Question
At the back of the box where you have the white intake vent. Do you think I should add a additional powered fan to help bring cool air in?

Won't make much difference but its up to you. Pull is almost as good as push pull for enclosed.
642  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How quiet is the Avalon 4.1, really? on: January 05, 2016, 12:40:33 PM
No 20db is not going to happen.

But  it will go around 30 db at 800gh

These are all meaningless numbers, like most db readings. I've had a 4.1 as my main on point heater since it came out and underclocked with fan set low its so much quieter than my already quiet computer that I can't hear it. Both my 1500W Enermax PSU and CX750M were significantly louder than the 4.1 so I paired it with an RM1000.

Always Nice to see.

Actual link: http://www.marketwired.com/press-release/btcs-executives-donate-personal-shares-to-benefit-the-chamber-of-digital-commerce-otcqb-btcs-2085213.htm

Quote
ARLINGTON, VA--(Marketwired - Jan 4, 2016) - BTCS Inc. (OTCQB: BTCS) ("BTCS" or the "Company"), a blockchain technology focused company which secures the blockchain through its transaction verification services business, announced its CEO and COO have donated shares of BTCS common stock from their personal holdings, currently valued at 50,000, to the educational affiliate of the Chamber of Digital Commerce (http://www.digitalchamber.org/).

Charles Allen, chief executive officer of BTCS, stated, "The support the Chamber provides to our industry is invaluable, and we're pleased to be in a position to give back to support their mission. As our success continues, we hope to help the work of other qualified non-profit organizations that back the burgeoning blockchain technology and digital currency industries." Allen further stated "We are thrilled with the Chamber's efforts in North Carolina and the recent guidance provided by the North Carolina Commissioner of Banks which clearly exempts our transaction verification service business from requiring a money transmitter license."

The Chamber of Digital Commerce is a Washington, DC-based trade association representing the digital asset industry. Its mission is to promote the acceptance and use of digital assets and related technologies. Through education, advocacy, and working closely with policymakers, regulatory agencies and industry, the Chamber of Digital Commerce's goal is to develop a pro-growth legal environment that fosters innovation, jobs and investment.

Perianne Boring, founder and president of the Chamber stated, "Regulatory risk continues to be one of the greatest hurdles to widespread adoption of blockchain-based technologies. With the support of BTCS and our members, the Chamber helps facilitate the enactment of responsible, prudent legislation and regulation, which helps support the vitality of the industry. The Chamber is grateful for the generous gift from Mr. Allen and Mr. Handerhan, and for their partnership in helping to advance the public-private sector dialogue."

"With the recent successful closing of our financing, BTCS is now well-positioned for continued growth," stated Michal Handerhan, chief operating officer of BTCS. "Charles and I believe this share donation is a way for the Chamber to share in our success as we move forward."

Losing investor money hand over fist, unable to pay their debts but still giving away money - makes sense. There's no accomneying SEC filling so its hard to know what portion was actually their personal holdings and what portion came from the "lets give ourselves ridiculous stock options and hope no one notices".
645  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Yes Miners... Is their M20 model hashing at 20Th/s at 1500w for real? on: December 31, 2015, 01:07:16 PM
According to the above given imprint the names of the Owner and CEO is clearly mentioned and while I checked into the German Government Company registration the names and company seem legitimate to me.

As you can see the name of the company is registered and legitimate.

Means nothing.

Brand new account advertising a 99% scam company, this isn't 2014 any more dude.
646  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: S7 Batch 8/9 or Avalon 6 on: December 31, 2015, 12:22:05 PM
I've found them to be about equal in terms of quality/failure rate - but when they do fail, you'll spend a ton of money sending the S7 back to China whereas it's fast and inexpensive getting the Avalon serviced here.

