41  Economy / Economics / Re: GBA TO LAUNCH FIRST ROBOCOIN BITCOIN ATM IN THE U.K on: January 24, 2014, 03:58:20 PM
Does anyone wonder if the various countries' tax authorities might start surveillance of these ATMs? Sounds ultra paranoid, but what if they get (more) desperate? is it against the law to purchase BTC whilst wearing a Guy Fawkes mask?
42  Economy / Speculation / Re: Regards to Argentinian crisis - why isn't Btc skyrocketing? on: January 24, 2014, 03:52:54 PM
If I were there, I'd probably be mining Dogecoin. And maybe exchanging it for BTC. Or not...
43  Economy / Economics / Re: America's secret currency better than Bitcoin ??? on: January 23, 2014, 02:50:40 PM
Yep, nothing like that feeling you get when you're walking through Customs at the airport with a GAZILLION gold coins in your carry-on. "Yesh, Offisher, they are fishing weights, why do you ask?"
44  Economy / Economics / Re: America's secret currency better than Bitcoin on: January 23, 2014, 02:38:36 PM
It's just (yawn) collectible gold coins. Apparently they have a 20 year annual rate of return of 17.3%. wow, such gain, very valuation.
45  Economy / Economics / Re: Buy now or wait ? $41,000 to invest in bitcoins and litecoins on: January 23, 2014, 12:21:13 AM
I never seem to remember what this is called, but what you do is;

You buy in at fixed dates with fixed amounts over a period of time. For example you can buy in at the 1st and 15th of every month, 500$ each time. 1000$ a week for ten weeks. The important thing is that you stick to the plan buy in every time, no matter what the price is. The average price per BTC is usually lower than if you go all in. And you don't run the risk of "losing" 4000$ in one night.

I wish I remembered the name of the strategy so I could link it here, it is a good read.

Dollar Cost Averaging. I like it, but some on this forum have Poo-Pooed it. The OP must make his own decision - It's his money.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Free dogecoins! on: January 21, 2014, 03:41:22 PM
Humans, I mean SHIBES, are actually USING Dogecoins, not just hoarding them. It's fun to tip people, I mean SHIBES!

Translation: very tips, such funs, so usefulling! Plus: Thanks!

...I have been twice to the Robocoin machine in Vancouver and if over 1k Canadian dollars you need to put in i.d and be scanned like you do at airports lol. Smiley

What's to prevent someone from doing multiple transactions of less than 1K Cdn to avoid "documentation"?

I don't know all the protocols off hand in place but there are people operating the ATM in the Cafe so it's gonna be obvious if the same peep comes to try get money in or out.. All I know is the Machine is compatible with Federal laws in each country like the Machines to be deployed in the U.K are fully compliant and FCA approved. Smiley

Thanks for the information.

People new to cryptos should be able to get enough to satisfy their curiosity. This is a good thing, widespread adoption has to start somewhere. Though I wonder if the operators of the ATM would do anything to prevent clients from making multiple buys? Don't think they're law bound to do so.

Good to see the proliferation of these machines. Has anyone done a count of just how many there are? Of course, that number seems to be changing daily.
49  Economy / Economics / Re: Long-term statistics on coin rates on: January 21, 2014, 12:30:56 AM
If by long term you mean less than 24 hrs, LOL: https://bitcoinaverage.com/#CAD
edit: Actually you can get longer term charts at most sites, just look around. I really like bitcoinaverage, as it is very clean, and understandable at a glance.

Here’s some more:

Hope to find some more. Anyone?

51  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will be 10k+ Q1 2014. on: January 21, 2014, 12:15:21 AM
I have also made some calculations but I come closer to $23000:

1000*23= 23000  Grin

LOL! Although I'd rather it didn't happen until after the FBI has sold all of its coins! Irony ftw!
52  Economy / Economics / Re: New Idea to invest my $41,000 dollars - Litecoins to convert in Bitcoins on: January 20, 2014, 11:55:46 PM
Actually, I am guessing that if a merchant took BTC, it probably wouldn't be hard to add LTC functionality to it as well. That being said, I really don't know of many places that take LTC, not that I have looked. Sorry, gotmilk_ if I implied that LTC was not a worthy investment. I really don't know much about it, nor do I own any. Point.

You do misunderstand my intentions for posting. I certainly would not advise the OP to buy Dogecoin at today's price. I expect it to fall soon! But, heh, no guarantees! People seem to be excited about the Doge. Because, you know, cute!

As far as investments go, based on eventual number of coins go, one might expect a BTC:LTC:DOGE
ratio of roughly 1:4:5000 eventual price. ASSUMING equal market caps. A big assumption! Then you have to figure in the probability of the coin's survival...

YOU CAN NOT SAY TO PEOPLE TO INVEST SO MUCH MONEY IN A COIN WHICH EXSISTS ONLY 3 MONTHS NOW.

Well, no. I hope I didn't imply that he should do so. Especially at current prices. I sure wouldn't.

