ibminer can you try doing a song for the whole bitcointalk forum and including the history of the forum and the whole local board and there reputable members in the song . That was the intent of the "Scroll Back" song(s), but there is a lot of history on the forum, so even with that I didn't cover anywhere near all of it, and didn't get much into some of the notable historic names that have come through, which I think would be interesting. Ah the good ole days! We were actually sunning our perineum which is between the anus and the scrotum... but I don't remember why.
Fascinating. I apparently missed the sunning era. That's probably something I'd block from my memory as well. Perineum sunning.
Sounds like a good song title right there! "I am the great cornholio, I need sunning for my bunghole!" lol In all seriousness, I definitely have had periods of time where I've needed to step away from reading the WO. Given the size of the thread, I've certainly missed some things over the years. As for reading the entire thread, I have some thoughts... |

ibminer you should create a playlist in forum, this is not your first song you created You did a great work with lyrics and it is amazing and scary to see what AI can do this days. I suggest other members to watch and listen other videos and song created by IB: https://www.youtube.com/@IBProdsThank you! I'm building up a list! Still have some more work to do though... There is nothing wrong with a series - or perhaps a sequel.
Hmm, what additional references or people do you think should be in a sequel? Around 84 bpm? This caught my attention. How do you produce the music then, MPC-style or DAW? Most old-school Hip Hop producers i personally know strictly use an MPC, one of the old ones (MPC 2000,3000, sometimes even MPC 60 for gritty low-fi additions). I know about the syncing issues, so i suggested the term "around" implies older gear that is not quantized to death like modern gear. Anyway, there are some options to not stretch the vocals too much, while 84 bpm is nice to use for 170+ genres and there's a solution for 140's as well: Triplet timing. More or less depends on the catchiness of quick edits, and if it should work as an alternative version (vocal tracks mostly taken over completely), or a remix (using prominent phrases as samples, played more like an instrument). We'll see I say around 84bpm because after analyzing the final song, it said something like 83.96, so around 84, but I honestly had been prompting it to use 86bpm, I guess it doesn't always listen! I'm technically using a GAW, Generative Audio Workstation, essentially a DAW with AI capabilities throughout the features, still takes work to get it perfect though. Someone like yourself would probably have a lot of fun with it. There are a few out there, and I've read there are ways to tie them into MPC's but I don't have any experience with that. That is absolutely brilliant, ibminer.
The Wall Observer is where some of the only remaining true OG’s hang. This is a great tribute to them.
Thanks for mentioning me. Great lyrics, great beat, fantastic effort.
Pretty cool, bro.
Thanks!
~ Love the hats part... good effort @ibminer ~ That's beautiful! A wonderful tribute to a legendary thread on Bitcointalk - thanks!
Thank you for the feedback gentlemen, much appreciated!! ~
Every line of the the lyrics comes with a new reality about Wall Observer, it's not just about the price, it captures the whole culture around the thread.
The sound... Like a 70's RnB. Op this is the second masterpiece of hits from you within the last 7 days. Is music your part of your professional career or something you do for fun and the passion associated with it?
Thanks for the feedback, definitely not my daytime job. |

