1  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bittrex is a scam website - AVOID!- WITH PROOF!! on: December 22, 2017, 05:20:01 AM
Speaking of transparency...

Has anyone else noticed that Bittrex, LLC very quietly closed operations in Las Vegas, Nevada only to pop up as Bittrex, INC. in a DIFFERENT STATE (and DIFFERENT jurisdiction): Now they've SUDDENLY reappeared as the same (although different legal structure) in Bellevue, Washington.

ALL former complaints against the LLC are MAGICALLY INVALID due to Bittrex MOVING outside the regulatory agencies jurisdiction and changing legal status.  Hmm....

QUESTION:  If YOU owned the 3rd largest cryptocurrency-exchange and made such a RUSHED AND DRASTIC CHANGE  to new headquarters with a new legal identity, wouldn't you be SHOUTING your success from the rooftops?!  (Well... maybe not if your new address includes an APARTMENT number AND your new legal identity already has 129 COMPLAINTS within the FIRST WEEK at your new appartment headquarters.)

Instead... NO ANNOUNCEMENT WHATSOEVER, NOT EVEN A WHISPER... perhaps Bittrex just wanted to escape the (legal) heat in Las Vegas...  erhmh....

Bittrex has also removed any and all phone contact from domain and business registration.

(Isn't it against ICANN policy to NOT have valid contact info?) Funny enough (or not), the domain Bittrex.com expires in January with no sign of renewal.  Hmmrmh...

In any case, HERE is the NEW Bittrex contact information that Bittrex NEVER GAVE US, along with some links to relevant regulatory agencies.

https://www.bbb.org/northwest/business-reviews/virtual-currency/bittrex-inc-in-bellevue-wa-1000048938

(You can submit a complaint at the link above)

Bittrex, Inc.
788 110th Ave NE Apt N3103
Bellevue, WA 98004-8429

Business Management
Mr. Rami Kawach, Director
Mr. Richie Lai, Director
Mr. William Shihara, Director

ONLY 129 complaints filed against BITTREX, INC. and the BBB Northwest file has only been open for 6 DAYS (since Dec. 15th).

Who knows how many regulatory complaints they ignored and left behind in Las Vegas...

Besides BBB Northwest, you can also file a complaint through the Washington State Attorney General's Office...

http://www.atg.wa.gov/fileacomplaint.aspx

Sure, nothing is wrong here cuz a few randoms say "it works for me" (yet mention nothing of withdrawals or the problems HUNDREDS of others are experiencing...)

I'd love to think this is just growing pains but companies that WANT to be legit, ACT LEGIT and so far Bittrex has does nothing but.

Make of it what you will.
2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Long Term BTC Investment Is No More on: October 25, 2017, 08:46:14 PM
There's gonna be long term investors in BTC but it's prolly less feasible and profitable as time goes on.  The market is volatile and uncertain and who knows how much sense it makes to buy and hold for the long term - is mostly seems to be a matter of opinion.

Getting insane returns buying and holding is going to be tough.  When BTC was $100 it only had to go up a few hundred bucks to quadruple your investment.  Now at over $5000, the price has to go up tens of thousands of dollars to get the same return.

The downside also gets scary real quick but Imma still try to hold for long term,
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Crypto-Gravytrain Quest: Can I Turn Time and Effort into Bitcoin billions? on: July 19, 2016, 07:31:57 PM
Thanks again for all the help!  I really wish I could just buy a little bitcoin every month and put it away but I guess the next best thing is exchanging my time and services for BTC and putting that away instead.  I've made a separate paper wallet for just this purpose.

I really have to salute you brother..Your method is constructive and positive. I wish all the success in crypto world.

However, I have a suggestion for you. Don't mine bitcoin even if your electricity cost is included in your rent. Try mining altcoins with less difficulty and have a good future outlook. Try searching some exchanges to see the trading volume and shortlist the altcoin to mine accordingly. You will mine more numbers of altcoins than bitcoin. Then exchange these altcoins in to bitcoin using an exchange. You will earn more daily.