Aren't they accepting returns to their US shop?
647  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain give false? on: December 31, 2015, 12:20:12 PM
in Sicily these people are put aside, because they bring nothing but trouble

Stop ordering from them, this is not your first "omg bitmain scammers ripoff omg omg" thread.
648  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain give false? on: December 31, 2015, 01:17:28 AM
Price of import = sale price of items (or fair value) + shipping ACTUAL cost. The amount you were charged for shipping was possibly less than it actually cost to ship, meaning the declared value comes out higher. + exchange variations.
That's a lie. You are to be charged on the value you PAID for. You cannot be taxed anywhere in the world for something you didn't pay, regardless of the company eating the shipping price or not.

Of course you do, just as I have to pay import duties on both a review unit's value and shipping cost, even though I paid for neither.
649  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain give false? on: December 30, 2015, 11:01:10 PM
I paid $ 430 including shipping

It is simply not possible., that you paid $ 430 including shipping.

And even if he was, the courier declares the actual / tariff shipping charge and not the $10 he was actually charged.

You people need to stop entertaining newbie accounts.  If they don't post from their main account, they don't stand behind their words.

That should apply for everything really.
652  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury: "16nm... sales to public start shortly" on: December 28, 2015, 10:13:42 PM
Was a fun hobby while it lasted. Saving a shit-tonne of $$$ on electricity per month since quitting is kinda nice...

Well the most important aspect of mining as a hobby is to at least pay the electricity. If you were paying from your pocket then you were doing it wrong. So I wouldn't call it saving Smiley

That's what I was thinking, if you feel relief after stopping mining then you were doing it wrong.
653  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Support Problems on: December 28, 2015, 08:37:52 PM
Some people don't actually want a solution, just want to complain. New Janet asked me to PM them to email in because bitcointalk.org is blocked by the firewall in China. The response I got was

I wrote, it is useless, they are crooks. Many are beginning to understand it

So tldr he emailed, didn't get the response he wanted = no news.
654  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: About the BlackArrow Compensation for X1/X3 customers : Prospero X36 on: December 27, 2015, 03:29:38 PM
Also what about orders that came through resellers like Minersource and were never filled?

Gone to nothing, as is the needless risk you take with resellers.

This is an emergency situation

getting back the money is the last hope I have for saving my house

I have access to some really good lawyers

If you don't have money to pay your bills then stop spending it on lawyers #justspondooliesthings.
There is a fairly good chance that this person is an alt of TF.....

How do you know that  Grin?

if you had /and used a lot of alt-account it doesn't mean you can 'spot' the others.

I don't know who it is but its probably a troll.

1. Claims to have an immediate financial need in order to prevent defaulting his mortgage
2. Then wants to pay for a lawyer to sue TF
3. Then the lawyer is his uncle who will presumably work for free
4. But that uncle is too tight just to help him with his mortgage
5. And once he 'finds' TF he will complete a 2-3 year legal case in ...  a week.
656  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitfury ASIC sales in EU and Europe on: December 26, 2015, 10:18:28 PM
Actualy the problem for centralization are large mines in China
They do not look longtime . Mining for them is just USD income , same would be with manufacturing condoms

More unfounded racism. The American companies all abandoned us, the European companies all abandoned us and who is left? China, 2x. We could have been in the situation where there was no access to ASICs for the average Joe what so ever but instead they continued to sell to us.

Alright. Problem 1 solved.. Corrupt SD card. Go figure.... Next problem is what command to use? Its not /start x or root or boot.

You're not making a Raspberry Pi that runs a miner, you're forgetting its a Pi and running a miner. That means there probably is no front end if you plug it into a monitor. If you've got to this stage then you can refollow the instructions in the OP of this guide to connect to it and start mining.
660  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: December 24, 2015, 09:34:46 AM
First off GW is right here.
People Hate what they Don't understand. What People don't understand they Fear.

" People Understand what they Hate it "
You all know at 110 th/s a machine at 28nm tech will cause more of a Network hash rate spike the miner you buy now and have will be useless in 6 to 7 months because the next get 16nm tech will be 200 to 300th per miner maybe even 500th per miner.

" People Fear what they Hate "
You Fear this because it leave you out in the Cold. News Flash everyone " Home mining is DEAD. "

Shareholders be shareholding. I think that's where BFL went wrong, they could have IPOed to chain up some fanboys.
