1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Overwritten new wallet with coins with old backup on: May 20, 2016, 11:35:52 AM
I realize it might be lost for ever and i can live with that. (Never invest more than you can afford to lose - though it's a fuck up)

Tried what is on that link with the same result, password not accepted.

I'm willing to offer 50% of the content of the address to anyone able to help me, content is a bit more than 1BTC
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Overwritten new wallet with coins with old backup on: May 20, 2016, 11:00:40 AM
So... I was in a somewhat drunken mode the other night and managed to restore my wallet after recently purchasing some BTC. The new address which received the BTC was effectively gone.

I did some digging and after a few e-mails I was told to look for "key-backup-protobuf" in the app folder. I found the file and the date and time modified  correlates well with the time of the transaction. So I started to google for solutions to import the private keys to my android wallet, how to decrypt the file to access the private key for export to another wallet. Basically any way i can figure out to recover my coins.

Through ES file explorer i opened the file as "restore wallet" and I was prompted to provide a password. I tried my usual passwords, I can restore every backup I got back to 2014, but "key-backup-protobuf" is unaffected by any of the passwords.

I'm not really sure where to go from here and would really apreciate some help

Edit: Schildbach app
