I gave my friend 10 mBTC for his birthday back on April 1st (the day we first hit $100). Was worth $1 at the time, now it's about to be worth $10.  Cheesy And he called me a cheapskate at first too....

Even now , you're still a cheapskate Cheesy

Probably, but he might not think that 5 years from now.  Grin

229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Got Litecoins? on: November 26, 2013, 06:03:43 PM
Yes. I bought 200 back in March for only $0.50 each.

Sold at $1.

Thought I made off like a bandit.

Now I just feel like a dumbass.
230  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do Partial Purchases still push up price? on: November 26, 2013, 12:05:11 PM
Depends on what the orderbook looks like.

If there are 1,000 coins for sale at $900, 0.5 really does nothing other than now needing 999.5 coins to push the price over $900.

I used to be able to move the price around on Bitfloor with <1 BTC (this was after the April crash). Then one day I took a nap, woke up, and saw that I had 5 minutes to convert my USD into BTC because the exchange was shutting down.

I can see the top 4 or 5 coins on that list making it.
232  Economy / Speculation / Re: how overbought is bitcoin? on: November 26, 2013, 11:10:00 AM
Forget Bitcoin being overbought, you should check out the crazy cryptocurrency boom. Novacoin, seriously?  Cheesy
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The Cryptocurrency Bubble on: November 26, 2013, 11:08:07 AM
The current rise in crypto prices is similar to the 90's tech bubble. Lots of worthless coins seemingly going up in value. Chances are, a good chunk of these coins aren't around two or three years from now. But speculators gonna speculate.

So which coin survives?
234  Economy / Speculation / Re: Schiff is so jealous on: November 26, 2013, 10:13:47 AM
Lol...people did try telling me about it 2 years ago, but I didn't pay attention at first because it was after the mtgox hack.
235  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 25, 2013, 09:48:42 PM

Holy shit what a fucking moron. Some people REALLY need to be protected from themselves. Obviously, no risk no gain but people like that don't deserve that amount of money.

No they don't deserve it, and that's why he has nearly lost it all. Unfortunately for his sister too.
236  Economy / Speculation / Re: Thanksgiving massacre? on: November 25, 2013, 09:41:03 PM
For some, Thanksgiving was October 14th.
237  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tired of the 800's on: November 24, 2013, 01:22:41 AM
I don't understand your logic. If you believe in bitcoin why sell it? To buy what? If you don't need to sell then why do it. The only option I see as a reason is to pay off debt and to live a debt free lifestyle. If not. Just hold eventually you will just spend them like normal and you will spend less than you need because the value will continually increase. Not to mention.... 40% tax on that!!!!!! Go ahead cash out for cash, pay taxes on it. Or just sit on it and just spend it. No tax! hmmmmmmmmmm

Basically, I have enough, and more.

Well, if that's the case.

239  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-11-19 WashingtonPost: Bitcoin needs a central banker on: November 21, 2013, 04:35:39 PM
How is the Fed supposed to manage the bitcoin supply? Buy up 30-50% of the coins that exist? Where will they get the money?? Supply and demand would set in big time and the amount of US dollars required to buy one bitcoin would skyrocket.
240  Economy / Speculation / Re: US Treasury issued $1 trillion in debt in the last 6 weeks on: November 21, 2013, 03:57:28 PM
Are you saying now is not a good time to invest in US dollars??
