How many good coins have come out of Russia?? How many scam coins have come from Russians?? That should raise some eyebrows..

Vitalik Buterin is Russian), but you are partly right, problem is that many of slavic people still have soviet mentality. If they have opportunity to get quick buck, even fraudulently,  it will be stupid decision for them not to take advantage of an opportunity. Their parents and relatives used to stole nuts and bolts from the USSR factories where they worked all their lives, they are good people in general, but better to know their names and faces, and only then trust them your money.

Is it a joke or they really hired Denzel Washington to promote their cards? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyykgPVml_w

Centra wallet was updated to 2.0.1 version but i cannot register without obtainin acess code from support@centra.tech.

There almost 1000 App downloads from Google Play, so if someone here already tried updated functionality, app really works or had been issued only for marketing purposes?

4. 500 Million Tokens — BURNED  ✅
We made the decision to burn 50% of all tokens today, prior to the end of our ICO, permanently reducing the total maximum supply by half. We now have a very limited number of tokens available for sale.

5. Public ICO — EXTENDED  ✅
Since all these structural changes will result in an improved value proposition, we would like to give everyone a fair chance to participate in our ICO. As a result, we have extended our ICO to end on 20 November 2017 at 2 PM UTC.

Can you provide some links to convince community that all tokens were really burned at some ethereum adress? If you don`t sell remaining 82 000 000 tokens during 10 days, you will also going to burn them, or spread them equally between all ICO participants?

No comments. Портфель Криссы стоит не за столиком, а прямо под стеной, видно - поставила наспех где пришлось, чтобы фото сделать. В углу - вообще бардак, как и ихний подход к работе.

Price is up but all alt coins are doing well today.
Patience my friend, it seems like segwit will push through so what we have to do now is wait until it's over.
Eventually we will be back to the normal price we are wanting, it's a healthy market and there will be some green times for altcoins.
Segwit2x got cancelled, now altcoin price start to climbing. Maybe during some days forward bitcoin price will correction because people taking profit for buy altcoin or invest in ico project

Yes, segwit got cancelled, but not all altcoins from the list will start to recover. There is no doubt all smart investors already have made their own analysis, nobody will buy asset without potential for real growth. And current Ptoy price stagnation only approves this. No real pump impulse after the Segwit, that was a bad sign.

I`m looking information about your presale date and time, is it have to register on your site to find out this information? It`s so necessary to do a closed presale with witelist, what benefits Etheal could get from step? I really like medical projects, but maximum clarity is necessity nowadays, e.g. many people started to forget about Patientory, they have troubles with licensing.

It seems Utrust will have really bright future. They sold almost half of their token fund, rised 20 mln USD, more than enough money to guarantee quality production process and marketing for the next few years. Hope there will be no legalization issues and UTrust will become real competitor for PayPie.

Does anyone know when exactly crowdsale ended (in UTC)?

Centra price volatility looks crazy: one step forward, two step back. Those whales, who plays this game ultimately will scare investors away.

The clause of 75% deduction has been lifted. No such clauses would be introduced mid-campaign. Participants need not worry.

This is what a man does, thank you, i see you fix 15 000 into 60 000 again in spreadsheet. No we can focus on promotion.

abhishekb please clarify your position about Ann localboards, they will be counted as well as in English?
513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY][ICO] eSports.com (ERT) The Home of eSports on: November 08, 2017, 12:27:35 PM
Wow, what is going on, i entered into this campaign expecting rather high bonus, 60 000 coins for signature, not much participants in spreadsheet, and now you are talking that our reward will be cut on 75%. It`s pretty sad story news. I already spend some time to analyze the best ico for signature participation. But, we are free to leave right now, as for me, i will stay, because i like sport, so i have a question, local Ann boards will be counted in weekly stakes?

PS. If your use a percentage model in case of quantity signature bounty participants, better to correct it in all fairness. After reaching 50 or 75 people in signature, reward should be increased by 50% and 75%. Because now it`s 800 USD as you calculated, and by the end of bounty, when it will be 90 people in sig. campaign, reward may be very low.

Hope they will recover those frozen funds, and nothing even Segwit2X won`t stop EDG growth. Maybe it`s time to think about purchasing Ladger Nano or another hardware wallet.

515  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-11-02] Markets Update: First of the Month Sees Bitcoin Skyrocket to $6900+ on: November 02, 2017, 06:49:52 AM
The price of bitcoin continues to drive higher as the decentralized currency’s value has reached a high once again this week, touching $6,915 per BTC on November 1.

