1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RIC] Riecoin: constellations POW *CPU* HARD FORK successful, world record on: November 01, 2018, 10:51:18 PM
Has anyone else experienced issues with withdraws on zapple? I have not received any emails from zapple to confirm withdraws.
Edit: it's working, false alarm.

Ziiip why do you think segwit is not good for the coin ? It will not hurt to have it like functionality even to not use it or activating it right now ?
The idea with never ending riecoin is cool and I am 100% agree. The unique of riecoin is its algorithm and I think we must not put limits on this. My c++ skills are not good too but I will help you in that.

The future of the coin right now depend on us. We can have voting on the community board about the direction to where the coin should be developed.

The reasons I think segwit is unnecessary for Riecoin.
1) The blockahin is heavier (transactions require more space)
2) The fee is smaller only for some kind of tx
3) Riecoin traditionally had zero fees for transactions with fewer than 7 inputs(not positive on this number off the top of my head but zero fee is default for small size tx)
4) Since segwit tx get discounted fees by weight and Riecoin still wants 0 fee tx, it only makes sense to change this and make segwit tx more expensive since it requires more space. (this would require change to current Core implementation if segwit is adopted)

Given these points I still see how it's valuable to follow BTC code because it's easiest to merge future updates etc (probably why 99% of altcoins blindly follow it exclusively)
FWIW I really don't care if we continue with following Bitcoin Core at the end of the day these issues are very minor since the chain is not likely to see high use such as the bitcoin chain.

I personally like what Bitcoin Unlimited is doing, primarily with graphene and other improvements to help block propagation, further reduce orphan rates. But I'm not married to that solution, just decided to play around with the idea.

Hopefully that answers your question. I don't intend to have a huge debate about it, but I think the fee situation should at least be given special attention, unless of course everyone is fine with ditching 0 fee tx.

Or maybe other miners can start mining using a 0.16.3 wallet, I am the only one for now!

uBlock.it will upgrade to 0.16.3 as soon as it's approved by gatra and is available on the official github. I have started testing it and may mine a few blocks on main net but the pool will remain on 10.2 for the time being.

Imo I wish we would have ditched segwit. It's completely unnecessary for Riecoin. But we're already almost complete with 16.3 so it is what it is.

For fun, I am working on a Bitcoin Unlimited fork of riecoin with no segwit, it will take some time as i'm not very experienced with c++  so don't expect release anytime soon (or ever) but if you see it on the testnet you'll know. we'll see how it goes.  Cheesy

So are you guys running with ,inasne # of threads or only one thread per CPU??

It's best to align instances and threads to each NUMA node from my experience.

Might pick up some RIC, was de-listed from Poloniex and several people panic sold down to 50 sats. New software developments are happening with new core release soon. Also some other community members will likely list this coin somewhere with more liquidity in the near future.

It's currently traded on https://zapple.com/ which unfortunately is not on coinmarketcap at the moment.

Coin is very under the radar, it's worth a gamble imo.

Just a heads up, uBlock.it is not gone.

We are having issues with our .IT domain and they should be resolved "in a few days" (according to the registrar)

Because we don't want these types of issues moving forward we will soon move to http://ric.blockocean.com/

Users can still mine by pointing to mine.blockocean.com:5000
Sorry for the inconvenience

I suppose the lesson here is, when your coin is down to one exchange it is mandatory to list elsewhere. If wallet is ever disabled for an extended period of time, volume may slip below the primary exchanges volume threshold.
If you have two exchanges with one wallet disabled, at least arbitrage bots will keep volume up.

Almost as if Polo did this intentionally.

Disable wallet for months, knowing it's the only exchange.
De-list due to low volume.

HELP please...

Just downloaded the wallet. Cannot find connections to the network.

I did not find in the OP / website addnodes to add.

Finally, the wallet found some connections after a long time.

Also, is there a boostrap to speed up syncing?

the syncing seems it will take for ever....

thanks in advance

I will upload a new copy of the blockchain and host on ublock.it for anyone that needs an updated copy of the chain.

Here are some "good " nodes you may add to your wallet

Lastly, you may want to be careful opening up Riecoin for incoming connections as nodes that accept incoming connections have been repeatedly ddosd in the past.

At this point I actually believe that funds should be used to list RIC on another exchange, rather than upgrading the wallet. Just my two cents.

While I do agree the wallet needs upgraded, RIC needs liquidity to survive. In the meantime, we need zapple listed on cmc etc.

Edit: just to clarify, I do think we need a newer wallet version but really only something like version 0.12.1-0.14.1 would be sufficient. Adding segwit to this coin is largely unnecessary and will only increase the amount of work required for this upgrade.

uBlock.it is down temporarily while we resolve a billing issue with our hosting provider, your funds are safe.

seems like we have to do this about once a year  Roll Eyes

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Fastcoin - FST - The Fastest coin so far in the market - is launched!! on: June 25, 2018, 11:53:52 PM
The good news is now the network has 2 pools and one solo miner, blockchain is more stable now. Smiley
If we could only update wallet and increase block time just a bit, we'd be in good shape.

Where valid Block Explorer for LTZ?
Explorer here

It would be nice to see the LTZ dev not engage with all the trolls and posting memes and everything in bold red letters. Lead by example.

Also when stock exchange or trade satoshi? I think those exchanges are logical next step.

ziiip occasionally posts a list of "safe" nodes to connect to.  (Of course, you've probably also got great ddos protection if you're setting up an exchange, so this may be unnecessary).  I haven't verified it recently, since I don't want to get my neighborhood kicked off the internet again for several hours.

Generally most nodes are okay as long as you don't end up on the node list here https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ric/#!network
I believe the explorer node is 178.33.109.17, so as long as you don't connect to it, you should stay off the node list.

Yes, and I'm happy to deal with getting it all going with no formal submission - I've just got to get a RIC node up and synced to the network.

I can aim for this to be live paired against BTC by the end of the week.  I could pair against any of the other bases but I have a feeling BTC will be best for this.

I tried signing up and it just hangs when I click register, that's what I was referring to about registrations
