1  Economy / Securities / Bricks 4 Bits - Funding wanted for property dev using bitcoin on: August 28, 2014, 11:53:24 PM
Bricks 4 Bits is a project to develop housing using bitcoin as media of exchange.  We will buy a property in need of renovation, add value through renovation and then resale it for profit using only bitcoin through the entirety of the process.  The initial purchase, all labour and materials and final sale will all be done using only bitcoin.

Bitcoin has growing merchant adoption but needs to penetrate deeper into the economy to really become viable as a fiat replacement.  Help develop increasing adoption of bitcoin and score a profit by helping out.

I don't know if anyone would be interested in helping with my project Bits 4 Bricks?  It aims to increase the amount of housing stock available for bitcoin and increase the circulation of bitcoin in the housing and building trade.

4  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Declaration / Declassification of Bit the Coin (BtC) and Call for Assistance on: October 29, 2013, 10:39:58 AM
Well, I am not sure. As I said, I would like the money to go towards making this project bigger and bigger and to change the world. So, how much do you need to live? Of course, you will not get this immediately, but after it makes profit. The point is that everyone gets approximately equally in respect of personal effort vs. personal capabilities. The reason why I started to hate this capitalist bullshit is that I have ingenious inventions and projects probably worth billions in Swiss francs (CHF) plus being technologically revolutionary, but basically do not have the money necessary to bring them to life and need to plead with montherfuckers who do nothing except have money. Wouldn't it be logical that I am provided with everything necessary to create my technologies so that everyone benefits from them? I really do not get it. People who can create something are being systematically prevented by those who have, who usually create nothing, which also prevents those who have from technologically advancing a few centuries and having an easier life themselves, also. This is – obviously – some kind of insane system. It is based on prevention of success of others so that one gets enough for themselves, while at the same time this success of others could ensure enough for everyone over time. This is – by the way – a form of superrationality; it is purely logical; compassion need not be applied at all. Acts contrary to this are obviously globally insane. It's like two people fighting over an apple tree when each could easily plant their own one. The point is – obviously – then not in the tree, but in killing the other.
I wouldn't need much as I don't have extravagant tastes or habits but UK is a heavy tax zone so basic living expenses like fuel, food and shelter is expensive.  10k GBP / yr is enough for me (less than supermarket shelf stacker).  I'm not sure how long I could work without compensation as waiting until there is profit could put me out on the street; businesses often don't show a profit for years after start up.  Until I know more that is looking like a high risk & low reward scenario for me.   Undecided

The rest of what you write indicates you are short of seed capital, is this right?  If so, I don't think you necessarily need to plead with people.  If you don't like to go to an angel investor why not try crowdfunding?

Contribution towards hosting.
- I'm skint basically so I'm looking for paying work (preferably paid in cryptos  Grin), I don't have anything for investing at the moment  Embarrassed

What kind of terms you offering? It would do well to sort that out early on to prevent later disagreements.

How about using a private forum for secure communications?  SSL protects privacy just as well as PGP.  I think most forum software can be configured to hide posts & threads from public viewing.  One advantage to this approach over using encrypted email is persistent and organisable content to allow collaborative discussion and planning also PMs can be used for email like communication anyway.  One disadvantage will be hosting and maintenance costs but those are not so great especially for a very small forum just being used by the company agents.  I could help with setting that up, I already have a VPS running.

On the other matters you asked me about:
- My laptop does have an SD card reader.
- MicroSDXC cards are 35 GBP and upwards in the UK.
- Libertarian Logistics: glad to help with that in anyway I can until you find someone better

Look forward to working with you and I can't wait to make a start.
7  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Bitcoin Conquest on: June 09, 2013, 11:09:13 PM
Well since it was my suggestion I am of course with you, but it shouldn't and wouldn't be conquest.  Migration and settlement is what it should be.  The land is mostly empty wilderness and we wouldn't be claiming statist authority over all of it, just claiming private property by homesteading only over the land we actually settle and utilise.  Lockean homesteading, you know?  We will of course need to be able to defend our claims but if we are not claiming the whole western sahara then we are less likely to be challenged.

Should I start a new thread for this?
"The Bitcoin Conquest"
Not conquest, "homesteading".  Settling unused and unowned wilderness is not conquest unless it is just nature that is being conquored.