Bitcoin Markets Rally Hard on November 1

According to the spot value across some of the world’s popular exchanges, bitcoin has reached an average of 6,915 on the first of the present month. Currently, the price is hovering just above 6,800 after some sell-off. The digital asset has been relentless all year long, seeing $500-1,000 increases with ease and sometimes in a day. At the moment bitcoin commands a $116B market capitalization with over $3B in trade volume over the past 24-hours. Besides bitcoin cash markets, which are up over 19 percent, nearly every other digital asset is dropping. The top five exchanges swapping the most bitcoin this evening include Bitfinex, Bithumb, Bitflyer, GDAX, and Hitbtc.

Right now Japan is leading the pack, with the yen commanding 60 percent of the BTC volume by currency. The rest of the currencies following the Japanese yen include the USD, KRW, EUR, and the GBP. Moreover, gone are the days when China captured the lion’s share of bitcoin trade volume. Chinese trade volume has seen the CNY plummet from the fifth position just a few weeks ago, to an all-time low of nineteen out of all the world’s bitcoin trades. However Chinese trade volume, using over-the-counter (OTC) networks like Localbitcoins, has increased substantially.

Bitcoin price reaches $6,915 across global exchanges.

517  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-10-25] Steve Wozniak, Bill Barhydt, and Bobby Lee Promote Bitcoin on: October 25, 2017, 01:33:41 AM
The US leg of the Money 20/20 event, held in Las Vegas over the weekend, had guests Bill Barhydt of Abra, Bobby Lee, and Steve Wozniak all speaking about Bitcoin.

The Money 20/20 event, which runs from the 22nd through the 25th of October in Las Vegas, describes itself as a place “where technology meets money, money meets people, people meet ideas, and ideas become reality.” The event, now in its 5th year, made cryptocurrency headlines in particular with news of Steve Wozniak’s comments about Bitcoin, calling it better than gold. There were other prominent advocates of Bitcoin present too, including Abra’s Bill Barhydt and BTCC’s Bobby Lee.

Abra Founder and CEO, Bill Barhydt

Bill Barhydt recently made the headlines on Bitcoinist when Hollywood star and wellness blogger Gwyneth Paltrow became an advisor for the company. His company, Abra, uses smartphones to enable people to make payments in the currency of their choice, including Bitcoin, which is then given to the receiver in the currency of their choice. In the video below, taken from the Money 20/20 youtube channel, Barhydt talks specifically about Bitcoin, monetary liberalization, decentralization, and the smartphone payment revolution.

Steve Wozniak Discusses Bitcoin

Steve Wozniak was at Money 20/20 specifically to talk about AI. However, it was his comments about Bitcoin which caught the cryptocurrency headlines.

It’s not the first time either that Wozniak has talked about Bitcoin, telling CNBC that he has been interested in the currency for a long time and hoping to buy it when it was $70. However, after issues in that only certain banks at the time allowed such transactions to be made, he ended up investing when it was worth $700. Either way, as he himself admits, he “is way up.”

Of his purchasing of Bitcoin, Wozniak said:

"It’s not that easy to do yet, but it’s getting there. I was just playing around trying out how to buy and sell stuff and I didn’t care I lost a ton of money, but now I’m way up."

518  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-09-26] Life After China’s Exchange Ban –an Interview with Binance CEO Zhao on: October 24, 2017, 07:27:03 PM
Changpeng Zhao (CZ), CEO of Binance and former CTO/Cofounder of Okcoin sat down with news.Bitcoin.com to talk about dealings with regulatory bodies in China, his advice for retail investors when choosing an exchange and the future of centralized and decentralized crypto exchanges.

Changpeng Zhao is known for developing Binance, a rapidly expanding, centralized crypto exchange based in Hong Kong that says it’s had upwards of 7 million site visits in its just three months of existence. CZ sheds light on what it’s like to be an exchange from China maneuvering around the recent exchange ban.

news.Bitcoin.com: Both Binance and Bitfinex are listed in Hong Kong, but Binance’s servers are in Korea. There seems to be parallels between Binance stopping Chinese IP’s from accessing your website and Bitfinex stopping their US retail investors from using their platform. Could you provide us insight into the relationships exchanges have?

"The government is not a single entity, there are a lot of people involved and there are a lot of different branches and different offices. It’s all very high level and very vague."

