81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Re-Launch 03MAR14 23:00 EST on: March 04, 2014, 05:10:34 AM
Dev on IRC says relaunch in 1hr, fixing rewards.

DONT BUY THESE COINS.

Advise the dev to check my sig. I live in his neighborhood. He will absolutely have a warrant on his doorstep within days if he doesn't immediately take action. He can relaunch later, BUT, he has to refund the IPOs who want a refund.

Maybe he should offer you a refund and those who have IPO's that want to stay can stay and benefit from the cheaper coins. That would work for me as an IPO
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Re-Launch 03MAR14 23:00 EST on: March 04, 2014, 05:06:16 AM
There is no "smooth launch" when someone mined 400,000,000 fucking million coins in one block.

Because he forked it himself and soloed the one block - total bullshit
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Re-Launch 03MAR14 23:00 EST on: March 04, 2014, 04:25:48 AM
while all my blocks have orphaned they are over 900k GPUCoin per block.

It's fucked guys. Stop mining. Agggaaaaiiiinnn.

waltmsith

This is stupid. ALL of my 20 some blocks got orphaned. Was I mining a fork?

Did you delete the prior QT Folders?

If it is your preference to capitulate now then sell your bonds and move on.

As of this writing I note that neither you nor Sparky have bonds posted for sale - perhaps this is proof that you prefer to rant rather than walk. Rant away..... I shall respond no more.

Ranting is the opposite of capitulation. Ranting has a small chance of increasing the value of our bonds in the long run, while walking away now means accepting a loss.
Walking away only makes sense if you're sure that the bond value will decrease in the future, no matter what we do and how hard we try to improve LRM's management. If that's what you believe, there really is no point in ranting.

Hence, ranting actually implies you have faith in LRM's future and want to improve its chances.

While I disagree with Sparky's tone (and I have great faith in LabRat all around), raising legitimate concerns should not be discouraged.

Absolutely Agreed! You will note from my post history that I have raised the issue of lack of communication for some time. What prompted my response to Sparky was the statement as fact that Zach gives zero fucks now. We all need to keep on the topic of how the almost complete absence of direct communications with the bondholders is unacceptable. Communication is a process - not an event.
85  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: March 03, 2014, 10:12:26 PM
A statement that Zach doesnt care anymore is FUD..... no more FUD please - for your own sake more than mine based on your holdings.

that statement is as much FUD as the statement "LRM is sustainable" is FUD. There really is no data either way. The burden of proof is on LR, and proving the project is sustainable is what investors/customers are paying him to do. He's not just getting paid to install mining hardware. He's a CEO, but he acts more like someone that really likes mining hardware and not financial statements, projections, corporate accountability, and accounting.

Nothing about the coinseed deal nor the secret ASIC project has been presented at all that shows if it is a good or bad deal for LRM. We know it's a great deal for LR (he got a job and he gets paid on hashrate regardless of whether the company fails), but no one knows if it's a good deal for LRM.

Not sure why you are suggesting that I have said LRM is sustainable by asking for less FUD. Perhaps somehow requesting no more FUD is FUD in your perception..... I'll leave you to the results of your own perspective.

Sparky stated something to the effect that Zach "does not give a fuck anymore". I have no proof that he does or does not other than the continued dividends. I will await evidence prior to capitulating to despair. If it is your preference to capitulate now then sell your bonds and move on.

As of this writing I note that neither you nor Sparky have bonds posted for sale - perhaps this is proof that you prefer to rant rather than walk. Rant away..... I shall respond no more.

Hey Sparky - there's not much point in freaking out here.  I have a similarly large amount invested as well, and I can understand how you feel about the lack of communication, but getting mad will not speed things up.  LR did say that this is the month when a good chunk of our new gear arrives, so let's get ready for some giant increases in hashing power and keep our cool for a little bit longer Smiley

Whenever there's good news Lab_Rat all over this place, so I take it (thankfully, now that I know he's okay) that for the moment there's nothing to really speak of.