a song for the Wall
is a great honor for us
we thank you bigly
#haiku
I actually started out trying to make the song a series of haiku's, but I couldn't get it to sound good at all so I had to scrap that idea. Although, thinking about it now, I should have at least added a reference to sunday haiku's in there. You guys are making me want to unpublish it and insert more lyrics, lol... it's already 5+ minutes long though! Nice song OP, you are a good rapper and RnB musician too. I love rap and enjoyed how you were bursting. Why didn't you take your music career seriously. Who knows, you might become famous because you gat a good voice and melody. Your rap made me remember Immortal Technique. I had to go listen to Ballard of Loyce V and it was as if I'm listening to all these 80s blues. Nice one, keep it up. At least, we got a musician in the forum. We hardly see songs up to five minutes these days.
Thanks, I'll take credit for the lyrics but the performance & lyric video, with a lot of human help, is AI assisted.. or SI now? (lol)... it's easier said than done. It doesn't start off great, but after hundreds of iterations and tweaking lyrics, audio in various sections, style adjustments, etc., it eventually gets to what I am looking to hear from the lyrics. Well done, also the video is not only animated stills, but delivers some context. The lyrics are brilliant, with nice dynamics in the flow. My favorite lines: Rusty pipes and ancient memes,
Laser eyes and moonshot dreams.
Honey badger doesn't care,
Pumps and crashes still right there.
FUD rolls in, then FUD is gone,
Chart Buddy quietly carries on.
Thank you! I've been just going with one image for prior songs but I wanted to expand this one a bit and have more related to the lyrics as it played, I'm happy you were able to appreciate them! I still have to check out the other songs, i am almost active only inside the WO on this forum, so i missed all those before. However, i'm thinking about a 140/170 bpm remix, but since i believe a remix has to be at least as good as the original, in some ways even better (in terms of "catchy") to be justified for a release, and this would be hard to achieve, imho, because the track sounds pretty complete in itself. Thanks for sharing All good, hope you enjoy the others. This ended up around 84bpm. I wanted to keep this one a little slower to give more room for intelligible names and keep that classic old-school underground hip hop feel, but a remix isn't a bad idea, there could be ways to only increase the music's bpm but still keep the vocals in that range. I think the other favorite, besides the recent Ballad of LoyceV, has been the original Scroll Back, I tried to keep that one short and more catchy. I eventually did extended versions in 2 genres, but I haven't really heard any feedback on those and not many views, I kinda liked how the blues/folk version turned out more myself, I couldn't get exactly what I wanted to hear out of the punk version but I think it still turned out alright. Thanks for keeping a backup copy! |

Thank you! That's definitely a good one. But am curious do you have outside of the forum fans, if you do they would not understand some of this songs. I am enjoying the series so far I hope you put out more. The fans I have outside of the forum are colleagues, friends, and family... and none of them would understand these songs lol. I'm not even sure how many forum users understand some of the references in Watch the Wall, but they should be able to get some of them. Very well done.
Thank you! Three things I think are missing: - Mindtrust
- Trains
- infamous dick pic
I at least got a train in with HairyMaclairy! ("Bitcoin monotheist, ride the train into the sky.") |