Changpeng Zhao: Bitfinex does things in their own way. I don’t know what their interactions are with the US government. We have had very little interaction with any government other than the Chinese government. Basically, the Chinese government issued a warning that exchanges needed to shut down, so we shut down our Chinese users. No government official approached Binance to block Chinese IP’s, but this was a move we thought would make sense. It is important to note that the Chinese government is not a single entity, there are a lot of people involved and there are a lot of different branches and different offices. Nobody knew what Binance was supposed to do. It’s all very high level and very vague.

In response to China’s decisions, we are moving our IP’s from Hong Kong to an offshore location. Now we have our IPs registered in BVI ( British Virgin Islands) and other locations. So we are registered in multiple locations and we have people in multiple locations. That way we will never be affected by one regulatory body.

news.Bitcoin.com: With government clamping down globally on exchanges, like the China exchange ban, U.S. shutting down BTC-e, what advice do you have for retail investors who are often on the short end of these regulations?

Changpeng Zhao: Communicative, interactive and open. Basically, retail investors have to watch for exchanges that communicate with them. If the guy [exchange] is talking to you all the time, the company is unlikely to be shut down. Even when we stopped servicing Chinese users, we let them withdraw all their funds and we also let them know of our actions ahead of time.

Exchanges with a company philosophy of secrecy and anonymity are likely to be shut down, as they are disliked by the governments. We deal with all the government regulatory issues fully and if we cannot comply with those issues, then we just will not do business in that country.

news.Bitcoin.com: Binance currently doesn’t allow Chinese IP’s to access their platform, will this change?

Changpeng Zhao: We are in the “wait and see” mode. We now see a lot of new exchanges opening outside of China that service users inside China. No one told us to shut down the exchange for Chinese users, but we just did it to show that we are cooperative [with the Chinese government].

news.Bitcoin.com: There are two general trends with crypto exchanges in the market today. The move towards decentralized exchanges and a race to the bottom in exchange fees (like Cobinhood with zero exchange fees) What are your thoughts on the matter?

Changpeng Zhao:  There is a definitely a lot of room for growth for decentralized exchanges, as well as for centralized exchanges. The two are not mutually exclusive. A lot of people confuse that, and think that decentralized exchanges will replace centralized exchanges. That might happen eventually, but it will take a long time for it to happen. In the next decade, we will see decentralized exchanges coexisting with centralized exchanges. The current decentralized exchanges have low volume and are tricky to use. You have to send to a smart contract and then you have to wait. It’s not high frequency trading.

I give the analogy of a train and a car. Just because there are trains which can go faster, doesn’t mean that there are no cars. They two serve different purposes. Eventually, we may live in a world that relies completely on trains or driverless cars. But we live in a time where centralized exchanges provides users with higher liquidity and an easier user interface.

We are watching the decentralized exchange space very closely. We will develop our own decentralized exchange for sure. We want to promote decentralized exchanges and advance the technology in that space. That way we can ride a bit off their innovation later on and push our own tech forward.

Decentralized exchanges have the advantage of anonymous trading and you don’t have to have coins in custody of the exchange, but centralized exchanges have much faster matching engines, much higher liquidity and promotions like coin giveaways that make them much easier to promote.

519  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-10-24] Bitcoin Businesses Refused Accounts as UK Banks Consolidate Power on: October 24, 2017, 12:23:29 PM
The UK boasts about its relative European dominance in the financial technology (fintech) sector, but its own banks are making life difficult for the country’s  bitcoin-related businesses and services.

UK Bitcoin Businesses Forced to Open Accounts in Bulgaria, Poland, and Possibly Toronto

Banking Editor Martin Arnold of the Financial Times noted a trend: “British banks are shunning companies that handle cryptocurrencies,” he writes, “prompting some to question the UK’s ambitions to be a global hub for the fast-growing fintech sector.”

Of those is Metro Bank, a “bank that puts you first,” it claims. It doesn’t seem inclined to put you first if you’re a bitcoin-related business, however.

It recently stopped doing business with Blockex, a cryptocurrency exchange. “Nobody will give us a bank account in the UK,” the company’s Head of Markets told the Financial Times. They’re now scouting locations as far away as Toronto, Canada.

The country’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is equally worried. Chartered to “protect customers, [enhance] market integrity, and [promote] competition”, the independent governance association put a rather fine point on the matter; “We are concerned that denying certain customers bank accounts on a wholesale basis causes significant barriers to entry and could lead to poor competition in certain markets.”

