1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Avado or Daapnode for staking 32 Eth on: November 22, 2023, 12:19:03 PM
I'm thinking to stake Ethereum and run a node, I'm trying to decide between the two
Unfortunately I didn't follow much about the Ethereum ecosystem development and my knowledge of what's going on, and how to stake is very low. But as I dont plan to sell the eth soon, I defiantly feel like I should run a note

I would go with avado as it looks very simple, but it feels like avado is almost 50% more expansive (especially now at black Friday) than Daapnode.

How simple it is to install an Ether node on Daapnode compared to Avado? (i heard avado is very simple). I'm looking for a simple straightforward solution, hopefully with minimum possibilities to make mistakes. I do not want to start to dive into the depth of learning a new language.
How does the support team and community of each?
How to pick the right staking machine? (how do I know how much Ram I need and how much TB? and if to pick NVMe or SSD)

and a bonus question - what is MEV? Smiley
2  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Avoid Bittrex! on: November 13, 2020, 05:28:40 PM
You're late to the party lol. The reason they went down from being the top exchange some time in 2017 was because they suddenly enforced KYC among users and prevented withdrawals of many accounts. I remember some migrated to exchanges like Cryptopia but most of their users moved to Binance as they don't immediately ask KYC unless your withdrawal is 2 BTC above...

Thanks for the Info! so in other words i'm screwed? Feel like an exchange scammed me, gave me an IOU note that i can not use.

Actually, get your founds out of exchanges in general if you don't like submitting AML/KYC. It's pretty much inevitable for exchanges to be requiring these documents anyway, it's mostly just a matter of when. Slooowly but surely.

Also, can't believe I have to say this in late 2020: NOT YOUR KEYS, NOT YOUR COINS. https://notyourkeys.org

I know that... and I feel like an idiot as I lost btc in Mtgox... I guess I keep repeating the same mistakes
3  Economy / Exchanges / Avoid Bittrex! on: November 13, 2020, 04:31:07 PM
I used bittrex.com a long time ago (many years actually) and I have there a bit more then 0.5btc sitting in the account.
back then it wasn't THAT much, but now it became a lot more.

For some reason they do not tell, they decided to block the access from my account (I haven't used it for few years) and want me to send them tons of private documents! all this without explaining why, and while I have access to my email + password with 2fa AND a verified account.

Of course I can give them all the stuff they requested as i'm the legit owner, but i'm not interested in doing so as it is very private.
any suggestions?

Just received my funds.
I guess I had to make some noise on the web in order for someone at Poloniex to move their a..

Anyway, Im moving to Bittrex.
6  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is Poloniex gone??? People can't withdrawal, Support is gone. on: June 28, 2017, 12:26:55 PM
No problems here. I made a 2 btc withdrawal yesterday and another one today. Both arrived at the intended address quickly.

I think some people are actively trying to spread panic about Poloniex. For those who genuinely are waiting for their withdrawals, you should enable 2fa, i've heard the mods say that it speeds up withdrawals(fewer withdrawals have to be looked into manually with 2fa enabled).

2fa is on... and I posted in a different topic a link to jpeg -

Today I tried another withdrawal - and you can guess what happened

Iv'e been around to see several exchanges collapsing, and it usually starts like this - No one to talk to, cant get your money out of the exchange.
I hope its a false alarm. but just be-aware (or if you can withdraw to a different exchange- do that while you can)

Guys just be patient i received my withdrawals today ..

I'm patient for quite a lot of time (more then 3 weeks). and they don't answer anything

waiting for ANY response from polo support since 28 of may. Just moved my funds from there. Bad customer support.

They defiantly have bad customer support, but my fear is different. that they hold withdrawals on purpose.
I see a lot of trading volumes going to bittrex and Poloniex are starting to make problems when Withdrawing - that's a really bad sign
11  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Something bad is happening at Poloniex on: June 28, 2017, 08:34:30 AM
there is no bad thing occured with me.but i heard from some tradders that poloniex has some problem with their sequrity.so to safe your money active 2fa password system.

I use 2fa, and had a Poloniex account for more then 2 years. First time I have problems with it
12  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex Or Bittrex? on: June 28, 2017, 08:33:33 AM

I have a feeling Poloniex are getting into troubles as they hold all my withdrawals

I really hope that this is just a temporary issue, I'd hate to see them in trouble.
It's definitely my favourite exchange for altcoins and I can't imagine the impact it would have on altcoin prices if they were to shut down or lose people's funds.

Same here dude. Though i'm not yet experiencing the problems that people are having in this thread but i hope if anything is wrong they'd be able to fix it. Majority of my btcs are in polo for trading and it would be disastrous for me if something unwanted happens there.

Start getting them out while you can....
Just made another withdrawal that got stuck

Customer support ignores all requests. It is really starting to feel like they have liquidity problems

Edit : the account with 2fa/Email confirmation

Its been a months already that poloniex facing this kind of a problems. And because of this issues some of their client trader are transferring in Other exchange platform which they think its better than poloniex.

I want to transfer too... but they don't let me.
The thing that really pisses me off is that I have no one to talk too. They just ignore me.
15  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Something bad is happening at Poloniex on: June 27, 2017, 05:42:44 PM
The Bitcoin price dump might be an issue, that make sense. Wait until the price goes upwards, large balance held there as well as Bitcoin crisis going on so wait to get a reasonable solution from support. As far, Poloniex have a bad support, no response to Tickets on time.

It was even before the dump... im waiting for one withdrawl for 3 weeks.
I cant even cancel it and trade it for something else.

If poloniex goes down, all the altcoins are going to suffer a big hit for sure (But bitcoin did survive mtgox, one exchange cant kill a crypto currency)

I dont think the forum users are good targets... usually good targets are people who are not aware of ransomware...
Also most ransomware comes from spreading it over the internet and not as a direct attack (but there are exceptions ofcourse)

I'm want to make out of it a big support center for ransomware. currently there is only bleepingcomputer forum that is worth something Smiley
