I spend each month on buying btc but the price goes up and i never get closer to owning one btc
The value i hold does go up and has been going up so i am not complaining but the arbitrary amount of one btc seems like it is getting further away. Owning a full coin is already out of reach for so many people less fortunate than myself

Not even millionaires can own 1 bitcoin: There are 33 million millionaires on the planet, so if they all wanted bitcoins, they'd have to settle for 0.5btc each... and that's without factoring whales, lost coins, institutional investors, etc etc THIS! kept saying this for a long time. let´s make them pay as much as possible. hodl. |

No way to make any decent gains for the forseeable future. Mkt cap is $50b that means $100b to double your money. I see sideways bs looking for idiot buyers for awhile then a bear market before the next leg up.
The current adoption simply doesn't support a continued rise.
bitcoin gained $700 in 7 days since you posted about sideways and bear market. i hope you hodled, anyway. if not, sorry for your loss. |

I think Brexit was the wrong choice for many reasons, it's not about paradise vs hell though, it's just that many aspects of the EU, including letting people work anywhere and money flow everywhere, were in large part made because that was what the UK wanted, being the country that invented globalization. Really? How refusing migrant quotas forced by Bruxelles upon EU states can be a wrong choice? Because the EU is about sharing benefits and burdens. Not only the benefits. I have stated that I thought Brexit was the wrong choice for the British. However I didn't state that I was unhappy about it. I'm delighted that the British are leaving, now maybe the EU can go in the right direction, without a US trojan horse inside. I really can't understand all this talk about claiming back your sovereignty when you have no problem with US soldiers and spies all over your country. Meh cheap shot from me but....... A French man - preaching to U.K about occupation !!?? C'MON?? Wouldn't you guys be eating Schnitzel etc if it were not for the Yanks and the Brits? (I AM KIDDING!!! BUT A LOT OF BRITISH AND AMERICAN PEOPLE DIED FIGHTING THE GERMANS IN YOUR COUNTRY- THEY AINT ALL BAD) all of Europe would be eating borsch if things would have gone a bit different... |

This all seems a bit strange. My original target when we started raising over 1200 was 3500 but now were here I am not really feeling like selling.
Am I being greedy?
Have I just readjusted based on where we are?

It's a good price, but the walls look hungry and lots of greedy noises from the financial establishment, so I understand how you're feeling. i made all kinds of promises to people that I would invite them to the Caribbean once btc hits € 3000 and stuff like that. it was so unrealistically high. guess I need to tell those folks I had it all on btc-e...  |

Why so much resistance to get to 3500 USD? It's only an arbitrary number.
I don't know this either. It wouldn't seem like $3500 is that large of a psychological resistance point either. I'm going to bed tonight hoping to see $3500+ when I wake up in the morning. I know if I sold one it would shoot up past $3500. Lol. I rarely sell any ever but every time I have, I think the price has doubled within two weeks. well you know what has got to be done for the good of bitcoin now.... please sacrifice one coin so we can jump over 3.5k already.  |

Ich fühl mich sehr komisch  Ich kenne BTC mittlerweile seit vielen Jahren, hab schon viele rasante Anstiege und Korrekturen miterlebt. Im letzten Monat haben wir wieder einen Anstieg hingelegt der seinesgleichen sucht, aber ich bin nach wie vor unglaublich bullish. Ist bei mir irgendwas durchgebrannt oder gehts anderen auch so? same here, fühlt sich unreal an. Anfang diesen Jahres waren wir noch bei knapp 1200$ und da habe ich schon gejubelt. Nun macht man sich Gedanken ob der Widerstand bei 3500 hält oder nicht, verrückte Zeit aber es macht Laune und Lust auf mehr . in diesem Sinne.. to the moon! ende november 2013 hab ich auch gedacht "da geht noch einiges". genau wie jetzt. aber diesmal erwarte ich ja nur pessimistische 5k.... |

Only if you think the individual can have any impact at all. In reality, the disassociation from the EU and in particular the cessation of the bill of human rights and the jurisdiction of the ECJ means that the fascist tory government running the UK will now be free to be as draconian as they like with nobody and no body able to intervene.
Since you believe that a superstate will free you from the state you are clinically insane. Find a therapist. Now now, ad homonym attacks and well poisonings do not move us forward, though I also find the view irrational. I think she is confused, not evil, people evolve slowly. please read what you wrote and think about it. |

stop loss order können, gerade bei bitcoin, voll nach hinten los gehen. weil der Kurs plötzlich 5-10% steigen oder fallen kann, deine orders triggert nur um dann sofort wieder umzudrehen und weiter zu steigen (oder zu fallen). dann kann es sein, dass dein order dazu geführt hat, dass du genau auf dem peak oder genau mitten im dip genau falsch herum getradet hast. also die order besser weit weg vom aktuellen preis setzen. aber dann stoppt die order eben viel weniger loss.... |

