18301  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How and where do I store my bitcoins? on: December 07, 2016, 01:41:54 PM
Use Electrum wallet for as your hot wallet that you can use to pay for your daily expenses. I would suggest purchasing raspberry pi and use Electrum offline from there with your desktop wallet being the wallet that broadcasts and make raw unsigned transactions.

It would save you a lot more money than purchasing hardware wallets and it can be secure enough.

Yeah I like Electrum as well as it's very lightweight and a fantastic option for fuss free hot wallets. If you're a passive trader as well with no real need for time sensitive transactions the manual fee option is also great.

I've saved about 5% in fees using low priority transacts on my Electrum.
18302  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: unlicensed money transmission on: December 07, 2016, 01:38:18 PM
It's highly unlikely that you are doing anything illegal. If you want certainty check with your local revenue bureau - my feeling is that they will be able to clear you with simple declarations especially if you're conducting personal and not business transactions.
18303  Economy / Economics / Re: How much money do you have left from your job? on: December 07, 2016, 01:34:30 PM
Yes i need a lot of money to buy the things i want but if i have that permanent job, well even there is one person give me the chance to have much money, i will never left my permanent job. Why? because not all people given the chance to have stable job and we all know that todays generation is very hard to find a job that is permanent. Being have a lot of money is very easy to achieve if you only have the hard work and goals in life.

I have been searching for a stable job with increasing urgency as I get older... And I realise now it is almost impossible to get one unless I am willing to start at the same level as people 15 years younger.

True, a lot of experience gained but I envy the sense of security and stability my peers have, especially those in civil service.
18304  Economy / Economics / Re: Global Conflagration on: December 07, 2016, 01:29:56 PM
Global Conflagration is not really a problem at todays world. Even if there is a global financial crisis, the local markets will still continue to operate. In history, there are many times where a country has suffered poverty and hungers or even victims of invasion but the aftereffects is the end of one economy will bring good results to other economy. With this if fiat currency will fall, cryptocurrency will possibly replace but if all will fall including internet then lets go back to gold as primary legal tender.

In fact, with the world so reliant on digita technology it makes tech and currency like bitcoin extra sensitive to that kind of metldown scenario.

Gold is impervious to such extremes and that is why bitcoin cannot yet stand up to gold as financial fallback.
18305  Economy / Economics / Re: Alibaba’s Jack Ma: “Everyone Should Have a Bank Account.” on: December 06, 2016, 04:15:40 PM
Alibaba’s Jack Ma: “Everyone Should Have a Bank Account.”

https://news.bitcoin.com/techfin-alibabas-jack-ma-bank-account/

What do you think about this?

I will agree with Jack Ma's statement about having a bank account. We should not see it as fiat vs crypto because it has a much broader sense of financial inclusion.

In India, about 1 year ago, prime minister Narendra Modi introduced a scheme 'Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana Accounts with Zero Balance' - Translation : Prime Minister Public Money Scheme.  There is a large number of people who are far away from financial literacy and thus they are not able to contribute to economic growth directly with their money.

Bank is a traditional way to learn about the structure of finance. You don't need much technology to use banking service. It is the step after cash economy and then next is crypto.

Personally, I want people to learn about crypto technology but not at the cost of being unaware of traditional financial infrastructure. One should not skip bank to learn about crypto, there must be a step by step transformation.

Absolutely correct. Financial literacy is still very low where it is needed the most. My grandmother STILL keeps cash in a secret stash (which is not so secret) as she has never trusted banks since she lost money in the 2nd World War.

Malaysia is also encouraging kids and students to already start owning debit cards (given free of charge) simply to introduce the idea of online payments.

I think those sites online that promote bitcoin (they ask you to open a new wallet, and they send you free satoshi) are also great.
18306  Economy / Economics / Re: Why are Venezuelan not switching to Bitcoin? on: December 06, 2016, 04:09:05 PM
Yeah... extremely naive to ask an entire population to just adopt bitcoin. Even if it were possible to do so, the outlay in tech investment and infrastructure (not even talking about internet yet, just phone lines and electricity) would dump the country in immediate and extreme debt.