Banks such as Barclays and HSBC retain some cryptocurrency business, though reluctantly. Citing money laundering and general criminality, HSBC said it’s “monitoring the development of virtual and digital currencies such as bitcoin as well as regulations governing their use,” continuing it has a “very limited appetite to bank issuers or dealers in virtual currencies,” Financial Times quotes the bank.

Curiously, Paxful, a peer-to-peer bitcoin buying marketplace, upsells its HSBC account-holders’ ease of use as “the best place to buy bitcoin instantly with HSBC Cash Deposit,” albeit in Australia.

Drug Dealers and Terrorists

Both UK Finance and the EU’s Banking Authority have issued luke-warm to discouraging statements about doing business with bitcoin businesses.

“No regulatory regime is yet in place for virtual currencies. Firms’ own risk appetites will determine to what extent they engage with any firms engaged in virtual currencies,” stated the UK’s banking representative UK Finance.

The EU authority’s comment on bitcoin is rather dated, some three years ago, when they openly wished to “discourage credit institutions, payment institutions and e-money institutions from buying, holding or selling virtual currencies.”

Etoro’s Iqbal Gandham detailed how, “The moment you mention crypto to a bank, it’s like you are a drug dealer.” Etoro has “handled more than $1bn of cryptocurrency trades for clients since adding the asset class to its platform this year,” the Financial Times declared.

Quoting an anonymous bank head, Mr. Arnold writes, “‘When you look on the dark web, everything there is being paid for with cryptocurrencies.'”

“You don’t know who is transferring money in and out. If cryptocurrency goes to Iran and we’re involved then I get shut down,” the anonymous banker said.

520  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-10-24] Indonesian Bitcoin Payment Processors Shut Down, Exchanges Unaffect on: October 24, 2017, 07:51:14 AM
Reports indicate that Indonesian bitcoin payment platforms Toko Bitcoin and Bitbayer have ceased operations in response to recent announcements that the Bank of Indonesia will not recognize bitcoin as a means of payment. Although the position of Indonesia’s central bank renders the business model of cryptocurrency payment processors unviable, Indonesian bitcoin exchanges are continuing to operate freely.

Recent Statements Made by Bank of Indonesia Have Prompted Some Indonesian Business to Restructure Their Operations

Announcements that Indonesia’s central bank will not recognize bitcoin as a legitimate means of payment have resulted in the closure of bitcoin payment platforms operating in Indonesia. Since the announcements, Bitbayer, an Indonesian alternative to Bitpay, has announced that it will terminate its services on November 1st and encourages its customers to withdraw their funds before the end of the month. Toko Bitcoin, a company that once allowed its customers to purchase prepaid phone and electricity vouchers using bitcoin, has ceased accepting bitcoin as a means of payment.

Oscar Darmawan, CEO of bitcoin exchange PT Bitcoin Indonesia, has told media that the closures were not the result of direct intervention on the part of Indonesia’s central bank. Darmawan stated that “there have not been any direct requests from the Bank of Indonesia to Bitcoin Indonesia to close down these two websites.”

PT Bitcoin Indonesia Had Previously Partnered With Kinnerjapay Corp to Accept Bitcoin for Transactions Executed Through Its Platform

Darmawan also discussed PT Bitcoin Indonesia’s decision to cease providing payment services and continue operating its exchange platform. Darmawan addressed the “grey area that the [central bank’s] statement has created,” stating that [PT Bitcoin Indonesia] has decided to comply with the Indonesian regulator because our exchange… is our main concern.” Darmawan also stated that he regularly meetings with Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority in order to ensure regulatory compliance.

Last month, Bank of Indonesia’s Director of Payment System Policy Department, Eny V Panggabean, reaffirmed that the central bank will not recognize bitcoin as a currency. Speaking at a banking seminar, Paggabean stated that the use of bitcoin as a currency is forbidden by the nation’s Service Provider of Payment legislation. The central bank’s recent comments reiterate the position statement published by the Bank of Indonesia in February 2014, which states that “bitcoin and other virtual currency are not valid currency or payment instruments in Indonesia.”

According to Cryptocompare, bitcoin to Indonesian Rupiah trading comprises the tenth largest national bitcoin market according to 24-hour volume. Currently, Indonesian volume accounts for 0.18% of total trading volume.
