21  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 14, 2013, 12:34:06 AM
I never thought that, during the year 2013, I would be able to short Bitcoin at $400....But here I am, and I feel good about it. I'm a long-term bull, but this baby shouldn't be up here just yet. The Chinese are going to spank alot of you raw on the way down.
22  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to file a FTC complaint against BFL's illegal business practices on: October 30, 2013, 03:05:48 PM
They owe me 30K. My complaints are in. $ value in complaints should be getting high enough to spark attention.
23  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: October 27, 2013, 03:12:06 AM
advice: do the opposite to me as I always sell low and buy high..  currently waiting to buy back in so it will probably rally to a new high, I'll panic buy and then it will crash.

That's not particularly good news for my leveraged short positions. Let's hope you're actually correct this time?

I did get a good laugh out of that though, so thanks for that atleast.

Ya, you're not going to have any luck. BFL owes me $30,000. They stopped responding to the BBB regarding my complaint, and I had to get the FTC involved and the AG's of both states (mine and theirs) . Still a work in progress, and no money. They tried shipping a rig anyways, and I sent it right back.

Good luck, don't get your hopes up.

I can't decide where this is going, too little volume.

I shorted around 180 during the downtrend after the huge sell...Then at 180, it perked right back up. I figured it was a short bounce before a continuation downwards, and continued opening short positions up to 190.

Now, I'm not sure if I should close the positions and take a huge loss...or wait it out, and possibly lose all the BTC in my leveraged short positions...

Opinions?

If you have to take opinions on a forum for your trading,........................................you're fcked.

I might not be a professional or anything...but I've done well trading stocks the past few years, and since entering the crypto-market I've made over $168,000. Mostly due to LTC... At any rate, public sentiment can often be a better market indicator than any technical analysis.

Disclaimer: I am one of those assholes that lost big the day of the Blackberry announcement this year. Around $30,000, so I am not tooting my own horn.

I am also one of those assholes that clicked a malicious on BTC-e this past April and had their account cleared out. Roughly $40,000 lost.

So yes, I make stupid mistakes. Asking for opinions, and gauging public sentiment, is not one of them.

holy shit wtf!

you lost over 70,000K trusting your money with a third party, and you're asking us what to do???

let me slap some cents into you

*slap*

The 30k loss on Blackberry was my fault. I was going to sell, but by the time I remembered it was after the market was closed. I forgot to call my broker at tdameritrade to sell after-hours, fearing the announcement could be bad. I woke up to a phonecall fom him, telling me I had 10 minutes to liquidate the position or he'd have to himself. It was already liquidated by the time I got downstairs. He actually saved me some money by doing it, it went down more from there.

The 40k loss on BTC-e was due to an arb account that didn't have 2FA enabled. And a malicious link... Ya, I know, retarded...

34  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Anyone else refuse a BFL shipment? on: October 18, 2013, 02:26:11 PM
Way to go!
 Which AG office would be the right contact MO or KS?

The BBB told me MO, but I contacted Kansas also because that's where they are conducting most or all of their actual business. Can't hurt to do both. As it stands, the Federal Guidelines supersede/nullify anything agreed to, to the contrary, in a contract with a business. BFL can't dictate rules that go against Federal Rules, even if you signed a contract. I have been informed I am legally entitled to the refund, now it's just a matter of calling the AG's everyday and keeping then moving at a steady pace. Being able to tell them I already have FTC tickets open when I call helps also Smiley
35  Bitcoin / Hardware / Anyone else refuse a BFL shipment? on: October 17, 2013, 06:06:31 PM
Well....

     After they stopped responding to the BBB regarding my refund request, and contacting the AG of their state and mine... They had the audacity to ship one of my Minirigs anyways. I just sent it right back.

Has anyone done the same? Accepting shipment would nullify any chance of a legal claim to a refund, as far as I've been informed.

Was it a hard decision for you, and how are you feeling about it?

BTW, making us agree to a "2 months or more" delay in April, is an "indefinite delay"...  Cool
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
http://business.ftc.gov/documents/bus02-business-guide-mail-and-telephone-order-merchandise-rule

What a First Delay Option Notice Must Say

In seeking your customer’s consent to delay, the first delay notice you provide to the customer (the "delay option" notice) must include:

    a definite revised shipment date or, if unknown, a statement that you are unable to provide a revised shipment date;
    a statement that, if the customer chooses not to wait, the customer can cancel the order and obtain a full and prompt refund; and
    some means for the customer to choose to cancel at your expense (e.g., by providing a postage prepaid reply card or toll-free telephone number).
    the following information when you cannot provide a revised shipping date:
        the reason for the delay, and
        a statement that, if the customer agrees to the indefinite delay, the customer may cancel the order any time until you ship the merchandise.

...

When You Must Cancel an Order

You must cancel an order and provide a prompt refund when:

    the customer exercises any option to cancel before you ship the merchandise;
    the customer does not respond to your first notice of a definite revised shipment date of 30 days or less and you have not shipped the merchandise or received the customer’s consent to a further delay by the definite revised shipment date;
    the customer does not respond to your notice of a definite revised shipment date of more than 30 days (or your notice that you are unable to provide a definite revised shipment date) and you have not shipped the merchandise within 30 days of the original shipment date;
    the customer consents to a definite delay and you have not shipped or obtained the customer’s consent to any additional delay by the shipment time the customer consented to;
    you have not shipped or provided the required delay or renewed option notices on time; or
    you determine that you will never be able to ship the merchandise.

...

Why You Should Comply with the Rule

Merchants who violate the Rule can be sued by the FTC for injunctive relief, monetary civil penalties of up to $16,000 per violation (any time during the five years preceding the filing of the complaint), and consumer redress (any time during the three years preceding the filing of the complaint). When the mails are involved, the Postal Service also has authority to take action for problems such as non-delivery. State law enforcement agencies can take action for violating state consumer protection laws.

Apart from this, your failure to ship on time, or your failure to notify your customers promptly about delays and to obtain their consent to the delays, or your failure to make full and prompt refunds when your customers do not consent to delayed shipment, can adversely affect your business by discouraging repeat purchases. Accordingly, most businesses regard compliance with the Rule as simply good business practice.

Anyone have the content of the April 2013 new terms? The one with "2 months or more" delivery estimate in it. I need it word for word for the AG and FTC.

Thanks

I have it running at 480 465 GH/s stable now. Thats a 400 GH/s kit. So I'm pretty happy with that...I'm staying at 1.2 .

38  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: [GUIDE] BitFury Miner Support/Tuning on: September 16, 2013, 10:37:08 PM
Using pencil trick, I had an H-Card go from 21 GH/s to 39 GH/s . However, after 60 seconds the hashrate slowly decreases to lower than 21 GH/s. Is this a result of the auto-tuning?

EDIT: When miner is restarted, card goes back to 39 GH/s .. but then does the same thing.
My guess-
The regulator autoshutting

....Is there a way to run it and not have it autoshutdown? It was hashing like a boss...Heat was fine...is it the auto-tune, or a hardware limit I'm hitting?

Been running multiple days, so it's not due to delay. Thanks for the input tho... Having issues with Slush's pool. Miners will not hash when set to there  Huh

EDIT: Applying changes on connected worker may take up to 30 minutes.  <--- On Slush's pool...So maybe my worker names will not "take" for 30 minutes...?
