game.

Jrue Holiday has found his groove playing with the Bucks and has improved every year. Additionally, he is not injury-prone, which means he can be a reliable asset for the team. In my opinion, he has surpassed Middleton as the team's second-best player. With his contributions and the team's overall performance, I believe the Bucks have a strong chance to succeed this season and could even defeat the Celtics if they meet again.
1002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Nghitumbwa (May 3) on: March 29, 2023, 01:44:38 AM

But it's okay if you think Nghitumbwa might able to beat Casimero, the odds is really high if you bet Nghitumbwa to win in this fight. This reminds me the fight between Rolando Romero vs Gervonta Davis, Romero was a KO artist but he got KO'ed by Davis.

It's really a good fight for Casimero because he won't be dealing with someone who is not willing to go clash in the middle of the ring against him. This guy might not be famous but I think, he will gonna go dance with Casimero in the middle of the ring without running and I think this fight might not go to the judges' decision because we all know that Casimero has been frustrated with his last fight and wanted to regain back his honor and popularity. He will finish this guy as soon as possible but at the same time, he should be more careful because he can also get knockout as well by Nghitumbwa.

Definitely, if he plans to engage in a dance with Casimero, he will need to ensure that he has a solid chin and body. Casimero is skilled in identifying the weaknesses of his opponents, so any flaws will likely be exploited. It's worth noting that he hasn't won an impressive victory in recent times, so perhaps this bout will end without any controversy and gradually elevate Casimero's standing in this division.

This is Casimero's first fight this year, so he will need to start strong if he hopes to secure an opportunity to fight against a top challenger or champion in this division.
1003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: March 29, 2023, 01:28:45 AM

Haney and Mayweather's way of fighting is almost the same that's why the fight between Haney and Kambosos Jr. (first fight) became one of the most boring fights I've ever watched to the point that I slept while watching the fight.

Definitely the same, but Floyd was way more boring than Haney. Even though they are both good fighters, it wouldn't be surprising if their opponents received more cheers than them, with the audience watching the fight hoping that the boring fighter gets knocked out. However, this is Loma we're talking about, and he is a technical fighter. He has already proven in the past that he can beat a boring fighter, as seen in his fight against Guillermo Rigondeaux.
1004  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Nghitumbwa (May 3) on: March 28, 2023, 01:21:02 PM
But this does not mean that Nghitumbawa punches are weak too.  Making 11 of his 13 opponents kiss the canvas means the boxer has a deadly punching power.  So we should not underestimate the guy because his opponent is unknown.  Isn't Manny Pacquiao a not well-known boxer before he fights Ledwaba?
I understand, but it's really different because if you watch the replay of Nghitumbwa's fought, you will see his footwork is really weird and he almost slipped for few times due to bad footwork Tongue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mNVE3_dRKQ

The stats alone are not the right basis for predicting the winner of this fight. Honestly, it's my first time hearing the name Nghitumbwa, but Casimero has been popular even before he moved up. However, it's okay if some think that Nghitumbwa might beat Casimero, as that's their personal opinion. Besides, we never know the outcome of a future fight.

Although this may not be a tough challenge, Casimero is still considering it a big fight. If he loses against Nghitumbwa, there will be no reason for him to continue fighting as his dreams will be too far to achieve.
1005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Nghitumbwa (May 3) on: March 26, 2023, 11:58:57 AM
Something is better than nothing, and it's still early, so if Casimero wins this fight, we can expect to see him fight again later this year. While Inoue is recovering from an injury, Casimero is challenging himself by staying active in the ring. This is a good sign that he will be successful in the new division. To reach his goals, he needs to be consistent in winning.

I'll search for some highlights of Nghitumbwa on YouTube since he is an unknown fighter to me.
1006  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 26, 2023, 10:39:38 AM
Donaire's killer move is his counter hook punch where many boxer fell prey.  But the question would be, with the current age of Donaire, will he still have that fast reflex and reaction in order to deliver that deadly punches?

I understand your concern though although what I can say about that is, he still can deliver that deadly punches.

