821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 26, 2022, 06:26:32 PM
My pick for tonight.

Golden State Warriors  vs Memphis Grizzlies (-8.5) = Memphis Grizzlies Win 1,99 Odds.

Good luck guys, see you tomorrow.

This is a good pick but so far the game is close, so we can't tell if this will win.

They didn't win. I didn't really trust this bet anyway, I just wanted to take a little risk.
We win tonight.

That's okay, we all have our bad nights anyway. Honestly, I didn't expect that either that the underdog will defeat the Grizzlies and that's just show that the Warriors is truly hard to beat on their homecourt. Jordan Poole by the way was too good earlier.

Let's just bet again and try to win this time, good luck.

I'll do Brooklyn Nets @ 2.10 and Utah Jazz -4.5
822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 26, 2022, 05:37:01 PM
The Celtics and the Warriors are the favorites to win the championship this season.

The Celtics hold the top spot in the standings, and their current performance looks much better compared to the last regular season. So the Celtics can really be called the favorites of the championship, and it looks like they have a good chance to reach the finals again.
At the same time, I wouldn't call the Warriors the favorites this season. The Warriors are 11th in the Western Conference right now, and I guess they'll drop even lower in the standings as they've performed pretty mediocrely without Curry.
Curry will come back soon and they will play better, compared to the last season, they are complete now and does have a good big man which can help their weakness in the paint. Last season, the lakers used their great offensive skills to win, so I guess it still boils down to experienced and the coach of the team which the Warriors have the edge.
That's for sure, but Curry has to be healthy in the playoffs, otherwise, they will not really make it to the NBA Finals. Their struggle in the regular season is nothing as long as they will be in the playoffs as that's where they can most comfortable, so good luck to the other teams and they should try to play better not only in the regular season but in the playoffs as well.

Good contenders in the West now IMO are the following teams.

1-Nuggets
2-Dallas
3-LA Clippers

I guess we will find out about that soon in the upcoming playoffs, for now, the Warriors will have to stand their ground while Stephen Curry is still recovering from the injury he sustained. I'm already expecting that the Warriors will start dominating the league again once Curry is back on the line up, he will be much stronger because he rested for a while.

Anyway, I agree with your list. For me, that list is already good enough, so I will just add the Grizzlies and Pelicans.

Speaking of Casimero, the decision was turn over no contest to knockout by the KBM (Korea Boxing Member's Commission).

Source: https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/sports/othersports/855186/casimero-vs-akaho-result-overturned-to-knockout/story/

Not sure though how will this affect those who bet on Casimero winning by knockout, will casino's also turn over their decision and give the winnings to the bettors? I'm asking this because this is the first time that I see this happening for a a long time.
Thank you for the update bro.
I was expecting that to happen but I didn't know the association will be that fast to investigate and conclude the winner of that fight.
It was too obvious, we all know who won that game.
Now, this will give a push for Casimero for his next battle. Will it be Inoue? If he will stay and try to defend his title then there's a chance they will meet.
Or does Casimero need to fight one more boxer to rank up and reach him?

Maybe the Korean boxing commission was really ashamed on what they see on the Japanese fighter and that's why a swift investigation and reversal of the decision. And Akaho admitted that it he was not really hit behind his head so that admission is enough for them to overturn.

I doubt that Casimero will get Inoue, it seems though that Bob Arum is pushing for Naoya to get an immediate title shot against Fulton.

Although it might hurt those in line, but Top Rank is powerful promotion and could do that to the boxing organizations to request that fight immediately. And it's a good match as well, fans are going to be happy if this fight is going to be made once Inoue moves up.

And Akaho should pay for the embarrassment he gave towards the boxing community because he robbed Casimero's chance to win on that very same day and celebrate afterwards but Ryo Akaho is quite wise to retire first before he was given some penalties as he knew that his career was already over the moment he faked what happened in the ring.

