I agree with @madnessteat that saying novice must spend a lot of time and effort to have self control because that thing can prevents or avoids novice from the risks of playing gambling. Playing gambling gives risks to all people, including novice but the risks will be bigger for the novice because they will lack of all needed to enjoy the gambling.
