81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CRW] CROWN (SHA256) | Masternodes (Thrones) | DGW | Mergedmining | etc on: November 15, 2016, 04:44:51 PM
We are immeasurably heartened to return to this community and see that it has been rid of an infection.

For far too long was this thread occupied by a mass of foul creatures, greedy goblins if you will, who were only here to leech money from us. We will all be better off here without the vampiric individuals of the signature campaign. We are liberated, unfettered now to rise to our destiny - CROWN's destiny.

Arise, arise from the mud!

Sorry for the long delay.  I had an unexpected piece of real world work to deliver.  One needs to pay the bills.

...

In short, Stonehedge thinks "close but no cigar".

We see with lucidity now and again thank you for being so steadfast in regards to corresponding with the community.

Strength comes with confidence.

Until we are consumed with curiosity,

This isn't as detailed a response as Stonehedge will give, but here's a few problems with PoS..

From
https://cointelegraph.com/news/the-inevitable-failure-of-proof-of-stake-blockchains-and-why-a-new-algorithm-is-needed

Quote
This being said, even if a PoS currency is safe for up to 99.9999999999999999999999999%, someone will eventually get enough stake to manipulate the blockchain.

Here is why:

Quote
"If the rich are more likely to get a block, they are more likely to collect the reward for the block. Every block they get, the richer they become. The richer they become, the more likely they are to collect the reward for a block.

This keeps going on for the life to the cryptocurrency and if the cryptocurrency lives long enough, it will see 51% stake holders, or 91% stake holders, or even 99.91% stake holders. It is only a matter of time."

Thank you, defunctec. We appreciate your response and read through the article. Both POS and POW have their own unique problems, surely. We have more of an issue with POW because of the massive amounts of natural resources it wastes. Our many drones like a clean and happy Earth to live on. How else will we sustain and grow our large population?

The issue with POS is far less significant in our opinions. Yes, it can lead to centralization in the form of one person holding a plethora of coins. At least it's not laying waste to the energy grid & our only home.

Nonetheless, we are extremely interested in the solution that will come to fruition here. We know there are unlikely to be set deadlines as of yet however, is this new protocol being released in stage one of Crown Revolution - before services?

We apologize to everyone aside from the idiot for our explicit outburst. We had an inexperienced drone manning the keyboard today and it is prone to losing control of its emotions.

We await patiently for Mr. Stone to give us his well thought out response to our inquiries.

Well, this project impressed me too.. I wasn't aware of crowncoin before but few days ago I saw this in someone's signature. and then I started reading about it. I see the market, exchange, and the market cap value.. and now I can say this is a very promising Altcoin and a good choice for traders.
the most perfect thing is most coin supply are in th developers hand, so traders can't dump this coin in big amount.
it makes it an Ideal Coin for trading.
how is that perfect?? the devs holding most of the coins is troublesome wtf

why would anyone invest in this coin if most is held by the dev team? i dont see one positive thing about that

no rly the coin has potential but 20% or even more owned by a few guys is terrible distribution sorry

and why is monsieur hivemind speaking in plural and so extremely exaggerated? is he retarded? Kiss

Where the fuck did this idiot come from?

Now listen here you impotent, tiny brained, not-even-throne-owning, oaf. We have a fucking bag of crown so large that your frail little self wouldn't be able to lift it without getting some of the worst hemorrhoids you've ever had. Worse even than when you got pounded by so many dudes your asshole prolapsed and hung lower than your microdong.

Also, please spare us and go back to third grade so you can learn some punctuation.

The Hive notices that you, Mr. Stone, do not seem to think that the POW protocol is a sustainable one and thus needs an update. There seem to be plausible arguments against POW. However, we have yet to see you state any detailed arguments against POS. We know one of them -- susceptibility to 51% attacks. What are some other issues that you see with POS?

Separately, won't coins that are POW just be able to switch their consensus protocol if it becomes a problem?

~ The Hive ~

I'm not ignoring your question.  I'm just taking a while to think about it.

Thanks for keeping us informed. We figured you might be developing a response to it.

Hello my fellow coin people. My friend recently introduced me to this great coin and I think this could be the start of something great. The problem is I'm a pro Bulgarian peasant and have no money so I would much appreciate some generous donations from you kind hearted people. If you find it in your hear to support an innocent poor Bulgarian I will be forever grateful.

We see that you are quite the pleb. Your people seem to have a stark lack of Crown.... also known as zero.

Have you considered taking out a loan to buy Crown?

The Hive is grateful for the transparency about coin holdings. This community will do far better with open communications than without.

We also see that there was a large buy on the exchange. This time it wasn't our 3 bitcoin....

After detailed analysis our drones have a small, but potentially useful announcement.

