1  Economy / Speculation / Re: I feel really dumb on: April 23, 2013, 10:49:41 PM
I think a lot of people are using last months model to invest in bitcoin. Those days are gone imho. It took the crash to bring bitcoin to a new level of public knowledge, and with that came a new wave of investors. I think we are starting to see the beginning of the 'stability' we all crave. I know of a few people who walked away during the insane 260's spike we saw, but anybody with half a brain could see that that rate of upward movement was not sustainable. So we lost a few early adopters, some heavy investors out for profit, and a gang of retards. I myself made a decent chunk of usd in that spike, but I see BTC as a long-term investment that I use multiple accounts with different purposes to make the most of it. I have a day trading wallet that I am willing to lose all of if I make bad decisions, I have a gambling/free coin account(my sig wallet), and I have my vault, where I am putting the majority of my coin while this whole introduction phase takes place. When Bitcoin becomes the, for lack of a better term, facebook of online currency, and we see the true value of bitcoin emerge, then I will know that I made the right decisions. The trick is to stop looking at the micro-movements and to just let it ride. I consider all of the coins I have to be nothing more any other code in my computer....a means to an end. A way for me to get done what I need to get done. And until bitcoin becomes as frequently used a term as mac, pc, android...etc, I am going to hold onto what I have because I see a future where bitcoin is more than just a ticker figure.

Just my 2 pennies.

Oh well, that was fun. Hopefully we can track down who has it and publically shame them. By now, I imagine it is either in the posession of satoshidice or SR.

4  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bullish on: April 19, 2013, 01:44:16 AM
Bullish on the day, perhaps the week. Bearish on any time frame longer than that. I have the feeling people are just 'playing for profit' right now. To be honest, I am a little bit.

This Derailed Epically, Anybody know who is holding the pot?

I love that bitcoin helped me pay off my car last week.

7  Economy / Lending / Re: I know nobody will do this, but I coud use a 1.5BTC Loan. on: April 13, 2013, 09:56:21 AM
It's my last name. That could have been asked in a pm tho.
8  Economy / Lending / I know nobody will do this, but I coud use a 1.5BTC Loan. on: April 13, 2013, 05:39:39 AM
Quite honestly, I need it to give my friend an intro. He is paying cash, and given my recently sell off, I kept my dust. I am going to post his brand new address, but will be willing to put up whatever you want for collateral. I kept my dust and dice account, but have decided to not associate with bitcoin in any serious way anymore. I can pay back in 3 weeks at 20% interest. I will dox myself to the hilt, do whatever I need to do, short of a sperm sample, but I am just not trying to deal with an exchange right now, its been a crazy week and I would rather just get a loan, but I would like to take a week to ignore bitcoin, a week to get back in, and a week to process the payback. Nobody is going to do this, so let the flame war begin, but given my last few posts here it honestly pains me to ask this community for anything. The paranoia that exists in this community was part of the reason I got out on the run up, and now I have lost all faith in bitcoin. I think that people who claim this is s currency based on freedom who are so sketched out to be willing to help people out is ruining what was once a group project. So I know I won't even get a loan on this, but whatever. I just cleared 50k on my latest sale. Getting back in now for a one time trade is worth it for me to introduce the currency to more people.

If anybody wants to help a brother out, cool. If you're going to mock, and talk trash. Skip it. I am already over being on bitcoin talk.
9  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Small investment with Big fun to be had. on: March 31, 2013, 01:24:47 AM
Well excuse me for trying to make my job a little more bitcoin friendly. Jesus. Mods, please lock this thread. I'm over this. Sorry for trying to use my skills to be a part of the bitcoin community. I won't make this mistake again. I thought of a new motto for bitcoin "invest in a project where you will be ridiculed for trying to further the community, we would rather just have a big ass circle jerk and talk shit to people.". Bunch of dickheads on this forum.

Smh, sorry, I forgot where I was for a second. The idea was to show a local business that the bitcoin community was more than a bunch of techie people, and had real world application. I guess I was wrong. As much as I like bitcoin, this is the exact reason it will never become widely accepted.

