381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make governments accept bitcoin? on: April 19, 2017, 04:11:49 PM
Government wont accept it, one of the main reasons why bitcoin is so hard to become legalized it's because of it's anonymity.
Government's cant track the sources of it's income so they cant implement taxes to a bitcoin users
Will for me bitcoin is fine the way it is and i can spend it the way i want.

I agree with you. The government will never take bitcoin. This could lead to the collapse of the economy. This solution is especially dangerous for countries with a weak economic system
yes you are right that the government will never adopt bitcoin because bitcoin is not know by all the people as illiterate people of a country does not know about bitcoin they only know fiat that is why first bitcoin will need to introduce to all the the people then there is possibility that bitcoin will accept by government.

On the contrary, I think the government will likely accept bitcoin. However, they will just accept bitcoin as a mode of payment and not as an official currency. Fiat will still be the major money that will be circulated in the economy. We cannot force government to accept bitcoin and also, the government cannot force their countrymen in using bitcoin since not all people are capable in doing so.

I agree with you that Bitcoin can be a part of the economy but not embraced as the major one and the fact is that government can't govern Bitcoin hence it is still impossible but if they manage to find a way to govern it then Bitcoin's possibility to be use as their national currency will be probable though fiat is tough to deal with, with its influence with the culture up to the face of the authority of the government in its citizens.

I cannot see any way that the government can actually govern bitcoin. Bitcoin is decentralized, anywhere in this world has bitcoin (by anywhere I mean anywhere with internet access) so how come that a government of a specific country could govern bitcoin. Another, bitcoin is anonymous, how can the government track its citizens if they cannot identify who has bitcoin or who uses bitcoin. I know it's a big IF but I would like to hear ideas on how the government will govern bitcoin.
382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SAUDI Bitcoin Trading on LocalBitcoins TO THE MOON on: April 19, 2017, 03:58:08 PM
Bitcoin trading volumes in Saudi Arabia via peer-to-peer trading platform LocalBitcoins have never been higher. For the first time, trading volumes topped USD $100k in bitcoin traded over a week through the decentralized platform. According to data from Coin.Dance, trading volumes last week soared nearly 3x compared to the previous week, with over SAR400,000 in bitcoin traded during the week ending on April 15, a new all-time high.

More details below:

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/saudi-bitcoin-localbitcoins-all-time-high/

Do you agree that Bitcoin will become popular in the Middle East soon?

Having high trading volume, there is no doubt that bitcoin will become popular in the middle east sooner or later. Though the amount was not yet that big, this indicates that Saudi Arabia is beginning to fully accept the bitcoin technology, and it will take only a matter of time for its fame to burst throughout the middle east.

Having these type of news is so promising. We can clearly see how bitcoin's popularity had become in the past years. It would seem that we hear news about bitcoin left and right mostly every week.  I think that it will not take too long for bitcoin to become famous worldwide.
383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is BTC for you? on: April 19, 2017, 03:45:49 PM
Bitcoin gave me the opportunity to earn while waiting for me to finish my degree. Bitcoin has been helping me in saving money for the future. I have high hopes for bitcoin. Add the fact that bitcoin's value is heading upward, we cannot deny that having bitcoin now is a good decision. I just hope that earning bitcoin today will be beneficial to me in the near future.
384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: if someday the network internet totally dead . on: April 18, 2017, 08:26:22 PM
if the whole internet goes down then i am afraid the full bitcoin network will be dead as there is no definate server there to keep it alive. and lets suppose if it serviced the crash then also it will be very very week during the first minutes of startup and anyone can attack the bitcoin network at that minute. by the way if bitcoin goes down then we only have faint currency left on the market

May I ask in what particular aspect in the bitcoin network will these attackers will attack? I am not a technical person about these type of events so my curiosity was just triggered.

As a decentralized cryptocurrency, it only needs internet in order for it to exist. So if this internet being dead, bitcoin will obviously freeze. When the internet is restored, even in just areas, bitcoin will be up and running again right. How come that bitcoin will be weak from the first minute of startup knowing that bitcoin is decentralized and no server to be attacked?

389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make governments accept bitcoin? on: April 16, 2017, 02:38:51 PM
Well as of now based on my understanding bitcoin is not consider an illegal gaming site or trading sites etc so thre is no guarantee that i can give an exact answer when it regards to the topic but as far as i know until nobody is/are complaining about bitcoin it can be consider being accepted by the government.

Since when bitcoin became a gaming site or a trading site? Bitcoin is just used in those particular sites. Bitcoin is just like money in its own ways.

Complaining about bitcoin in what particular aspect? Come to think  of it, why would anyone complain about bitcoin? Did anyone complained about fiat? What is the sense of complaining then?
390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin money? on: April 16, 2017, 02:15:14 PM
Bitcoin is not money, it's just a virtual currency that is not backed up by anything but users. In a short time he managed to develop very well, but the future is in doubt.

Here is the definition of "currency"

Quote
A currency in the most specific use of the word refers to money in any form when in actual use or circulation as a medium of exchange, especially circulating banknotes and coins. A more general definition is that a currency is a system of money (monetary units) in common use

Bitcoin is a  crypto currency using cryptography, the difference is bitcoin use decentralized control while others tradtionnaly are centralized electronic money

You had it all wrong! Currency and money are just often used interchangeably, but they are not the same at all. Based from your quote "...A more general definition is that a currency is a system of money (monetary units) in common use" clearly state that currency is a system of money and not the actual money itself.
391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Daily use of bitcoin? on: April 16, 2017, 01:42:03 PM
Hi friends,

As far as I know, bitcoin payments take a little time to approve. Will these approval times make it difficult to use bitcoin in our daily lives?
For example, I would get a coffee from Starbucks. Do I have to wait for approval to pay for what I have done for hours?