A song about the largest & longest running thread on Bitcointalk, the Wall Observer. I've been working on this one for a while, and it admittedly got longer than I wanted, but I hoped to get as many names as I could in there. No offense to anyone I may have missed, there was only so much room, and I didn't want it to just be a song of names, I wanted to try and tell a story. But, even at the expense of dragging the song on, I still forced a lot of lyrics in here to try and accommodate. Hopefully I got the pronunciation correct on them all! Notes: * The lyrics all come from respect and for acknowledgement, but I also tried to keep things fun, so hopefully no WOers were harmed in the making of this song. ** Also added additional AI imagery throughout this lyric video. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/4dAWLd6YxgcLyrics: Back when Adam built the thread, the order books on display,
Bids stacked deep and asks stacked high, everybody had their say.
Price would rip, price would dip, knives were falling every day,
Some said fifty was the top, others yelled... "BUY ANYWAY!"
Years rolled on, infofront kept the old machine alive,
Through the crashes, bubbles, panic - somehow we would still survive.
ChartBuddy in the corner, never bothered with debate,
While the bulls predict a moonshot and the bears predict our fate.
Drops another quiet chart while everybody starts to fight,
Then the Wall spends twenty pages on a wick from Tuesday night.
Newbies sell the bottom, old hands barely even blink,
One guy drops a thesis, three guys answer with a link.
Price goes down "Manipulation!" Price goes up "We knew it all!"
Price goes flat for half a day, we find a meme and watch the Wall.
We watch the Wall, watch the Wall,
Pump it high, then watch it fall.
Ramen nights and moonshot calls,
Same old crew, we seen it all.
Stiff Stifler starts pumpin', now the green bars growing taller,
Bears were talking heavy - now they're sounding somehow smaller.
Morning doom, by afternoon they're posting rockets in the thread,
Funny how a single candle turns the panic on its head.
Green dildo on the chart, now the bears are nowhere seen,
Yesterday "Bitcoin's dead," today they're leading Team Green.
Ramen boiling on the stove when every balance takes a hit,
Salt-packet fine cuisine - Michelin would probably call it shit.
Market starts to pump, lobster, steak, a proper feast,
Two hours later candles dump - ramen's back, to say the least.
JayJuanGee says "short reply," everybody knows what's next,
Scroll until your finger hurts through seventeen layers of text.
Quote a quote inside a quote, add a valid point to show,
By the time you reach the ending, Bitcoin moved a day ago.
Homer sees the numbers climbing, time to craft another hat,
Every milestone gets a brim - you know he's got a hat for that.
When Vegeta crossed nine thousand, thought he'd finally earned some rest,
Bitcoin added one more digit just to put him to the test.
We watch the Wall, watch the Wall,
Pump it high, then watch it fall.
Ramen nights and moonshot calls,
Same old crew, we seen it all.
El Duderino rolls on through while everybody loses cool,
Calm enough to make the panic look completely like a fool.
BobLawblaw can drop one line and send the whole damn thread off track,
Twenty memes and six pages later, good luck finding your way back.
cAPSLOCK joins the chatter, vapourminer brings the noise,
Philip's watching numbers while the rest are playing with their toys.
Someone says, "Last chance below..." then picks a number for the call,
Three months later quotes himself like he predicted anything at all.
Nails one lucky target, now he's prophet of the year,
Misses twenty others - somehow those just disappear.
All-time high hits, thread explodes, old usernames reappear,
Accounts asleep for seven years are suddenly all here.
"Gentlemen!" gets posted like a bell that marks the show,
Half the Wall is celebrating, half says, "Plenty left to go."
Every bull can draw a rainbow, every bear predicts the slide,
Move the scale and shift the line, each chart can prove your side.
Then Bitcoin does whatever, blows predictions into smoke,
And the Wall responds exactly right... by posting one more joke.
Biodom digs through old cycles, tracing patterns through the years,
Hueristic buys the blood when red candles feed the fears.
Toxic2040 drops another Wall report,
Checks charts, tracks volume, shows what markets have in store.
OutOfMemory marks the levels, watching through the night,
Staring at stars and charts, keeping both of them in sight.
AlcoHoDL keeps on holding, red or green, his grip stays tight,
fillippone counts the stats and gets the numbers right.
Monthly figures all in line, tracking where the story goes,
Looking back through years gone by, watching how history flows.
We watch the Wall, watch the Wall,
Pump it high, then watch it fall.
Ramen nights and moonshot calls,
Same old crew, we seen it all.
Rusty pipes and ancient memes,
Laser eyes and moonshot dreams.
Honey badger doesn't care,
Pumps and crashes still right there.
FUD rolls in, then FUD is gone,
Chart Buddy quietly carries on.
Last of the V8s, old-school voice, left his mark across the Wall,
"Be a bank" beneath his name, dry one-liners through it all.
LFC with diamond hands, scans the headlines, holds his stack,
Waits through all the macro noise for green candles to attack.
HairyMaclairy, mostly long, bull hat tilted high,
Bitcoin monotheist, ride the train into the sky.
JimboToronto warms the chopper up for flight,
Keeps the keys in cold storage, tucked away and locked up tight.
Torque pulls the macro thread,
Rates, the Fed, and money flow,
Ties it back to Bitcoin when the market slows.
Price was only half of why the Wall became the spot,
People came to watch the charts, stayed for memes and talked a lot.
Hats and charts and walls of text, the trolls that wandered through the fray,
Ramen bowls and Stifler pumps that somehow never fade away.
Old hands tell them, "Zoom it out," pretend they haven't checked the price,
Then refresh it fourteen times and give the same exact advice.
Market up, market down, after years, we've seen it all,
Same fear, same greed, same arguments, still we watch the Wall.
We watch the Wall, watch the Wall,
Pump it high, then watch it fall.
Ramen nights and moonshot calls,
Same old crew, we seen it all.
Watch the Wall, watch the Wall,
Green or red, we ride it all.
Bears get loud, then Stifler calls...
Start the pump and shake the Wall.

Thank you everyone for the feedback! ibminer now you have to create another song about TryNinja and his Bitlist archiving tool aka Ninjastic tool I'm focused on a WO track at the moment, but I mentioned Ninjastic & Bitlist in all the Scroll Back tracks. LoyceV just happened to trigger this particular song idea in my head and I couldn't let it go! ~I'm throwing it out there, we should make a sort of thread containing all the songs created on the theme, like a sort of jukebox I too have done some to troll my colleagues or some politicians Thank you babo, definitely part of my original plan: ~I also have a few more tracks I'm working on currently, all with various aspects and themes related to Bitcoin and the forum itself. I've thought about having tracks related to collectibles, the wall observer, moderators, scammers, alts, local sections, etc... hopefully leading to a full album of 7-10 songs, with mixed genres, which touch on multiple aspects of the forum.~
Not sure I can pull them all off, but I'm trying, as time permits! Don't ever leave us, LoyceV!!