My only reference is, Donaire is not against a considered top-ranked boxer therefore, we are not expecting an Inoue-type of opponent here where Donaire's age is playing a big role. Age does matter and that's usual but against Santiago, I don't really consider age as a factor.

However, if Donaire will struggle against Santiago, no way Donaire can even match with other top-ranked boxers in the bantamweight.
In this fight with Santiago, let's set aside the age of Donaire, as I believe it won't be a hindrance for him to still deliver his accurate punch. Donaire has many experience already with many top boxers and I think it's one of his advantage because he can adjust to the level of his opponent. I agree that if he struggle in this fight with Santiago then it would be hard already to match with top boxers, not because we underestimate Santiago but it is a fact for Donaire's career.

Exactly. Based on paper, Donaire is the better fighter, so his age should not matter in this fight. As long as he can still fight, he should be listed as the heavy favorite against a mediocre fighter like Santiago. This fight should not be boring since Santiago would surely be aggressive, knowing he is the underdog. A KO win on his side would also give him the popularity he wants. Imagine beating a superstar in boxing.

We all know that Santiago is not a champion, while Donaire has already become a champion many times in different divisions. Therefore, experience-wise, Donaire has the advantage and in terms of power, he still has it. In my opinion, the quality of his opponent is not that good, so we can expect that the fans will favor Donaire, which is the reason why he is the heavy favorite here.
1007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 26, 2023, 09:52:51 AM

Clippers vs Pels - I'll go with the Clippers at home here, -4.5 @1.88

It's too bad that the Clippers lost again. They certainly miss the services of Paul George, and Leonard struggled with only 12 points due to a poor shooting night. I hope Paul George can return soon so that this team can be competitive in the playoffs. Right now, I don't trust the Clippers, so I'll choose to bet on other teams instead, especially the Warriors, who have been impressive at home
1008  Economy / Gambling / Re: How succesful will AI projects be to win the house? on: March 26, 2023, 08:37:59 AM
Do you think AI will be more successful to get a working gambling strategy to win the house... and if they do, what will be the impact on casinos?

Definitely, it will not work because when we are talking about the house, there's always an advantage in their favor, and we cannot beat them if we want to be a long-term gambler. AI cannot predict what will happen in the future; it can only provide us with information necessary for us to analyze our bets. This particularly works in sports betting, but only if AI can provide the latest information, which I think ChatGPT does not have the capability for now.
1009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 25, 2023, 01:02:37 PM
Here are the betting odds for tomorrow's games:

Meralco vs TNT: -5.5
SMB vs Ginebra: -2.5

There has been a significant change in the odds for the TNT vs Meralco game. Initially, TNT was favored by only -3.5 points, but due to their blowout win, the odds have moved slightly. I am now enticed to bet on TNT as I believe they will win by double digits.
1010  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 24, 2023, 10:25:32 AM
Ginebra won by 9 points, and that’s a good win for the first game. Yes, this will be a long series because they wanted that way and fans will surely love that to see the good teams getting neck and neck to advance in the finals. We are now in the exciting match up between Meralco and TNT. Obviously TNT is the favorite here since they ended the elimination at the top seed, this will be a big challenge for Meralco.

SMB had a huge comeback to tie the game, but in the end, they still fell short. It was a good win by Ginebra, who doesn't solely rely on their import, making them a very dangerous team. Additionally, Malonzo showed a lot of highlights in the game, which ignited the fans.
1011  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 24, 2023, 07:35:58 AM
^ An important game for them (the Lakers) tomorrow as they go up against the Oklahoma City Thunder, who they are tied with for the last play-in tournament spot along with the New Orleans Pelicans. The Lakers winning this game would give them a little separation and maybe take off a little of the pressure of not making the play-in tournament at least.
Indeed, it's going to be a tough game as OKC is also trying to secure their chance in the play-in tournament. The only advantage the Lakers have is their home court advantage because I believe OKC is the better team overall. I'm not sure, but I think I like to bet on the road team just to go against the public.
I would still follow the trend, although you are right that OKC is probably the better team. The Lakers have won most of their games at home, so we can expect them to play harder at home and try to beat OKC, who is their rival in the play-in qualification.

