461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why most of us are losing money in sports betting? on: November 07, 2020, 11:48:22 PM
Of course, if you loss big amount of money that means you bet a high amount then vice versa with a small amount of bet, very simple to understand isn't? so, my advise to you is if you feel the addiction is coming for you to play more, that's the time for you stop and play another time, and don't be so greedy for profit.

You don't underestimate addiction just like that. It is a problem that you can't just stop whenever you wanted to because it is really hard, you don't even know whether you are already addicted or not. Losing is just normal when it comes to betting so if you don't want to lose your money or want to chase your losses, you better stop because it can turn worse.

Self-denial into addiction is the biggest problem of every gamblers.

Thinking that they are all well capable in handling this matter, they lose more money as they are keep seeking to have some fun, they unaware that they are already engaged too deep. Sports betting  seems so easy when you are betting with your favorite players/teams,
betting decent amount of money in hope that your pick will win, unfortunately shit happened and you will try it over and over.
just continuous repeating the cycle in the end you'll find yourself wasting everything inside your savings.

That is so true. The reason addicts can't just get out or stop is because they didn't even know that they are already addicted in the first place. That is the hardest part for them because all they know is that they are just having fun and they can control themselves while in reality they can't. In that time, they even became mad when people say they are addicted.
462  Economy / Economics / Re: Biggest threats to the price of Bitcoin. on: November 07, 2020, 11:44:17 PM
Also whales. It is not that they control the price of bitcoin or bitcoin itself but it is just that they could manipulate the price and also, they could just dump all of their balances creating a huge impact on the price. Another thing is the bug that the uppers posts already mention, talking about dumping Satoshi holds a million bitcoins, that could mean he is also a threat at that context, right?
463  Economy / Economics / Re: Is COVID-19 an excuse for governments & central banks to print money? on: November 07, 2020, 11:17:20 PM
I think it is not an excuse for them. For me, they didn't know that this will happan, and now that it did they are riding that wave for them to print that money. It think it is not en excuse, I see it as something they are taking advamtage of. That is why a lot of people are hating the government making them more suspicious.
464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN basher, the Liar 'John McAfee' is finally Arrested on: November 07, 2020, 11:01:49 PM
Well, that is the ending he deserved for what he's done in the past. For me it is still not enough and I find it funny since he's been having these altcoins on him which is decentralized and he's been charged for tax evasion which just means he actually don't want to pay his taxes. I don't think dicks will be the only one he's eating inside that prison.
465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you use bitcoin? on: November 07, 2020, 03:57:14 PM
Bitcoin is not illegal in our country so we can use it without a problem. Even though that is the case, the problem is that only a small percentage of the population is actually using it so we can't use it directly, usually, to use them we still need the services of a local exchange. Hope we can already use it directly especially we are in a pandemic right now.
Third party, right?
There are more places wherein cryptos are neutral such that it is not supported and prohibited at the same time. Businesses are not yet trusting its benefits which we cannot force them from doing so. Also, Bitcoin and other cryptos are more often used as an investment and not as a currency even in places wherein it is not legal. There are networks doing the same thing which is to adapt to the new technology. Further developments in this industry might be needed in order for more people to see the benefits of cryptocurrencies as digital currencies. And that's more likely years from now.

Yeah, that is right. I guess there are still those people thinking that bitcoin is a scam or still related to scammers and don't want to do anything with it since it might take their money away. I think there will come a time that we will be able to use bitcoin directly either to pay or to transact them like other mobile wallets used in our country.

467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An Indian boy committed suicide after losing money by Betting in IPL on: November 07, 2020, 01:19:40 PM
A boy betting serious amount of money on IPL. It's clearly government's fault, government shouldn't allow teenagers to gamble if they allow then we will see more cases like this all over the world. Parents should also take care of their childrens.

Why should we all blame this on the government? I don't know the age limit in their country but all I know is that people should be responsible for their vices, it is not that the government can't control all of the people in their country. This is just sad but we can't just point it all out on the government as this is all the kid's decision and can't bear that he lost.
468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lost more in the process to recover ? on: November 07, 2020, 12:28:19 PM
it really depends on your luck i've been doing this since before there are times that i lost more in the process of recovering my losses but there are times that i am making more profit so i guess it still depends on luck but in my experience i mostly lose more rather than recovering my fund.