Secondly, don't use google adsense. You will earn almost nothing at this stage. Once you have a lot of daily visitors, you can choose to switch back. But as of now, use a-ads.com.

It is profitable and you will earn more to show bitcoin related ads. Try these and let me know the result.
Thank you avikz!  I appreciate your support and your suggestions are very good.  I need to play around with altcoins more because I agree it is much more profitable to mine them and then exchange for BTC.  Any suggestions for a good multi-pool?  I've been trying ipominer.com and kinda have mixed feelings about them.

I agree on adsense, the ads aren't even relevant and my traffic is small... just didn't know what else to use.  So thanks for suggesting a-ads.com, I will try them out.

So, umm... onward some more!

PS - I agree on faucets however, me "wasting" time on them served a couple purposes.  First, it's given me a tiny bit of BTC to play with (I'm currently lending it out for a small % return on Poloniex).  Also, it's given me knowledge and experience with the faucets which has triggered a couple ideas and will lead to future content for my blog.  So while it may be a waste, the time wasn't wasted.  :-)

What are the topics of the articles?
What are your expectations regarding the articles? (minimum/maximum lenght, number of articles per week, etc.)
How much are you willing to pay? (also, will it be a fixed price or a per-word/page rate?).

Hello,

I too am interested in working with you but agree with 98789 that it would be beneficial to include more information in the OP so we aren't all asking the same questions and you aren't repeating the same answers.

I'd also like to ask how many people you are looking to hire, work-load requirements, and what sort of skill/knowledge level you're looking for.  It is obvious that 98789 is a perfect fit for this job but if you are hiring multiple people, I am eager to work.

Thank you and best of luck!
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Crypto-Gravytrain Quest: Can I Turn Time and Effort into Bitcoin billions? on: July 19, 2016, 03:11:50 AM
I just updated the OP with a few of the things I've been working on including a link to my blog and Twitter account.

Playing around on faucets and whatnot has yielded mediocre results but I've got a tiny bit of BTC, LTC, and DOGE to play with and some info/experience for future blog posts.

My next steps are to get my other social media accounts going, focus on making more posts and building up my rep here, and offering my services in the services thread to help build up a nest egg.

Future updates will be posted on the blog so I'm not spending a ton of time posting the same info everywhere.

Thanks again for all the support I've received thus far!!  Please bookmark my blog and keep checking back as I'll keep adding more info.  Thanks!  CryptoGravyTrain.blogspot.com
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SYNX] Syndicate | Staking Masternodes | Stealth Address' | Darksend | Encrypted on: June 28, 2016, 08:54:58 PM
I'm still planning on writing a review/blog post but haven't been able to get the wallet to compile yet.  It'd kinda be a crappy review/post without me being able to play with that part.  So... back to going through the dependencies, re-installing, and trying to compile again.

Soon as I get my wallet working I'll follow/tweet on twitter as well.

Thanks for keeping us updated and for working so hard on this.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Crypto-Gravytrain Quest: Can I Turn Time and Effort into Bitcoin billions? on: June 24, 2016, 06:57:42 AM
Good ideas, thank you.  Yeah, I don't expect to get rich overnight.  The plan is to build it up over time and eventually end up with something awesome.  I'd love buy bitcoins every month no matter the price but really don't have extra money to put out like that (yet, haha).  Instead, maybe I can post in the Services section a couple times a month and trade my skills for a little extra BTC to stash away.  Write a few original content articles, install/modify a script or two, and there ya go, I've got a way to save a little BTC every month.

I've tried the risky stuff before, probably try it again sooner or later but can't afford to give it a second thought for now.  lol.

And I completely agree on the signature campaign idea, that'll happen in the near future.  It looks like there are some decent ones that are worthwhile... ONCE I've built up my account to that point.

Edit: Oh yes, I could buy an account too, I like it.  Just have to find work/ways to get enough BTC to do that.

Quick Update:
I've got two Gridseed Minis running now, maybe generating a penny or two a day.  At least it's something.  Smiley
I also dug out my old 5850 gpu to start mining with it but haven't been able to get that going yet.
My old crusty laptop gave me a (literally) shocking experience tonight and I had to replace the hard drive and start over so that's a setback.

