361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Future Applications for Bitcoin on: August 14, 2017, 06:58:13 AM
Well this has been discussed many times but from what i observed, it is not easy for bitcoin because it would take too long for transaction fees and sometimes the price is always unstable so you would have to change price every pump and dump. And i think not always that the government as the power on meddling on this kind of affairs. Its hard to watch and keep track if ever they will create there own server for the transactions.
362  Economy / Economics / Re: Will third world country hold their foreign reserve in bitcoin against Dollar? on: August 13, 2017, 12:04:04 PM
nope that would be absurd. why would anyone trust a country's fate to an unstable currency. there are many dangers, for example, someone hacked the private key to  a country's reserve, that would end the nation.
i also think that it may not be so easy. as third world country have many financial problems as they cannot even provide jobs to their people and majority of people are jobless therefore i do not think that they may have such reasonable. amount of money to hold them i form of bitcoin.

Well i think 3rd world means that its economy is still unstable in itself. From what i know they have yet to stabilize there own infrastructures. Yes everything revolves around in dollars in some countries let alone having btc in there own agendum. There are still many issues to be handled to think outside there country. Some 1st world country are not even basing there reserve in dollars.
363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To be or not to be... Achievements in Gambling. on: August 13, 2017, 08:02:20 AM
I did have good achievements in gambling but most of the time i had some misfits. But to me achievement is the satisfaction of gambling it self. The adrenaline it gives everytime you pick sides, being smart of on everyround and enjoying the scene of people commenting why they lost in the bet. I had some good games on a rock paper scissor kind of gambling but its hard to cashout so i'd just retain them there and never visited the site again.
364  Economy / Economics / Re: The Best Universities to Study Blockchain Technology on: August 13, 2017, 06:02:55 AM
Well what i learned here in the communitare the basics terms and trading strategies. I think it would really become a helpful course if they would integrate coding  on the blockchain. Because i too would really want to learn those cryptography stuffs and the sha functions. I find it facsinating if people are talking about those kinds of things but i have no idea how to relate. I was trying to find those kinds of things online but i always end up in blogs that is meant to be read. If there could be any apps to learn those things.
365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's make ‘Buy Bitcoin’ Sign Appears Everywhere! on: August 13, 2017, 05:07:48 AM
Ok, this idea could work, but we need to agree to two things:

1. Never put a BTC address on the sign. This isn't about getting some bitcoin dust from a few thousand people, and

2. Agree to talk to our friends and family after they see the sign. Seeing the sign on the TV can still have a limited effect in getting people to act. And action is what we need. When someone says "hey did you see this "Buy Bitcoin" sign?" respond with "yeah...have you bought any yet?!"

Godspeed.

Well also read before investing and anything. Because chances are they may have read it and can be very eager to invest without at least some basic knowledge. From what im seeing there are lot of posts on btc about links and others. Most of them are even referrals with screen shots of money on some sites. I dont know if there are people who are trying to log in on those sites but there are some referral links that are really profiting from new investors.
366  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Making profit day trading but losing opportunity short term on: August 11, 2017, 06:00:46 AM
you said it yourself, every day it keeps increasing so you have to be keen on the coin you are trading. You can always see if the price is starting to decrease then thats the time your can trade but remember you have to watch your coin. Cause it'd be useless if you are always panic selling and you see the price is still increasing. Better make ur short term at least 3 days or a week. Nothings gonna happen if you think you can think you could profit in just hours or a day. Always in this trade its in the long term
367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would you do? on: August 11, 2017, 05:07:23 AM
if i facing similar situations just like you said then i would go all in for next bets because it's already deep so rely on my luck would be my last options although very often the results are not according to my thought but this is gambling and i do realize that

At that point usually there is really little left to gamble with, so why not just go crazy with it right? Usually the last balance will not be enough to get back what you lost
especially if you want to do it slowly like how you gambled the rest of your money. That is why, it is nice to just try your luck by doing an all in bet with a crazy low chance.