Probably need to focus on the blockchain first and make it ready for mass adoption.
18307  Economy / Services / Re: Earn $1000s PLUS a month on FOREX $150 a month for forex signals on: December 06, 2016, 04:05:54 PM
OP, if we sign up for your programme is it possible to only make the trades following your exact signals and then leave the trades to trigger on original SL or TP?

I understand how emotions play a huge part so figure that better to just place the orders and not watch.

If your signals are designed for such, then this makes it a huge plus point. By the way i have been saving bitcoin and have half the fee you need already. I just meed another 75$ and then make another 150$ to start a broker account. 3 months away at least haha...
As ive see on this thread op does really gives TP and SL but there are really times that he give signals on entering again a specific price which could able for you to maximize profits on a particular day thats why its not really advisable to sleep and must observe and wait for OP signals because as far as i can see on this thread some members do really gain profits and same as you im saving up money to be included on his group.

Thanks for your feedback Oilacris, much appreciated.

So to confirm, if I can only follow original TP and SL orders, it is safe enough, but to maximise profit I should be available to make live orders in real time, correct?

I hope to see you together in the group in 3 months!
18308  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Question for residents of United Kingdom. on: December 06, 2016, 04:01:38 PM
Am not a resident but occasionally (several times a year) I do make online purchases from UK to be delivered to UK, as my partner has a home there.

So, to answer: absolutely would like to have bitcoin as an alternative for Amazon shopping - especially if it means extra discounts. Amazon I find has good deals until you calculate shipping into it.

My guess is residents can't NOT be open to the idea, good luck!
18309  Economy / Services / Re: Hackers of BCT? on: December 06, 2016, 03:48:25 PM
I think OP should test he's beta site to trusted developer, which means it's not hacker, OP should refine "hackers" word to bug bounty.
There are some people who able to test some beta site. OP i suggest you, if you want to test by people who able to do this task, try to create or move this thread to service section with edited the title to "bug bounty".

Actually, hacker is the correct term. As pointed out by someone a few posts up, hacking is not illegal haha. It's them crackers and others that get the notoriety... hacking is as I recall a rather well-respected profession.

I wonder if the media has updated the terminology though.
18310  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen if we use a one currency only? on: December 05, 2016, 05:42:03 AM
What do think if all nation use only a one currency?, What happen to our world?, What the effect of the nation's economy?, It can make people's start to work each other without competing others?Any opinion. Cheesy

I think the overall effect on the world economy will be positive, because international trade is greatly facilitated - especially if all nations use a easily transferable and decentralized currency like Bitcoin. There will be significant differences regarding the extent to that specific countries will profit from a one world currency.

In general, competition will increase, because market access is facilitated for all countries. This most likely will result in lower prices for many products and services. The countries that will be able to produce cheaply will see the most positive impacts - regardless if cheap production is achieved via automation or low labor costs. In my view, developing countries might profit the most from Bitcoin as a one world currency, because labor costs tend to be low and many smaller businesses in these countries will have improved possibilities to offer their products on the international marketplace.

ya.ya.yo!

Quite agree that in the broadest economic sense, single currency systems are beneficial and bring the fastest growth to the least developed countries. This was the vision for regional currencies like the Euro and proposed mena currency (dinar).

Inevitably, the richer nations later air these grievances as they feel smaller nations develop at their cost (euro skeptics please feel free to pop in).

18311  Economy / Economics / Re: Reliable comparison between mining vs. buying and holding on: December 05, 2016, 05:36:23 AM
Chances are, if you're already asking here it means you were unable to source the answers yourself. Of this is the case then you are far better off buying bitcoins if the idea is to hold them for long-term profit.

Bear in mind that the miners making profit are very technically knowledgeable, have a significant capital and are willing to put in time and further cost commitment.

