1  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Bitcoin Forks -How to Claim the most valueable ones with Coinomi(trusted wallet) on: June 20, 2019, 08:49:38 AM
I'm personally claim only BCH, other forks are pretty worthless -

What about BitcoinSV?

That proof that you have bitcoin in time of fork is something that is on blockchain, and that information stays there even when you move bitcoin to new wallet / address.

Thanks for your fast answer.

If I move my old coins, it is the same as if I sell them to someone else, isn't it?
That would means that even if I have sold them, I still can get the new coins??
That is puzzling me...

Greetings!

1 - Move all your Bitcoin (BTC) to another wallet, with a different seed phrase. (Most Important Step)

This is exactly the step I do not understand!
If I must have my btc before the fork and I do move them, then I loose the proof that I had them before?

What did I get wrong?

THANKS.

Thanks dear chocopapaya,

thanks for your answer.

2 questions still:
- I did move some btc form my wallet to a stick. If was after the fork I guess. Does this change something?

- in the explanation to claim coins, it is usually mentioned to move the coins before to another wallet. Does this not compromise the claim? This seems very confusing to me. And if the coins are on a stick, and this moving the coins is OK, do these coins need to be moved too? Is the stick then still safe?

Thanks!

Thanks dear.

My reason to mention that I am an old lady is not to get sympathie. Then it would be probably better to say that I'm a hot young lady Cheesy
I mention it in the hope to get simple answers, with not too complicated technical words into it.

Dear Kingpin: do you know where to find a explanation to take part of the fork?
Thanks!

Hi dear people.

Because it did sound scary and complicated, I did not take part of the forks to Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold, with the few bitcoins I bought long time ago.
Now I wonder, if it is too late to do it.

And: how complicated it is to do so.
Or: where to find an explanation for an old lady. I am an old lady Smiley

Thanks!

8  Other / Beginners & Help / Getting confused with wallets... on: December 11, 2013, 11:27:36 AM
Hi dear people,

I understood how to put btc on a platform for trading and getting it back on my computer wallet (electrum).
But I don't understand how to handle more than one wallet on one computer.

I cannot find in electrum or any other wallet software (how do you call these apps all together?)  where to set which wallet you want to use, how to create a new one, and how to switch from one wallet to one another!

Right now I have a wallet, coded with paraphrase. Created with electrum.
I also have bitcoin-QT but I feel insecure about opening it and getting a mess because I don't know what would happen then. (Is the wallet from electrum gonna be switch to QT or automatically a new one created?)
At the same time I'd like to spread my little savings on 2 wallets instead of one...

How does this all work???
THANKS!!!!

Thanks, that makes it clear!
So I did fall in the trap (sold for 350) and before I make more stupid decision, I will wait a few weeks. Maybe I can get back my btc maybe not.
Greets!

Many speak about a bear trap between the 2 pics a few days ago.
What do they mean?

Is there a lexicon somewhere for these terms somewhere in the forum?
Thanks!

OK, do not kill me for that question...
What does "bear" and "bearish" mean!

Thanks!

Thanks, the "old" software is working again, I don't know why.
So I have no special need to actualize it for now, unless a really important function will be created :-)

Thanks Ian,

do you have then to each time declare which site you are using in your smartphone or the popping number is valid for both sites?

Thank you!
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Google Authenticator on a smartphone on: November 19, 2013, 02:13:22 AM
Hi dear people!

I'm using the Google Authenticator on a smartphone to secure my account on bitcoin.de
On MGox, I could also use the same system, but I wonder if this is possible?

When I look in my smartphone, it stands "bitcoin.de" and I cannot see any option to select another site.
As I installed this a while ago, the question might be stupid, but I'm worrying that IF I use the Authenticator for MGox, I will not be able to use one of the both platfoem.

Anybody here having experience with the use of Authenticator for different website?

Thanks for your reply!

Thanks Tashikoma,

to be clear:

when prompted when dragging the new software to the application folder with "replace with the new one or keep both" I shall choose to replace the old one, yes?
Will the program recognize my wallet automatically?

Greets,
Neotenie
18  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 1.9 released on: November 15, 2013, 05:58:17 PM
Hi dear people,

is it possible to update electrum from 1.7 to 1.9?
I mean, I'm a bit afraid of downloading a new version and not knowing how to transfer my wallet there.

If there is no other options than anew download, do I have to delete the old version first?

Basically I would not touch anything if I didn't have any problems but I have: the application is stucked on synchronizing so I cannot do anything.

So question 1: would a new version solve my problem?
question 2: how do I process, "step by step".

I'm on a mac book with lion.
THANKS,
Neotenie

Hi dear people,

electrum 1.7.2 is stucked on synchronizing.
Restarting the application or the computer will not help.

I know there is an update 1.9.4 but I can't find any "update" menu.
Is it the problem anyway?

Please, if you give me advice, consider that I'm quite an older lady with not much experience!

Thank you very much for your help!
