Have you considered the time it takes for these things to take off?
First people have to be exposed enough to finally decide to jump on the train. After that comes figuring out how to do it. Then you have to wait for the bank transfers to process etc.
I would say that we could start evaluating the effects of china at the start of next week or so, at the earliest.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 50,000 votes on Dropbox website and counting! bitcoin adoption imminent?

If I understand correctly they could accomplish this rather easily if they wanted, just have bitpay handle the btc transactions and hand dropbox the fiat $$$. Everyone is happy?
I don't see this as a real long-term solution. The better option would be to accept Bitcoins as they are. It's a good compromise, but nothing more. From a business perspective I see this as a low risk way to get to the native acceptance. Yes they could probably do their own e-commerce thing to accept it, but I would be willing to be the investment to do that is much much higher then adding another 'merchant account' to the existing solution. Then later on one can evaluate if it makes business sense to remove that merchant and go 'native'. I agree with you on this. What I am afraid of is that if Bitpay fails down the road they would take a lot of confidence of the bitcoin with them in the grave. We need more native acceptance in the long run, a single point of failure is never a good idea.

Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this concerning?

Oh come on not another one of these charts... No it's not concerning at all, we've been through this many times already. Either you believe in bitcoin or you don't, price fluctuations on the short term should not bother you much. Maybe we'll revisit $50 again, maybe we'll even bottom out at $30.. who cares in a year from now you'll be showing these exact same charts when we top at $5000 and you'll be worried about whether we go down below $1000 per bitcoin again.
My thoughts exactly.

You keep posting that image again and again. Why? It's a new one every time. And, it's an automated post. So, just ignore the user if you don't find them useful. There is no human behind the account to be offended.

I have also bullish outlook but a bit different: Wednesday will be the strongest day like last week. The low-volume calm period has been very long now and this usually means strong moves. I'm pretty sure they'll point upwards. Not quite as bullish as rpietila, though. 0.14 on monday is possible, maybe tuesday. 0.16 on wednesday possible. 0.20? probably not this week.
So I've been carefully going long(er) this weekend, buying the dips. As long as $0.12 isn't breached I consider lower price like now a buying opportunity.
why are you quoting prices in mBTC ? For the same reason we normally deal with gold in ounces or grams instead of kilos.
