121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [DASH] Dash Price and Trade Discussion Thread [UNMODERATED] on: March 12, 2017, 12:40:33 AM
I believe that the pump is ended.

  WRONG

I like to say: DASH will go up to 0.05 within a week or two.

  CORRECT
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think "iamnotback" really has the" Bitcoin killer"? on: March 10, 2017, 12:21:29 AM
No, just realistic. It's the most logic outcome. He really seem like a nice guy so i don't have anything against him. But do you really believe someone profficient in blockchain technology would stay on the sidelines for 7-8 years before actually doing anything ? Do you really think he used all this time to research and build something world changing in the blockchain space as he'd like to think ? All he did so far is point fingers and kept claiming how flawed every project is, without doing much himself. Hey, i can do that and i'm not a programmer.
So the logic outcome is this, assuming he wouldn't outright scam or deliver something insignifiant in an attempt to save face but that couldn't justify the hype nor the funds raised: eventually, with enough hype he can raise few million $, maybe. He then would take something like steem, change it a bit and that's it, best case scenario.

Yeah, and what if he had done what everyone else did instead, started some coin with sub-optimal technology and be now stuck with it, unable to fork away from his investors. Well he could do what many do and that is to just leave the failed project and a lot of people feeling scammed and start a new one, but maybe he's more decent than your average altcoin dev. It is irresponsible to launch a financial instrument knowing it will be a failure. The less qualified devs do not see in advance what will be a failure and won't have such inhibitions against launching new coins.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [SCAM] BLOCKNET: The Metcalf/Prom Alt-Coin Cartel Scam Exposed on: March 05, 2017, 12:55:19 PM
Did this project deliver what they promised when they held the ICO?
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin problems are pushing me to Dash ! Thanks Amanda Johnson on: March 04, 2017, 01:39:31 PM
In fact, one should push the logic to the extreme, and not write transactions on the chain any more, but just balances.  If you trust that 15 random master nodes validate a transaction, one could just as well have them validate the new account states.  And then, there's not really a need for a block chain with transactions any more !  Only a shared ledger between masternodes.  You might still maintain a small block chain BETWEEN master nodes, where regular "states of accounts" get their hash registered (and only their hash).  But the master nodes maintain the balances (which are distributed on demand to the normal nodes, as well as the masternode block chain and the active mem pool, to verify that the latest balance has its hash on that chain, and that the current balance is the right "latest hash stamped balance" on which the mem pool transactions have been applied.  Say that every 12 hours, a "current balance" hash is produced by the master nodes, and written to the block chain.  So there are 2 entries A DAY on the current block chain.  That makes for a tiny chain, doesn't it !  There's the day's mempool worth of transactions which is shared by all nodes, and updated by the instant-X scheme of master nodes, and there's the masternodes' shared "current state of balances" (the delta wrt to the last stamped state of balances), which is the net result of all the mempool transactions.

And that's it.

Maybe that's what they'll end up doing?
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When will the market cap of Aeon exceed Dashpay? on: March 02, 2017, 12:12:31 AM
The XMR vs DASH battle over, with the good guys (team cryptography) taking the win.

Now for our next battle.... When will the market cap of Aeon exceed Dashpay?

I heard probably Thursday next week.

PoW and IoT is oxymoron

Is micro transactions and transactions fees also an oxymoron?
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: zcoin vs zcash on: February 18, 2017, 04:38:39 AM
The zcoin scammers should've fixed ZeroVert instead of disappearing and launching yet another coin.
edit read above post now

"Hacker" (or inside job?) exploits a bug in zcoin to almost double the amount of coins in existence: https://zcoin.io/language/en/important-announcement-zerocoin-implementation-bug/

Time for yet another coin?
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin - The Zerocoin cryptocurrency, guaranteeing financial privacy on: February 18, 2017, 04:35:31 AM
Zcash dev admitted there is a major bug in wallet. Anon tx require such a lot gb ram.
Crazy!

ZCOIN IS MUCH BETTER!!!!!

MUCH BETTER!!!!!

Zerovert, Zerocoin... gullible investors getting shafted over and over.

https://letstalkbitcoin.com/blog/post/the-crypto-show-with-gary-le-of-zcoin

here is an interview with developer.

From the show:

They are related in the sense that the academic community often see ZCoin as the stabler, more secure, and more proven cryptocurrency - whereas ZCash is seen as the more experimental coin using more dangerous and risky cryptography. For example, ZCoin uses the Zerocoin paper, which has been cited about 200 times by academic scholars, according to Google Search. And ZCash is cited about only half as many times. So ZCoin has about twice as much support from cryptography scholars as ZCash, because it’s based on much more stable and proven cryptography. On the other hand, ZCash has a lot fewer cryptography citations because it is based on something called ZK-Snarks, which only a few people in the world have researched.

Because ZCash is based on more risky cryptography, ZCash has this critical problem that ZCoin doesn’t face. ZCash attempts to conceal the amount of money sent in a transaction. By doing this, if ZCash has a major bug or double-spending problem, it would be unnoticed and someone could drain tens or hundreds of millions of dollars away from the ZCash market cap without anybody noticing a double spend.

