Anyone else had trouble logging on to the board for extended periods the last couple of days? Hours at a time when it will time out.

Yeah, timing out trying to connect.
82  Economy / Services / Re: Bounty for Cracking Bitmain S9 BMminer on: September 02, 2016, 01:37:34 PM
High CPU usage?! This looks normal atm.
S9 uses a more powerful controller than the old hardware if I'm not mistaken.
The S9 uses an Altera Cyclone V SOC.  This is a dual arm a9 hard core processor so yes, it has tons of CPU power for what it is doing. Smiley
83  Economy / Services / Re: Bounty for Cracking Bitmain S9 BMminer on: September 01, 2016, 11:14:45 PM
But to begin with, the intention of this Bounty is to make a complete open CGminer v. 4.9.2 according to the GPLv3 license.
That means that we are loyal to the work done by other community members and their hard work. First goal is to keep the miner GUI as is, but replace the BMMiner crap with CGminer 4.9.2, so if you can bring something to the table, please do !
i understand but the question is who will receive bounty?
for example: two ppl completed the task, what criteria would be used to select the winner?
Or the criteria in general to issue the bounty.  Can we agree on a clear list of criteria that when met, the bounty will be paid.  For example:
  • Open source, meeting all GPL requirements.
  • Directly part of the main trunk (like the older bitmain support)
  • Easy install/remove scripts/instructions.
Feel free to add to the list (or remove items).  This list is my vote for what its worth. Smiley

Love to see this happening for all the reasons listed in this thread.  Definitely want to see this working as part of the main cgminer trunk rather than only on a fork.

I have both a batch 9 and batch 13 S9 that I might be able to help test with.  They are hosted so it depends on what the update and testing process will involve since I only have remote access to the web interface.

Willing to put my money where my mouth is so I sent 0.25 BTC to the escrow account:

And this is exactly why my mining power (albeit small) is pointed at this pool!!    Thanks again to Kano!!!

+1

Edit:  I was waiting until the R4 became available about 5 minutes ago...and holy crap!  8.6TH for $1395 USD!  Angry  I'm putting my KeepKey back in the safe...

You too can buy 66.7% of the hash rate for 87.2% of the price. Smiley  Or not!

Comparing R4 to S9 - I assume they are truly trying to hit the home market that can't support an S9.

Hi Guys,
I have been mining here since Jan 2016 and the results is great, the reward always more than mining calculator result in long term.
And I want to add more power to my mining but my electricity and room is limited, so I looking a good hosting do you guys have any recommendation?
I have read good feedback here about http://www.cryptoboreas.com have anyone here personally hosting there?
Thanks guys, sorry for my bad english...

P.S : More block please : )
Just moved my antminers to Toomim Brothers.  Very impressed with Jonathon with both his technical capabilities and his quick responses.  My second S9 is getting delivered there on Monday. Smiley

Personally I wish the block statistics was based on the current time, not the last block time.

For example, right now, it says we got 5 blocks in 6.7 hrs which looks great and is nice shiny green.  But it hides the fact we haven't really had a block for 14 hrs and it has been over 20 hrs since that 5th block was mined. Sad

Meh. An unhealthy obsession with short-term statistics is a frustrating game. Are you going to pool hop based on 1 or 5 day luck?

Was great when we were up 108% or so long-term, for sure, but I've not seen evidence of a change in policy/practice/management that makes me think that something is fundamentally different and now wrong with the pool.

Steady on...

I don't believe there is anything there is indicate an unhealthy obsession with short term statistics or pool hopping.  I simply made a comment that I felt that the current displayed statistics could be improved if they were based on the current time rather than the time the last block was found.  You are certainly free to express your own opinion.

13 hrs later, it may be time for you to leave the house again.  Grin

We have a wall of acclaim, perhaps we should have a wall of shame for longest timespans between blocks  Grin

It seems that every time I go out of the house tonight we hit multiple blocks!  Maybe I'll have to remember that the next time we need a block!

This is a good start with 2 blocks within the first 37 minutes of the new day!  Cheesy Cheesy

13 hrs later, it may be time for you to leave the house again.  Grin

Just tried to connect to the Curecoin pool with a couple miners and both report it dead.  Can someone check to see if they can connect?

Forget it - operator error.  Working now. Smiley

The web issue is that the API is set by Bitmain to allow ANYONE with web access to your miner to change it.
They set it to W:0/0

At WORST it should be R:0/0,W:HomeNetwork/24 e.g. something like R:0/0,W:192.168.0.0/24

Where do you set it? I've no idea - they've ignored my suggestions to fix this and told me that the setup is what is easiest for Bitmain farms - yes they said that. i.e. they don't care about "your" miner security in the default setup.

For what it is worth, it is in /config/bmminer.conf
