1  Economy / Services / Re: Byteball Signature Campaign(Under new management) on: December 26, 2016, 08:27:52 PM
I'm sorry, I thinked this campaign was finished so I will not be able to make 30 posts this week in contrary to the next week but when this campaign will be over?  Lips sealed

as far as i'm aware, this was the last week.
Yahoo is probably doing the verification/filling the sheet to send to the owner.

let's hope for one more week..
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: dogecoin transaction hashes on: December 26, 2016, 03:04:19 AM
i dont see how could it be possible and even if it were, the user would need to do predict the next hash and place the bet in time.
but every time someones think something is impossible, a hacker show it isnt.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this true or a speculation on: December 25, 2016, 10:19:55 PM
this happens all the time in bitcoin world..
all these websites claim to pay interest every day are ponzi schemes. Most cloud mining services are ponzi schemes. People need to understand there's no "free money".

if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons to fork bitcoin in the future? on: December 25, 2016, 10:16:00 PM
dude,
what if i told you bitcoin already have forks?  Roll Eyes

lots of these altcoins are a bitcoins fork.
if you are talking about the real bitcoin being forked and used, well, the problem is the adoption. to fork bitcoin doing some changes to the code, if only a few nodes follow you, your fork dies.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best places to set up ETH wallet online (not on your computer) on: December 25, 2016, 10:11:27 PM
i dont hold any ETH, but i do have a few tokens that i hold in one wallet created at myetherwallet. Never had any problem there, definitely recommend.
Just be careful with your private key, and make sure to have a clean computer when generating/using the wallet.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: points of failure on: December 25, 2016, 10:06:02 PM
A currency for the planet earth has to be robust against failure.  Bitcoin happens to depend on certain specific cryptographic and hashing algorithms.  These are believed to be secure today, but there is a chance that a hack is found or a rainbow table is developed.

If someone hacks the hashing algorithm and can produce blocks extremely rapidly, they could take control of the blockchain, at least until either their hack became widely known or all the miners switched to a different hashing algorithm.  Far worse, if someone hacked the public key algorithm, it would be a race against time to move your bitcoins to another currency or have them stolen.

Will this be a problem for bitcoin?  I don't think so...  Don't use bitcoin for your retirement fund.

One could imagine a cryptocurrency that uses multiple public key and hashing algorithms simultaneously, and has the ability to add new cryptographic algorithms if one is ever broken.  This would obviously be more secure than bitcoin, but slower and stuff.

Question: Is the probability that a cryptographic algorithm used by Bitcoin gets hacked greater or smaller than the probability that a friggin huge gold deposit is found, rendering gold worthless?
you should search a little about all the math behind these algorithms...
all the time and the energy that would be needed to MAYBE some day achieve that.

Should every one deposit all their money and dreams in bitcoin? of course not, diversification is the word in this market. Bitcoin is my main investment, but for sure it isnt the only one.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HDD Mining on: December 25, 2016, 08:56:45 PM
i'm dont know exactly how HDD mining works, but if it's like a cloud storage service you cant forget about your internet.
in a few countries, fast internet isn't cheap and they limit your upload/download. So, if you dont have a good internet provider, this might be a bad idea.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH wallet on: December 25, 2016, 01:40:39 PM
We've been hearing so many incidents regarding online wallets.

in most cases i've seen, the problem weren't the service but the user.
people use weak password, infected computers, dont store the privkey in a safeplace and, when the hack happens, "the problem were the wallet".

if you're not careful, doest matter if it online or not, you will be hacked eventually.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's best alternative on: December 25, 2016, 01:12:13 PM
there's no consensus about that.
a few members will say LTC/XMR/DASH, others will say ETH/ETC, others will tell about a minor altcoins.

just search about the projects, see what you like and drop some bitcoins on it. there are some good altcoins around here but it's impossible to predict which one will succeed bitcoin(if ever happen).
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Starbucks accepting bitcoin on: December 25, 2016, 01:04:42 PM
Already been buying Frappuccino from Starbucks ever since Xapo became available for use here in our country. Not really using it directly as a payment but it still counts right? Also, this new payment method might sound iffy at first upon checking their site, but it's good to know that more and more payment processors are expanding their services for the economy.
same here.
i'm a xapo user and i can pay anything using bitcoin. it's visa and the confirmations comes in a second.