As for Inoue, Bob Arum wasn't the one who is pushing Inoue to fight against Fulton. Truth is, it's the other way around because Arum wanted a much safer journey where his cow, Inoue, can test the waters first before facing Stephen Fulton. It's the WBO who made a huge move and gave Inoue a bantamweight super-champion title where he will have the option to go directly to the champion and waste no more time going through the ranks.
824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco on: December 25, 2022, 06:41:04 PM

ctto

Date: TBD
Venue: TBD

Quote
“His next fight will be with Lomachenko. We are working out the date and the site right now. But that’s his next fight. Devin win or lose is going to be a big, big factor in the sport of boxing. A terrific young man. A very very good fighter. I like the way he carries himself. I like the way he fights. And with lomachenko he’s in with the master. So that will be a very interesting fight.”- Top Rank CEO Bob Arum

If we were to believe this words of Bob Arum, this fight will be the biggest fight in the lower division next and i personally believed that this would happen as Haney needed this fight with Loma to get the respect of the hard core fans but also a risky one for him as he has everything to lose to the master technician Lomachenco.

Who do you think has the advantage on this matchup?

Oh, I see. I personally have also thought that Devin Haney will face Shakur Stevenson instead of Lomachenko while the undisputed champion is not yet due for a mandatory fight. I've read a couple of article that is also saying the very same thing and that Haney wanted a much more interesting fight, a boxer that still in his prime years to be exact, that's why Shakur Stevenson's name has surfaced.

Who do you think has the advantage on this matchup?

Considering both Haney and Loma's recent fight, I think it's Haney who will have the upper hand once this bout will be announced with its final details. The latter is still good no doubt, both of them are impressive when it comes to technicalities but Loma is somehow showing some signs that will get him into troubles in this fight, although, at the back of my mind is saying that maybe Loma is still adjusting. I guess, we will know it soon in this bout.
825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 25, 2022, 06:18:55 PM
5 games later guys.
1st on my list is this.
Dallas Mavericks vs Los Angeles Lakers - Mavs -7.5
2nd.
Boston Celtics vs Milwaukee Bucks - Celtics -5.5

Good luck and Merry Christmas.

Let me ride with you on your Dallas Mavericks -7.5 bet @danherbias07. I'm confident that they will cover the said spread and defeat the visiting team which is the Lakers. Almost no doubt about that especially that Anthony Davis is not around to help the team some lifting.

And by the way, that 2nd bet is interesting because that might give us some reels on what might happen on the upcoming playoffs. It's worth noting that stated teams are the ones who are leading right now in the Easter Conference. Although, I have some idea that the Celtics might own the game. Good luck mate!
826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If your friend would tell you this... on: December 25, 2022, 05:56:47 PM
Casino you say? Then I'll prefer to spend those coins in sports-betting platform where I somehow have any advantage rather than playing a luck-based game. I know that online or offline casinos can double or triple those said coins quickly, but what if it's the opposite? Because as I said, it's just a two-way bet without any data needed and the faster the game, the faster those coins will move, so I'll just take my time to bet on sports.
827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 25, 2022, 05:34:40 PM
We might see again a close competition in the play-in tournament in the Western Conference.

At least from the 6th spot to the 10th spot, the gap is not that much. Pointing to the Lakers, they need to do everything to improve their position before the half of the season as they might end up competing on the play-in spot instead and not on the playoffs spot.

Tough year for the Lakers that when they are now starting to get along, another injury happened to their main scorer that showed dominance before being injured. We can't expect Lebron to carry a team now as his role is now being a role player.

Yes, it will be a tough year again for the Los Angeles Lakers but I cannot really say that I'm surprised about this because I know that with Davis aggressiveness, his time will come again that he will get injured. Worse is if he will be sidelined for several weeks just like now where he is expected to be out for a month. I don't know but I do think that it will be too much to ask to get Davis healthy for the whole season where we can see the Lakers advancing in full power.
828  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What to do when trading gives you heart problem. on: December 23, 2022, 08:43:10 PM
We know that the market is dynamic,as in it changes constantly, and as such,an investor who isn't careful enough to know when he is investing will fall in to heart problems or emotional trauma as a result of a massive fall in value, that is why it is important to condition your mind in a way that you won't get heart failure when you are at the loosing end.
Every investor knows there is risk in the game, and taking the risk is what shows you are ready to eradicate poverty from your life.
Manage oneself. If you think you can adjust to trading and control your emotions when trading, that will lessen the risk from experiencing heart problems. I know that may take a long process but the result will be all worth it. Otherwise, there will be no successful traders in the making if taking some risks are less important.
829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Brazil passes law to legalize crypto as a payment method on: December 23, 2022, 08:20:35 PM
They accepted it as a payment method but not as a currency and not legal tender. Brazil is different than El Salvador where Bitcoin is legal tender.