#2 ist unterwegs (kommt wieder im Dezember hehe), und da werde ich es genauso machen. Bzw. ich werde die Bitcoin-Sparschweine der Fairness halber verschmelzen, und wenn die beiden groß sind, wird halbe/halbe gemacht.  der ganze post ist wieder sehr treffend formuliert. genau das werden wir: an der kurzen leine gehalten. in der antike gab es sklaven und herren. ist heute genauso. aber auch im alten rom konnten manchmal sklaven frei werden und aufsteigen und zu reichtum und ansehen gelangen. heute befreit bitcoin die, die an ihn glauben...
GRATULATION zur zweiten tochter. haste gut gemacht! family&kids sind das beste. ich persönlich war lange auf der suche nach einem ziel, nach erfüllung, nach einem weg durchs leben. und weil ich da nichts fand war ich auf dem weg zum zyniker zu werden. dann kamen frau und kinder. das ist die beste medizin gegen sinnlentleertheit, gegen zynismus, die es gibt. es gab keinen besseren und größeren und gewaltigeren perspektivenwechsel in meinem leben. zum kurs: knacken wir heute die 3000 € ? ich sage spätestens bis morgen! edit: new ath auf kraken/€ incoming |

So I'm heading off to thailand fully paid for by the free coins tomorrow, and I need a new suitcase. I'm thinking pink for easy visibility, but maybe an ugly yellow would work too. Thoughts?
I did a week in Thailand a few months ago. Great time, beautiful women. Cheap prices. You start to decide whether you want a nicer hotel for $45 or just go with a regular one for $25. Went to one of the islands and spent $200/night on a 5 star luxury hotel with a stairway to the pool right off of my patio on the ocean (sea?). I plan on retiring in January and will go live there. Got a beautiful gf out of the deal as well. sounds like a good plan. I am happy it all works out for you. was thinking about the caribbean, but in thailand my coins will last much longer I guess. once you have settled, can I pay you a short visit? |

Ich muss mal anmerken. Ich freue mich tierisch über den Preis. So viel verwirrendes Zeug, Forks, Uneinigkeit, gelegentlich schlechte Presse und trotzdem steigt der Bitcoin. Wahnsinn. Ich frage mich dann manchmal, ob das auch dem Halving geschuldet ist: viele haben wahrscheinlich eine knallharte HODL-Mentalität, und vorm Halving gabs eben noch 25 BTC alle 10 Minuten. Wie hoch das Interesse an zusätzlichen Bitcoins war bzw. ist, lässt sich sicherlich nur schwer sagen, aber mit einer Halbierung ist es doch durchaus möglich, dass nun ein Threshold unterschritten wurde und das Interesse am Kauf die neu generierten Bitcoins übersteigt. Es kommen ja auch immer mehr Leute dazu… schon durch die Tatsache, dass neue Menschen geboren werden und ein Teil davon sich zwangsläufig auch für Cryptowährungen im Allgemeinen bzw. Bitcoin im Speziellen interessieren wird.
Jetzt nähern wir uns den 3000€, und in letzter Zeit denke ich immer wieder daran zurück, wie ich zum Entschluss zum "Großeinkauf" bei ca. 250€ gekommen bin. Mezzomix hat mal nen eingebungsvollen Artikel gepostet, wo er geschrieben hat, dass er an einem gewissen Punkt (iirc so bei 3-4€) einfach das Risiko eingegangen ist.
Natürlich kann man immer die beneiden, die durch ihre Risikobereitschaft belohnt worden sind und immer dem vermeintlich verpassten Einstieg hinterhertrauern. Aber wenn man sich das Konzept anschaut und sich mal bewusst macht, wie viel Bitcoin nur tun muss, um zu steigen (einfach weiter existieren und minimal interessant bleiben… nicht sehr viel, wenn ihr mich fragt!), dann sollte eigentlich klar sein, dass es sowas wie einen "verpassten Einstieg" hoffentlich für eine lange Zeit einfach nicht gibt.
Meine Theorie ist, dass es im Optimalfall für die nächsten Generationen eine valide Strategie der Altersvorsorge werden könnte, in jungen Jahren BTC zu kaufen und dann einfach zu halten. Das Potenzial nach oben ist noch lange nicht ausgereizt.
du hast recht, der Kurs ist absolut spitze. letztes jahr waren es ausgesprochene optimisten, die voraussagten, der kurs könne ende 2017 bis zu $3k gehen. da sind wir bereits drüber und es ist noch nicht mal november, ja noch nicht mal der Sommer ist vorbei. es gab tage in letzter zeit, da ist der kurs in 24h höher gestiegen als er (fast) das ganze jahr 2015 überhaupt war. wenn ich mir ansehe, was das internet für eine grosse Veränderung in das leben der menschen gebracht hat - und da geht es "nur" um den transfer von information, dann wage ich zu prognostizieren, dass das "internet of money" aka bitcoin mindestens ähnliche wichtigkeit haben wird. ich denke der nächste bull-run geht mindestens bis 5k. enjoy. |
