Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Start Using mBTC as Standard Denomination?

I voted Yes, but I should have voted this option:
Switch to XBT. An XBT is 100 satoshi (or 1/1,000,000 BTC). This allows us to have $21,000,000,000,000 units of the base unit of currency, and an exchange rate much less threatening to newcomers.
I like the idea of allowing for more price growth in Bitcoin, and also complying with international standards for having only two decimal places of fractionality.
I like this. XBT should get more attention! Also, stop with your "funny-dates". YYYY-MM-DD is the ONLY correct way to type dates. STANDARDS!

I am afraid that Ripple will be presented as an integral part of the Bitcoin network, thus when their true intentions finally show it's going to reflect bad on Bitcoin.

Ripple NEEDS to fail! It's a cancer on the Bitcoin ecosystem.
It's centralized and closed source. It's nothing like bitcoin and any further association is bad for the Bitcoin.

Let's use standards. Please.
It is standard but not usual for currencies. I mean how many times have you heard about giga-dollars or peta-euros... Since we don't have a central authority to decide what to call smaller denominations, it's only logical to fall back on standard units.

If:
A) We see a worldwide, utopian government arise,
that:
B) Demands everyone to implant a chip (or the like) in our foreheads or in our right hands,
that:
C) Is required to trade or buy merchandise,
then we have a problem.
Until then, not so much.

I stand corrected. Appologies for making such a conclusive statement without checking my facts. I thought it was another silly American who didnt understand the prefixes. I actually should have known this even without looking it up. Btw: Does anyone know did SI chose this? Sorry to disappoint you. Silly Swede here, we know our standard units.

If Bitcoin would be as successful as Linux, then we are in for a ride. I don't think you understand how BIG Linux is, if you look at the big picture.

Economy / Speculation / Re: Automated posting

Let's focus on the real issue. People like posting walls, and chart buddy makes them redundant. Look at this page, most of the posts are from chartbuddy. It has a negative effect on the overall quality of the tread because it derails discussion and we end up focusing on dumb stuff. This is fine, but I think everything would be better if we went back to a human dominated wall observer.
Interesting point. Part of the reason I wrote ChartBuddy was the hope that having movement be visible on an ongoing basis would help spark conversation. That doesn't particularly seem, to have been the case though. Then again, we have seen a whole lot of stability recently (coincidence or conspiracy? ) The problem with ChartBuddy is the 3D-effect. It's simply to hard to read (not hard to understand, just hard to read). I find Bitcoinity to be the easiest to read when I want to see the walls.

Thanks alot! I hope you have a nice day. He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.