What is legal tender and what is difference between being a legal tender or not legal tender?
In El Salvador, you can not reject if a buyer want to pay in Bitcoin. In Brazil, you can reject the buyer because it is not legal tender.

Brazil is a big nation in Latin America and they belong to G20 too so this adoption is very good for cryptocurrency in general.

Brazil enacts Bitcoin payments bill
Brazil passes law to legalize crypto as a payment method. You use this one as source of your discussion but it is about 1 month old.
However, this is still considered another big achievement for bitcoin, adopting bitcoin as a legal currency and a payment method. At least we can expect that bitcoin will be known already in Brazil and maybe years from now, having it as a legal tender might also be possible if the government will allow it. But as long as bitcoin is now already legally adopted and accepted, I think that’s something that the bitcoin community should be thankful for.
830  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your biggest obstacle to achieving financial freedom ? on: December 23, 2022, 07:47:55 PM
The biggest obstacle is probably the time to be able to produce it doesn't seem to be optimal so we can't get more income to be able to achieve the financial freedom we want. But I still believe that someday, I will be able to achieve the financial freedom I want and I still have to work hard from now on. There will be challenges to making more money, but we must keep going if we want to achieve it and remain confident that we can get what we want.
And until we don’t get enough time for that, financial freedom will never be achieved. Also, staying in comfort zone make us more lazy and even fearful to adopt new challenges in life. So if we will stick to it, then we will no longer see financial improvements and stability. Not unless we start taking some calculated  risks and face them, then we can expect positive outcome for that.
831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why every casino got bad habits? on: December 23, 2022, 07:17:19 PM
If you have a look at the scam accusation section, you will find that no casino has a good reputation there. Each and every casino which has their ANN thread here, has at least one complaint against them; sometimes confiscated funds, delayed withdrawal, not paying the winning, freezing account etc. Why this is the principal of all the casinos? Why they can't operate without having any issues? They always do this shit; who knows what has been done with people who don't know how to deal with such a casino. Can you show me a thread that never had any reputation issues on this forum?

Nothing wrong about having an accusation as long as the problem is being solved by the said casinos.

I don't know if there's a gambling site that doesn't face any issues. In any operations, expect that there will be some issues on the way.

But if those casinos were able to settle and clear the issues smoothly, then that's a important thing there.
Precisely. All casinos have certainly their own issues, some have just ignore about it while reputable casinos surely find quick solutions to the problems. And for me, that’s not a big deal as long as those complaints were settled and customers were satisfied about it. Also, in some instances, casinos face issues too because of some hard headed customers. I guess that’s really inevitable especially in a business where it has to face a crowd of customers.
832  Other / Off-topic / Re: Has your budget for gambling been affected by the festive season? on: December 23, 2022, 06:05:20 PM
As always, regardless of any season or what, if there's an upcoming purpose that I really need to spend money on, I will prioritize that.

Gambling is just there and if I feel like doing it, I will just play without bothering about anything.

I don't want to associate my gambling activity with too much complicated things. As I said, if I feel doing gambling, I will do it. If not, then not.
Holidays are always a good time to spend, not necessarily though but it’s always a good feeling to spend but still not to exceed to my limits. And with gambling, I just gamble whenever I have budget for that and if not, then just stay at home with my family. I still have to prioritize other things than gambling, and I think since I am just an occasional gambler, my gambling budget is never that affected and it’s not a big deal to me if ever.
833  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which kind of situation will force you to sell? on: December 22, 2022, 10:28:27 PM
If Bitcoin goes up 1000% from today's value, I'll feel compelled to sell a small part Wink

Healthcare is mostly covered here by mandatory insurance.
If that will happen, then no need to think twice, i will sell immediately some of my bitcoin.  As long as the price is very much tempting, i will have to bite for it, than to never sell at all when suddenly bitcoin price drops even more at its bottom and all we gained are regrets. However, when it comes to healthcare, if the insurance is not enough to cater to all expenses, then i think selling a small portion is not that bad at all.
834  Other / Off-topic / Re: Be The Judge... on: December 22, 2022, 08:20:48 PM
Hard to be the judge here, hehehe, but I will have to get all the facts straight first and see who is the guilty one, and how the bettor end up losing all his initial winnings and then owe the bestshop for at least $5?, that's crazy gambling addiction. He could have wait then or just used his own money first since he will be collecting his winnings then.