The Hive would like to bring the Crown community's attention to the fact that in the top approx. 100 addresses there are a total of 45 addresses that haven't been touched in over a year & in some cases over two years. All of which amount to the grand total of 2,464,691 CRW.

Thrones=2,760,000
Untouched wallets=2,464,691

Sum of total Crown off markets= 5,224,691

Effective coin supply then, can be imagined to be about half of the total when including all of the coins locked in collateral.

With deep curiosity,

This is going to be big if the devs have actually figured a way to secure the blockchain without mining....

The Hive finds it hard to believe, but is insatiably curious.

Stonehedge and i are going to have a meeting tomorrow, and discuss, what we can release of information in regards to our goals, some we are going to keep under tight wraps for now, but we will try and figure out how we can hint at some  of the directions we will be taking, short term, mid term, and long term.

Our people are enthused with the transparency in this community. Both you and Mr. Stone have been forthcoming with information. We think it bodes well for community development. We will be awaiting the news patiently.

~ The Hive ~

Our meeting went very, very well.

We are going to present our plans to the core team at 1700 UTC and if agreement is unanimous, I will be posting a special update several hours after that.

We even get a nice timeline. Now this is the stuff that The Hive dreams of at night.

Our oracle drone foresees that people will be attempting with all their might to clamber aboard this space shuttle to get a one way ticket to the moon. Little do they realize, the launch is nigh and their boarding attempts will meet few successes.

*The Hive buys up the few CRW left so as to allow all of its drones to sit in first class.*

I think we currently have a liquidity problem. Nobody wants to sell their coins. I'm doing what I can by market selling my throne payments as they come in. Maybe the miners will be selling soon too.

If anything, it's a sure sign that crw is underpriced.

I agree CRW is way underpriced. This idea is worth much more than 200k.

As community grows - My short term - 3 months price target - is 1 mil USD. Lets see

The Hive agrees that this is likely a good investment. However, there currently isn't much of an "idea". Our people, along with other investors, can only guess as to what is planned. The current node structure isn't novel. We think it will require mass knowledge of the service plans for there to be a substantial increase in price.

what is thrones ? how they work? is this like interests system? or staking POS?

Thrones are supernodes wich support the Crown network. They have several uses:

1. They allow you to make money when users set them up (40pct of all Crown mining goes to Throne operators, the remaining 60pct goes to typical crypto miners)
2. They make the Crown network more decentralized and therefore secure
3. They will be also used as a backbone platform to build several applications on the Crown network
4. You dont need a supercomputer to mine CRW - with Thrones you do it with cloud VPS with a minimum cost - therefore anybody can set them up - the system is therefore more democratic
5. You need a 10k CRW as collateral to set up one Throne (this way CRW is kept away from the market and capitalization will grow)
6. One Throne currently pays around 20USD per month

You can see more info here:

http://www.crowncoin.org/crowncoin-mining.php

so it is not for common users or anyone? only crowncoin staff and big holders can use this.?
or anyone can get thrones?

Anyone who has at minimum 10,000 crown coins can set up a throne.  Though the process can be a bit difficult.  So I would not say it is only for big holders or developers, as it is approximately a $200 initial investment to get started with the ability to recoup 70-80% of the initial investment within one year.

ROI in less than one year IF the price doesn't increase.  I think it is likely that the price of CRW will increase over the next year  Wink

It's clear the price will either way go up, simply because the team is active and investors look at this things. I just wonder, how and when it will start to climb, because the potential compared to other alt's is great.

Almost 30 percent of total coin supply locked up in Thrones.

The mooning is upon us.

Thats great news!

Can i ask, which method did you use? Did you clear the crowncoin.conf file?

GL

Indeed. We are quite excited.

We actually used two ways but didn't make an attempt with a cleared crowncoin.conf file. The first was with the throne=1 and throneprivkey= still in the crowncoin.conf. The second was without either of those in the crowncoin.conf. Didn't seem to make a difference either way.

We will be setting up as many as we can before they get too expensive.

~ The Hive ~

It seems like lots of small amounts of CRW are being sold to market, get those buy orders in  Grin

We just picked up one more. Throne coming up.   Cool

Approx. 25 percent of coins locked up in Thrones.

The Hive's Throneroom Update:

The Hive's Throneroom is still up and running after 3 hours. No payments yet. However, surely in another hour we will be a rich bunch.

Things are in tip top shape.

~ The Hive ~

Each throne should receive about 6 or 7 payments a day.  Welcome to the throne holders club!

I don't think it will be long before they become even more profitable and much more expensive to buy 10k CRW.

Thank you.

We have officially set up all of the Thrones that we currently have the funds for. They are all happily running and making us the good coins. Also, all of the ones we set up earlier today have been up all day.