It would be pretty difficult to build a town in the middle of a desert.
The western Sahara has 1100 km of coastline on the Atlantic.  The first settlement should and would be on the coast not in the middle of the desert.
10  Other / Politics & Society / Re: why would russian government sponsor true philisophical libertarian propaganda? on: June 08, 2013, 08:26:16 PM
Russians have an interest in annoying americans but I think there is more to it than that;  Russians including many in the government have swung away from the soviet big government mentality and are trying to find their way towards a more freemarket orientated way of doing things.  Ironically Americans including many in the government are swinging away from the small government freemarket mentality and towards a soviet-like big government mentality.  What goes around comes around...

I had a vision for an anarcho-capitalist free city state which I suppose is somewhat similar to this bitcoin town thingy, but I wouldn't start it anywhere inside of US territory.  My idea was to found it somewhere in the world that had a weak or non-existant government.  My favourite spot would be the western sahara.  The only government to have a claim on it is Morocco but no one else recognises their claim least of all the locals.  It is one of the most sparsely populated places on earth so there is lots of land up for grabs.  It is just desert with no natural resources except sunlight and sand but then so is dubai...

13  Economy / Speculation / Re: Estimate how many took noticeable losses on: April 12, 2013, 05:53:20 PM
The current price was an all time high just a month ago.  Anyone who bought in over that month and especially the last 2 weeks will be feeling very sore but I doubt there are that many who did compared to the whole bitcoin community that has been growing steadily for more than 4 years.  They were mostly newbies too I think.

We will suffer some bad PR for sometime though regardless of how many actually lost their shirt.
14  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MtGox OKPay Withdrawal Delay on: April 12, 2013, 01:49:47 PM
I'm having the reverse problem at the moment; my deposit into Mt-Gox from Okpay seems to be stalled.  Okpay sent it but it is not showing up in my Mt-Gox account yet.  It has been a few hours and usually it is much faster.  I suppose it is due to the problems Mt-Gox is having at the moment.  I should be patient but I want get in an scoop up some coins while they are fairly low.
15  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: exchange problems on: April 12, 2013, 12:00:36 PM
I think this last little crash may have raised the awareness of other exchanges; while Mt-Gox was offline the others were still going.  Maybe more people will move their business to other exchanges, taking the pressure off Mt-Gox and reducing its risk as a single point of failure.  I trade in GBP so Mt-Gox is my only choice at the moment.  Max Keiser is supposed to be consulting for a new (and professional) exchange based in London.  That should help a lot.

btc now trading for $184, I guess if the OP knew what he was talking about he should have sold out now or even later.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: did i make a mistake with BFL's on: April 04, 2013, 04:46:15 PM
I've put in an order for 2 Single SCs just recently.  My impression is that they aren't very competent or experienced when it comes to project management but it isn't a scam.  Anyway I have gained much more from the btc price rise than I am risking on these machines, if they ever materialise, so I am not that worried.  They seem to be giving refunds to those that want out.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Nothing can stop the bitcoin from now on on: April 01, 2013, 06:08:39 PM
I'm pretty optimistic that the gov and banks won't be able to do much about bitcoin and its value will continue to climb.  Bitcoin still has a long way to go before saturation and it takes its place as the only credible international hard currency and in that time, gov and banks are going to concentrate on milking their paper money scams all the more, which of course will only drive more people into bitcoin.
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Encouraging people to spend a deflationary currency. on: March 31, 2013, 03:07:08 PM
Vendors accepting bitcoins need to offer a discount on transactions denominated in btc.  They can because the btc will most likely appreaciate in value in the time between earning it and spending it.  Bitcoins is a real hard currency, the hardest, so you do prefer to earn btc rather than funny fiat money but your customers will have the opposite preference, they will rather spend the funny money and save the hard currency.  To encourage them to give you real btc instead of funny money you can and should offer a discount for btc payments.
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Introduce yourself :) on: March 31, 2013, 02:36:16 PM
Hello,
When my bitcoin hoard appreaciates enough, I'm going to emigrate to Cambodia to start an internet cafe with its own mining operations, exchange and IT tutoring business.  When I open for business in a few years, I expect you all to come on holiday, forget travellers cheques, bring some bitcoin and you can change it for the local funny money at chez anarchomedia.  Cheesy

See ya
