421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: My life savings 55.25btc - in Orphaned block! on: September 13, 2014, 12:25:30 AM
are bitcoins in orphan blocks really lost?  Huh Huh

No, they're not. Where does it say that?
422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: My life savings 55.25btc - in Orphaned block! on: September 12, 2014, 11:38:31 PM
Cry MY LIFE SAVINGS ORPHANED!

Uh... You know that that is meaningless?
423  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New to Mining - Help Please on: September 12, 2014, 08:11:44 PM
Current figures for litecoin:

Hashrate(?):   892,522 MH/s

Block Generation Time(?):
1 block: 2.3 minutes
12 blocks: 27.8 minutes
24 blocks: 55.6 minutes

Does this mean with a 1TH/s Asic you could be cracking a block in 2.3 minutes? I don't get why that would be hard?

No, 1TH/s Bitcoin ASICs cannot be used on Litecoin. Bitcoin is on the SHA-256 algorithm and Litecoin is on the scrypt algorithm.
424  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: What is the best/easiest way to run a gridseed to mine both sha and scrypt on: September 12, 2014, 08:10:53 PM
my main computer is a macbook pro but i want to run a gridseed 5 chip of a rasberry pi, i'm aware i could do this via minepeon or scrypta but these only use the scrypt mining capacities of the gridseed.
What would you suggest i use in order to mine both algorithms at the same time

Also, as i am using a mac i cannot use windisk32, what is a good sd card writer for mac os.

Thanks in advance for anyone that can help mr noob here.

May I ask why you want to use your gridseed to mine both algorithms at the same time, or even use your device at all?

Well i currently have asic sha usb chips that i was using on a usb hub but am selling those, my only other peice of mining equipment is the gridseed

You know that running it on scrypt only would yield more, and that what you earn from it is probably less than your electricity consumption, right?
425  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New to Mining - Help Please on: September 12, 2014, 06:57:45 PM
So maybe mining bitcoin would be difficult now, but what about the other cyptocurrencies out there?

Is there a multiple mining software for mac? Something that can switch between currencies?

Also, a pool which supports this?

Again, I repeat my statement.
You would have to invest hundreds and thousands in mining equipment, and have cheap electricity, to hope for profit.
426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What would speed up confirmation time? on: September 12, 2014, 06:02:39 PM
Honestly I think people is way too concerned about this. As soon as you see the payment has been done, and it's being processed in the blockchain, then who cares if it takes one hour to confirm? nothing will go wrong, as soon as the money is sent on the correct address you are set.
"nothing will go wrong"
Except double spending?

No, including double spending. Bitcoin was designed to prevent double spending, and I have no idea why you are even worrying about it because it won't happen.
427  Economy / Lending / Re: 1-2 BTC Loan Requested on: September 12, 2014, 05:58:54 PM
Looking for 1-2 btc loan.  Duration and interest rate is negotiable.  I had a deal offered to me that I don't want to pass up.

What is your  collateral ?

I have some Casascius 0.5BTC coins I am attempting to sell, these could be collateral if someone requires it.

Where are you located, and how many of those do you have? Are they loaded or not?

The easiest method would be with GAW, since they all do the hosting and scrypt and let you in the most profitable pool. If you have any question ask me without trouble I'm with them since a week and I dont regret it.

What a nice explanation, lol.

Hello all,

I've just discovered mining and am at present using Asteroid - Mining Bitcoin through Slush's Pool. I'm currently seeing speeds of about 70MH/s.

I'm guessing this isn't very much - i'm not using dedicated hardware at the moment.

What I want to know, is how do we find out the current difficulty level, and what type of speed we need to achieve to mine a decent amount of coins.

What type of cheap external devices are recommended for mac if you wanted to mine solo?

Any advice would be appreciated. I'm eager to start learning!

=)

The current difficulty level can be found at https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty.
The speed you want depends on what "a decent amount of coins" is to you.

ANXPro is down?

ANXPRO is currently under a DDoS attack, we're working to solve this problem.

As in, the bots don't run overnight. Are you running them off a home PC?

Not me, and the order processing and activation aren't automatic at the moment. He's considering switching them to automatic.

Any reason for the shutdown?

What shutdown are you talking about?
433  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ANX: Your Ultimate Crypto Trading Platform on: September 11, 2014, 07:07:44 PM
Sorry, but SEPA is a must if you want any Europeans to participate.

Yeah, we understand that. We are trying to keep as many payment methods up as possible, but some circumstances are just out of our control.

Interestingly you already had it, so what's changed? All it takes is a bank account within the SEPA area, others (like Kraken) can do it as well.

Again, we are having problems that we cannot disclose, which may lead to the removal of this feature.

when you will enable SEPA again?

I'm sorry about that. I'd also like it to be enabled again, but unfortunately, due to some reasons I can't disclose, it has been disabled, alongside direct Australian Banking. It might be removed altogether, but I hope not, and we are discussing this.
how about okpay as a alternativ payment method?

Nice idea, we'll have a look into that.
ANXPRO supports EgoPay as an alternative payment method.

438  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Hub USB on: September 11, 2014, 04:34:37 PM
Please: How can I use USB Hub to mine? I have 5 (Five) Antminer 1.6Gh / s. I wish I could use the five devices to a USB Hub conctados working smoothly.

Yes, of course you can, but make sure your hub is of a good quality and can provide enough power for 5 Antminer U1s.
Also, you should note that you won't profit with those devices anyway, but it's fun to try out.
439  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular Bitcoin Game | 0.91% Edge | PVP | Jackpot | Faucet on: September 11, 2014, 04:29:49 PM
Anyone have an issue where referrals aren't counted in the Achievements page but exist on the Referrals page? Do they need to bet a particular amount for it to apply to levels?

Achievements for referrals are bugged for a lot of users, we'll work on fixing that. Our developer has told me that he will try his best to put mobile live tonight as well.

With regards to faucet, we've already started brainstorming a completely brand new system to replace the faucet that I think people might like. The new system will value less frequent but much higher rewards. I think it is pretty unfair that people who farmed the faucet for 5+ hours/day are calling the current nerf greedy. I've always believed that faucet was something for users to claim for fun and to test out the website, not to pay their rent.

Ultimately what was happening:

1. People spammed chat to level up

2. Users sold their high level accounts

3. High level accounts claim faucet 10+hrs/day

The initial nerf which I believe we have since removed nerfed all 1 word chat messages which is why some users saw their chat count and thus faucet plummet to 10% of their previous total.

This isn't the first time we've had to nerf faucet in PD history, it has taught me many important lessons namely that it is better not to offer something than offer it and reduce it later.

Our massive giveaway is still to come in the near future.

That would be awesome. Less frequent, higher rewarding. Now I won't have to try and 10x my faucet, lol.
Thanks Stunna.

Frequent small loans/repayment seems to point to a long con. Not saying you are doing this but it fits a pattern and is suspicious.

Thank you for ur interest @KWH. Actually i m trying to loan more but ppl r not interested in. So i m accepting the amount they offer. What's the best way to get a good profile? Any recommendations please. Thank you.

Help out in the community, buy/sell/trade with trusted people. It takes time to get a good reputation, it won't happen with a few small loans nor will it happen overnight.

He asked if he could loan a small amount from me, purely to gain trust.
I dont have collateral but i can loan even a smaller amount to have your feedback. Thank you.

No. Do not ask for trust loans. People will bombard you with negatives, since you're taking out loans purely to gain trust. That isn't trust.