~
Awesome, appreciated. Thanks for the feedback! A very simple question: Why is this topic in Meta?~
If you listen and understand, the entire song is related to the tools LoyceV created and actively maintains for the forum and its users. It is, of course, meant to honor LoyceV himself, so Reputation probably also makes sense. 4:22 minutes of pure smile on my face Thanks for this, I'm honored! I used it to decorate loyce.club. And my Signature Excellent. As soon as you mentioned Peaches, the idea triggered in my head... started toying with the lyrics a while ago but hadn't really been able to get the performance I wanted out of them until recently. Glad you liked it! |

This song was inspired by LoyceV himself, in a message a little while back when he mentioned the "Peaches" song by Bowser. https://youtu.be/S39y2YGP7HELyrics: Threads after midnight glow on my screen.
Scrolling back farther... than I wanted.
Deleted posts vanish, or so I believed.
But every old sentence is waiting for me.
I changed the wording, I moved things around.
But somehow the old one can still be found.
I refresh one more time, and there it will be,
Another archive link... from LoyceV.
LoyceV
Why do you log everything?
LoyceV
Why does every record stay?
LoyceV
I can edit, rearrange, make the wording look brand-new.
But the version I was hiding still comes right back into view.
LoyceV
Why do you log everything?
Trust lists stay quiet, flags make no sound.
Just calm archives threaded all out.
No grand accusation, no victory speech.
Just dates and old links still sitting in reach.
No decree, just clear proof by LoyceV
I know what I wrote, I know what they see.
Still I refresh it like the page might agree.
LoyceV

But the version I was hiding still comes right back into view.
LoyceV
Why do you log everything?
Nobody made me type those lines. Nobody told me to pretend.
The log just shows what I decide.
Yet here I am, surprised again.
Maybe this time, I'll leave it alone..
...No. One more post, then I'm gone.
LoyceV
There it is, the timeline log.
LoyceV
Every link, every date.
LoyceV
Every claim stands or it falls.
And every time I think I've changed it all.
The archive sits there like nothing changed at all.
LoyceV
Every word, still there to find
I could stop handing you new things to find.
But somehow that answer never crosses my mind.
LoyceV

LoyceV
I can edit, rearrange, but it never goes away.

hey ib,
I never knew I won most merit in a month this year. Could you add an "Additional Badges" to the profile that could have such awards with the date we could copy/paste elsewhere? Using a CDN solution (like bunny.net) would make this cost you only pennies per month.
I've thought about this before but there are a good amount of users, mainly in the most merit category, where it would create way too many badges on the page. The only workaround I've ever come up with is to have a link next to each, which pops out a badge image in a separate window for that particular date, but displaying them all is probably too much unless they were really small and simple... but they probably deserve better than that. |

Does anyone realize that some of the data in BPIP is currently not UpToDate?
I found an anomaly that my post count didn't change from the value of 7575, when the current data was supposed to be 7595.
~
^
It only works for updating the profil info in the table, but not the badges. I've been trying this since I noticed this about 5 days ago. I assume this is due to the addition of a new badge type for lower categories.
Does it update your badges the way you do?
The profile page continued to show the correct up-to-date values that parsers were saving, but the procedure that periodically updates the ranks, and subsequently also feeds the queries the report pages use, has an issue which is causing it to not automatically run. I ran this manually a few minutes ago and it updated correctly, but I need to check with suchmoon on why it's not running automatically. As for some of the recent blank pages and 504 errors, these were unfortunately related to DDoS's that suchmoon has been working to mitigate... should hopefully be settled down. BPIP must have some haters out there. |
|
|
|
I think the scraper for TrustLog is stuck. Thank you! We're checking this one out, it does appear to be having an issue though. This is fixed now (thanks to suchmoon!) But: why not just go back to the Top 1000 the way it was before?
You've sort of touched on it in your response, many people you recognize moved up in the list by expanding to 10,000, whereas previously many of them didn't have any recognition rank on BPIP. As the forum has grown in users, 1000 felt like too low of a cap. Part of me feels like "Formula 2" could be tweaked in terms of the weight of each rank effecting the score, maybe 45% merit/40% trust/15% activity, 50% merit/40% trust/10% activity... I don't know, still thinking it through. |

