If you're asking whether bitcoin can handle the throughput of a point of sale network, then no. Not right now anyway. The block size can be increased to accommodate this in the future but it's not needed right now.

Yup, you will have to use CC for cup of coffee. Bitcoin future is in speculation.

Register an account at btc-e.com if you haven't already done so. You don't need any ID or verification to trade cryptocurrencies there. Select Finance from their main menu at the top right of the screen (after logging in) and click the Deposit button next to the NMC section. Scroll down to see the namecoin deposit address, copy and paste that and send the namecoins to that address. You can then trade them for bitcoins, litecoins, novacoins or fiat if you so desire.

Now it makes sence what the Namecoins are for. Thanks for the explanation.