I agree that last balance is often times not enough to get back what we lost.  It is tempting to try your suggestion since there could be a chance that betting n a crazy low chance to win.  It doesnt make a difference anyway if we go slow ang lose the last  balance than trying our luck and do all in  with a very low chance of winning and if you win,it will make a huge difference

In my experience as gambler, most of the time last money never dies. When i gamble my last money makes my stay longer in a gambling site. So even if i was lucky during the first bets, i end up winning after my last money had its winning streak. So for me as a gambler i bet until last money. Off course i always load my phone before going to gamble so if everything goes south, i'd have someone to call.
368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do bitcoins better than bank cards like debit or credit cards? on: August 11, 2017, 04:18:37 AM
I do wonder which is really better between using these two types of digital payment system for both sides of transactions as to:

1. speed;
2. reliability; and
3. security.

Well, for me bitcoin is better than bank cards, because bitcoin is a form of assets or investment of yours where it has a capability that can produce money anywhere you go. Unlike bank cards is not the same as bitcoin have. And it is very,  secured and safe than anyone else.

Well in terms of investments and assets, btc really is better but in terms of fees and transaction i think having credit card is much better. although security when it comes to these in the internet is risky. credit card really is faster in terms of speed and reliability in the physical transactions. Both of them are different because one is crypto and other is fiat.
369  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Declaring over $10k worth of cryptocurrency when flying on: August 11, 2017, 03:47:38 AM
At any airport around the world it's quite normal that if you are departing or entering a country with more than $10k currency, you have to declare it.

Do peeps declare their cryptocurrency when they are travelling? All these peeps walking around with over $10k in cryptocurrency on a physical hard wallet or a soft wallet on their computers are leaving/entering the country with currency. Wonder what would happen if they didn't declare it and were found out...

Your bitcoins don't travel with you. They only exist in cyberspace.
You can access your coins from both countries (departed and arrived). Ultimately what matters is how they touch the fiat value chain.

Well not unless you want to declare btc as your source of income and you are a minor or unemployed. Others kinds of visas i think is ok but being a minor or unemployed and your are making big profits in btc and you want to go to other country, it is likely questionable by the police on where you are getting your money. So i guess just show your wallet and talk somethings about btc may decrease time of delays.
370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Is Your Bitcoin Dream? on: August 11, 2017, 01:51:43 AM
Well, I am a family oriented person, So as for me Firstly, I dream of saving big time from bitcoin. I am currently a student and saving is what I want to happen now for wiser investments in the future.
But if you would ask me what is in my mind as a dream, it is that I have invested my savings for a House for my parents and a simple House for myself, I am financing my sister's studies, and a public Center or a Health service Clinic and other businesses that is benificial to the community.

Me too. Mostly for savings but as of now i would want to have stability for this moment. I would not to predict futire just by stacking cash everytime i will have a big trade. For me whatever has come that is where I will make plan cause it would be just frustrating if we had some but in the end  was not followed. But Danny in reading a lot of outcomes here. Good luck mates.
371  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's your success story? on: August 10, 2017, 08:36:00 AM
I'm new here, but it's depressing to read all fail and bankruptcy stories. Let's share some success stories to brighten up the mood and inspire some people. Smiley

the thing is, when people make money and are successful they don't just come and share it with others. specially publicly on a forum and with random people. but when they lose money they are more than happy to share their failure and losses with others to seek sympathy. which is why you see a lot more "I lost money" topics than anything else!

and here is a success story for you:
with $3400 you could have bought 17BTC in less than 2 years ago and now with $3400 you can only buy 1BTC and in 2 years from now you will only be able to buy 0.01BTC with the same amount of money. that is a success story for you.

Well probably btc did not always started as a success rather it had some failuers or even it was rejected at first. Earlier btc was not recognizable as it was just even at 3 $ but it had became a multimillion platform that helped a lot of successful investors over the years. So before reading success stories it was better that you have read failures because it could motivate you also no to lose some money in the process.
372  Economy / Securities / Re: The best way to invest in cryptocurrency on: August 10, 2017, 06:46:01 AM
When you have the mind and backing to risk then cryptocurrency is the right choice. Here you don't need anything in specific as an qualification rather than a mind that learns from experience. So start with small volumes invested into digital coins that are low in value. This makes you a profit or loss in the long or short run.earn and the continued process makes you a perfect person in trading.