How's this suggestion: instead of barraging LR with questions, why don't we attempt to arrange a weekly update?  I think an update, even one that contains nothing new, would go a long way.  I'm looking forward to some pics of our gear in their new setting! Smiley

Exactly whenever there is good news he is all over this thread, so when he makes a huge announcement and then for over a month logs into bitcointalk regularly and doesn't say anything doesn't answer any questions and stops even posting details of the dividends - what is the logical conclusion?

Surely it is that things are not going well? I really don't think I'm being illogical here at all.

Thanks for stepping up and verifying..... I respect that you are upset. Its your assertion Zach doesn't give a shit anymore that I have a problem with. I am very confident that is not the case and this confidence is not solely due to my natural tendency to pollyannish blind optimistic Canadian nicety. Bargraphics, grnbrg and others are directly involved and this supports my confidence and patience. What I, like you, do not have patience for is an utter lack of communication of any kind. In the absence of information it is normal to assume..... I chose to assume glass half full so far.

A statement that Zach doesnt care anymore is FUD..... no more FUD please - for your own sake more than mine based on your holdings.
87  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: March 03, 2014, 07:09:03 PM
Lab Rat is doing fine.

There should be some gear rolling in this week (Most likely) and I expect Lab Rat (Zach) will come on and give a full breakdown once that starts happening.

I'm sure you said the exact same thing after the coinseed deal was announced too and everyone had questions. Zach never answered those Q's, never gave a break down of the deal. Can you guys not see how ridiculous this is? People are now concerned with zach's health because they can't think of any other reason for his lack if response. Well the reason is he doesn't give a fuck about LRM any more. May as well just write off my 100 bitcoin investment I guess. Just another joke bitcoin company

OK "Sparky" since you brought it up - post a signed message in this forum from the account that holds your bonds or STFU. You may notice that your tone is not mirrored here and is not appreciated. Keep it civil.
88  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: March 03, 2014, 05:00:42 AM
Don't worry guys our 2gh/s should be here by end of next week...

"205-215TH beginning of March (some of this could get sent a little early  Grin) (2.615-2.743 GH/s per bond)"

as par the course BFL didn't deliver but Bitfury might come through still.

I guess lab Rat would rather wait till he has something to show than get bogged down with forum conjecture.

Perhaps he is too busy setting up all the gear? One can only hope. Posting a tweet or two would be sufficient to placate the underwhelmed amongst us. I know that's grnbrg's "job". But, seriously, what is up with that? Marc Andreesen is busy. Look at his twitter feed. A Rat that Tweets would go a long ways. We don't need a blow by blow, just the odd - "Still alive, plan is unfolding, timing is ....?"
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Launch 02MAR14 | IPO Available on: March 03, 2014, 12:12:46 AM
Suggestions:

1. DON'T RUSH THE RE_LAUNCH!  Take 1 week and get things straight first!
2. Refund all IPO investors and start over with the IPO.  That will instill confidence.
3. Go with Scrypt instead of N-Scrypt. Yeah yeah we know we are all idiots for not being able to get scypt-n working.  Whatever.  I have it working no prob in Windows, but in linux/BAMT it is completely different story.  We understand the 1/2 hash rates.  That's not the complaint.  Things just go a lot smoother with Scrypt.  Not to mention the horror stories people have with destroying their GPUs using N-Scrypt.  Also, who give a shit about Scyrpt ASICs?  They aren't here yet.  Why are we defending against something that doesn't even exist?  Give me a break.

Oh yeah, and the complaints about people renting rigs?  Go complain elsewhere.  You have a rig rented?  Great.  Go mine something else then.  What's the problem?

+many many -

You guys need to step back and reassess the approach to ensure the best business outcome. I am an IPO holder and am fine to wait a few more days to get it right
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Launch 02MAR14 | IPO Available on: March 02, 2014, 06:25:51 PM
So with ScryptN dropping your average hashrate by 50%, how will that affect coin output? Will it affect how the coin works, since he based his original numbers on scrypt? some of the early adopters are starting to ask this.

