MSI A320M PRO-VD/S V2 - this board costs roughly 40euros in my country. Ryzen has 105 TDP, so with all things considered 300W psu should be enough.

I am a miner since 2016, i have decently large farm for GPU mining, just never CPU mined myself. I have always bought the cheapest rams, hdd, motherboards and never had any issues. Do you have definite proof, statistics, that cheaper motherboards are more faulty than the more expensive ones? (they have a lot of useless components that can get faulty that you absolutely dont need for mining).

I have different philosophy and that is to have as much as capital allocated to assets that actually atribute to hashrate. Maybe this is not evident if you build one rig, but when you built 20 of them, by thinking like this, it makes a huge difference.

I havent looked up any statistics if cheaper motherboards are more faulty.

But what i want to express is not cheaper or more expensive but what the motherboard is designed for , example the vrms , putting a 3900x on the MSI A320M motheboard is just asking for trouble, no heatsink on the vrms. Simply said A320s  are not designed for this amount of highend highcurrent cpus.

If you wanna go for the msi a320s then i wouldnt go with anything else then 3600s.

Here you have some intresting reading to do about am4 motherboards and vrms etc etc:

Sure thanks for feedback, the link is full of information. Will check on it, for sure you can install heatsink yourself Smiley

Why do you recommend such expensive board when you can get something like 40euro board for Ryzen9? The same goes for PSU prices? .. It has huge impacts on the ROI of the setup.

Yes it has impact of ROI.
What board can you get for 40 euro especially with decent enough vrm for ryzen 9 3900?
Not even the a320 boards goes for 40 euros...........

PSU prices i see it like driving a new mercedes thru europe versus driving a old saab 900....
My point being you get what you pay for, this is not for a gaming machine  running 3 hours a day, mining we want 24h uptime 365 days a year in the best of worlds..

Its just my take on this.

As for motherboard i would go with the msi B450 Tomahawk or the msi B450-a pro but all msi b450 boards have the bios button.
Easy to flash the motherboards without cpus.

I already have a Ryzen 1700, I mined a lot of XMR in the past and I pay the CPU with it
It's very tempting to change for a Ryzen 9 3900, it's a monster, but I don't know if I'll do because electricity in my country is very expensive at the moment and probably will not worth, but as an old miner, it's tempting me everytime  Grin

z-enemy/t-rex cannot mine the most profitable coins. Their x16r kernel has not been improved in 6 months. --> not profitable any more.. You can get 2-3 times the profit in other algos.
What algos exactly? Smiley
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: June 18, 2019, 01:34:55 PM
Hey Rune.
Will you add the SINOVATE X25X algo in your faster miners.

No, because he can't beat t-rex :-D

t-rex? is that a new coin? i've been out for a while...

Oh hello! Seems that the rising profits have brought back some old miners! Smiley

The miner is crashing for me on two rigs. It says "CTRL+C" event has happened in the logs? Any idea what to do with it?

It would be good to post what is new in the current version Smiley

Hello Guys,

what is the chance that we will see the usage of Tensor cores in other algos? If so, is it possible that we will also see signifgicant increases in hashrate in other algos?

Thanks!

Kompik

^^^Good to see a public miner finally putting to use Turing's tensor cores.
What? You can actually use the tensor cores for mining? Smiley

Thanks for adding lapo, been waiting for some good miner for this coin Smiley
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH ProgPOW coming soon on: January 04, 2019, 01:44:08 AM
Stop lying, there is no really working progPow miner.
Of course there is. Actually there are at least two (that I know of).
There's the "official" Bitcoin Interest (BCI) ProgPow miner and there's the version from TradeTec Miner as well (for nvidia).

Regardless of this, I'm sceptical that ETH will fork to ProgPow, considering all they seem to be interested in is to move to PoS...
The pure POS serenity will be in 2021 at the earliest, probably much later. So it makes sence since ethereum will be hybrid POS/POW chain for quite a while.

I think it is much better to delay and have a strong start, than to risk anything just because expect the start today.

1.1 is quite unfortunate time for a start Smiley

Very good and stable miner. Thanks!
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: lolMiner Equihash Miner, Update: Nov 22nd: lolMiner 0.6 alpha 3 release on: November 22, 2018, 04:38:56 PM
So the speeds are the same for nvidia or can we expect some decent improvements?
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: November 19, 2018, 11:47:39 AM
The way things are slipping and the very precarious equilibrium we were at for the last month, definitely feels like this whole thing will shit the bed at any moment and we'll fall back to 1-2k.

Hope you guys have your parachutes ready. I need to go get a tub of ice cream and binge watch something.

The earlier and stronger the fall will be the better in the long run. We need total capitulation for the market to start a next cycle, and the stronger the capitulation will be the stronger and faster the rebound will be. If we will prolong it like we have been doing last couple of months then we are in for extremely long bear market.

URGENT ACTION NEEDED!

FPGA covert mining has been started a week ago !!!!! bitstream is distributed by Whitefire990 all mined coins are being DUMPED at exchange as they need to RIO their overpaid FPGAs!
Atm some ~300 FPGA are mining at per 1Ghs per FPGA!

POW change that would not be abused by secret and covert mining is only the ones limited bu memory bandwith and size!

I suggest you move to progpow, or invest in developing some memory abuse algo!

Time to change algo's?

Looks like an ASIC is out there too that might be in play...

    BK - G28
    X11/Quark/Quibt/Myriad-Groestl/Nist5/Skein/X11Gost/Groestl
    Hash Rate: 28GH

Yep this algo is not resitant to ASIC or FPGA at all. Progpow would be the best way to go about it.

It can be mined, but since it is ASIC algo, you will be at a loss.
The only way to make profit is to catch a coin from the start very quickly before any serious ASIC miner joins.