And i think most newbies for there sake expect to have imidiate profit but i guess its in reading and observing the community and the flow in any markets caps. Because for me i have no history of any computer programs but thankfully i learn almost all of this nodes and blocks and how they work around the internet or even trading in the community. Having fails also could help develop each in everyones strategy so better try it now for experience after going to big profits.
373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: August 10, 2017, 05:50:41 AM

This thread is already good for 2017-2018 as OP can just change the title or it's understandable that this thread is for NBA. We will see if the Golden State Warriors is still unstoppable, every season is not that the same from the past. It's either this is the regime of GSW but we will never know if they can play consistently.
Yes every season is different especially some teams added great player in their line up but isn't GSW known for being consistent, it was. This is the era of GSW, they will play consistent as long as no one in their key player will gone, both starting and bench.

The very special attribute have for GSW is they will make sure they can retain there players so that they can maximize the chemistry to their players and they have great selection on rookies since they will make sure that it can blend to their plays and theirs no doubt from next season that GSW is still the main problem of the other team to get the championship rings.

Definitely, every team wants to defend its title. Warriors should be 3x champion by now. I hope they will established like like Chicago Bulls back then. No one can really touch when Jordan is around, with Warriors, Steph and Durant leading the team. Its really nice that teams are upgrading their line up, but for me Warriors is above all teams now with their roster intact, chemistry of the players are still there and they are one with the Management. Goal is to win another trophy for this year for them.

For me warriors is a complete team with each different skills on there position. There main 5 is as igoudala the fifth men is a good combo for a championship. These are the lineup that the other team are trying to compete against. And from what i see this year has the most ridiculous trades. Cavs also are would make some weird trades but both this finalist teams are trying to have minimal trade. Even though they acquired rose, his contract is just 2 million so i guess its a win situation for the cavs.
374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transaction fee. on: August 10, 2017, 04:50:46 AM
Segwit will reduce fees, but only after you move your coins to a segwit address (in a segwit capable wallet).

So it will still take some time until we reap the full benefits.
Hello Elebit, may i ask you something? What does segwit means? I kept on searching on some search engines still, it's hard to understand for me as a newbie. any explanations for me to keep it simple for a newbie? Smiley

Cheers!

Well it would really hard to explain if you dont know other of the basic terms and trades in blockchain and the community. But to give you an idea if it helps, SegWit stands for Segregated Witness where 3 parties are involved. 1. sender 2. receiver 3. and a witness or the confirmations or miners. This can ease transactions and fees suppose to be if once activated. Well this is just the basic definition so better start reading for more infos.
375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transaction fee. on: August 10, 2017, 04:47:15 AM
Quote
They were not rumors.
Bitcoin transaction fees have decreased SUBSTANTIALLY after the NYA agreement was formed. This is because miners immediately stopped spamming the network and now Bitcoin is almost as fast as it used to be before the scaling debate.

Segwit has locked in, but it has not activated yet. It will activate once this activation period is over. After that there will be a 2MB blocksize hard fork and consequently a split in November. Can't really say that the Segwit stuff is over.

Seriously im confused about this segwit scaling solution, i thought that it will only upgrade the bitcoin protocol by decreasing the 1 MB block size and taking it to another onchain network which is the lightning networl and i was shocked or rather surprised that there will be another split. Does this mean that there will be another bitcoin related coin ? What does it needed to split bitcoin in multiple currency ?

From what im reading there are already speculations of 2nd split which can be called bitcoin core. For me this is good as btc is further developing and we just have to admire changes instead of whinning to the old versions. The same as the previous split where you could store your btc in a private wallet. Acquiring the free might differ on where you inputted your btc i guess wait until further instruction.
376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: For fork's sake! Bitcoin Core braces for another cryptocurrency split on: August 09, 2017, 12:51:32 PM
What happen?Huh  re-schedule??

BTC client software set to reject SegWit2x nodes

https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/08/08/bitcoin_core_fork_cryptocurrency/

The revision, scheduled to take effect on August 21, is intended to make Bitcoin transactions more scalable and faster. After that point, Bitcoin miners will begin rejecting blocks that fail to support the change.
Core never had the intention of supporting SegWit2x.
Now I couldn't entirely understand why they made this change, but from what I read at the original commit it has something to do with btc1 nodes connecting to Core nodes and getting banned, which is what happened with BCH nodes.

I wholeheartedly disagree with this. A measly 2MB upgrade is nothing compared to what a third split, of whose support is much larger compared to BCH, will bring.