Well, the more that we are putting our money in these risks, the higher the risks are and it is not new that most of the people gambling in a long time have a lot of losses than their wins but I agree that this might be based on luck or may be based on the strategy that they are using or doing. Still, the more you chase after a loss, the more you will have that losses.
469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know what bankroll management is in sports betting? on: November 06, 2020, 11:55:54 PM
Well, that would be different if you are really rooting for a team or a player. I can't just put my bet to another team since they are the real reason I am actually doing that bet. It is true that I let my emotion run but I don't think I will bet if it is another two teams playing and I don't actually support them.

I'm sometimes affected too at this betting with emotions especially if my favorite team is involved.

I will just go with the flow, bet on my favorite team because I want it disregarding how dominant their opponent is.

Generally, it's not that they always losing so still worth putting up a bet. I'm not that blind to just bet on my favorite team even they are weak if I see they don't have the ability to turn the table against a much stronger team.

In my case, that team I usually support is that kind of team that is worthy to say that they are a safe pick in betting like for example I am betting on the Milwaukee Bucks in the regular season but then I lost a lot when they went to Orlando for the playoffs. Well, to be honest, I kind of regretting that I bet on them all the way but still, that didn't change my perspective on their team as one of the best this season.
470  Economy / Economics / Re: This is why bitcoin HAS to go up on: November 06, 2020, 11:14:26 PM
Bitcoin is drastically high this time around due to large amounts of volume and usage globally

I think Op can be right about the devaluation of dollar having effect on the price of bitcoin. Dollar is a major converting currency for bitcoin and price or strength of dollar has been dropping either because of the fomo in the election, this is affecting the price of bitcoin as it is increasing since the beginning of the election and the direction of the results create more fear.

Well, there are other reasons for the increasing price of bitcoin right now, Paypal that just accepted bitcoin and then there's MicroStrategy that is said to invest in bitcoin, $425 worth of bitcoins. This might continue for some time so, I guess what we are waiting now is for bitcoin to actually break another ATH which we might see again this year.
471  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin the best reserve asset? on: November 06, 2020, 10:09:07 PM
Reserve assets should be stable one and I will think about fiat currencies. Bitcoin is more like an investment. Although in the case of large companies buying large amounts of Bitcoin as reserve assets, they also say that they will sell them at a good profit. Obviously, it is an investment rather than a reserve of assets.

It is true that bitcoin is volatile but its value grows in a period of time and if that would be the case, I think there are a lot of other countries that would follow that and do the same putting bitcoin as a reserve asset making the value of bitcoin higher. Gold is a reserve asset too but if you will be looking at it, is not that stable too.
472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you received a call/text recently from a friend/fam asking about Bitcoin? on: November 06, 2020, 04:07:03 PM
Some are actually asking me directly about it. Though they usually get the wrong idea about it since they knew it as a way to earn money and not the way how people are actually want to use it in online transactions. Some talk to me not to ask what is it or what do I do with it but they talk that it might be illegal and it is best for me to stop doing it which is actually weird since they did not know it is legal here in our country.

474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why most of us are losing money in sports betting? on: November 06, 2020, 02:56:19 PM
The sports can be exciting if we can enjoy the game, especially if our favourite team play with the weak team, so we can try to place more amount.
In that case you are solely gambling for fun, without your favorite team playing, you won't enjoy the game and hence you will not put your bet. Thing is, when you are into sports betting, it's not necessary that you bet on your favorite team, you only bet on a team where you see there's a value.
Can't blame a gambler who think like that, most gamblers are just typical gamblers, they enjoyed what they are doing when they are betting on their team, reason why most of them loses because they use their emotion more than their analysis.

