Installing the wallet:  Since this is an EXACT copy of Bitcoin when you install the client it will attempt to use the existing bitcoin roaming (windows) folder.  You're going to need to rename the Bitcoin SHA-256 roaming folder to something else to use the Bitcoin Scrypt client.  BEWARE, this could destroy your wallet if you start mining Bitcoin Scrypt using the Bitcoin SHA-256 wallet.dat file.

How very useful. I see lots of noob tears on the horizon
I did an experiment with a wallet with 0,001 BTC. In the end, nothing has gone nowhere, and in the second network (Bitcoin-2) has created the same address (I send to this address 50 BTC2 and I receive them). All coins from "alien network" are located in UNCONFIRMED. Then, when I copy this wallet to original BTC and start client - I still have 0.001 BTC in my wallet and 50 BTC in UNCONFIRMED Smiley
Now I have the same multi-address for BTC and BTC-2.

Is this just one completely copy of bitcoin?
The only difference is it's algorithm is SCRYPT instead of SHA-256.

Are you offering 1 real BTC, or 1 of your shit BTC?
Do you think somebody will give you real BTC?  Grin I agree that BTC-2 is shit coin for now, like all other new coins. But what will happen nobody knows. I do not give coins to whom they are not needed. Do not like it - pass by.

Bitcoin-2 (Bitcoin scrypt version). No premine.
Difficulty is low now, so I mine some coins for giveaway's.
Post address here and receive 1 BTC

Bitcoin-2 has the exact same specifications as Bitcoin SHA-256.  The only difference is it's algorithm is SCRYPT instead of SHA-256.

SPECIFICATIONS

    Scrypt Algo
    Re-targets every 2016 blocks.
    50 coins per block
    21 million total coins.
    No premine.

340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple starts to conquer the world from China on: September 03, 2013, 04:31:46 PM
Actually whoever invests in ripple now is making a huge mistake.

Ripple is not just a alt-coin, it's a payment system that makes easier for people in countries with rigid bank regulations to move their money, so I really think that OpenCoin made a good move, it's like they asked me for advice Cheesy
Ripple isn't an alt-coin. Ripple is only a payment system (like paypal and others), but based on peer-to-peer system.
