one year later we back to ICO, just sad
yes, ICN price in BTC approximates the ico price (0.00022) but in USD it is still more than 10 times the ico price (0.123) because so many things have happened meanwhile in the market ! you are right, but in this crazy crypto market, all we want is accumulating more btc, with btc 10x in usd, we basically did nothing a whole year. it is a tricky game. hopefully we are like the early days of btc when you paid 10000 for a pizza. I don't know what can be accomplished in 7 years for ICN comparing to BTC, but it's eternity |

hey guys, spent all afternoon talking with a slack support guy who ultimately did not give me the information I need. I want to access my ANS which are still at the ICO address. Can I use the 'AntsharesApp' web portal to control them? (i.e send some to an exchange?)
hi, man, i got the same issue couple weeks ago, finally figured out the solution. The app is just not working, syncing forever. What you need to do is to install windows version wallet, sync the chain and import your wallet. |

I have a similar issue, although I have claimed the token and send it to a new wallet few months ago. But recently when I want to get the token, it seems none of the web wallets are working.
I have already asked in the antshares slack, but also no one answered. Really frustrated, it can not even implement a proper wallet ..
I am thinking just hodl, maybe few years later they can come up with a light wallet without syncing..

The first buyback is only around 85K ICN's...spread over 90 days.... so they go to buy back around 1000 ICN a day.... that's nothing...That will not effect the market price... For me the decision to go the buyback way is 100% against what I expected and what was promised with ICO. We are owner of the platform, and Iconomi decides to change the basics. That's not fair in my opinion. I want ETH as Dividends... my % of Iconomi would be the same...but I would earn ETH, which in few years is 1000 times more worth than ICN.
The issue with dividends is that tax authorities tax dividend companies in a different way, when you mention dividends it only brings problems. Also this blocks many doors for example the US exchanges because of SEC shit. Also for the holders is better not to be paid dividends because when you declare your taxes and you if you receive dividends you get a higher tax. I think moving away from the dividends thing only brings good things to ICONOMI, first the US market, second less troubles with taxation for both the ICONOMI company and for the holders. See you in Polo soon :-) Everybody with a bit of knowledge of taxes was aware of that. I knew when I entered the ICO that Dividens are taxable. I have no problems to pay tax on my dividends as I would do with normal stocks. Come on guys... it's logic that Dividends are seen as Income and therefore taxable. And Iconomi knew that for sure... for me this is getting a bit strange. issuing an ICO with promises, that they knew they cannot handle it... and if they didn't know it....the team sucks! Sorry to say...this is not fud...I'm just disappointed. You must have already made some profit. Simply sell and move onto something else. I know it is annoying for those that prefer dividends but it's done. It makes business and financial sense. There a lots that would disagree with your opinion but you can't please everyone. Just like with this bitcoin fork debate.... some people will be disappointing by the final choices going forward. I believe the buy back was a necessary change to bring value to ICN an allow Iconomi to bring their product to market much faster. Just because you want dividends doesn't mean the whole project should suffer from it. Think about all of the negatives that have come to light since first coming up with the idea of paying dividends. I agree with you... it's probably the right way to handle a lot of problems they would have with Dividens system. It makes sense business and financial wise. But they knew it before. And this is what disappoints me. The promises made, that they knew it won't happen. However....will sell ...may regret later...but honestly I don't think the buyback will raise the price. I think I will be able soon to buy back much cheaper. Please do, the team will burn more, thanks for doing that! |

So I've decided to share my reasons for being extremely happy with the announcement today:
A Dummies Guide To Implications of Today's Announcement1. Imagine this: For the next 100 years, a portion of Iconomi's revenue will be directly and continually INJECTED into the ICN Market. It means that ICN is pretty much the first cryptocurrency in the market with a guaranteed value -- The guaranteed value is equivalent to the portion of profit being injected into the ICN Market through the buyback program, and is proportional to the Iconomi's Revenue. To put it simply, assume the total revenue of Iconomi platform in the next 10 years is 1 billion USD, and 10% of that is put into the buyback program, it means ICN will have a guaranteed Market Cap of $100,000,000 USD (sky is really the limit here).2. ICN will be the very first malicious-dumper-proofed and FUD-proofed Cryptocurrency in existence. Don't forget that a portion of Iconomi's revenue will be continually injected into the ICN market. So any ICN priced lower than the fair valuation will automatically be removed from the market, to every investor's advantage. A very simple example: If someone owns 10% of Amazon shares, what's preventing this individual from dumping the shares all at once and buy back at a much lower price? The answer is Amazon's $5 billion USD stocks backbuy initiative. As soon as the stock price drops below its fair valuation, it will get scooped up in anticipation of a future stock buyback. 3. Not only that Iconomi's revenue will be continually injected into ICN market, ICN will also be removed from the market at a constant rate to make ICN more and more scarce. So the 2 things combined will make ICN extremely valuable - A portion of profit being injected into ICN market on a weekly basis, Removal of ICN tokens from market to make it more scarce, which translates into the following: ICN will continue to be bought back until 1) All the ICNs are gone from the market, 2) Each ICN is worth $1000 dollars (or more). 4. ICN is truly the first crypto that rewards an investor for holding it long-term: ICN's market cap is guaranteed to grow larger as time goes by. An investor of ICN is guaranteed of the following: the longer you hold, the more valuable your holding will become - because your holding's value is always proportional to Iconomi's revenue and portion of profit injected into the market. Can any other Crypto make this kind of guarantee?  My take on today's announcement is this: ICN will have a guaranteed market cap equivalent to the portion of profit being injected into the market. It doesn't matter whether someone wants to maliciously push the price lower, or whether there is any demand, ICN's price and market cap will always bounce back to its fair valuation, and it's guaranteed!!!!PS: I just wanna thank Jani and Team for taking this initiative. You guys really have the investors' best interest in mind. And I'm very happy to be part of Iconomi! BRAVO !!! |

I am a first day ICO investor and beta tester. I am really satisfied of the ICNX trading experience, easy and fast. They recently added KYC feature to the platform to prepare the launch. Personally I think it's a smart move, it will avoid tons of potential legal issues. I also have some issue with cell phone verification, after exchanging several emails, they solved my issue in a very effective way. I have no doubt on the capability of the team. They really did a great job so far.
Price wise, we are pretty stable around 0.3 USD and it's only 6 months, I am confident that we will be a unicorn crypto some day. We are still in the early stage and ICN needs to distribute more evenly throughout the year. As a long time investor, I am not worried at all, our day will come. We will be like ether, dash or even BTC today, what we need is the patient to develop the product and business.
did they mention any info about final release date ? I think they mentioned end of Q1. They are busy with tweaking functionalities and interfaces. |