And what's scary is the thugs of both sides, Lol, it was really gang land fight fights and yeah, lots are doing to be damage around the area and another question is who is going to shoulder the expense of fixing the place, the betshop, the owner or the gambler.
I guess both parties should be obliged fixing everything in place, and not just the gambler alone or the lottery shop owner or attendant. And I think the unclear scenario has even made it worst, that makes it totally hard for us to judge who is at fault and who is not. But maybe after a long process of investigation, the police will still end up with the truth and whatever the result is, he should be given lessons to learn and of course carry all the repair expenses if ever.
835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino bonus is it worth it? on: December 21, 2022, 09:15:39 PM
Off course.

Especially for the bonus who have less rules and don't to be designed impossible, like some bonus with 50x waggering. I hate bonus like that, because is design to be lost 99% and you just wasting the time.

So, any bonus you can get free & less rules it's really better.
As much as possible, it’s best to find bonuses without any requirement like having to meet the wagering amount. Otherwise, only high rollers have the chances to play for that while leaving no chance for small wagers. Although I understand that bonuses are made for the casinos advantage, but if it’s given for free, I guess all wagerers may have benefited from it since most of these bonuses are only small amount of profits knowing they all comes free.
836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cock fight game on: December 19, 2022, 08:56:26 PM
As you said, these kind of traditions where animals are involved in such games are not that easy to eliminate because it's already part of that specific county's tradition, I know for a fact that these people who indulge in such games do know that chickens are living things but despite of that fact, they still chose to raise some of these chickens to prepare them for a fight when they grow older.

Not all chickens are designed for farming or poultry raising. Those fighting chickens do have a breed and can't be compared to the capability of those in the poultry. In other words, these fighting chickens are useless when raised as poultry for food or egg production purposes, and as a result, they are used in cockfighting.

People should just accept that these games will continue to exist especially in those countries that allow the operation of this.

As long as the operations are running legally, that's fine. Hunt down those running illegally as they are not contributing to the revenue of the country.

Yet, it's all the same because after all, it is still a chicken no matter what breed it is or what's their design and eventually, the people are still the ones who will decide what's their fate because if we go in rural areas, breeds don't matter as chickens are chickens as long as they will lay some eggs and reproduce.

Anyway, back to the topic, I know we all have our own beliefs and views about these things. We should also know and shouldn't forget that we all have our own differences, these kinds of traditions will not cease even if we like it or not because as long as the government will allow it, operations will still continue.
837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 19, 2022, 06:19:36 PM
I actually think they will be fine without steph.  Think they will gel as a team and Poole will step up.  Gonna take the Poole over in points props most games.  He is going to get a ton of shots and defenses will focus on klay.

The Golden State Warriors should try to fill Steph Curry's 30 PPG and take note that it's always a consistent performance for him.

It's also worth noting that even though Curry does some monster stats per game, the Warriors sometimes still lose.

Let's see the adjustment of their players, especially those who enjoy and signed a big contract with the team during the off-season. Smiley
I agree immensely. Golden State had huge contracts for the young players that were not part of the 2015 2017 era, for example. I understood it as a post-Curry rebuilding. For example Poole is kinda play like Splash Brothers. If I were a GM, I wouldn't sign him with an enormous contract like that when I had Curry and Klay Thompson. So, when Curry is out with injury, those players who had a huge contract when GSW are already a over-paying team, should step up and make GSW not miss Curry as much as they can. I or anyone can't expect they would fill the shoes of a superstar like Curry but a pretty decent performance is expected from them.

We cannot really blame the Warriors GM and owner for giving the likes of Poole a huge contract especially after the exemplary performance they showed that also helped the team achieve the champion status and finished the series in the opposing team's homecourt. It's just like a token of appreciation but with a responsibility that they are expected to show the very same performance or a much-improved performance in the following seasons while they are still under the Warriors contract. Although, from what we're seeing right now, it shows that Jordan Poole haven't met those expectations.
838  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your first attempt to play gambling on: December 19, 2022, 05:54:13 PM
We all have a different experience how we started our first bet. Their are people who started bet without having any knowledge concerning it. Their are some people started with a help from a friend to bet and their are some who took their time to learn before they started paying bet.

