1  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SaveToken - Plagiarized Whitepaper on: December 10, 2019, 06:57:44 PM
Would like to clarify a few things. tvplus006 is referring only to the legal disclaimer part of our whitepaper, our content and ideas are all completely from scratch.

We were given advice that our legal disclaimer would be perfectly acceptable, based mainly on similar/the same use of legal disclaimers by other projects such as TenX as shown in the first few pages of their whitepaper here (https://downloads.ctfassets.net/xecblntwky6m/5sWzq3FOoMiWuiQ0i8gKCG/84d359acabe7bb1ef3d1c1252c82828a/tenx_whitepaper_final.pdf). As can be seen, they have employed an almost identical format.

I would greatly appreciate a response from him on this thread, since an attempt to contact him privately has been met with no response.

We would like to reinforce that we are open to any suggestions that could help improve the project.

UPDATE: We have spoken to multiple lawyers and they have all approved the legal disclaimer, meaning tvplus006's claims are simply incorrect.

2  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Savetoken - Plagiarized Whitepaper on: December 09, 2019, 10:31:30 AM
...but savetoken has legal advisor so i think they can rectify it fast. should not be copied word for word and changing only the name of the project.
It's good that savetoken has a legal advisor. He will be able to explain to the team what plagiarism is and the rules of using other people's documents in their work.

Hi, this is Rockie1234/Partha M, the co-founder of SaveToken. I have written all of the whitepaper except for the legal terms which have been highlighted here.
Upon consultation with members of the SaveToken team, as well as legal advisors, the legal disclaimer we have used on our whitepaper is perfectly acceptable and legal. However, we are not allowed for legal reasons to remove or even edit that section.
I hope this note can avoid future confusion and misunderstandings with regard to the disclaimer section of our whitepaper.

However, we are glad that the opportunity to solve and clarify any inconveniences and misunderstandings about our whitepaper was given to us by the bitcointalk community.

UPDATE: We have spoken to multiple lawyers and they have all approved the legal disclaimer, meaning tvplus006's claims are simply incorrect.

This significant bonus on top of the tokens are going to be the downfall of the project and just like the previous tokens that's now dead, this project will also face to issue of whether to distribute the bounty tokens or not. But the real question the team ask themselves after the IEO is to do an exit scam or not.

Why are you not posting the link of your project for this at least people can examine if this is a scam or not.

I have on the first post at the end. (savetoken.us)

Okay I am sorry, I did not mean to offend you personally, I am serious... but do you think your sales thread/pitch is attractive to potential buyers? Well, it is not...
Are you a potential investor or a buyer?  It's totally appropriate to conduct a "secret" round of investments for the potential investors as they invest big and they have a team of people to investigate the legitimacy of projects. I used to work for such an investor where my job role was to check the GitHub account activity of the project repo.

@OP: You should try looking out for such investors through linkedIn or find services that give you the potential investor data with their consent. I'm not sure you'd find the venture capitalists through this forum. Not that I have come across.

Thanks for your input, we definitely will follow your suggestion.

Hello,
We are creating a cryptocurrency project with an incredibly innovative set of ideas. Furthermore, our project is now approaching its first round IEO on an exchange, and is complete with a high quality website, whitepaper and team.

We are looking to sell some tokens before the IEO stage begins, so that we can do some marketing to increase project awareness and to start the rewarding process of building a long-lasting community. This will include SEO work, sponsored content on third-party websites and possibly a bitcointalk signature campaign.

To interested investors, we can offer a significant bonus on top of the tokens purchased, making it worth your while to purchase now instead of waiting for an IEO. If you wish to know more, contact me here via PM or send me a message on Telegram @Rockie1234
Feel free to ask us any questions you may have, and rest assured that escrow can be used if you so desire.

Thanks for your time.

Sorry man... But especially these days, why would anyone invest in a so called "cryptocurrency project"? If your project is now approaching IEO, why dont you tell us the name of your project? Or is this "top-secret" so we investors make more money than we would do with your great project anyway?

Sorry, dont want to be rude or so but I really dont understand how someone - in case we are talking about a serious business - would make such a post... And whats worse... I guess there are always newbies who fall for something like this.

I cannot wait to learn more details about your incredibly innovative project - please enlighten us!

I think it unreasonable to jump to conclusions and be as disrespectful as you have been in such a short, sarcastic post.
The project can be seen at Savetoken.us, and you can look at our whitepaper.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How important is the name of a cryptocurrency project? on: September 11, 2019, 03:32:27 PM
Just wanted to get your thoughts on this matter. Can the name of a project provide significant benefit or detriment to a project if it is appropriate/unappropriate or unattractive/attractive -sounding?
I am not sure how much of an impact it has.
8  Economy / Services / Distributing a survey on: September 09, 2019, 12:09:11 PM
Hello,
We are in the process of distributing a survey online to our target audience. My question to you guys is how this can be done? The natural first step was finding forums for those from this target audience and posting our survey there, but are there any alternate methods we could benefit from?

