2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC defeats the purpose of Crypto. Thoughts anyone? on: November 04, 2019, 01:37:34 PM
The KYC process annoys the hell out of me. I remember a time when you could trade coins freely and without owning up to your identity at all. Not that I'm hiding anything, I just don't like every man and his dog having a copy of my government ID - I feel that's very intrusive. I mean the whole idea of cryptocurrency was anonymous peer-to-peer trading without government intervention. Now it seems you can't fart in the wrong direction without someone breathing down your neck.

I mean I get it, exchanges, ICO's, etc, want to be on the safe side -- although what I really object to is these places accepting my crypto first and then telling me that I need to give them a mugshot if I want to use it, or withdraw it again. It's a nightmare.

Anyone else a bit miffed with all this identity craziness we're in right now?

Or am I just being a grumpy old man?

same as you I also don't like charging KYC because it's like selling our personal data to people. and I sometimes also fear that my KYC is used for bad things. so from now on I am more selective in choosing projects I will not join projects that use KYC requirements. and actually cryptocurrency does not require KYC because it is decentralized and anonymous. but now some IEO projects must also include KYC.

In fact, there are many popular projects using KYC because it is important for them to avoid fraud, KYC is indeed important for us where our assets will be safe if something happens to your account, and it is true that you are selective in choosing it must be because not all projects are honest .
It all could be resolved only if the project that demands KYC being reviewed by the government thoroughly until it is proven that their intention is no harm or even the government itself is the one who provides the kyc verification.
It is just silly to think that the government demanding the project to obey the regulation regarding money laundering but they are also risking the safety of many people here.
KYC can resolve problem with bounty campaign participant join using multiple account, many bounty participant cheat bounty campaign to earn much reward coin, with KYC system keep away from cheater bounty campaign. KYC for ICO investment is not match for investor have submit KYC and giving their data because they invest ICO without get free coins.
3  Economy / Economics / Re: How many bitcoiners on here have actually used bitcoin/crypto for commerce? on: November 04, 2019, 12:41:19 PM
Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general will only advance if people actually use it for more than speculation.

In the past we've seen lots of retailers enabling bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in their checkouts, and then been disappointed that hardly anyone has used the function. And we have had some orgs like Steam disabling bitcoin and giving up on it.

So how many people on here have actually used cryptocurrency in real life?

I'll start: I haven't used bitcoin (because I consider that savings), but I have used dogecoin to buy gift cards and bitcoincash (BCH) to deposit to a betting website via BitPay.

Anyone else want to share their experiences?
Bitcoiner only use bitcoin as trading and investing, not available using bitcoin as currency payment make many bitcoin can't use bitcoin payment purchase, maybe if bitcoiner live in country have support using bitcoin like Japan and South Korea. Other bitcoiner country only use bitcoin for investment assets and using for online transaction can support using bitcoin as payment system.
4  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin is not that good as currency? on: November 04, 2019, 07:47:00 AM
It looks like more and more outlets are accepting bitcoin:

As of late October 2019, 15,558 business venues worldwide were accepting Bitcoin (BTC) as a method of payment, up 18% from a year earlier, according to

The problem is, unless bitcoiners actually use bitcoin to spend in these places, they'll just disable the payment function.

It's very much use it or lose it - but this community is more focused on speculation than on making it profitable for retailers to accept payment with bitcoin.
There are only have available using bitcoin for trading and investing, for currency if have available and support with many country can use bitcoin as currency I will use bitcoin, there are many country not allowed using bitcoin as transaction payment because less get support with store for adopting bitcoin as transaction payment, they only need bitcoin as trading and investing assets.
It requires some time before bitcoin can go mainstream but let me just tell you, there are few countries and organizations that accept payment and charity in bitcoin. Moreover, it is not the right time to consume bitcoin in daily purchases. It is the most precious asset and should be kept for long period of time. Bitcoin is that wand which can make you a millionaire quicker than your imagination.
Yeah bitcoin as an asset is the best thing ever because any ordinary asset always remain on its own price while the bitcoin increases with the passage of time and the benefit is much more, so consuming bitcoin would means to lose the asset along with the profit, so bitcoin is much more precious than the currencies also many institutes are accepting it now as payment.
Bitcoin price not control by any one and government give up how to manage bitcoin price and make not good side of bitcoin good currency, when you accepted bitcoin as payment transaction but after few hour price of bitcoin dump you will lost your money with bitcoin, but have increase value if you accept bitcoin as currency when bitcoin up, you can take much profit when your bitcoin increase with higher price.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO investors are more excited on exchanges than product developments? on: November 04, 2019, 02:30:11 AM
This is the reality nowadays, but I don't know if you agree or not.

As what I have observed since last year, lots of ICO investors are more excited and making some noise when a crypto startup announced that they will be listed in some exchanges.

I have browsed a lot of Telegram groups coming from various ICOs, IEOs and other forms of token sales. When they announce their partnership with a "XXX" company or they have launched their v2.0 of their product, it seems that the community are kind of less impressed and not excited about that.

Last year, there's an ICO where until now, they haven't listed in an exchange as they focused more on product development. It's like almost 2 years and they haven't listed their token yet in exchanges but they only give us a quarterly report on what they're doing with the product. It results for most investors to become impatient and demand their money back or getting listed to exchanges at least.