Well, we can't actually avoid that since one of the more reasons why people are betting on sports matches or games is because they are a fan or a supporter of a certain team or player. I know that there are some people that would just like to earn money the reason they are betting but there are those that really supports that team.
475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An Indian boy committed suicide after losing money by Betting in IPL on: November 06, 2020, 01:06:25 PM
That is just the worst. I don't know if his family is spoiling that kind of attitude of his but we should not just waste our lives because we lose a bet, we shouldn't even borrow from other people just to do that. If you can't do it, don't force it. If you really wanted it, find a way but just remember how people are struggling to earn money why you will just burn it all out in gambling.
476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why most of us are losing money in sports betting? on: November 04, 2020, 11:57:20 PM
I guess in my case, I don't actually think where to bet or where to put my money since most of the time I just bet on a team or a player that I support or follow. Another thing is I guess bad luck as even though we put our money into a team that has a higher odds of winning, it still tips into the team with a lower possibility of winning.
477  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know what bankroll management is in sports betting? on: November 04, 2020, 11:43:40 PM
Yeah, that makes sense but I usually experience where there is this team that you are really supporting and you are so confident that they could win this game so you just go all-in on them and then they lose? Well, that happened to me with the recent NBA playoffs where Milwaukee Bucks lost in the playoffs thinking that they could win.
Don't use emotion while betting. I mean, it doesn't need to bet into your favorite team. If the purpose to get money let's count it with real fact. I also think Antetokounmpo rarely exercises during a pandemic then his muscles going stiffen.

Precisely. If you are really after the money then using emotion won't help you.

Betting with proper understanding and right sets of skills in finding the advantages from one team or players over the other, you'll be able to get something out from doing your research. Stats wise you should always refer your pick according to how things went out from your study it gives higher chances of winning if you stick with this pattern.

Well, that would be different if you are really rooting for a team or a player. I can't just put my bet to another team since they are the real reason I am actually doing that bet. It is true that I let my emotion run but I don't think I will bet if it is another two teams playing and I don't actually support them. I am after the money, that would be obvious and I thought betting it on one of the best teams of the regular season, that I also support would give me that.
478  Economy / Economics / Re: Need of the hour : Use the Crisis on: November 04, 2020, 11:34:25 PM
My partner and I are planning to do an online business but we are not that sure how we will achieve things that we wanted to do like delivering things in this pandemic is hard. We needed a position that would make our customers easy to go to which is usually in towns which is so expensive to rent or buy. Another thing is that transaction procedures are also having problems.
If you look at the current economic conditions, there is no other choice to start doing business online, but what needs to be considered is how the conditions of the people in the market do they want to buy something other than food and other life necessities? so in my opinion this can be said to be a crisis and for you maybe you have to find ideas to sell necessities of life that will not mushroom or have a very long expiration date so that you will not make a loss if there are no buyers.

We will not be doing that food-related business. Even though we are still in the pandemic, here in our province, we don't have that much problem with food. There are a lot of sources that we can get that and people here are so nice and always share what they have with other people. The problem though is that people here can't manage their money that well so when they see something fancy and cheap, usually they don't have any second thoughts about it and just buy it.
479  Economy / Economics / Re: The pandemic did push the world towards a more digital age. on: November 04, 2020, 11:24:54 PM
Even without a pandemic, people are already adapting to new technologies. What this pandemic did is just force people to adapt even though they are not ready. It is the main reason why there are a lot of people that are forced to work from their home, attend their  online classes in their houses and the increased of virtual money is also an effect of that.
Actually, those engagements with technology is more likely related to online services and not technology in general. Services and other businesses continued in using online platforms simply because many people have no other options since going outside is prohibited to prevent the widespread of the virus. And that I think is just a small portion of technology. People are just more exposed to the internet lately because of the situation but not to technology at its broadest sense. It won't be valid to conclude that everything will be digital soon just because many people are holding their phones most of the time. If we are not needing drivers, not manually cooking things and such that would be the time everything is virtual, kidding aside.

That is why I am saying that they are forced to adapt because they have no other choice but to do that. I am not actually saying that this pandemic forced the digital age on the people, what I am saying is that the people are adapting to what they can do in this pandemic and for me, we can't actually say that this is that age since there are a lot of people that are still not familiar with some technologies that we are using.
480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think is the biggest disadvantage of bitcoin? on: November 04, 2020, 02:45:30 PM
It is true that there are problems with the fee and with the confirmation time but the disadvantage that other people have is that they can't actually use their bitcoins other than trading and holding which I hope we could use for a lot of things especially as a mode of payment online. The rate of adoption of bitcoin is so slow is also a big disadvantage of it.
