4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Hashers United Conference, Las Vegas, Oct 10-11th on: September 10, 2014, 05:10:25 PM

The first global conference dedicated to cryptocurrency mining, called Hashers United (www.HashersUnited.com), is taking place 10-11th October 2014, at Tuscany Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The conference will bring together professionals, hobbyists and vendors from within mining and throughout the wider cryptocurrency sector.  Attendees can expect over 35 workshops and sessions, and more than 25 speakers, including Vitalik Buterin (founder Ethereum) and Charlie Lee (creator Litecoin), specially selected for their expertise and commitment to mining and cryptocurrencies.

Whether it is Bitcoin, Litecoin or any other altcoin, at the core of a cryptocurrency are the miners. Hashers United has been created to provide a face-to-face learning environment that offers not just the benefit of networking with peers, but practical tips and guidelines on enhanced methods of coin selection; improving efficiency; beating the onset of increasing costs and generating greater profits.

The conference will feature key figures from tax, legal and regulatory bodies from the United States to provide important updates. In addition, speakers will cover topics including protocol scrutiny, algorithm analysis for better strategic planning and operations; more effective rig building; live mining demonstrations; and workshops covering profitability, investment, cryptocurrency management and more.

The team behind Hashers United is mining contract company Final Hash LLC (www.FinalHash.com) who has rig facilities based in Houston, Texas. Commenting on the launch, Executive Technical Director, Marshall Long, said: “We’re in contact with miners every day and their needs just aren’t being met via current conferences or even online.  It’s time for a ‘real world’ forum where everyone, no matter their experience, can have an open and frank discussion about the key issues they are facing and how as a community we can help each other to overcome them.”

Early Bird tickets at $199 for miners (instead of $349) and $499 for vendors (instead of $599) are now available to purchase at the conference website www.HashersUnited.com. For a limited period, Early Bird tickets have a 5% discount and can only be purchased by cryptocurrency (over 20 to choose from including Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Peercoin, Darkcoin and more). Fiat currency bookings will open at the beginning of July

5  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis-Mining Review on: September 10, 2014, 03:37:19 PM
No chance of me making a ROI with these guys as things stand unfortunately.

I took my 1 year contract out on the 10th of June for 0.433 Btc for 2 Mhz (approximately $277.12).

So far, earnings in just under 3 months have come to $66. The rate of earnings is decreasing steadily however, with approximately only $11 earnt over the past 27 days!

I think if BTC price gets back above $720 dollars this should make a ROI, but if the price continues to stay low there is zero chance of making a ROI.

If however you do feel like experimenting with the service then please click my affiliate link, as if your confident on an increase in Btc price this should make you some profit.
I was thinking about starting with them. Now I think it would be better to wait and let's see what is going to happen with BTC. Thanks a lot for your helpful information.

I also use Genesis Mining, not very happy with the result, it is highly unlikely I will be reaching ROI.
There are far better cloud mining services out there, I use a couple of these and I can compare results easily.

So I just spoke with Marco about things last night. (Marco is the CEO of genesis). He is launching LifeTime Contracts today and upgrading all other previous folks to the same. Now, from what he told me, a lifetime contract is one that you get for as long as there is profit on the machine. So meaning a good long while seeing as how they have dirt cheap power. So this kind of changes things for you I would presume, no?

If thats the case then ROI should increase a fair bit imo. since an income would likely be coming in from mining longer

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DGC] The DigitalCoin Foundation to take on future DigitalCoin Development on: September 09, 2014, 07:50:35 AM
TBQH i cant comment on baritus's motives as i have no idea myself. The main thing is things are being handed over to the foundation so now we can make some real changes to DGC in v3

I can confirm that what was posted above is true

As part of the foundation, and due to baritus leaving i will be helping out with the development of DGC, ARG and SRC. the foundation will post a statement here in due course

there's a reason for that Cheesy. You're building the master. Not the IXC branch haha

12  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis-Mining Review on: September 07, 2014, 11:19:23 PM
hmm in that case genesis's supposed lifetime contracts might be similar right?
13  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis-Mining Review on: September 07, 2014, 08:09:40 PM
I'm not saying that its good for money. I'm just saying that i'd prefer one which actually hashed theres no guarantee that hashlet's will completely ROI is there?
14  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis-Mining Review on: September 07, 2014, 07:46:38 PM
Also true in a way. I prefer to stick with a company that can actually show that theyre hashing though.
15  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis-Mining Review on: September 07, 2014, 06:58:28 PM
right but then its not truly cloud hashing then imo
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | cPoW | PC mining | Stability | Hashcows - QRK Payouts on: September 07, 2014, 02:24:34 PM
No one has asked me to doanything to do with merged-mining or anything to do with quark. They are all my own ideas. Quark wont be merged-mined with myriad since myriad doesnt contain the quark algo. it will be merge mined with a myriad based side chain. I dont believe Max created myriadcoin. And Kolin has nothing to do with myriadcoin and its dev team. Myriadcoin's price has not "suddenly fallen out of the sky" it's been falling for months due to too high inflation

ahmed_ hi , all these guys are trolls , they are the same guys that were hired to troll Emuni and they are the same guys that have failed at that.

Quark continues to be top 10 Market cap an that scared the shit out of them, but they are very stupid little monkeys, (so that's good)

they think if they troll here they are going to in some way effect Quark's "Network effect".

they are trying to "gain popularity to fork Quark" lol.

now re the Merge i see no rush, but i'd like a link to some more info, also where can i just find a clear link to all of Myriads tech details.

I do own some Myriad , i like the innovation, however Quark has a few key things that Myriad does not have, but we can discuss that.

I think a closer relationship between Quark and Myriad woudl be great, however i'm of the understanding that Myriad has no EQ reward no "trickle inflation"  yes?

this is a large long term flaw.

please ignore the team of winged monkeys.

It'd be easier if you came on freenode IRC. Myriad has no trickle inflation at the moment no. Myriad is designed to be a currency not an investment. For that you dont want to spend 0.000001 MYR on a pack of bread, it's much better to be able to spend 1 MYR on 1 packet of bread. (Hopefully u understand what i mean). A truly adoptable currency doesnt need anonymity, it needs usability. This is all things we're aiming for. a truly usable crypto currency

Qubitcoin == Q2C and its far from dead

How many people here would like quark merge mined with other quark-algo based coins?
I'd be willing to do all the work free of charge and a possible inclusion onto myriadcoins PolyMYR