Note to self... never buy another Toshiba laptop, that's the second one I've had with mystical electrical zapping super powers.

I'll also have to make a new BTC wallet and address now.  D'oh.  When I do I'll post the address here so everyone can track my progress.

Anyway, onward, and um... onward.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / My Crypto-Gravytrain Quest: Can I Turn Time and Effort into Bitcoin billions? on: June 23, 2016, 08:52:24 PM
I don't know if this is the best place for my thread but I have to start somewhere.

The purpose of this thread is to keep track of my attempts to make money with Bitcoins and other Altcoins.  Here I'll list the things I'm doing to try and earn Bitcoins (good and bad) and hopefully help myself and others along the way.

Placeholder for Current/Long-Term BTC Goals & Progress
I'll update my goals and progress here... I don't have an immediate BTC goal yet but I do have goals to build up my account, rep, blog, social media, etc, and will set BTC goals soon.  To start, I won't set lofty goals because that'll lead to discouragement and possibly quitting in disgust.  Instead, I'll focus on baby steps and complete little things to keep me going.

What I'm currently doing to reach my goals
Different things I am trying in order to earn more BTC and reach my goals as well as observations and results.
  • So far I have set up my account here and am trying to make beneficial posts.
  • I've got a Twitter account set up and am trying to tweet at least once a day on Bitcoin topics.
  • I'm almost done setting up a free blog @ blogspot, although I may have set it up wrong and have to redo it/start over.
  • Got a cpuminer going on x11 coins, specifically SYNX... I know, probably not profitable at all but sometimes we do stupid stuff in order to build a nest egg, even a tiny one.(No longer mining this one...)
  • I've been visiting a few faucets and earning very small amounts of Bitcoins that way but so far not enough to cash out any.
  • I'm working on getting some obsolete mining hardware (because it's cheap and will give me a passive way to earn coins).  I am not worried about electricity on such a small scale and besides, it's included in my rent

If there are more ways I can get started, please share.  I'm open to any and all suggestions.

I'll keep this thread updated with my progress.  Wish me luck!

Update: July, 18th 2016

  • I've got a blog set up, trying to use AdSense for revenue, and have been making posts (although I need to make more):  CryptoGravyTrain.blogspot.com
  • Twitter is going, I'm trying to post relevant stuff including weekly BTC price charts:  @Crypto_Gravy
  • I haven't been posting here enough, need to focus on that more...
  • Future updates will be moved to my blog, so that I don't have a bunch of places with essentially the same info

My next step is to stop spending so much time making piddly fractions of pennies from faucets and the like and start spending more time offering my services here, creating more content on the blog, etc.

Thanks again for all the support!!
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SYNX] Syndicate | Staking Masternodes | Stealth Address' | Darksend | Encrypted on: June 23, 2016, 08:19:08 PM
Yes, thank you.  I really love getting excited about a new coin.  I'll make some time tonight and do a blog review and another tweet once that's done.

Is there any interest in tutorials or the like or have I missed it and they've already been covered?  Perhaps I could find time to do one or two... maybe on setting up a master node?

Anyway, good deal.  Definitely gonna keep watching this one.
10  Economy / Digital goods / [Feeler - WTS] Anyone Interested in a Windows Vista Key? on: June 23, 2016, 07:28:25 PM
I'm just getting into all this and got an old crusty laptop to get me going.  It had Vista but I installed Ubuntu on there and have no intention of messing with Vista.  I know it's kind of a garbage OS, is there any value and or interest in a Windows Vista key?  Or should I quit worrying about the numbers fading on the tag?

Thank you for helping me.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SYNX] Syndicate | Staking Masternodes | Stealth Address' | Darksend | Encrypted on: June 23, 2016, 05:53:21 PM
I really like the ideas behind this coin and the focus on actually being able to use it in everyday transactions.  Gonna download the files and dink around a bit, hopefully make a few SYNX and help this coin succeed.  I'll try and do a blog review too if I get time.