On the other side... you just have to much of shity dogecoin and you want to sell quick before it goes to history. Right? Even btc-e doesn't want to add it.

LOL! I actually don't want him to buy any right now, because I want the price to decline, so I can buy some more! Well, I'm not sure how much $41K would move the market. I guess not too much, but still...

So you have activity 148...

Glad you brought that up. I've wondered about that stat for a while now. What does that even mean?

53  Economy / Economics / Re: New Idea to invest my $41,000 dollars - Litecoins to convert in Bitcoins on: January 20, 2014, 10:27:49 PM
In terms of dollarized transaction volume, Dogecoin has become the number 2 crypto behind Bitcoin. Around $9M, while LTC is around $7M. It has gone up relative to BTC about 3X, iirc.

Personally I have never seen any reason to get into LTC. Is it even used anywhere? At least BTC CAN be used, although since most people only hoard it, that point is sort of moot. Dogecoin, otoh, is being used extensively, as a CURRENCY should be.

If, Dog forbid, Bitcoin should fail, due to 51% attacks, ASIC centralization, or disuse, and a Scrypt coin takes over, I fail to see why it would be LTC over the mighty Dogecoin. Which, btw, has been in existence for less than two months...

Sorry to get off topic, OP, but I believe in Bitcoin. And I believe in Dogecoin. But Litecoin, not so much.

Also, I know it is fashionable to say that timing is not important, as long as you think the trend is up, but Heck! Look at the charts! Best of luck to you.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest $10,000 into Quark or Dogecoin? on: January 01, 2014, 07:36:26 PM

....is that Dogecoin has been incredibly positive for the cryptocurrency community. Do you realize how many new people Dogecoin has brought into the market? We have people who have never given cryptocurrencies a second thought before lining up to buy Dogecoin. Many of these people will get involved with other cryptocurrencies as well, which is beneficial to the entire community.

I think with its $10,000,000 market cap, it's past the point where we can consider it a brilliant marketing gimmick or an experiment. It's spreading like wildfire throughout social media, the news, and even in person. I go to local bitcoin meetups regularly and it's all people are talking about.

I guess we'll just have to see. It's certainly possible that at some point Dogecoin will go out of style or fade away, but right now it has the momentum it needs to continue growing at an exponential rate.

...This is very true. Majority of people want something they can easily relate to. Like their pet.    Anyone in marketing knows that something which looks friendly and fun will reach a larger market than something technical and geeky.

Good branding, an excited community, large quantity rewards makes Dogecoin unique.

Dogecoin will most likely continue to spread like a virus on the Internet and bring many new people into the world of Cryptocurrency.  This alone has merit and should benefit Bitcoin and other Cryptos.

and to quote Wekkel and some guy called flagel8:

I think that Doge will go further than anyone could imagine. Not the value perse the actual use as Internet money...

Agree. You should peruse the Dogecoin Reddit. Very friendly, very helpful. And humans are GLEEFULLY tipping each other in Dogecoin. It's being USED as a currency, something that SOME coins have a strong resistance to.

Remember Napster? Myspace? Netscape?

I believe in Bitcoin. But I could be wrong. I also believe in Dogecoin, and plan to get some.

And on the Dogecoin sub-reddit I found this:

http://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoin/comments/1u2z69/bitcoin_why_not_dogecoin/

Bitcoin ? Why not dogecoin ? by XXXXXXXXxxxxxxxxx

[–XXXXXXXXXXX 1 point 1 day ago

“That's what i thought at first. But I've been trying to get my friends into Bitcoin since I first learned about it. They humor me, but probably roll their eyes a bit whenever the topic comes up.

But yesterday I e-mailed an acquaintance about their dog, who just had an operation, and just because we happened to be on about dogs in general I posted a link to the Dogecoin.com website saying, " Have you heard about this?"

A few hours later she e-mailed me back telling me that she was tracking the Dogecoin price on her tablet... How she got coin, I don't yet know. Maybe a faucet? People WANT this.”

You can talk technical this and that, but at the end of the day, people love this coin, and I have become a huge fan.

anyone here enjoy listening to music in cartoons, like Phineas and Ferb  Cheesy those are pretty good actually

I like quite a bit of anime music. This Opening theme from Haibane Renmei is particularly good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztSVbXekz0Y

And this OP from GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka) is excellent: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=gto%20opening%20theme%20song&sm=1

Thanks, excellent site. More fun than the other faucets, and therefore the ONLY one I frequent. I have referred 2 human friends, and thus my question: When does the referral fee from my slaves friends get paid? The btc i "earn" from my free throws comes on Mondays, but the referral fee just keeps building up (OK, it's great to see but...)? Will it be rolled into my regular payment, or is there a threshold before it is paid too?

Relax. Assuming you sent to the addresses generated by your Electrum wallet, you have no worries. The coins are not actually just in your computer, but are on the blockchain, jargon which means that the data is distributed to every computer in the world which is running the full client. When you solve your computer problems and bring up Electrum, the coins should be there, looking at you cool as a cucumber.