The current lineup of the Lakers is good enough to beat OKC, in my opinion.
1012  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Experience of failure and success can help us control the emotions. on: March 23, 2023, 09:59:27 PM
In trading the number one enemy is our self emotions, many trader loss because they can't control thier emotions and it really affects thier decision making and sometimes it will become a reason for the big loss, in crypto we cannot be free from different emotions because everytime market condition is changing and it is really a high volatility market, i think experienced had a very big role on decision making, is this a reason why most of the newbie loss is it because they don't have enough of experience?
Controlling our emotions will always be hard as we are used that in everything we do, we always consider our own emotions. But in trading, the more you use your emotions, the bigger chances you’ll keep on losing. Most particularly if you lack the knowledge and experiences that you need as a trader. That’s the reason why new traders should never trade unless they are ready, mentally and emotionally. Otherwise, if they still insist to trade because of greed for profits, their money will just go into waste and end up losing them.
1013  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Taking loan for investment can be life threatening on: March 23, 2023, 09:36:05 PM
Yes, it’s really life threatening especially if you have no means to pay for it. I guess you worry a lot, which I also understand because your uncle might lost everything more than he knew it. And with that, there’s nothing you can do but prepare for the future losses. This might teach your uncle to never trust anyone especially when huge amount of money is at risk. There’s nothing you can do about it, but to wait for the result before you take a new action that will make him recover his losses. Maybe this time, your uncle will be more cautious about the risk.
1014  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are Casino Sites Cheating Us? on: March 23, 2023, 08:54:02 PM
Most of the time I play Blackjack & Dice.  I have always noticed that when I bet a large amount I am a loser when it comes to Dice.  Also in case of Blackjack when I bet big amount I get wrong card due to which I lose the bet. On the other hand when I bet small amount I win in case of Dice and if I bet small amount multiple times I win multiple times.  In Blackjack, when I bet small amounts, I am always get good cards and win the bets. Thus the cycle continues.  I have noticed that it is not an easy thing to withdraw from having achieved something great. I always gamble for fun with small amounts and lose them but I don't care. But I started playing blackjack yesterday with $1k and noticed that the casino sites are somehow cheating us. I lost my $1k yesterday. through Blackjack. What do you think about casino site algorithms?  Are they cheating with us?

It depends on which site you are gambling on and if that site is using provably fair algorithm where you can verify the output yourself.
If they are not doing it then there are chances that the site might be cheating you.
How did you lose all the $1k in just one day. At least you should have played with 25% of the amount and kept the rest for other days.
Sometimes it's just about the luck. It work one day and it might not on others.
With 25% amount you could have tried your luck on 4 days and go to know if the site is really cheating you or not.
Betting all in is never advisable if you can’t afford to lose it, as gambling never guarantees you to win in the end. Maybe cheating is really possible in some casinos but we can’t really tell as to how it can be done as most of the casino these days have already adopted a provably fair games that will allow the players to verify the fairness of their bets. So it’s hard to tell if there is really cheating or it’s only you who have suspected that there’s any. However, if you gamble responsibly at the beginning, you will never experience a huge loss.
1015  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can do better job opportunities if empower by government on: March 23, 2023, 08:27:27 PM
It is unrealistic to expect that governments or centralized financial organizations will readily accept Bitcoin. Even if they do, they are unlikely to fully embrace it and may even resist the crypto industry. While a handful of countries, such as El Salvador, have adopted cryptocurrencies, a closer examination reveals that they have not necessarily benefited greatly, particularly if the government decides to invest in Bitcoin. Therefore, other governments are likely to scrutinize the potential impact of adopting Bitcoin before making any decisions. It is important to note that significant changes will not occur overnight, and it will take a considerable amount of time for governments and centralized financial organizations to fully embrace and adapt to Bitcoin.
Bitcoin might increase job opportunities for jobless people if the government is open for new innovations and will support bitcoin instead of banning it. But I think it’s really hard for a centralized government to adopt a decentralized cryptocurrency especially if they can never control its existence. However, there’s always a positive chance that the government will start to support bitcoin in the future, we just need to wait for the government to embrace bitcoin as it may take long years of processing before it’s bound to happen.
1016  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which one would you rather work for on: March 22, 2023, 10:45:38 PM
Both are cryptocurrency exchanges so I guess the work demands will be similar but the environment may differ, so if I am to choose between binance and uni swap I will choose Binance.