How was your first start? Did you play blindly or spent some time to learn.?
My first experience of gambling was very bad. I lost all the money that was with me that day. Though it was fun. I played about three different games. And I lost all. When I came out from the casino hall my friends laughed at me. Really I was not happy that day. By then online betting was not found in my locality and also was not popular even at the city side of my State. Everything was done and played offline. And the Money was meant to buy clothes in the market but I lost all.

Then why have you decided to gamble those funds if it was already allocated to buy some clothes, did you got some sense that maybe you would doube or even triple your money afterwards? Grin
Anyway, what happened was already done but the important thing is that you learned from your mistakes especially about the funds, it's best to know that gambling is an expensive form of entertainment and that is why only gamble some spare funds and funds that you can afford to lose. There's no need to frown because I bet you did enjoy that experience.
839  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cock fight game on: December 18, 2022, 07:55:09 PM
Despite of having plenty of games for gamblers to play and bet on, there are still people who used to and preferred this kind of gambling especially for older men or those living in rural areas. This is usual when there's a fiesta or event for people to gather and have an enjoyment. It became a traditional gambling that people can't get rid of even it's an animal cruelty. For new generation, this is not the kind of gambling that we like to bet on since physical and online casinos are already existing to give entertainment even at the comfort of our home.
I think this kind of game or gambling is popular in Asian countries. I really don't encourage this kind of match as it would risk the life of the roosters but for some people they get used to it that's why I would like to visit Asian country just to watch live cock fight match.
The cockfighting game is popular in Asian countries, and many people still watch it. This is because cockfighting is a traditional game that is hard to eliminate because of the fun factor of each person who watches it. But today's younger generation prefers online casinos to play gambling even though some watch the games. But I hope that people who bet on cockfighting understand that chickens are living things that shouldn't be used as bets. Many other traditional gambling games still don't require animals to bet.

I know it's harsh but sadly, that's the truth and even the government doesn't want to involve themselves because it will affect their image when they needed some votes for the upcoming election.
840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: December 18, 2022, 07:27:55 PM

We can hype and do our job but if they are not interested nothing will happen. Spence and Crawford claimed that they are the best fighter in the world in their division but are afraid to fight each other, maybe they are just trying to make the bad negotiation and excuse on why the fight did not push through. How long do we have to wait? I hope Spence will lose so no more Spence vs Crawford hype.

Record is more important to them than proving and clearing the doubt of anyone who is in doubt of their real boxing skills, obviously, one of them is afraid and cannot risk his record against a potential and formidable opponent that has the same chance of winning against them. If this was the 90s, then we have already seen this fight years ago and they could have been in their trilogy if they had a great fight against each other but these days boxers that are having clean records are afraid to lose and risk it against a fighter of their level.

Well if that is their mindset, then we can't blame them. But for those who have been following boxing for so long even in the 90's, this is clearly not acceptable in that era. We have seen in the welterweight till middle weight great fighters like Sugar Ray Leonard, Duran, Hagler and Thomas Hearns beating each other.

And then Manny facing his nemesis in Marquez, Barrera and Erik Morales.

So having 0 losses is not a measuring stick for greatness. Even the greatest of all time, Muhammad Ali has losses as well in his record.

Exactly, their job is to please the crowd but with their selfish interest, that would not happen. Pacman is an example of a great boxer, he does not become an 8 time world champion for nothing, when he was still young, he beats boxers at their prime, now that he already got old, he even have one big win against a champion before he lose and declare his retirement.

I agree, it's more of a selfish ask on the part of Spence to say that they don't need Crawford to become great.

Manny is different bread of boxers, that's why he is a legend to us because he chooses to fight the best of his era, win or lose he take that risk doesn't care about his record. As long as he can pleased his fans he will do it without any hesitation. As compare to the newest breed of boxers who just care for themselves and then later says that they are the best, Lol, that's why it's no good to compare era's in boxing and boxers themselves.

What greatness is he talking about? He cannot be proud to himself and boast what he had done because he chose to avoid some specific fights to maintain his status. Errol Spence can say whatever he wanted to say but people know what's the truth because it is undeniable that he is afraid to face Crawford, and I reckon that even Charlo felt the same.
Frankly, this new generation of boxers are really different to what we had before because they have so many excuses, exactly the reason why Manny Pacquiao is viewed as one of the legendary boxer because he didn't avoided someone while Mayweather despite having the undefeated record doesn't have what Pacquiao had.  And there's this boxing politics that also gives some struggles to boxers who wanted to cement their legacy.