Patience is a virtue my friend , we should be gratefull sometimes that we are earning bitcoins for free or we can earn it with our freetime without any difficulty. We should learn to be patient buddy.

Even if you have patience, bitcoin's transaction confirmation still take time to be confirmed. As for the scenario "...get a coffee from Starbucks...", using bitcoin is impractical and it is indeed difficult to use bitcoin in a daily basis. Well if you have all the time in the world then your patience will come in handy. But let's be practical here, who would wait for an hour just to pay for a coffee which I think before you can pay for it, you already finished drinking it minutes ago (30 minutes or so). Fiat is still practical for this type of transaction.
392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if all nations of the world started to use bitcoin on: April 16, 2017, 11:36:59 AM
What would be a beginning for a better world. The economy would be more stable and the price of BTC would be too. And it wouldn't  be easy for someone to steal money because the system would be way more safe. And everyone will know that there are only 21M btc to use, and this is a way for nobody to ''make'' more money.
to me i think that is the future of bitcoin. although it will take such long time as still only 1 % people of the world are using bitcoin but we can see that the users of bitcoin are continuously increasing.
The population of bitcoin users are now keep increasing, you are right that 1% of the people in the world or more use bitcoin as of now and it will continue to rise if we will just keep being active in this forum and any bitcoin community site and also keep promoting bitcoin until its popularity will be enough for bitcoin to stand alone and keep growing.

Seriously? 1% of the total population in the world is using bitcoin? The total number of bitcoin users is so much far from the 1% you are saying. What do you think is the 1% of the world's population? There are more than 7 Billion people in this world and the 1% of 7Billion is 70 million. The number of bitcoin user is not even near 10 million so from where did you get that statistics of yours?

Yes. Users bitcoin is much more. For all of its existence, it has gained popularity with many people.

I think you clearly did not understand that discussion. jc89 there claims that the number of bitcoin users is less than 1% of the total population and now you claim that the number of bitcoin users is more than that. And your reply was even out of the discussion. What gives man?
393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how strong is bitcoin really? on: April 16, 2017, 11:27:22 AM
How strong in what aspect? If by currency I can say that bitcoins is starting to having a stronger impact on the economy of the world since it is already a legitimate and an alternative ways to send payments. As to its protection and safety that is where bitcoin shows one of its weakness since it is digitalized it is prone to hacker compared to physical cash that you can hold on and protect yourself.

I suggest you to read first the opening or the first post before asking such question. The OP is clear on his part that he is pertaining to the strength of bitcoin from hackers and not as a currency. On the other hand, I agree that bitcoin will always be prone from hackers because it is a system. It contains codes and algorithm which is the specialty of hackers.

395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: YO-EX ---- FAST, RESPONSIVE AND FEATURE PACKED EXCHANGE. on: April 15, 2017, 09:03:51 PM
hmmm.. sometime when i open the website is little laggy ? or just my internet connection? But my ping is 25ms so i think normal. On another website normal...

The website uses lots of plugins but it should be run smoothly even on an average platform specifications.

But since you told us that feedback, I suggest to the devs/owners, if possible, to provide a mobile/lite version of this exchange. In this way, people that away on their desk can lightly accessed the website even they will use their resepective native browser. It can also save bandwidth for those mobile users resulting for much speed when accessing the site.

Ah okay got it. Yeah maybe mobile/lite version will be good. hope they will add it as soon as possible
I think it would be possible since almost all exchange site are available in mobile since this site is new they are on level of adjustments.

I think it's a must to be accessible in mobile since almost all uses smartphone. Having Yo-Ex accessible to smartphone is indeed beneficial to its clients.
396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, Crimes, and Terrorism on: April 15, 2017, 06:57:24 PM
Yes, There are multiple cases in which Bitcoins can be used illegally. Bitcoins bring with it, a notion of anonymity which allows people to transact without revealing their identity. This privilege can be highly misused. However all exchanges in the world mostly are following Anti Money Laundering and Know your customer Policy to avoid any illegal activity by any user of Bitcoins.

Anonymous is the biggest bitcoin problem and very serious thing that must be immediately resolved, it's time to wallet provider verifying bitcoin user identity, so if there are problems of course can be accountable.

How come that anonymity is a problem? This is a characteristic of bitcoin and others are just using it negatively. Some wallet providers already had that kind of feature. They are requiring for a government-issued ID (a picture of that ID), even they require the wallet user to take a selfie for verification, as well as verifying email and cellphone numbers. These type of wallet is already existing.
397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make governments accept bitcoin? on: April 15, 2017, 06:46:58 PM
yes anonymity is an great issue for what government is not accepting bitcoin but it is not the only reason out there. I think government will accept is or has to when people can use it flawlessly that means people should not get scammed or the whole country face any disaster because of  this new monetary system that can case a huge panic and that's why government is not letting it to start

Especially on democratic/republican state or country where the power rests in the hand of the people. As long as the majority of people in a particular country would want to legalize bitcoin, the government has to accept it. Well I think that the government should not wait for that scenario. Just accept bitcoin and utilize its capability and use it to become the government's advantage.
398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if all nations of the world started to use bitcoin on: April 15, 2017, 06:19:29 PM
What will happened if every country started to use bitcoin. Is the current supply of bitcoin and blockchain capacity can handle every bitcoin user?

Thanks in advance.

I think it will cause very high amount of traffic for blockchain, and probably it will cause many issues, like getting so many transactions unconfirmed, and the transactions fees will increase as well.

That is exactly what is happening currently. To think that only a small portion of the world's population is using bitcoin for transactions, what more if the whole world uses bitcoin. I'm afraid that the current system that handles every transaction is very far from being capable of handling a massive number of transactions. This needs a lot of improvements and attention.