This is what I've been observing for now, the behavior of most investors who are expecting their returns or gains after the ICO is complete. What do you say guys? Agree with this or not?

Announce with exchange market fro ICO coin very excited for investor than ICO announce with their real product, give very positive effect price and increase higher than 50% if ICO announce new exchange market than publish with new product adopt by an altcoin, new product not give positive effect for price increase to higher and keep not interested with investor.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] | Finple | Fintech Project FINPLE for the Creation of Common Value on: October 20, 2019, 01:25:40 AM
But, I think Lee Ik-Chi on their photo is not a real person. Because, that photo posted on articles 2012. But, i cant find Lee Ik-Chi, how you can believe this project?

It is not that I believe this project. But hard to find further evidence because they are Chinese and if you find them, it is in Chinese and you need to translate via google. The true meaning of the article might get lost during translation. But anyway, if those partners are not real, then, they are just fooling themselves. And people now are very careful in crypto investments. I don't think they will blindly send the money without doing any deeper study towards this project.
yes indeed the concept offered id quite interesting but now people don't easily give confidence, they don't want to take big risks and choose to find out the truth in detail. if they announce partnership they should be able to provide information that's open, this must be considered and responsed to so that doubts don't arise
8  Economy / Economics / Re: BEEN IN THIS GAME FOR 6 YEARS on: October 19, 2019, 03:48:36 AM
very fortunate if you still have the remaining bitcoin savings, at least be calm with the predictions that are circulating. indeed not everyone believe it because of the current conditions that are less convicing, but i'm sure their doubts will be proven in the next few years
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The Game $$$-1st edition $1,000,000 prize pool on: October 19, 2019, 12:57:58 AM
The winning prize would be for one person? Or 1000000 prize will be distributed between top contestant?

It's not clear but I assume it will be one person. More info coming soon! Stay tuned.
if only for 1 person I think it's impossible because this is part of a team promotion to introduce their project and I hope it's shared with everyone who follows the rules clearly because as far as I know there are too many greedy people let alone this is a very big gift
certainly the prize not for 1 person, we can read that's a prize pool and i my opinion not all participants can also get rations from the prize because there they say ia a competition where there are winners and there are losers
10  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Whatís Stopping Crypto Markets from Entering the Mainstream on: October 18, 2019, 09:09:52 AM
it must be admitted that most people still feel comfortable with fiat money, after all they can get it and spend it. most haven't tried and considered cryptocurrency, bad issues that often circulate become one of the factors that make people worry
11  Economy / Economics / Re: Would a global disaster increase or decrease the Bitcoin value ? on: October 18, 2019, 07:35:04 AM
it's possible that bitcoin will be badly affected by disasters of it's experienced by countries where people use bitcoin a lot, but besides that there are also many factor that influence the increase or decrease
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: YOUSPE - New Brand in Retail Banking [contest inside] on: October 11, 2019, 02:51:09 AM
These are interconnected things. What do users and investors need? This is a work product and a good price. If the project can fulfill these conditions, it will be very popular.
the team is working to be realized, so that there will be a good impact on prices later. they cannot change conditions as easily as thought, must always be careful in taking steps and decisions. it's very decisive for the continuation of this project whether get interest or  otherwise and we didn't expect it
13  Economy / Economics / Re: Your Source of Investment Money? on: October 11, 2019, 01:27:12 AM
i'm grateful to never sell assets when i want to invest, first time using savings money, it was very risky but i was lucky to get a profit in a short time and then that was the source of money to invest even though some of it was used for daily needs. i think like that because it's better to use your own money than to debt
14  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Religion of Peace? Why Religion At All on: October 11, 2019, 12:08:08 AM
you should find out in more detail, no one teaches bad things as mentioned. i'm sure it's only a person who wants to damage the image of religion and create hostility, if you study deeper you will find peace
15  Local / Altcoins (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: [ANN][IEO] I-Chain | The Revolution of Digital Advertising on: October 09, 2019, 06:27:09 AM

16  Local / Altcoins (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: [ANN] [STO] LEARN ONLINE TOKEN LOLToken BY EIU.AC on: October 08, 2019, 07:20:06 AM
17  Local / Altcoins (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: [ANN][POW][CLO] Callisto Network - Cold Staking & Security Audits on: October 08, 2019, 06:43:20 AM

18  Local / Altcoins (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Greencoin Token Memecahkan Masalah Nyata Dunia - IEO soon on: October 07, 2019, 08:16:29 AM
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which coins to buy now for 2019? on: April 18, 2019, 10:50:09 AM
Which coins is everyone buying now ready for growth and innovation in 2019?

remains the choice of the top 10 altcoins if you want to invest.
actually there are many choices if you want to buy at a very cheap price, but there is no guarantee that all altcoins will grow high especially for the altcoins that have been abandoned by dev and become shitcoin. so you should do research
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum is growing. Someone's pouring money into it. on: April 18, 2019, 10:47:42 AM
Ethereum in early April was not in the best shape. ICO began to withdraw funds and the coin fell sharply to $ 400. Miners in a panic, and traders saw the picture and bought. Now ETH grew up and went to school. But thanks to what he was able rage?
Do you think EOS really affects the price of Ethereum?

until now the market is still very unstable and volatile again.
so you have to be careful when you want to invest or trade.
but I believe that ethereum is an altcoin that has the potential to grow in the next few years
