2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 900,000 illegal bitcoins. on: August 05, 2020, 03:20:02 PM
That's why average people associate Bitcoin with illegal stuff or criminals. But in reality, I don't think that all of it are serious crimes, illegal activities can be smaller offences; money laundering or simillar. Either way, it's irrelevant, who knows how much fiat is used for illegal activities, and Bitcoin should be treated differently because of this.

One day, all these bitcoins will somehow hit the market.  Undecided
They probably already did, but we shouldn't really care. A big percentage of cash that could be found anywhere in circulation was used for illegal activities, but why would you care, it's just paper, you'll spend it.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investment plan on: August 05, 2020, 02:55:19 PM
Besides Bitcoin, I would consider investing only in Ethereum and maybe Ripple. Investing in 2-3 cryptocurrencies is enough, you don't need to drop your money into pump coins, likely scams or just bad cryptocurrencies, that's why I would pass on Bitcoin Cash. If you only want to invest in one place, I recommend Bitcoin, it's clearly the best option.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin may be the solution to Africa's broken financial system. on: June 02, 2020, 06:27:17 PM
As mentioned in an earlier reply, Africa's infrastructure needs to be capable of making the usage of Bitcoin (or any other cryptocurrency) possible. The countries where it is actually possible are not in that much of a crisis. Africa mainly needs cash help right now, Bitcoin can't do much to help until there's internet connectivity everywhere - and we know that internet isn't a priority problem.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think shops should accept bitcoin? on: May 28, 2020, 01:22:46 PM
If the owner of the shop want to accept Bitcoin, he should know how the system works and the risks. Shops should accept Bitcoin but they wont ever accept without an exchange system, like Bitpay. That way, they get fiat from the transaction while helping people who want to shop with Bitcoin. But the only one who can lose here is the shopper, then. I think this should be an option everywhere, to be able even if it isn't without risk.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is ...... ? What does your auto fill suggest ? on: May 26, 2020, 07:30:27 PM
On Google I've got:
Bitcoin is...
- back,
- the future,
- a network of nodes,
- common sense,
- legal in India,
- dead.

So, mostly positive stuff that a person could see the first time searching for Bitcoin. I wonder why 'dead' pops up that often though.
Oh, and I just noticed that the first fill is converting to the local currency, didn't see that before.

I'd also recommend purse.io, 15% discount and you will recieve your order in 4-6 days (or choose a bigger discount if you don't mind waiting). Much safer and it will get the job done instantly.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as Means of Donation on: March 13, 2020, 03:50:51 PM
It is good that you can donate Bitcoin, but cash is still a major payment method for donations. This will help, but if you really want to donate you can give cash, so I don't think it will help a lot, unless most people dom't use fiat.

Reminder: Make your donations using 1 sat/B. They don't care if your donation reaches them today or tomorrow...

In fact i sustain that every bitcoin transaction should be done at 1 sat/B unless there is some sort of emergency. Say no to wallet traffic guessing nonsense, bitcoin transactions are cheap when you are in control.

So next time you wanted to gift $10 to someone, don't let the (idiot) wallet burn $5 to send, when a manual 1 sat/B fee could easily lower that to about 3.
I agree that you should use lower fees if your transaction doesn't need to be done right away, but 1sat/B is so low it would take a week or more to process the transaction. You don't need to give half of the transaction for fees, but don't be so cheap, 50 cents on a tx of 10$ isn't that bad, you wont go broke.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are so few women buying into Bitcoin? on: December 01, 2019, 10:39:23 AM
I think it's mostly because women mostly aren't into technology or investing so they couldn't care less. Also, if I may be honest, men are the primary money makers in any household and women are made for spending that money (no to be sexist, but that's mostly how it is, with exceptions).

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bjarne Stroustrup is disappointed that C++ is being used by BTC on: November 13, 2019, 06:54:21 PM
I get that some people don't like or endorse the use of Bitcoin, but the statement that mining is mostly done by criminals isn't even close to true. Criminals use Bitcoin, but mining doesn't really have anything to do with it, Bitcoin is mostly used only for transfering money undetected. He has the right to be unhappy that Bitcoin is using C++, but as he is, Bitcoin users are also unhappy because criminals are destroying Bitcoins reputation.

Also, Bitcoin wasting energy is not some valid point. It's not like we are going to run out of electricity, we aren't relying on expendable sources so it isn't that a problem. If you pay for the electricity, you should have the right to do anything with it.

15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Money is Dirty Money on: October 20, 2019, 05:23:31 PM
I don't think that way. If I made money, no one should look at where do I spend it or on what I use it for. Why would it even be such a bad thing? It isn't that much of a big deal, you give money and then maybe you win more or lose it all. A big percentage of money given for building churches and other religious establishments comes from mafia or some types of criminals, so gambling isn't that bad.
no one requires you to tell where you get your money and where the money is used for, it's a privacy right. Winning, losing, or at least the results you get from gambling are also none of the business of others. You must know that not everyone has the same perspective, some say gambling is bad and categorized as "dirty money" and some say the opposite. how do you show valid data that the mafia provides funds with a large percentage in terms of religious institutions? your opinion is too bad.
It's pretty much what you could call a public secret, everyone knows it is like that, but no one takes action or talks about it. It's not my opinion, it's reality.

18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling as a profession: there's people who live out of gambling? on: October 05, 2019, 06:56:59 PM
The only people I know that made a fortune or are making a living from gambling are mostly cheating. Such as labeled cards for poker or other card games or other framed games. Gambling sometimes does give you money, but you cant live from that, you either spend it or lose it in another run, so it can't really be a profession.

20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What your family thinks about that you into crypto on: August 14, 2019, 02:19:09 PM
My family didn't really know that I was earning Bitcoin and thought that I am only wasting my time on the computer and phone. When I told them that I am going to buy a guitar for myself using Bitcoin, they thought it was some kind of scam until my guitar arrived. They still don't get the concept and I am sick of explaining so it is just an online wallet with fiat on it as far as they're concerned.