Only consider mining if you have the patience, time and capital.
18312  Economy / Services / Re: Hackers of BCT? on: December 05, 2016, 03:43:18 AM
Speaking of bitcoin hacking, has there been any recent successful hacking of the blockchain? I understood mtgox was the last big one but other hacks seem to be inconclusive. There is alwys the suspicion that "hacked" exchanges are simply scamming.

18314  Economy / Economics / Re: Why are Venezuelan not switching to Bitcoin? on: December 04, 2016, 12:20:37 PM
Two arguments here stand out. How on earth can people abandon fiat for bitcoin when:

1. Blockchain simply cannot handle the extra 20 million transacts that will come daily (very conservative estimate). Should people wait 2 or 3 days to ensure they aren't victims of double spends?

2. Should electricy and internet get disrupted (a lot for more than half its population) are people going to simply pause trade and commerce?

18315  Economy / Economics / Re: The Illuminati thinks Bitcoin is better than gold on: December 04, 2016, 12:16:01 PM
So... if the Illuminati think bitcoin is better than gold, I guess we should now abandon bitcoin and adopt fiat with twice as much fervour.

Unless we want to keep those in power, in power.
18316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Longest bitcoin transaction that you have waited? on: December 04, 2016, 12:13:10 PM
I am a 3 month old bitcoin user, a newbie by most standards.

If making spends from my electrum wallet i have played around with fees as none of my spends have been urgent.

Longest wait time for me on high priority (using recommended fee structure) was18 hours during a congested period.

Longest medium priority when there was only 5k unconfirmed in mempool was 16 hours.

Low priority (lowest possible fee electrum) at 20k unconfirmed was 18 hours.

Will try lowest fee at another congested period to test.
18317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If a person has millions of Bitcoin and he dies one day................. on: December 04, 2016, 12:06:32 PM
There already has been a lot of lost bitcoin and documented instances where people have also accidentally lost their stored bitcoins.

Current understanding simply means these are lost forever but theoretically all these private keys could be cracked with enough processing power.

Perhaps when the miners have next to no blocks left to find, some will turn hashpower to cracking these.

18318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do Bitcoins really circulate in a country? on: December 04, 2016, 12:01:43 PM
Bitcoins are really becoming known due to its price and demand. But how do really Bitcoins circulate one country? Does it circulate like a real money that circulate as a tax. Can someone explain it sir?

Thank you.
Bitcoin would circulate like anything else would, presumably. Someone who has it distributes it to others via paying for goods, services, etc. That is then taken by the people who earn it and distributed to others through purchases, and so on and so forth.

Technically Bitcoin is a more global and easily distributed currency, so it can take a while for it to circulate in a local area, in its current state.

Technically is the operative word here. Unfortunately, cryptocurrency isn't centralised so it did not circulate the way fiat normally does at inception.

Once a fiat currency starts inception, the regulating govt through central banks distribute it. Examples to banks to circulate our wages, merchants to use for trade.

Minting is also centralised so all new fiat is created centrally.

Issue now with bitcoin is the ones with tech to create it are hoarding. And only selling to those who eventually circulate.
18319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH under 8$!!! on: December 03, 2016, 07:33:14 AM
ethereum was once worth 0.001BTC which was about $0.4 if i am not mistaken about bitcoin price back then, and we are headed that way back to the real value of ETH and what it should really be worth after this huge bubble that it experienced.

i believe we are not going to see that low price but at least something around $1 or so is where we might end up eventually. but it may take some time because of the residual resistance.

Agree that eth has reached more realistic values at this point and may still continue to take a beating but the situation is only exacerbated by bitcoin speculation.

Come January, ailing alts should recover at least 10% of today's fiat value, before moving firmer against bitcoin. so you can wait for better prices but you shouldn't worry if you are buying now either.
18320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins to short - December 2016 on: December 03, 2016, 07:28:35 AM
For alt-btc pairs, probably good to short major alts if you're betting against btc to breach the new 800 wall before Christmas.

But alts on fiat? Go long on doge and eth, both of which are in slumps and due for a small correction at least in January. Stronger case when USD also corrects down at rhe same time.
