261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Litecoin massively undervalued? on: November 03, 2013, 03:33:39 PM
Perhaps a correction is underway. Wink
262  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: DRILLBIT SYSTEM Miners - 2.7 GH/s thumbs 0.65 BTC, 21.7 GH/s boards 2 BTC on: November 03, 2013, 09:07:53 AM
I'm personally planning to direct my Drillbit USB at alternative SHA-256 coins when they are more profitable to mine than BTC, particularly PPC and TRC. No real need to stick solely to mining BTC, IMO.
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Litecoin massively undervalued? on: November 03, 2013, 08:59:51 AM
There have been a few set backs recently, mainly due to the closure of LTC-Global. Given that a replacement for it has been launched and another one is due to come online in the near future, I think the price might go back up due to demand for Litecoins to pay dividends with these exchanges, particularly from those listed who aren't mining operations.

On that note, perhaps people have been selling Litecoins too cheaply on exchanges, which has brought the price down lower than it should be valued at, and it wouldn't take too much effort for large-scale Litecoin miners to start selling their coins at higher prices to offset their costs of production and for others to follow suit as a result.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why the loss of confidence in litecoin? on: November 02, 2013, 07:54:47 AM
There are a few more sites popping up that allow for the direct purchase of Litecoins with fiat, so the reliance on Gox is for the ignorant, IMO.
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHY IS CRYPTSY TRADING DEAD COINS!!! on: November 01, 2013, 09:19:54 AM
Who the fuck cares? If people want to trade their niche coins, let them. No point getting butthurt over someone else's choices in cryptocurrencies.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What altcoins do u hold? on: October 30, 2013, 04:08:45 PM
LTC and PPC. LTC has more uses at the moment and more easier to buy direct with the Australian Dollar, whereas PPC is purely for long-term storage and for interest generation every few months or so. Both have fairly active development teams working to improve and promote them, so they're miles ahead of the other alts in this regard.

I mine others to trade for these.
267  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Cudaminer? on: October 28, 2013, 02:20:08 PM
Hi I have been looking for cudaminer to mine bitcoins with my nvidia rig but everyone i download only works for scrypt mining. can someone share a link with me?

You're better off using this to mine SHA-256 coins.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: litecoin dead ? on: October 23, 2013, 06:40:27 PM
"Bitcoin Cultists" was purely tongue-in-cheek, but there are some out there who haven't quite taken the blinkers off or downright stubborn in supporting Bitcoin 100%, all the same. Wink
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: litecoin dead ? on: October 23, 2013, 06:24:07 PM
So long as the minimum limit on Bitcoin transactions remains, the case for alternatives like Litecoin will remain strong. It might not be much of a problem now, but if the price of Bitcoin skyrockets and it remains in place, then it will not be used much, if at all, for smaller day-to-day transactions, in spite of the Bitcoin Cultists saying it will replace all fiat for such transactions. I have yet to see this be addressed by those who say the days of alts are numbered. If anything, I don't think they have a leg to stand on regarding this scenario.

Given that a new Litecoin stockmarket just launched and another one will soon be as well, both to replace LTC-Global, I'd say the price dropping is just temporary. They might even play a key role in the price of Litecoin going back up by creating a demand for Litecoins to be used to pay dividends, thanks to good old supply-and-demand. I seriously doubt Mt.Gox will be adding Litecoins anytime soon, going by their poor track record, but Crypto-Trade allow for direct purchasing of Litecoins using US Dollars or Euros, so Mt.Gox may not necessarily be needed at all if more people look for or create alternatives such as these. Hell, I'd probably use BTCMarkets to buy Litecoins as I wouldn't have to muck around with converting Australian Dollars into either US Dollars or Euros in the first place.
270  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Opinion on the US on: October 16, 2013, 08:06:33 AM
I think the US need to stop policing the world and fix their own problems first, such as a certain national debt about to reach its limit. For example, Japan and South Korea don't need a stack of US military bases, they should allow for Japan to remilitarise to pre-WW2 levels and let them and South Korea work out a joint military alliance with other nations like the Philippines and Vietnam to keep China from trying to encroach on their territories. Same with the Middle East, the Arab League could easily provide their own regional security without needing US bases in Saudi Arabia. Even their base in Germany would have to be seen as pretty much redundant since the end of the Cold War and the expansion of the European Union to include former USSR countries. I also don't welcome the idea of US Marines being increasingly deployed in Australia, particularly in Darwin.

I find it mildly disgusting that they can blow a shitload on their military, but have thousands of homeless people and people dying because they can't afford ludicrously expensive healthcare.

Talk of a possible double dissolution election happening in the near future if the carbon tax repeal is knocked back. Will be interesting to see how things play out from here.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scriptor Solo - 25KHs at 5W Scrypt FPGA in a USB dongle on: October 15, 2013, 04:19:28 PM
Good start on the USB Scrypt mining front, IMO. Might look into getting one in the near future once some spare funds become available, mainly so I can scrypt mine overnight with my Raspberry Pi so I don't consume so much power by leaving my PC on instead.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PPC] PPCoin Released! - First Long-Term Energy-Efficient Crypto-Currency on: October 11, 2013, 08:56:19 AM
My understanding of the white paper is that the coin age of the coins older than 30 days acts as a hashing multiplier. No luck yet for me, though I should have a few more coins reach the 30 minimum soon, so should hopefully see something happen soon.
274  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] - GROUP BUY of BITFURY Chips + DRILLBIT SYSTEM mining assembly on: October 09, 2013, 11:41:02 AM
Hi,

I noticed my name hasn't been greened yet in the order queue and I'm certain I've paid all the fees that I need to. Can you change it please if this is the case?

Cheers
275  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Whats everyone doing with their GPU now? on: October 08, 2013, 04:12:07 PM
Mining alts, trading mostly for PPC at the moment for long-term storage, with the occasional BTC here and there.
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the point of Altcoins? on: October 08, 2013, 11:17:56 AM
The current block on microtransactions with Bitcoin will only strengthen the case for alternative coins, so as long as it remains in place or becomes permanent.
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MultiMiner & MobileMiner: Your Coins. Your Pools. Your way. Win/Mac/nix/Mobl/Ava on: September 15, 2013, 02:01:50 AM
Had some trouble trying to run Multiminer on a Raspberry Pi, particularly using the Mono command to run. It might be due to me still getting to grips with Linux, but I've got up to the point of installing Mono as per the instructions and it doesn't recognise the file to be used when I enter "mono mult********". and it said something to the effect of "MultiMiner.***.*** doesn't have a valid CML image". I'll try again, but I get the feeling I'll run into the exact same problem.

Yeah, creepy manchild has romped in.
279  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will the US strike against Syria cause a world war? on: September 06, 2013, 07:58:15 PM
Hopefully Saudi Arabia gets flattened in the process and the supply of funding for Sunni extremism gets cut off in the process.
280  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Plausibility of Syria strike / Sparking WWIII ? on: September 06, 2013, 06:19:38 PM
Probably will be a catalyst for a Russian & Chinese invasion/liberation of the US if this does happen, along with a few targeted drone strikes on places like the Westboro Baptist Church.