If you wish to know more details, send me a PM here or on Telegram @Rockie1234

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Non-profit ICOs/IEOs on: August 10, 2019, 08:59:04 AM
long time ago in bitcointalk forum, there are 'crowdfunding'. you can't call it 'ICO/IEO' etc, it should be crowdfunding. why? cause the organisation didn't give profit, and non-profit organisation didn't have any investor, only donator that spent their money.
but, under non-profit organisation, possible to build a company or something like that, with that you can do 'ICO/IEO'.

back to crypto, what you will do with your 'currencies'? what you want to do with blockchain in your organisation? can you explain about usecase of the blockchain in organisation?

The currency will be a way for investors to make money, since it represents the value of the project.
11  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Advice on our survey/questionnaire on: August 07, 2019, 05:08:47 PM
You have not posted anything relevant and this makes people unable to help you.

We do have our set of questions ready for anyone who is interested in helping us.

why don't you post here these questions? This is a forum that has many members and if you are creating something related to bitcoin, wouldn't it be more beneficial if you post the questions in this thread? this brings more transparency and creates a discussion of ideias

People need to contact us privately, the survey gives away the project ideas etc, we don't want that.

We do have our set of questions ready for anyone who is interested in helping us. We also would appreciate insight into research methods (same questionnaire to everyone or different ones to different people?)
14  Bitcoin / Project Development / Advice on our survey/questionnaire on: August 05, 2019, 09:55:24 AM
We are building a cryptocurrency-related project in the near future, and so we need information and opinions from our target audience which we will obtain via a survey. We want this survey to ask the right questions and be designed well, which is why we ask for anyone who can help to send a PM to me here or via Telegram @Rockie1234. We have some questions but we would greatly appreciate some further instinct.

We are also happy to discuss with you details of the project if these will help.
Questions have already been prepared and we want feedback on if they are good enough, as well as any research methods/different questions you can suggest.

Payment can be given provided some professional insight is given from those with research/marketing experience.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How exactly does Tether work? on: July 28, 2019, 10:46:04 AM
Let's say there's a big bear market and everyone is selling their Tethers on an exchange like Bitfinex. I understand it is pegged to the dollar, but what happens if the price of Tether goes too high or too low above/below $1? Is there some mechanism that corrects the situation?
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Multiple Round ICOs? on: July 27, 2019, 09:04:40 PM
Have you heard of ICOs with multiple rounds? Like they raise a certain amount of money now, use that money for primary aims and goals, and then a few months/years down the line (as part of their original plan) launch a second round to fund additional goals and further project development? Just wondering if this is a thing, if so please provide me with some links to projects that have done so.
Yes, it is pretty normal. They offer cheap tokens at the beginning and gradually increase the price of the token in each round (to attract early investors).  Smiley

I don't mean like a pre-ICO followed by a main one. What I mean is an ICO, then a period of developing and spending the money, and then later on in the project doing another ICO (but this is the part of the plan, not out of desperation).

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Non-profit ICOs/IEOs on: July 24, 2019, 04:42:18 PM
Let's say hypothetically I were to make a non-profit ICO tomorrow. The idea is good, the money will be spent well and the team is solid, with plans to fund the creation of products and funding of external organisations in an altruistic sense. Revenues would come from membership of the organisation and selling of a few products, with all money reinvested or saved.

Would you be prepared to invest in a project like this as opposed to one that makes profit/is a company? And what role could the project's cryptocurrency play in such a situation? Should such a group be a DAO?

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Better invest in charitable foundation than in non profit iCO i guess

That is what I mean, wages paid, non-profit was probably the wrong wording.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Non-profit ICOs/IEOs on: July 24, 2019, 04:25:07 PM
Investors only want were they can put their funds and see profit. Non-profit organisation is good and I know there are still selfless investors out there who would love to invest. But the whole point in cryptocurrency is profit for investment, so I think it will be difficulty getting investors for a non-profit company.

I agree with you to a certain extent. But let's assume the price of the coin reflects the success of the project, so if the project is successful investors make profit. Is this appealing enough, or does there need to be some other function/use case of the currency?
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Non-profit ICOs/IEOs on: July 24, 2019, 04:17:52 PM
We have too many fraud projects in crypto world lately,i can't advice you to just rely on the teams because they are real, you need more than that,do intense research on the project and make sure they aren't just after profits

Don't worry, working on it!
Such a project, depending on its focus(what the project intends to achieve, develop, or what services it wants to render) has every likelihood to succeed since the resources(realised funds) will be focused on development, payments and other expenses relevant to the project. However, there are other important factors that I need to  consider before investing in any project. First is the projects goals, team(experience/legitimacy), its startup capital if any, investors(venture capitals), difference in prices across the various stages of the IEO/ICO exercise, partnerships etc. We can't always get it all but these tend to keep me safe.

I'd like to know more about your ' hypothetical' project though. Maybe we could make it real Wink

Sent you a PM. Venture capital is one of those things that would always help.
