So we have just bumped to 0.12.1.3? I have not seen any announcements yet but I got a warning from Dashcentral that my client was old.

Just a heads up for all who might want to upgrade.

Yup, 12.1.3 is out, you can read about the changelog at https://github.com/dashpay/dash/releases/tag/v0.12.1.3

It's a maintenance release, but everyone has to update.

What happens if one does not?

Based on what's written in the changelog nothing. The protocol version did not change.
The most important change is a "bug in IS/IX processing code which may cause a peer to crash under certain circumstances". Because of this bug, it's highly recommended (as flare wrote: MUST) for any 24/7 running nodes to update. And well, for others as well Smiley

Thanks. It would be great to know before the profits are realized, as I might be able to prevent unnecessary conversions that would induce taxes. My only worry is that - since it seems like there is no clear ruling here - two tax advisors would have two different answers Smiley

Regarding your question: Denmark? Anything non-corporate bitcoin trading seems tax-exempt afaik.
5  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Bitcoin <-> altcoin steuer on: March 02, 2017, 05:05:23 PM
Hi,

Vielen Dank

--------
I asked a friend of mine to translate to German, I'd appreciate English answers (though I can understand German, but it's way more difficult) if that's possible. If that's forbidden, pm works as well.

Some times ago there was a feature that did send the masternodes payments automatically to an another address.
Will it be available with the new release or is there plan to restore it in future?
Thanks

I've been thinking about setting up something like this but actually never came around to it.
Here's a couple of links that can guide you as to do this:

https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/how-to-setup-masternode-donations.4730/
https://github.com/dashpay/dash/blob/master/doc/masternode_conf.md

Good luck!

Afaik this feature is obsolete deprecated, and currently it's not possible. Maybe in 12.1 the feature will return, not sure about it though. If Udjin lurks around here he might be able to answer.

I wonder how the fuck dares ETC to surpass DASH in marketcap and why we dont surpass the fucking monero once and forever .We are far better than this bullshits

Easy there. The market decides based on different factors. The crypto market is far from being efficient, so if you think your valuation is better then the market's current valuation of any cryptocurrency, all you need to do is make a bet (by being long or short) and profit. Name calling does not really help here.

@K~Ehleyr: don't go all in to any crypto. You made a good decision not to invest everything into Dash.

@Kruemmelmonster: I really really hope that there won't be A release date, but rather multiple smaller releases as we are improving the system.

Well, volumes will be more realistic. I think this is for the better.

Awesome, it is similar to PoS minting, but it is PoW. Great concept Dash has. It means more than 4500 people have 1k Dash, Dash has more than 10k member community? Really huge.

That is not really true - 1 person can have multiple masternodes, or multiple people can own 1 masternode using a shared masternode service. I'd think there are less people owning masternodes than the current amount of masternodes.

Probably a dumb question, but for what purpose do devs set up a predetermined coin limit (18m) ? Wouldn't that just cause people to hoard instead of use it as an actual currency?

This is one of the major FEATURES of bitcoin. Contrary to FAIT currencies, the limited nature of this virtual asset guarantees that its value cannot be inflated away by simply "printing more money".

For your second question I'd recommend reading about deflation and the deflationary spiral.

Without any desire at all to provoke unease here, I gotta say that 'Most of our target market is speaking Engish' is absolutely and completely the opposite of the case, and it's high time that crypto folk recognised this. One of the reasons DASH attracts me is its mature and professional self-marketing, and we should be bumpin' our buns on buses in Everywhere-istan and Darkest Continent to be the first to put a DASH-ed up laptop in the hands of the bazillion potential adopters waiting there.

(DASH got an android?)

No offense taken Wink
In a later post (somewhere on previous page) I described in further detail what I was arguing for. The scope was Dash Digest, and if we should tape the show with various actors in multiple languages.

I have no argument against e.g. having our website available in Spanish, Chinese, etc. What I feel though is that people underestimate the effort it takes to translate recurring materials (status updates, dev diaries, changelogs, blog posts, Dash Digest, etc) into 10+ (20+? who knows where's the limit) languages, and think it's worth it. That's what I raised my voice against.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: January 05, 2017, 09:57:26 AM
You must be american. There is 5.5 billion people that dont speak English at all in the whole world. Only 1.5 billion do speak it whom only 375 million are native speakers (that means theyr first language) .. you arghh.. Its not like you will be paying out of your allowance.. think before you post something permanent on the internet  Roll Eyes
Or just ignore most of the world and ponder why people dont talk the same way you do.