This is because binance happened to be the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange and at that, the payment will be higher and there is will more room for me to develop, so I may base my choice on the above mention reasons.
I would also chose Binance over Uniswap, because there is clearly higher stability on the company itself, and to think that there are still more chances of development if Binance will continue to conquer the world as a crypto exchange. And of course, to see my career growth too as I am very positive that I can develop my best version when I am working in a stable and secure company.
1017  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how much money is considered as "invest only what you can afford to lose" on: March 22, 2023, 10:16:38 PM
Investing in Bitcoin or any other crypto has always been like wagering in a casino.
I would not describe bitcoin investments as the same as gambling in a casino. Ever heard the phrase “the house always win”? Casinos are designed in such a manner that the owners are always in profit even when you think you’re winning. Biycoin is decentralized so there is no owner or one body controlling the system, the same can’t be said for altcoins. One may describe buying altcoins as gambling because the risks are too great and historically there is a tendency of altcoins project to exit the market early.
Investing, as long as you are knowledgeable on the projects you plan to invest, no matter how risky it is, you can always lessen the risk and not to fall for investing like gambling. That’s the advantage we can get from bitcoin investment because you know you can rely from it since it’s a secure investment. Unlike investing with altcoins, it may fall like gambling as altcoins have no guarantees if they can still survive after years of hodling, or they will just end up as dead coins and lost their value. However, as long as investing is concerned, always invest with an amount you can afford to lose regardless of what investment it is.
1018  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Never Trade on Emotions on: March 22, 2023, 09:56:37 PM
Emotions are a double-edged blade. For example, an emotion such as fear and anxiety may lead you to lose part of your investment. An emotion such as desire is what makes you invest in a high-risk investment. Otherwise, why not settle for the 5% that banks give you?
So I control feelings is the solution and not consider them an enemy.
Well, it’s more on easily said than done. Because when we are actually in the real market scenario, be it trading or investing, just when you see the market is not doing well, you will eventually feel your emotions become out of control, and the more your emotions become affected, the more chance you lose from your trades. That’s the reason if we can’t control our emotions, it’s best not to deal with a highly volatile market to avoid losses.
1019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Game do you think is a Game of Chance or a Game of Skill? on: March 22, 2023, 09:28:40 PM
Slots is a game of chance or luck, you don't know what will be the next spin on the reel. And everything is based on RTP, and with that, most likely gamblers are going to lose their money on it. But the twist is that it's more fun to play with this slot machine games.

For Poker, yeah, there are professional pokers around the world, and this is more on the game of skill, you learn how to play with your cards, bluff your opponents or even read your opponents and guess what will be their card and so you will form your own strategy against them.
Well, we can’t deny that these games listed above certainly need luck so you can beat your opponents. However, with poker and blackjack, though these games require luck and chances, but they can be beaten more if you focus on your skill and develop your strategy to win. Unlike most of the casino games, blackjack and poker are more on skill and strategy, and you can maximize your returns or gains if you play them skillfully.
1020  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do You Feel Inadequate or Inspired After Watching These Types of Traders Content on: March 21, 2023, 10:12:16 PM
I can never felt intimidated, although that is me from when I have known about intimidation. I do not feel intimidated, life is not the same for everyone and someday may become mine. I try to focus on my trading and anything stupid thinking like intimidation may result into a failed trading.

I use to say this: if you are a trader, you have to do away with everything that can make your mindset to be of low or poor quality. Focus on yourself and how you can achieve your long term goal in life.

Among all, I am happy, there is nothing better than joy and happiness. The little I gained from trading is enough for me.
Being intimidated could lead to envy in the future, that’s why i honestly avoid it as much as I can. Instead, I just focus on improving my craft and helping myself grow in trading through engaging into different strategies and develop those who have potentials that will help me succeed in the future. However, if these are really happening, then I’m happy for them as much as I am happy with where I am right now.
