381  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: DUST building up inside miners! on: September 18, 2014, 03:57:39 PM
Not sure if this has been asked before (I'm new on here, sorry). But my miners are gathering a lot of dust inside. Does it matter? Do you guys vacuum them, is it safe to do that? If you do, how often do you clean them?
Thanks!

You could vaccum it, but it would be better to get some compressed air and blast it, and then vaccum it.
You should do so since dust prevents the miner from releasing the heat, and it may cause it to overheat and lower the hashrate.
382  Economy / Services / Re: Redirected fake e-mails (Receive + Send) on: September 17, 2014, 06:43:51 PM
I don't get it. Can't you just make a normal gmail account, and set up email forwarding? Anyone can do that.

How many gmails accounts can you make in 10 minutes?

10? Lol, what a nice business you got going here.

384  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: never understood bitcoin mining on: September 17, 2014, 04:16:59 PM
Looks like people trying to do this alone is impossible or let me rather say, not profitable.

Are there still people doing this on their own? And are they making any money or are they doing this as a hobby?

Most of the mining is now done by large companies with huge datacentres, since they can get cheaper electricity and wholesale price for equipment.
385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alt coin mining on: September 17, 2014, 04:06:35 PM
Is there any alt-coin that is worth mining without a rig or a strong pc?

You could CPU mine Bitcoin and hope that you solve a block, lol.
Nope, there isn't, this is 2014 mining, and not 2008 mining.
By the way, I have no idea why you have the PrimeDice signature, you won't be paid, you know.
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: where to rent? on: September 17, 2014, 04:04:36 PM
I've checked all the above
but there is no such option

Doesn't matter, any rig will work, you know, it doesn't have to be a GPU, they can be ASICs.

Any trusted site to rent GPU mining contract preferably nvidia and can run miner of ur choice?

"miner of ur choice" - so you would actually want to run a software of you choice? You can only do this if you find someone who is willing to give a full access to the rigs ... there is no automated service that would allow this.

BTW: if you're looking to get some massive hashing power without contracts you can also check NiceHash.com

That is correct, if you want to deal with a bunch of scammers and thiefs, go to NiceHash.
387  Economy / Speculation / Re: The future on: September 17, 2014, 04:02:53 PM
If Bitcoin goes to $100, BUY BUY BUY!

Free money is free money, who doesn't like to make free money by "buying the dip"?  Scared money don't make no money.

Exactly. Buy and hoard.

What will you do if bitcoin goes to $100 for multiple months?

What will you do if bitcoin goes to $1000 for 36hours only?

If I know that Bitcoin will go to $1000 for only 36 Hours, then that would mean that I have the power to predict the future, and so I can solve all future blocks and be rich. Lol.

Did I read something wrong or misunderstand something? What I am understanding is that No new members are accepted, only new Staff.
Also, what Stunna says is making me confused.

Campaign has changed as of August term, ranks below senior are no longer allowed to participate. Also all senior/hero slots are full

So, erm, Seniors are no longer allowed to participate, but the slots are full? Does this mean that existing members get kicked out?
389  Economy / Lending / Re: need 1$ loan back 2$ on: September 17, 2014, 03:53:07 PM
I do not want to take the BTC through credit card  Roll Eyes

So, now that you returned his $2, can you bother returning my 0.073BTC to me?
390  Economy / Services / Re: PB Mining -- 5 year mining contracts! on: September 17, 2014, 03:52:15 PM
When difficulty goes up you make less btc its a no brainer. If it bothers you add more hashpower to keep up.

What he is expecting and thinking is that PBMining will offer a double hashrate thing, so that his earnings go up.
He obviously didn't do his work before investing in bitcoin.
391  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Network Setup For Miners And Server on: September 17, 2014, 03:50:13 PM
Hi, I could really use some help please. I bought 4 miners and a router to connect them all and they work fine if I'm connected to someone else's pool.

I want to set up my own p2pool, and I did that and it's now running, but I can't figure out how to connect the miners to my pool server.

Here's an image that demonstrates the layout and addresses:

Please let me know what other information your require.

Thank you.

Find the external IP for your pool server, and then connect to it.

393  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What mining hardware i need for 0.1 BTC a day? on: September 16, 2014, 04:08:43 PM
When network hashrate goes up, it makes the difficulty go up, which makes the earnings go down. So basically he skipped the middle part but he's right.

But difficulty get changed every ~ 12 days only whereas network hash rate changes all the time, so calculation on needed hash power for a certain amount of mined BTC per day should be based on network has rate only, right?

You can do both. You can either calculate the amount of total expected mined coins within a given timeframe, calculate the percentage of the total network hashrate that you control, and then multiply it by the percentage. That gives an estimation of what you will get within that given timeframe too.
394  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What mining hardware i need for 0.1 BTC a day? on: September 16, 2014, 04:01:15 PM
At current difficulty, you would need a minimum of 6TH/s.

I may have misunderstood something, but doesn't it depend on actual network hash rate instead of current difficulty, resulting in a variable amount of BTC mined per day with a given available hash rate?

When network hashrate goes up, it makes the difficulty go up, which makes the earnings go down. So basically he skipped the middle part but he's right.
395  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Offline wallet on: September 16, 2014, 03:59:54 PM
Sooo...  putting bitaddress.org onto a CD/USB..

How do?

You save the webpage. You go to bitaddress.org, and you hit CTRL + S. Save the file, transfer to your USB/CD, and use it on your offline pc.
396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Somehow my reciever received .0001 and .215 went to fees on: September 16, 2014, 03:58:30 PM
So i received a message on cex yesterday that this is going to be sent up to management to discuss, so hopefully i can get at least a portion back

There have been cases worse than yours, and they got their money back, so don't worry. Some people put in like 4 BTC as a fee, and they got it back.
397  Economy / Lending / Re: 1$ loan for 2$ payback in 3 days on: September 15, 2014, 08:11:20 PM
want to invest my money in hexaprofit
btw 1$ is not alot for that much insulting

Wow, if you haven't got $1, you really have a serious problem, don't you?
A lot or not, no collateral = no loan.
398  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Offline wallet on: September 15, 2014, 07:17:56 PM
If I install windows on a new harddrive, don't connect it to the web ever.  Then install the QT wallet from a CD, run the QT wallet, copy the public address and do a dumppriv key to get my private key and write it down.

Can I send BTC to that public address and then use the private key I've written down to get it 10 years from now or does that wallet.dat file need to be on a computer that is connected to the web at one point?

Yes, but you can simply save something like bitaddress.org as a html onto a pendrive, stick it into the other PC, open it and then make a paper wallet. Much easier.
You might even miscopy the characters in the private key, screwing everything up.
399  Other / Meta / Re: How to report possible scammers? on: September 15, 2014, 07:15:17 PM
I'm just arrived and I found that in this forum there are several scammers, even high ranked, I won't trust anyone here...

You should trust people with trust. That is, most people on DefaultTrust, and other that have at least a little trust rating/feedback.
Check that he has never attempted to scam before, and watch out for obvious stuff (the lending section).
400  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: any way to get referrals? on: September 15, 2014, 07:13:30 PM
You need to promote your link to people that are genuinely interested in cex.io and they will buy some ghs, but I doubt that will work since the ghs there is overpriced.