Can you try a few lists with different formulas? How about taking the square root out of each rank, so one large ranking doesn't have a strong influence if the other 2 rankings are small.
Example: satoshi: 26^0.5 + 10000^0.5 + 21^0.5=109.68. You'd have to do the entire list to see if this makes sense or not.
~ satoshi recognized = 10000 - POWER(((POWER(26, 0.75) * 0.45) + (POWER(21, 0.75) * 0.45) + (POWER(10000, 0.75) * 0.10)), 1.0 / 0.75) = 9475.524 ~ I gave these both a try. I couldn't easily fit the full lists here in a post, so I've linked them below. Formula 1The square root method from LoyceV. Full top 1000 list using this formulaUsers added to top 1000Users removed from top 1000Formula 2The version I mentioned above. Full top 1000 list using this formulaUsers added to top 1000Users removed from top 1000Personally, I like formula 2, as it keeps users like Hal and laszlo in there, and satoshi ends up higher, even though they all drop slightly... am I being too nostalgic? |

Just using square root may be too forgiving. Maybe softening the ranks, applying weight, then squaring it back toward the original scale. I asked AI. satoshi recognized = 10000 - POWER(((POWER(26, 0.75) * 0.45) + (POWER(21, 0.75) * 0.45) + (POWER(10000, 0.75) * 0.10)), 1.0 / 0.75) = 9475.524 Might be too complicated or hinder overly active users with not much merit or trust, but then maybe those are just shitposters lol *shrug* I'm curious what it would look like in either scenario so I'll try a few things out once I get a little more time, really didn't want to mess too much with the original formula, but I don't like seeing some of these users down in the ranks either, when they are clearly recognized by probably a lot of us. |

Can you also show a list of the 327 old names that dropped out of the Top 1000? From the new 327, I recognize at least a quarter of them by name.
My bad, it was actually 326 shown on the previous list! Nonetheless, this next list is a little depressing due to a few obvious big names that have fallen in ranks, mainly due to inactivity and/or lack of earned merit. Old Cur Profile Name MeritRank ActRank TrustRank Recognized

edit: We'd be getting into changing the formula entirely to weighted averages, but I'm wondering if something like this would help inactive users who have a lot of merit or trust: recognized = 10000 - ((meritrank * 0.45) + (trustrank * 0.45) + (actrank * 0.10)) |
|
|
|
Given the additional competition introduced with expanding to 10,000, especially for 0 trust users, there appear to be 327 326 new names in the top 1,000 Most Recognized now, when comparing the top 1,000 prior users to the new: Earned

-Added a top merited posts (per thread) report
~ Seems like the "Unique Senders" column shows the number of merit transactions instead. A minor detail, but could be confusing. Thank you! I made some distinct changes to correct this... pun intended. I think the scraper for TrustLog is stuck. Thank you! We're checking this one out, it does appear to be having an issue though. |

How is the Most Recognized calculated now?
The intent was to keep it the same and expand everything out to 10,000 ranks per category. The complications came primarily from the trust scores and the fact that ~2/3s of the users in that 10,000 group had a 0 value, and because the secondary sort is for date registered, it created larger fluctuations than anticipated under the recognition rank from older users. I knew some ranks were possibly going to shift with introducing a larger pool of users, but not to the extent of what occurred. Ultimately, after a long deliberation between SM and I, and while trying to maintain the original calculation as close as possible, we've landed on this: The " Most Trusted" ranking will assess 10,000 users, but will only display and rank those with a trust value greater than 0. At the time of this post, that last rank ends up being 3,677. This will obviously fluctuate. Any user with a 0 value for trust will use a default value in the "trust rank" of their recognition score, being +1 of the last visible rank (in this case, 3,678). Recognition = 10,000 - (earned merit rank + activity rank + trust rank) / 3)) - with "trust rank" having the default value mentioned above for any user with a 0 trust score. Other updates:
-New badges added for ranks between 1,000-10,000 -Added a top merited posts (per thread) report, example for this thread: https://bpip.org/MeritedPosts?tid=5213618.0-Fixed % flag link(s) on profile page to send the correct status -Fixed glitchy ?’s on main page and a few other minor bugs |