She doesn't have a wallet yet. Her only involvement in this is an interest check. I am running all donation materials on my own dime and my own time. Sending her a private key would be sent to the trash because it would look like spam to her.

Gentlemen and ladies of bitcointalk. I have convinced my boss to allow me to start producing btc merchandise, with one stipulation. She wants to check interest. She told me this afternoon that if I can raise 1 btc just in interest that she will allow me to produce 'large' runs of t-shirts and various other btc 'swag'.

i propose to you folks a fundraising drive to meet my goal.

For .01 you will receive a 3" vinyl bitcoin logo sticker
For .05 you will receive a bitcoin sticker with your username on it.
For .1 you will receive a custom sticker of your choice
For .5 you get all items listed above and a bitcoin logo t shirt with your username on it.
For the whole 1 btc gets all items listed above and a one off silk screened t-shirt with the bitcoin related design of your choice.

Yes. I am giving this away, but it is a project I believe in. So, anybody interested. For now use the address in my sig to donate, I will set up a dedicated account in the morning.

So, am I out of my mind to think I can make this work, or is anybody gonna help a brother out?

After, make sure you make a list.  Its like a record of who we were able to trust ~5 ltc.

I lol'd

Okay, that's what they did on the bitcoin circle of trust.

I didnt mean to say not to. It just seems to me that saying "these are the people we can trust with ~4usd is amusing. I'm not discounting the idea.

my caps showed sarcasm. Fear is what I am hearing all over the forum today with all this sell, sell, nonsense. Sell some, keep some and play the next run-up. This is how it works. But I also don't believe the kind of growth we have seen in the past month is sustainable in the long-term. Eventually people will become so worried that they will liquidate in order to avoid the big fall, which will, in turn cause the big fall. Regardless, Woodcock doesn't afraid of anything.
16  Economy / Speculation / Re: i'm torn. what would you do? on: March 28, 2013, 12:05:47 PM
I cashed out a small portion of my coin last night. That said, if I only had 3, I would probably hold on and enjoy the ride. As many have stated, bitcoin is a currency, but it is also a movement, one I plan on being a part of during good times and bad.
17  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BOUNTY: 10+BTC] Open Source (CC) Paper Wallet Kit for safe offline coin storage on: March 28, 2013, 04:13:04 AM
Regrettably, my design partner and I decided that we cannot take place in thistoday. Time does not allow for us to put in, what we feel would be an appropriate amount of time to make it worthwhile. We did discuss over the cutting table some ideas, including the backside. One that sticks in my mind is putting a "pattern" of 'text' designed to look like the lines in a standard currency of important websites to btc as a way to advertise the community. Like I say, these were quick notions while standing over a weeding table at a print/sign shop, so they may be worthless, but as we always say, even the worst ideas can spark the best....

As I said, this will all be open. So, your design can be added to the collection at any time. In fact, I hope we will have dozens and dozens of designs in a dropdown selection, in the printing software (derived from probably).

Please do stay and contribute,
Perhaps some rich bitcoin early adopter will jump in and add to the bounty - OPEN CC-BY-SA license - if anyone pays, we ALL get to use it.

Starting on Monday, the openpaperwallet will be crowdfunded on two major crowdfunding sites. Early contributors will help launch the project and will get paper wallet kits in the mail from the very first quality production run. I will also be giving bigger rewards including reseller kits from my print runs for those who want to jump start a reseller business (100 kits, ready to sell, wholesale price, shipped worldwide).

The funds raised will be used to finance the open source code, web design and many more wallet designs. So don't go away ;-)

I will be around and working on this in my spare time. As I said before, if there is anything I can do on the production end, I work in a pretty high end print shop and have access to anything necessary. I understand this is open source, but producing 'bills' that can be, for lack of a better term, standardized and accepted should be a short-long-term goal. If you need anything feel free to give me a shout.
