41  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Batch 2# got tracking number but still nothing on DHL site on: July 05, 2013, 06:19:22 PM
have seen this several times before. People got their Avalon before or the same day the DHL has the information in their system.
42  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Eyes to the horizon: A bitcoin ASIC project will be announced in June on: June 22, 2013, 08:01:59 AM
Sweden = Ericsson (Have worked 4+ years in a company in Greece they outsource amongst other nations - including China)
Finland = NOKIA

No valid argument by OP, just biased Chinese nationalism - I am used to it as we had to co-operate much with these cocky guys. Full of errors and false impressions their code and hardware. Huawei's switching centres used to got on fire lol. Now they copied Ericsson's AXE ok finally.

I would worry more about the outcome of the Chinese than the Swedish, just my 2 satoshis.

But I will go bullish on their project too (as I did with KNC and TerraHash).

Peace

Nokia and Ericsson are not so competitive when facing ruthless Chinese/Korean competitors.
I know most engineers in Huawei work more than 60 hours a week, some probably work 70 hours.

I know KNC is definitely not a scam and they will deliver the product as they promised. But, can they meet the deadline they set? I'm not so optimistic.
43  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Eyes to the horizon: A bitcoin ASIC project will be announced in June on: June 21, 2013, 09:14:38 PM
Not a scam, but I can read chinese, he's so arrogant that I dont want to deal with

You are right, he is very Arrogant and Cocky ..

You can't just say that and not say why! Enquiring minds need to know!!...Grin

I think he was referring that the OP has trashed KNC in the Chinese forum for 28nm being unrealistic for the current ASIC miner market .  OP says he has lived in northern Europe for several years, he observes that European typically work 2 hrs a day, 4.5 days a week. Given the 28nm technology/financial challenges in addition to European style working attitude, OP feels very pessimistic about KNC's schedule.

I actually agree with OP's opinion.

I have 32 credits for sell, Please PM.
45  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon chip microscope photos revealed on: June 10, 2013, 10:56:54 PM
Interesting. First time to know somebody is reverse engineering Chinese product.
46  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Insane Prediction for difficulty increases on: June 10, 2013, 07:32:39 PM

It could be some miners are hoping for a breaking point.. ie, it becomes so HARD to mine that MOST miners get out leaving only a hardcore group and eliminating some of the difficulty.  I for one do not think difficulty will continue to climb.. eventually it will go down and only those few left mining will reap any rewards..

It will climb for a while but its not going to be +33% forever.  It will eventually stabilize to a sustainable number.

Agree, anything parabolic is not sustainable, BTC price or Mining hashing power.
47  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: About KNCMiner on: June 08, 2013, 09:05:00 PM
I think TSMC won't even talk to KNC if they have less than 50 million USD upfront for 28nm process.

Who can afford to use 28nm? Samsung, Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, Altera etc. All are multibillion dollar companies. You think a tiny Swedish company can afford 28nm?

It's so unrealistic that they are aiming for 28nm.

Even 40nm ACIS bitcoin miner seems so unrealistic for me at the moment, let alone 28nm.
48  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ATTN] BitSyncom: What happened to my Batch 1 order? on: June 04, 2013, 01:53:27 AM
I don't know what to say.

We only heard one side of the story.

But BitSyncom should definitely come out and response.
49  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Difficulty 252,000,000 in December 2013 on: June 03, 2013, 02:58:42 AM
Better change the title of this thread, it's misleading.

Your spreadsheet is so full of errors it's unbelievable. Avalons Batch 2 and 3 will have approx. 43th each (72gh x 600 units, and that is with a +10gh bonus for a margin). not 156th or 130th. Where the heck did you get that numbers?
Also: The hell?!? Are you really thinking that BFL can pull 58th per month out of their hats? That would be a great magic trick! Besides, I think if they have some th's ready, they are mining for themselves right now, so they would be in the current number.
Then there is the Asic Chips: .... There are over 500.000 chips ordered, why do you add them in with only 85th? That should be a number between 150-200th. If all of them are okay and up and running in a ridiculously short amount of time.

Aaaaand: Unknown 500th?!?  Where do they magically appear?

If you make a spreadsheet, at least get your numbers straight!!!   (Knc miner numbers are also wrong. I alone have preordered over 1 th in mining equipment from them... If they deliver...)

The reason I posted the spreadsheet is for help in vetting the numbers with the community. I appreciate your constructive feedback. My plan is to update the spreadsheet each month with new information as it appears. You will find the information you've provided on the "July" spreadsheet.

You are correct avalon batch 2 & 3 are 600 units representing 43Th.

For the avalon chips, I've updated the information based on the btc received, estimating the total chips at 760,000 and the effect as 215 Th.

As a conservative estimate, for now, I'll leave the BFL prediction, although I may reduce it later this month based on the assumption that BFL chip sales indicate an inability to deliver units.

The unknown factor represents what I anticipate to be asic projects that are privately in development that will not be announced to the public but will affect the network hash rate.

Also, for knc miner, the November / December figures represent delivered (not ordered) units. Again, just an early estimate for now.

Cheers!

yeah, his calculation is about 4x of the actual ghs.

I estimated at the end of the year, difficulties is about 50m-100m. Currently 12m.

fxxx, where is avalon #3?
52  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Eyes to the horizon: A bitcoin ASIC project will be announced in June on: May 22, 2013, 10:31:35 PM
Ok fair enough, my mistake.  I just don't understand why they would go with 130 considering power would play such an important role in their ROI.  That just lead me to believe they are using the same fab and the chips are easier to acquire.  I mean, if you're going to make your own, why 130?  Cheap?

Cheaper, shorter time to manufacture, so there is way less risk than investing in 65nm technology. Also, electricity is not expensive in China.

With the money they can make from the 130nm, they can then migrate to more advance process.

CHINESE ARE DOMINATING ASIC MINING!!! Grin

In custom hardware sub-forum, people reported they have revived tracking number.

55  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / New ASIC project was announced in Chinese forum, 200T in Sept. on: May 14, 2013, 09:46:50 PM
I'm just moving the information from Chinese forum to here.

In short,

Phase 1, 200Th/s in September. Similar to ASICMINER, they will sell shares on Bitcointalk.org in June.
Phase 2, Sell ICs and miners to public, time frame unknown.

They claimed they started the project in January 2013, and estimating design and prototype production to be finished in August.

All design work is done in house.

It seems to me that someone are trying desperately to ignite panic sells. However the market hold up quite well.

so?
60  Economy / Speculation / Re: Its not bottom yet. It will crash under 100 just wait for it. on: April 26, 2013, 06:37:53 PM
The price is going to fluctuate a lot for a very long time, but despite what I've said over the past 2 years, I think chances are good the price is going to continue up overall.  All that development on the infrastructure, making it scalable and more robust, is just beginning and things are looking promising.

How can we ignore proundhon's comment!