Thanks for some fresh new innovation!
12  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for review writer on: June 23, 2016, 05:15:07 AM
After three revisions, a couple days, and my review still "pending", I take back my previous statements.  Thanks for the opportunity but this is not for me.
13  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for content writer on: June 20, 2016, 10:41:34 PM
I'd be happy to write an article or two for you since it would help build my account and rep here and give me a little extra BTC.

Unfortunately, I'm brand new and have no way of meeting your requirements despite being fully capable of delivering the type of content you are looking for including an understanding of Bitcoin commensurate with experience.

If you want to give me a test assignment, I'll complete a 500+ word article and submit it for your review.  You only have to pay if you are happy with my work.  Otherwise, at least I'll have a sample to show others.

Just for fun, I rewrote the original post:

###########################

I’m looking for content writers who can create original articles relating to Bitcoin, including: writing press releases, reviews of Bitcoin related services, tutorials, etc.

I will pay $5 per article for quality, original work that is over 500 words in length.

Applicants must be able to meet the following requirements:

1.  Ability to create fluent articles while paying attention to grammar and spelling
2.  Demonstrate an adequate level of knowledge and skill pertaining to crypto-currencies and Bitcoin as a whole.  I am looking for writers who know and understand the topics they cover.
3.  Please include samples of previous work

You can reply here or via PM and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

Thanks!

############################

Since there's no reason at all to trust me, I don't even expect a response but hope this post may lead to work down the road.

Best of luck,
CG
14  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for review writer on: June 20, 2016, 07:51:26 PM
I've just completed the "test" review we discussed and submitted it to you via PM.  Please take a look and let me know if it is acceptable.  If so, payment can be made to the BTC address in my signature.

For everyone who's interested... this wasn't very difficult but it does take some time/knowledge/effort and the OP has a short list of requirements that each review must meet.  With a low compensation rate and pending questions in this thread, I can see this isn't for everyone but it definitely beats clicking on faucets if you've got the time and want BTC.
15  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for review writer on: June 20, 2016, 03:25:54 PM
Hello,

I am available to write a short product review as outlined in your post.  Yes, I'm new here but think you'll find my writing skills are more than adequate and my finished work will be well worth the compensation offered.  I am willing to work for the price offered as this will also help me build my rep and account here.

What you will get from me:

1 - English Fluency
2 - Unique, original content reviewing the product in question
3 - Limited keyword optimization for both the article title and content
4 - The product review will be completed and submitted for approval - Payment is not expected until you are satisfied with my work

Any other questions, just ask.  Sending a PM now, as requested.

Thanks!
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How earn Bitcoins fast and free?? on: June 18, 2016, 11:48:58 PM
I agree Winspiral... but saying faucets are 'garbage' vs. saying they are 'worthless' are not the same thing, at least in my eyes.  IMHO faucets produce a healthy steaming virtual hunk of skunk for BTC and the blockchain as a whole.  But that doesn't mean they are worthless to all as many people are obviously willing to jump through hoops and spend their time chasing satoshi scraps.  Nothing wrong with that at all and I can see how getting frequent payouts (no matter how small) is a huge draw.  If you find faucets are worth your time then more power to you!  Earn all the satoshi you can!

For a lot of people, this is enough.  So I guess you won't know for sure if faucets are for you until you jump in and find out.

I still think that if someone's goal is to earn bitcoins, there are more productive ways to allocate time.  Those usually don't scratch that "instant gratification" itch though, so again: to each their own and best of luck to us all!

I'm new here but have been watching for a while so time to register and post.  There are some great comments on why faucets clog the blockchain with junk and are a waste of effort but it is possible to earn free bitcoins in many other worthwhile ways.  Usually the best way to earn free bitcoins quickly is dumb luck.   Grin

Asking for a sure-fire "fast and free" way is like chasing the ever elusive (and often destructive) get rich quick schemes.

If you don't have any money to put up front, my suggestion is to focus on ways that will provide an adequate return for the time/effort spent and not worry so much about the "fast" part.  No/Less money up front means more time/effort for the same rewards.

I'm gonna try sometime similar here soon.

Best of luck!