As I warned the dev, some people are just now starting to re-read the thread and finding out, last minute, that the algo has changed.

No going back now..... due to the fact that scrypt-n requires a RAM upgrade on all my rigs I will not be mining. Good thing I got in on the IPO
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Launch 02MAR14 | IPO Available on: March 02, 2014, 09:28:09 AM
I don't recommend an exchange at launch. Perhaps wait a few days, let people actually interested mine. An exchange at launch just makes more people want to dump immediately. Did no one see zeitcoin?

I agree - better to get onto one of the more "recognizable" or established altcoin exchanges such as bter, cryptsy or mcxnow from the get go rather than just anyone who will take you. Still, it should not be left more than a day or two as there is a marketing component to being on an exchange. The coin is not intended to be solely traded for GPU's and will need to find some form of wider market for price discovery.

The dev's will also need to have a channel for GPC to BTC to fiat in order to be able to establish their exchange rates for online sales of GPU's using their coin.

This is going to be very interesting to watch

Please put a link to your Bitcointalk OP on your website with twitter feed and FB links as well.

Perhaps you would like to consider adding a big headline to the website with a countdown timer for the launch of the coin
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Launch 02MAR14 | IPO Available on: March 02, 2014, 09:03:35 AM
so ipo investors have receive their bounty?

When the coin launches and you send them your wallet address - tomorrow - read OP and website

Now, for an exchange or two......

If the premine is scrypt and the launch is scrypt-n will this create an issue for the premined coins?

I don't believe so, a chain is a chain; could be wrong. Great question.

And for everyone who voted for N, considering ScryptN will cut most hashpower in half, better hope it was worth it lol.

Cutting hashpower in half may only be an issue for the network in terms of processing transactions but not likely from what I can gather. Whether it is SHA3, scrypt or scrypt-n, your share from mining will simply be a result of your % of the total network hashrate. Of course, these results vary in the short term by pool "luck". But long term it should be a constant rate.

I'm not sure if I made it in time for the ipo or not #221
If not will there be refunds?

I spent hours trying to setup scrypt-n and some of my rigs just wont work with it(the first gpu works but the rest just shut off).

Scrypt-n: good time to enter the market for a new coin, still young but lot of potential. It's a good decision by my experiences, even tho not everyone can get them working.

IPO # 212 here - really not sure about the scrypt-n implementation and am hopeful the launch has all necessary DL's for mining to start smoothly. From what I have observed a critical success factor for a coin is a good launch and marketing - lots of effective marketing. You seem to have garnered some goodwill for the IPO based on a novel approach and concept - including your effective communications and transparency with the LLC etc. Now, you will need to be very purposeful in regards to conserving that momentum by executing nearly flawlessly on the launch and by communicating and correcting effectively through any hiccups.

This business model could scale in some very interesting ways if you can secure sufficient volume to become a direct distributor and gain pricing leverage in the marketplace. The issue is that margins in tech are razor thin so you will need to keep your overhead super low. Areas for growth would be pre configured rigs, bespoke GPU mines, accessories such as USB risers but this should all come after you have nailed the first level of scope

International shipping at reasonable prices?

We do intend to ship internationally, we just have to find the most cost effective service.

USPS to Canada is good

SCAM COIN. DEVELOPER not replying. already 60 blocks premine by him himself, releasing not SOURCE code of linux wallet , that cant run. Obviously developer is trying to mine first before release actual source.

big deal 60 who gives a fuck?

All I see is big miners butthurt again, and again.  Little fucking cry-babies.  We should have failed launches everyday just to piss you big miners off.

so what, he got 60*151 = out of 100million extra........

MAY THE HELIX FOSSIL HAVE MERCY ON YOUR SOUL

OP clearly stated 0.16% premine  - that is 192,000 or 1271 blocks - so it did not happen..... but - I know math is hard for trolls