I really don't like how aggressive communication became widespread on this forum. Must be a defense mechanism induced by the troll activity - nonetheless it does have a negative effect on the quality of the discussion here.

I was talking about ROI. Amanda receives 126 DASH/month based on the proposal. Sure, it will be reduced for the next cycle due to the increased price, but we can just calculate with that.
She is producing a lot of value, creating video materials based on her research in English. English is understood by the vast majority of our target market - it does not have to be someone's native language to be able to understand it. Also, my estimate is that 95% of our target market is in the age range of 16-40, where English is WAY more widely spoken than in case of elder people.
Also, since there are already subtitles for the videos, so if someone doesn't understand English but a subtitle is available in a leangue spoken by that person, assuming they can read (I strongly believe literacy rate is >99% of our target market) the information is available for them.

Another assumption I have is that video recording/editing is way more effort than subtitle translation, and it'd take about 50% of the effort of creating the English version from scratch.
So let's say we created 10 videos instead of one in 10 different languages about the same thing instead of subtitles. Do you think that the INCREASE in the conversion rate / reach would justify the costs over going with subtitles only? Based on my assumptions it would take 5 times the effort for a few percent gain.
I'm not questioning that if it was given for free (no effort, no time, no money, it's just there) it would be great, why not. But since there is effort needed, I doubt that's the optimal way utilize that.

Oh, and as a sidenote - please refrain from making things personal unless really necessary. You are putting yourself in a bad position, especially when your initial assumption you base your logic on is wrong.

Whaa!! Just stumbled upon a Russian Amanda B

How cool is this  Cheesy  Kiss

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rq6oGJ0iz6I

That is pretty cool.
Next one please a Venezuela Amanda B, i think they need one there.
This just came to me, Amanda is doing a fantastic job, she is already making her show available in different languages by having people make subs and that is great but why not pay them allitle more to make a green screen version with a Amanda doubbleganger in theyr native language, She already is recording in greenscreen so there is only one layer that needs to be made  Roll Eyes  Shocked  Roll Eyes

Just an idea, on a personal note I dont think I have ever had the patience to watch a Russian show with English subs on youtube.
I suspect that is a common view with people watching non native content with subs  Wink

There is no point. The gains of this would not justify the costs. Most of our target market is speaking English. For those who don't, English dub + translated sub should be fine.
If there are countries with population of millions where they don't dub any movies because it's not worth it, I highly doubt that we should do it.

That was like 2,5 years ago. 2,5 years is an eternity in crypto, you know that as well. Dash was 4 months old then, now it's 36. Do you think people still care? The more time elapses, the less the inception of Dash will matter - just like in the case of Bitcoin.
If you feel like people would care about an airdrop, I'd recommend forking from that point and going ahead with it - that's the whole point of crypto, you can vote with your hashrate/time/money/masternodes/etc.

Btw, I still don't understand people who criticize bad decisions. It is a normal, human thing to make mistakes, especially in this fast-paced innovative space. If you try to prevent all mistakes you are killing innovation, which is simply not acceptable in crypto. Oh and what you are still fussing about was just an idea, it did not even happen! It came up, was discussed, then Evan said it was a terrible idea himself. It probably would have caused way more harm than positives to the network. I understand that you feel otherwise, it's just that past decisions cannot be changed.

But you have choice now: You can contribute to the current challenges of the project, or focus your efforts somewhere else. Questioning 32 month old decisions is as futile as trying to change blocks with 32 confirmations.

Oh, that's interesting! In my mind I thought that the 12.1 quite complicate because it requires mysql.

Afaik mysql was dropped in favor of sqlite, so no need to fear about 12.1 being too complicated.

And while evolution might be some time away, we will hopefully see tons of alpha/beta releases throughout the year, hopefully in an iterative manner. Expect to use testnet way more in 2017 Smiley

No need to change, your darkcoins automatically became dash.
If you want to exchange to another currency, just use your favorite exchange (check dash exchanges on coinmarketcap)