services like xapo, ipayyou, and others will make bitcoin easier to use to these things(like buying a coffe).
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FUCK! The Bitcoin is dead again. This time for sure. on: December 25, 2016, 12:50:52 AM
it's funny to see posts like that and look to bitcoin graph  Roll Eyes
yeah, definitely dead... lol

According to legend, the words Satoshi Nakamoto "We can win ... an area of freedom for a few years." If you examine what is said, we can understand that bitcoin is a temporary thing.
everything is temporary... the question is: how long it will last? i'm sure bitcoin will last for a very long time. and maybe some day "another satoshi" will create another currency even better.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the wallet the key to coin success? on: December 25, 2016, 12:44:20 AM
i totally agree with you, but every development have stages.
at an "alpha" stage of the coin, it isnt needed(it's welcome, but not a must).

the problem is: a few coins doesn't seem to worry about move to the next stage.... decred and monero are the best example.
both waited WAY too long for an easier to use wallet.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Jingle bells on: December 25, 2016, 12:39:10 AM
Sure there are always some alts that pump, but like you said, it's a lottery. How the hell are you supposed to guess what alt will pump? It seems that every horse has been already beaten. We got the anonymous coins phase, then the smart contracs phase.. now what's next? For a coin to pump hard it must offer something new.
i dont see as phases( smart contracts, then anonymous, then social media(steem?)), just big hiped coins.

nobody knows which will be next, but you can always follow the project and buy the dips.
like now, after this bitcoin rally most alts are very cheap. If bitcoin stop raising for at least a few days i'm sure most alts will recover.

PotCoin's price didn't even flinch as BTC went on a $80 USD run... Impressive

Most alts took a big hit, but this one held its ground. Well done

the reality is whales made it not go down! and now they are making it go up like crazy! ¬¬

these last two days were just mad, price floating between 1600~1900 several times in a short period.
i've almost doubled the amount i had on poloniex and now i'll send to my wallet(as soons as it stop sync...)
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★DigiByte|极特币★★[DGB]✔DigiByte Gaming - CS:GO, LoL, DiguSign it?, DigiSpeed on: December 25, 2016, 12:26:13 AM
you will never see it go to 0 because I will buy the whole supply at 1 satoshi  Wink

That is it's only future, good revenue on spread trading between 1 and 2 satoshis. I got that feeling the floor could be low single digits.
if it drops that much, it will never recover...
DGB still without good news, the gaminghub is getting worse every day(more bugs, pay rate going down)... i dont know why i'm still holding this. probably waiting for a miracle.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Fund Management Platform on: December 24, 2016, 01:35:13 AM
Same thing was said about Stratis when it hit Polo, and BOOOM! NOTHING!!   Grin Grin
agree.
i have faith in ICN, i just dont see it pumping like that from day to night. to me it will be a slow and steady growth(which is good, we dont wanna a bubble happening).

give it a year or two and then we can have lambos.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: December 24, 2016, 01:29:48 AM
price is soo undervalued
Nope the price is exactly what the free market decides it is. If you think it is so undervalued then you have a perfect chance to buy the books huh?
not exactly...
most of these movements are made by the "weak hands", people who cant handle a small devaluation. Bitcoin price goes up, a small devaluation happens, people start to panic sell and the small devaluation became a big dump.

if the projects is moving well and the price is below the average price, to me, it's undervalued. and yeah, a perfect chance to buy some more.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: December 23, 2016, 11:09:49 PM
Remember the most of ur money u make on altcoin shorts. Merry Xmas and let the poloniex orderbooks awash with blood.
yep, totally agree  Grin Grin
easy money... if bitcoin goes up all you have to do is short alts.

once bitcoin start to consolidate, then you can buy alts back and wait for the next cycle.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★[ANN] [NAV] NAV COIN - ANONYMOUS TECH. LAUNCH NOV 1 on: December 23, 2016, 11:06:25 PM
We also have confirmation from Changelly that they have successfully installed Nav Coin onto their servers, so being added to their service is only a matter of time.
Great news!
once people realise how big this is, nav price will go to the moon easily.

will it be possible to anyone set up one of those servers to earn some from fee's?