Any project that involves new cryptography, including projects like ZCash, faces vulnerabilities. As we’ve seen with the Ethereum DAO project, about two hundred million dollars was drained away. Luckily, that money was recovered through a bailout because it was noticed and viewable on the public blockchain. But if ZCash faced a bug, it could potentially see hundreds of millions of dollars drained from its market cap and ZCash would be worth a lot less for speculators.

Spreading fud on ZCash backfires, hacker creates ZCoins out of thin air almost doubling all the coins in existence and dumps on gullible speculators on exchanges over multiple weeks.

Zerovert devs create yet another batch of victims.
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ZCoin Launching Soon: Promises Full, Untraceable Anonymity on: February 18, 2017, 04:21:05 AM
d) Most importantly is that in Zcoin, total supply is still visible so if there's a flaw and someone is secretly creating coins for themselves, this can be much more easily detected. With Zcash, if a flaw is exploited, it may be almost impossible to detect as someone can mint coins for themselves without being detected.

Yes, it was so easily detected that someone (hacker or inside job?) was minting coins for himself for weeks and almost doubled all the coins in existence before it was fixed.

First those who bought Zerovert got shafted and now those who bought Zerocoin got shafted. Time for a new project once again?

Taking credit after the fact id say. Probably the same scammer who had 100 forum accounts shilling his "pump group" before got exposed.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: - AURORACOIN - on: February 16, 2017, 04:31:07 PM
Though it's good that the interest and discussion about cryptocurrencies is getting stronger here in Iceland adamastor is on the right track here. They are not about to try and implement a decentralised, fixed cap cryptocurrency here (which in my opinion is the only two factors that make Bitcoin and derived coins unique as an electronic currency). What they would do is to strip those factors out so for one they could centrally control it, at least it would not come to a community consensus when faced with changes. They would always make sure that they would be able to enforce their will and secondly they are scared of the idea of a fixed cap currency. Their ideas involve a fixed, predetermined and permanent (till they feel otherwise) inflation into the currency.

One aspect is that if an official body such as CB creates an official blockchain based currency, the trust people generally have in cryptocurrencies would go up and they might start accepting the idea of Auroracoin as well, and later on realize it is the better choice.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: - AURORACOIN - on: February 12, 2017, 02:15:01 AM
It was an interesting talk at the Central bank yesterday.

They were going over the blockchain/Bitcoin technology and what central banks around the world are doing. Ending up suggesting that perhaps the Icelandic Central bank should start issuing the Icelandic currency (ISK) on a blockchain.

Thanks for sharing this information. Did they mention reasons why using a blockchain for a national currency would be desirable?
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: - AURORACOIN - on: February 09, 2017, 07:07:13 PM
A growing number of central banks, including those of Sweden, Denmark, Finland, the UK, Russia, China and India, are investigating the feasibility of issuing central bank digital currency (CBDC) using the blockchain distributed ledger technology pioneered by Bitcoin.

They should soon realize the feasibility is not there at all. Unless 7 transactions per second or w/e is enough for them.

Yes, insider(s) accumulated most of the float before starting to pump news.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Which is the best altcoin exchange? on: February 04, 2017, 06:28:32 AM
Hi,
I advise you never ever trade with Bittrex.
I have btc in it and I wanted to withdraw them. My Bittrex account shows me that I can withdraw max. 50,000 $ daily as I have an enhanced account. But I can't though I need them urgently. I claimed. The support didn't read my claim and sent me the rules. I answered that I want to withdraw as the rules allow me it. Then they wrote me that I must have an activated 2 Factor authentification, which is written nowhere is the website. I hate Bittrex.

Yeah the assholes enforce a rule like that without telling in advance so people are now stuck there.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA - Unmoderated thread on: February 02, 2017, 09:55:18 PM
Let me teach you a few things about your project, my retarded litte padawan. Even though IOTA might have been a good idea at first; you are fucking too late. Byteball basically assimilated your whole business plan and left you with a still unfinished product. Time to market is everything and you Sir, royally fucked up.

I don't think IOTA's business plan was to charge transaction fees. Try again?
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 【PRX】PRINTERIUM ★ BLOCKCHAIN BUILD FOR NEW GLOBAL MARKET WITH 3D PRINTERS【★】 on: January 28, 2017, 05:04:25 AM
PRX is focused mainly on building new markets with 3D printers.

Why do you need blockchain for this?

Main goal is to build decentralized manufacture platform with 3D printer and 3D Printer Files/3D Printer Models.
Classical miners are providing computing power.
3D printers will be used as miners with their abbility to print real physical objects.
PRX will create new global market with printed physical objects.

Why does it need to be decentralized?

Obviously exchanges is way more important than these fundamental questions on why this project even exists at all.  Roll Eyes

both of them are very interesting and innovative projects made for different purposes and different targets in mind.

Yep, one has tx fees and the other doesn't.