Would there be another split in case this plan would materialize? I apologize for being a non-technical person but I am concerned about this another split possibility. Well, will this coming split not affect the credibility of Bitcoin? I have no problem with BitcoinCash (BCH) practically because I have already sold my BCH share in Bittrex. The way I am seeing it, the Bitcoin community is really a very divided group of people and this can somehow affect the value of Bitcoin except if the market would just ignore this.

Ya there are speculations that has a great chance to be true and from what i read it will be named bitcoin core. So Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash then the next split if possible Bitcoin core. There are difinitely i think teams that manages these things and probably miners too have a high impact on the nodes. Maybe for us local traders its good because another free altcoin is coming but there is a bigger picture to whats gonna happen next.
377  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: do you sell your bitcoin or convert to usd? on: August 09, 2017, 11:55:07 AM
I don't sell my bitcoin permanently, i do trade them in an exchange and i always try to play with the volatility of bitcoin and i just continue doing it until now and i don't sell bitcoin if i don't really need the money. I just sell bitcoins when my savings in my bank account goes too low so i can add some funds in my savings for future expenses.
That's right selling bitcoin all the time reduces the allowance to increase because as we all know it fluctuates most of the time or it changes the rate. That's really nice idea of yours. That's one of my plan, to add up my funds because it's been awhile since I stop depositing some amount of my account. I believe that saving money is the best way to set goals for the future needs. So I hope it will pump more so that I can start a business that is all about bitcoin. I can also help other people about this who also try to live normally they can for survival.

Well the same for me also but btc is my main currency any altcoin i traded always comes back to btc if im going to withdraw it. I dont think my country still has a direct withdrawing site from usd but it supports btc to peso. sometimes also get bored playing around an exchange site so i would just leave it there in the market until the price reaches my bid. I hope bittrex could also support BCC trades to any other altcoins. Maybe a lot would also invest in bcc by then.
378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: where to buy BCC Now? on: August 09, 2017, 10:31:37 AM
kraken, bitfinex, both exhcanges said they have support BCC.

yes, not know kraken, but bitfinex, they just support the trading of BCC, but you can't withdraw BCC.  Shocked

OH really? is that only at bittfinex that cant withdraw BCC? i think it just needs some days for it to be fully confirmed.

Does it have to be converted to other currency so that it can be withdrawn or is there a date where they can support withdrawing? Im not really in bitfinex right now since the hardfork. But i guess for me i would still wait for more BCC dumped in the market before making trades.

379  Other / Archival / Re: Have you ever won a Jackpot? on: August 09, 2017, 09:48:47 AM
The only jackpot i have won is the prime dice 77.77 one. I have won them three times, but unfortunately the wins weren't that big, The biggest i won from the jackpot was 0.007 BTC. Have you ever won a jackpot in your life? If so how big was it?

actually i never win a jackpot so far but i still dreaming on. i know its only for person which have luck to win the money. you are the lucky guy which won from the jackpot although its not big but if you convert into fiat, you can buy coffee  Grin i wish someday i can win the jackpot like other people so i can feel how it looks like.

Well if you meant jackpot as in hitting the lucky buttons then no but if winning big money just from one game or dice alone then yes. I won .06 in just one click in yobit during there early years but those are the times when btc was just 1000$ so it was not yet high then. Also in physical gamling ive won many times but i lost more money that almost all my winnings so never jackpot for me because it direclty goes to gambling.
380  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price BTC after 23 August? on: August 09, 2017, 08:56:10 AM
What will happen at 23rd august  Huh I don't think there is anything scheduled for that date so predicting price for some random date like that doesn't make any sense. Price might be at over $4k by end of this august. Segwit gonna activated within next few days, that might affect the price alot.

August 23 — This is around when we can expect block 481824, which is when Segwit should activate. From this block on, Segwit transactions will be legal on the network. This also sets the activation date for BIP102 on Segwit2x to block 494784 (exactly 144*90 blocks later).
And do you honestly think that majority of the bitcoin holders/users are monitoring the situation to know that detail?
From my experience, I can tell you that most of Bitcoin users are not interested in what is under the hood.
They care only about potential gains and long term goals.

Exactly. but i think the important here is that more people are now aware of this august 23 segwit. I too have just read this and it gives option to hold some amount or to dump all of it. In general also everyone could profit in the long term. And i think if this has activated confirms would go faster and fees would decrease. But offcourse we need to wait  again for some time for it to be fully utilized if ever there are claims that something is wrong.
