There is no Monero ban in Japan, just a recommendation by the FSA and so far no one has followed this recommendation. Also, the recommendation is probably due to the Coincheck hack and the Coincheck delisting of privacy coins. So, just the usual FUD which isn't based on facts or reality. currently the monero price is only $218, that means there is a 20% drop from the price of $270 on the 4th of May yesterday. but I am concerned his price will continue to decline, as other countries will be affected to ban the use of monero in his country.
Check the BTC/XMR chart which is more relevant. Monero was 0.025 on May 4th and is 0.024 today, which is a 4% drop. Alts always go down when BTC goes down. The rest of what you wrote is lame FUD, there is no ban anywhere.

There is no ban in Japan, just a recommendation by the FSA(Financial Services Agency) and so far no one has followed it. From your linked article: “Unfortunately, Coincheck and Monex already delisted all three currencies a while ago. So far, they are the only companies to do so.” So, two exchanges delisted XMR (and others) but not related to this FSA recommendation because it was before that. So, writing “XMR banned on more and more exchanges” is clearly exaggerated for dramatic effect. Also the coincheck (and perhaps Monex) delisting is probably related to the coincheck hack (as I’ve read somewhere). Something about them being afraid that the privacycoins could be used to obfuscate the stolen NEM. Perhaps that decision even influenced the FSA in their recommendation.

Brutal couple of weeks for Monero, has virtually been left behind on the run up.
Maybe now its rid of the forks it can make some moves.
Monero has a bit of a tradition of being more stable during both alt bulls and alt bears. Until it decides to take a quantum leap. At least this is the way things have gone for XMR in the past. It's pretty common to feel like you are missing out on the party when you hold Monero. Monero throws it's own parties. Still one of my favourite posts in this thread: It's not about HW wallets or anything, XMR is being price suppressed because big players are accumulating it big time. As someone said smart money is well aware of monero and they want to keep it as much as they can for themselves until inflation is low and they can mark the price way up
Didn't you guys notice we always are the last to pump ? its because pump happen in hierarchical orders, first you get the shittest of the the shitcoins with the wierd names like GROESTLECOIN and so on, then you got noob coins and strange coins and semi good coins, and when smart money has taken dumb money for as much as they can they pump XMR because they need to store their accumulated wealth somewhere, and whats the better place than monero?
Next year, we'll be at 4% inflation, this is bitcoin level now, and then quickly we'll be under bitcoin yearly inflation... this will be the time to mark up the price BIG TIME, I'm talking BTC current level
This is a slow play, this is like poker when you got quad aces and you want to take as much as you can from the noobs, you take your time, you let dumb money bids and buy DRAGONCHAIN and then you put your profit back into XMR.
RINSE and REPEAT until we're at 2-3% inflation and price is above 10K and doesn't come back.

Ok I'm a couple of paragraphs into this MoneroV-Roadmap and I can say with certainty this is complete fud. For example, Monero's infinite coin supply MoneroV adheres to core Austrian school of economics principles and caps the total amount of XMV coins that can be created to 256 million Ha, this is the funniest part, calling Moneros supply infinite and then having such a high supply. When will Monero supply reach 256 million? In the year 100 million? But all these forks really put Monero up there with BTC even more, now that we get our own line of scam forks.

I think this crash was planned and orchestrated, many things came together and created this perfect storm:
- The mid January (Asian New Years) sell off.
- CMC removing Korea without announcement.
- Whales dumping and weak hands jumping in.
- The mainstream media (and even Cointelegraph and others) writing fake news FUD articles every other day (whenever it went up a little). So many fake news articles: Korea bans Crypto, India bans crypto, the list goes on.
- Tether FUD. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? People just assumed that they are scammers. The reserve banks of the world print unlimited money and pump it into the economy, stock market etc. But Tether is the BIG problem?
- The 100 richest Bitcoin adresses have increased and not decreased their holdings during the last four weeks.
Anyway, this correction / crash might also be a good thing, a lot of people came in for the wrong reasons, not caring about blockchain technology at all, expecting to get rich in a few month. This might be a needed cleanse and gve a fresh start. At least thats what I’m telling myself.

If Monero cant be tracked, has unlimited block size, transactions are really fast and its supply is very small. WHY IS THE PRICE SO LOW?. I expect Monero to be worth millions per coin if the scalability issue is not solved in BTC. Also, all that hidden money around the world could get in MONERO

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Gems seems to be one of the most interesting ICO projects of 2018.

Just stumbled upon this project. Has anybody here heard of it? From their website: "Gems is the protocol for decentralized mechanical turk. People will use Gems to complete micro tasks. There are 3 levels to Gems: Gems Protocol: The Gems Protocol assesses the validity of work and trust of network participants; DApps will be built on top of the Gems Protocol Gems Platform: The first platform built off of the Gems Protocol; pairs workers and requesters for micro tasks. Modules: Reusable open-source task interfaces built on the Gems Platform Anyone can build on the Gems Protocol, creating innovative verification methods for new types of work. For a quick introduction to Gems, you can check out our blog post: https://blog.gems.org/introducing-gems-the-protocol-for-decentralized-mechanical-turk-8bd5ef29ca82. For a more in-depth exploration, you can read our white paper: https://gems.org/whitepaper.pdf. What are micro tasks? Micro tasks are small, simple tasks that require human judgment and can be completed independently over the Internet. Examples of micro tasks include labelling pictures and transcribing audio to text. You can read more about micro tasks in our blog post dedicated to them. What problem does Gems solve? Gems reduces consensus by redundancy, increases pay for individual workers while decreasing total pay for requesters, creates efficient interfaces, eliminates large fees, allows others to build innovative DApps on top of it, and enables computer literate workers with internet to work with or without a bank account." So this project could really become a vital part in the future of the digital economy and help employees earn more than they do with amazon. The founders both studied at Harvard, are Thiel fellows and were in the Forbes 30 under 30 list. Really a project to look out for.

The contest predictions are a lot of unwanted content. That is why I made my own prediction in PM. I suggest sending yours to IntroVert privately, deleting your own public prediction, and allowing IntroVert to publish the list of accumulated predictions when the entry period has closed.
Yeah, perhaps IntroVert should have made an own thread and just link to it in this thread...
